American Family Association Spokesman Fischer: Black People ‘Rut Like Rabbits’

Blatant racism from the religious right
Wingnuts • Views: 24,611

The latest rant from the craziest religious right spokesman in America, Bryan Fischer, plunges into outright racism; Fischer says welfare has destroyed the African American family by causing them to “rut like rabbits.”

Welfare has destroyed the African-American family by telling young black women that husbands and fathers are unnecessary and obsolete. Welfare has subsidized illegitimacy by offering financial rewards to women who have more children out of wedlock. We have incentivized fornication rather than marriage, and it’s no wonder we are now awash in the disastrous social consequences of people who rut like rabbits.

So far, GOP presidential hopefuls Michele Bachmann, Mike Huckabee, Tim Pawlenty, Haley Barbour, and Newt Gingrich have all appeared on Fischer’s webcast.

Not quite as offensive as Mr. "If you feed stray animals they'll breed" but still I give it 4 dicks out of 5.

There is no longer any chance of denormalizing racism, in fact the opposite is happening, it is being normalized by the radical right.

I refuse to be surprised by any of this anymore.

It's clear that the pot-of-ugly that has been stewing on stove of the reactionary and religious "right" in this country for some time now is boiling over, and isn't being contained by the social arrangements of proper behavior (in this case language) that operated in public society in the latter part of the 20th century.

Fischer seems to be concerned about welfare 'destroying' the families of just one ethnicity. Oddly enough!

The CalFresh Program is a Federally funded program that helps low-income people buy the food they need for good health. For most households, CalFresh benefits are only part of their food budget, and they must spend some of their own cash along with their CalFresh benefits in order to buy enough food for a month.

Ethnicity of head of household:
White 24%
Black 21%
Hispanic 15%
Mixed Race 11%
Other 29%

Ethnicity of the CalFresh recipients:
Hispanic 21%
Mixed Race 20%
White 17%
Black
Other 31%

Actually unless he wants to talk about the War on young black men Drugs, he still wouldn't have had a defensible argument. If you have approximately 1/3 of any groups male population in the correctional/prison industrial complex in some sort of way at some point in their lives, that's going to lead to an awful lot of that groups women having a hard time finding husbands even if they want one. Speaking of PP...

Congressional cuts would harm thousands

There are thousands of reasons why those who live and raise their families in the Central Valley should be alarmed by the House of Representatives' attempt to strip all funding from Planned Parenthood -- 43,495 reasons, to be exact. That's the number of mostly low-income women, men and teens that visited Planned Parenthood Mar Monte health centers last year in Fresno, Bakersfield and Modesto alone -- and received health care, including breast-cancer screenings, cholesterol checks and family planning services.

In many cases, these working-poor women and their families wouldn't have been able to receive such essential services anywhere else. Close to two-thirds of patients were below the federal poverty level, and over 55 percent reported having lost jobs, work hours or health insurance over the past year.

Pair held in radiation drug scam

Tokyo police arrested two people Tuesday for allegedly selling an unauthorized drug after telling customers it was effective for detoxification, including dealing with contamination from radioactive substances.

One of the suspects was identified as Fumitaka Umewaka, 50, a Kobe-based health food dealer. The police said Umewaka wrote on a promotional website that the drug absorbs radioactive substances and removes them from the human body.

They should be sentenced to community service, as a jumper.

There is a general dislike among the older guard full-blooded fundamentalist for the Catholic Church. It's mainly a theological dislike and distrust, many see allusions to the pope and the church in biblical books like Daniel and Revelations.

During WWI, the board of directors of Jehovah's Witnesses (then know as "The Bible Students") were jailed for sedation for 6 months for publishing magazine articles claiming the pope to be the anti-christ and responsible for the war.

Yes... in the United States of America, leaders of a religious denomination were jailed for exercising their freedom of speech.

Shit happens.

re: #55 moderatelyradicalliberal

I thought black women were having too many abortions. I would like for these people to make up their minds already.

Lemme unpack that for you. These people would like for black women to have enough children to make it difficult for them to seek advanced education, but not so many that they visibly starve or anything (since there will be no welfare available).

Then they would like to not actually SEE these children, except occasionally when dropping the black woman off as a favor, since they go to 'neighborhood' schools, in all-black neighborhoods.

Their mother can support them by raising the children of some white woman who spends all her time doing charity work, or passed out on Miltowns.

When the white woman's kids grow up, they will write books about how they saw the black woman as their 'real' mother, although they haven't seen her since they went off to college and have no idea where the hell she is.

I think I may have read that book. Or maybe it was a movie. Who knows?

Anyway, that's what they want.

But you know, I'm 30 and have no children. Not because of abortion either, I've just never been pregnant. Am I not doing enough rutting? Or just not rutting properly? I need to find me some young buck, get pregnant, not get married, and have an abortion so that I can live up to all of the stereotypes and then as a punishment be put in jail for aborting a black baby.

Are you, perhaps, rutting with birth control? I understand that interferes in the whole process.

re: #224 abolitionist

The allegedly false claims are not without some factual basis.
In 2009, James Flowers, et. al. from North Carolina-based Eno Research (www.enoresearch.com), published the findings of a study in which volunteers consumed a suspension of clinoptilolite in water (or a placebo) for up to 30 days. All participants were monitored for clinically significant, deleterious changes in either of the urinary and serum electrolyte panel or the general metabolic panel. The zeolite group experienced a rapid and significant increase in the urinary excretion of one or more heavy metals being monitored for the study, while the placebo group was unchanged.

[Link: www.dovepress.com...]

Some radioactive fission products are of course heavy metals, such as Cesium-137, Strontium-90.

As to whether the "scumbags" were making claims that were somehow false, or merely illegal, I am in no position to judge.

Umewaka, who has no license to sell medicine, sold 10 bottles of the unauthorized liquid drug called premium zeolite to three people between Feb. 17 and March 29 for a total of ¥47,500, police said.

Police said they believe the two suspects sold the drug to more than 1,000 people, mainly in disaster-hit areas in northeast Japan.

The value of the sales was estimated at ¥24 million.

Indeed. Would your opinion be different if the guys were selling slightly used charcoal briquettes, ie, activated charcoal, which had been treated with dilute calcium and potassium salts? Would that be unethical? Illegal? Would that be an "unauthorized medicinal" use? Would it merit being forced into community service at Fukushima?

The ion exchange/replacement processes would be similar in either case.

Snake oil and morphine sales were significant problems in the post-Civil War decades in the US. It's one of the reasons we require medical prescriptions and fulfillment of said prescriptions to be done separately, by distinct persons. But physics is physics.

And rather than approach a drug company or the government for a patent for his amazing miracle drug, he decided instead to start selling straight off the internet, deliberately marketing to the people least likely to make a rational decision given the circumstances, at the amazingly low cost of roughly $240.00 per person.
