I like the drummer. Very talented. Bass player has a nice sound and I like they moved him up in the mix so you can hear him. Most producers bury the bass in the background.

it occurs to me that in our lifetimes we'll never really understand all the ways and the mechanics by which the brain responds to music

what makes intervals sound happy or sad to people? What translation happens in the brain to do that? RIDDLE ME THAT, SCIENCE

don't sweat it....Pet Sounds was a terrific record but I never understood the epicness of it either....more self indulgent blather from the experts (RS mag?)

it's a technical achievement that's unmistakable, but whether it's valuable to you depends on whether you're into the sort of pop/rock music that comes about as a result of studio experimentation

I am HUGE into studio experimentation and bands that do such, so...

I tore up a section of my parking strip this afternoon. I had a large holly tree removed and took out a bunch of rose bushes I planted years ago just to take up space. Some asshole has been dumping their dogshit bags under my rose bushes. I found dozens of them. People suck.

Interesting. Mine's a 335td but doesn't look like any of those. The Single coil/double coil swith is on the lower bout by the neck and it has a suspension tailpiece. My guess is that it was an early 80's/late 70's model. I should probably look it up one of these days.

i really like the drummer too. i always love drummers who are more improv'y than just standard bass-snare beats. this guy definitely sounds like a jazz drummer..

I like these guys a lot, Floater, they are sort of a Portland institution. Nobody outside Oregon has any idea who they are, but they fill up theaters everywhere in the state, and everyone knows every word to every song

post war England was starved for music...skiffle and some folk music were about all they had until the early 60's when they were finally turned on to American style blues....jazz was huge at that time and Kruppa was a giant

Most Gibsons have a shorter scale, 24 fret, neck than Fenders, so if you're used to Fender, Gibsons may throw you for a bit.

I am sadface with no real amp besides a crappy Crate I never use, everything I do guitarwise just goes via direct box into my PC, to Line6 Pod amp modelling software and to my headphones where I ruin my hearing

Which is convenient! But not as fun as the real thing
