Glenn Beck Starts the Week with Full Tilt Bad Craziness

Marxists! Ahhh! Get ‘em off me!
Wingnuts • Views: 19,016

Glenn Beck fired up his radio show this morning and dispensed an extra dose of bad craziness — including another rant with a sick fantasy about “Marxists” rounding him up and shooting him “in the head.”

In addition to planning to murder Glenn Beck, “Marxists” are also infiltrating churches, probably helped by NPR, who Beck now lists among the enemies of God.

And you know that nuclear emergency in Japan? It’s just propaganda from George Soros.

Since this is a Beck thread - this story about O’Keefe’s editing skills is appropriate:
[Link: www.npr.org…]

One “big warning flag” Tompkins saw in the shorter tape was the way it made it appear that Schiller had laughed and commented “really, that’s what they said?” after being told that the fake Muslim group advocates for sharia law. In fact, the longer tape shows that Schiller made that comment during an “innocuous exchange” that had nothing to do with the supposed group’s position on sharia law, David reports.

I’m starting to find it very hard to care much about Glenn Beck and what he says. When all the stuff coming out of someones mouth is like some sort of deranged mad lib, it really loses most of its meaning for me.

With all the craziness, Beck decides to show that he’s got a meltdown mode that throws off more crazy than you can shake a stick at. And Fox continues trotting his show out there - and there are millions of people who are listening to this crazy (leaving open the question of how many people are watching him b/c they agree with him or because they’re waiting to see him go insane on tv a la Sheen).

Yet, this is also where GOPers/TP are getting their ideas?

*nucking futs!*

19 Obdicut  Mon, Mar 14, 2011 11:47:06am

They could not have done the damage to the GOP without their support and assistance. The GOP had the chance to distance themselves from these people but instead embraced them.

Is there a single Republican that hasn’t contributed to the damage? You’ve got people like Palin and Beck (and Ailes) directly feeding the fire, but even the moderates are complicit by not speaking up against the craziness.

I don’t mean to go ‘all Republicans, bad’ here, but outside of David Frum and a couple of others - who were promptly trashed for their trouble - no one has really done anything to stop the insanity.

I keep hoping for cooler heads to prevail, but it looks like they’re fresh out of cooler heads.

re: #27 oaktree

If Beck has a total crazy meltdown are those downwind of him in danger of being contaminated? And what are the symptoms of extended crazy exposure?
/

With exposure up to 1-2 Coulters, symptoms include some nausea, vomiting, headaches, reading pro-Tea Party editorial columns, listening to “God Bless America” repeatedly, and suspicions that President Obama is in fact hiding facts about his past. With proper medical care and usage of anti-crazy treatments, recovery is generally quick and safe.

Between 2-6 Coulters, initial symptoms occur quicker, accompanied by some light diarrhea. Patient now begins to indulge in books authored by “rightwing heroes” such as Ann Coulter and Glenn Beck, view or listen to shows starring such “heroes,” and espouse suspicions that President Obama is in fact from Kenya. Depending upon the level of exposure, treatment may limit damage to the sufferer, but past 6 Coulters, may be ineffective.

Between 6-8 Coulters, onset of initial symptoms is reduced from a matter of hours to a matter of minutes, with all hitting far worse than those suffered at lower exposures. Patients now begin to indulge in rightwing militant literature and listening to persons such as Alex Jones, beginning to profess a belief in “global conspiracies” and “fascist governments,” and begin to believe men like Ron Paul are presidential material. Treatment at this point is generally ineffective, with doctors limited to making the patient comfortable.

Between 8-30 Coulters, onset is cut down from minutes to seconds, rendering the patient virtually incapacitated. The number of weapons stocked up will double or triple, now including items that skirt the bounds of legality if not violate them, while the patient will begin to prepare “doomsday shelters” so as to weather out the predicted coming collapse of America. They will believe that Obama is little more than a puppet of a conspiracy to overthrow the United States government, and show hostility towards any government workers. Treatment at this point is inadvisable, as the patient may view it as a reason to open fire.

Beyond 30 Coulters, the patient is beyond treatment, as they will have become a danger to all those around them, including themselves.

Well, a true Tea Party candidate would have next to no chance of winning in a general election here, for sure. I’m not sure what the chances of one in a primary against Brown would be, though. I mean, our Republicans are generally pretty damn moderate, but in a partisan primary some/a lot of that can go out the window.

And that’s what is going to ultimately lead to the downfall of the Tea Party, the disparity between ideological purity and electability. I hear from the Right all the time about how polls show that the US is a “center-right” country. Problem is, I don’t think the Right have any clue how far from the center they truly are these days.
