Oh Wonkette. You are loved. Re: Sister Sarah

Here’s the ideal format for her campaign. She knows she can’t win, but she needs to be in the presidential conversation to make her money. So she’s probably going to refuse to go to Iowa and New Hampshire so she can take her message to the whole country, i.e., the places that will pay her tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to say her catchphrases for an hour and pose with conservative men on oxygen tanks who want nothing more in the world than to fuck her. It’s the dream of every little girl in America to run such a “campaign” for president!

Unfortunately for Sarah Palin, she can only be paid the big bucks to announce her candidacy once. Unless she starts up some sort of traveling Wild West show in which she tells every audience at the state fair grounds she’s announcing her candidacy for the very first time at the show’s finale. Now that’s entertainment! [NYT]

Maybe she can announce claim to drop out due to family issues... then announce again when the issue clears up?

All I can say is the latest news with the defunding PP, the Wisconsin Union issue, and the cherry on the top the raving freakazoid nut sandwich's take on abortion, myself and many like me are getting fired up.

They think we will be silent? Especially in 2012?

The GOP grabbed the tiger's tail and we know what happens after that.

Ah, lovely, the latin influences here! Very sophisticated. Nice. Who is the female vocalist?

. Very nice. This music is cool - takes the edge off the prevailing wind of nonsense.
Metheny's left hand is running up and down the fretboard like a hyper-caffeinated spider. Very cool jazz.

Please, grabbing the tiger's tail is to mild a way of putting it.

This is what they did with their party they wanted to find out.... Will it blend?

The solo is mixed kind of low in this video. On the album, it's one of the most amazing jazz guitar solos ever recorded. I once spent about a week transcribing and learning the whole thing.

The question is how much of their conservative base will be fired up as well. American conservatism needs to be finally marginalized once and for all in 2012, otherwise the Mayans might have actually been onto something.

Your Representatives are in the process of voting on amendments, still at this hour:

Not much surprising, though it is interesting to note that many of the amendments don't completely go by party line - there are always some that don't go along.

Also, there are times when the Dems and GOP agree.

My take on the current house insanity is that the most of congress realizes that most of this bill will die in the senate and are trying to win political points. The leadership is probably trying to set up a bargaining position for the reconciliation bill though.

Likely they are amendments that are offered up by congressmen who aren't following the party line.

E.g., Franks of AZ tried to reduce funding for aid to families even more:
[Link: clerk.house.gov...]
but all he got were the Tea Partiers to go along with him, while several of the more "mainstream" Republicans didn't.

The collaboration, which also involves Columbia University and the University of Maryland, could lead, for example, to a know-it-all medical assistant. Instead of explaining symptoms to a flesh-and-bone doctor, you'll tell them to Doc Watson. After mulling the information for a split second, the machine will identify what you likely have and prescribe a treatment.

Maybe they'll name that function 'House.'

When has inability to govern predicted control of the house? The Democrats couldn't stop Bush after 06 and got rewarded for it in 08. In 1996, the Republicans (who had shut down the government) picked up 3 senate seats and lost nine house seats. Hardly a resounding defeat.

The 2012 congress depends largely on the presidential race. If BO does well the democrats will do well. If he tanks expect a unified republican government.
