I was a little surprised when Geraldo’s fake videos didn’t attract more mainstream attention. Getting caught faking news stories used to be a big deal. Jay Leno and John Stewart were the only ones to even notice but I suppose that’s an indication of how far Fox has fallen. Everybody just assumes whatever happens on Fox is fake.

Geraldo was born on the 4th of July, so he probably thinks all the celebrations and fireworks are for him. He will be 68 years old this Independence Day, btw. I think there’s just too much of it. It would take hours to sort through 15 minutes of the Glenn Beck show and debunk all of it. Also, Fox Doesn’t care. It’s not like they’re going to fire anybody over fabricating a news story. Their whole purpose is to fabricate fake news. It’s a directive from the top.

I find it really spooky that Republicans are basing so much of their legislative agenda on lie. This Geraldo video is an obvious fake but at least Republicans aren’t basing an agenda on it. Breitbart and O’Keefe’s fake videos are much more dangerous. Even the wingnuts know they’re fake but they don’t care because it advances their cause as long as they pretend it’s real.

Charles Wolf, whose wife, Katherine, died in the World Trade Center’s North Tower, said Fox needs to be careful about promoting someone with such views.
“If he is going to be on there, I think there needs to be some control,” he said of Napolitano. “There comes a point where the media can be irresponsible by what they do and don’t do. There are sins of commission, and one of those sins of commission is allowing people like this on.
“I personally do not believe in any of these conspiracy theories. I think we are well past that stage. We don’t need to be cluttering up people’s time with bullshit.”

The bill, the Government Shutdown Prevention Act, declares that the House’s budget proposal (HR1) will become law if the Senate does not pass a budget to fund the federal government for the rest of the year before April 6th. House leadership seemed to have inadvertently ignored the fact that the phrase “become law” contains the concepts “has been passed by the House” and “has been passed by the Senate”. The implication of the measure’s language was that the Senate would pass the House’s budget if it did not pass a budget, or that if the Senate did not pass a budget then the Senate would have passed the House’s budget. Speaking of Gitmo, if the Bush administration had called this a prisoner-of-war camp from the beginning we could have avoided a great deal of harsh criticism and legal ambiguity. Instead, though, they chose to invent this Orwellian term “enemy combatant,” apparently as a fig-leaf for extra-legal prosecutions and the like. There is nothing in the Geneva Conventions that prevents PoWs from being tried for actual crimes, though they can’t be extradited to third countries.
The latter provision was last invoked during the Falkland Islands war of 1982. The British forces captured at least one Argentine officer who had been named in a European human rights indictment for actions during the “Dirty War” period. The British had no choice but to repatriate him with the other PoWs at the end of the conflict however.

I think House wants you to kill them regardless. I had finished the BOS line, was idolized by them, and House still told me to wipe them out, so I killed House and went with another NCR win.
I remember reading somewhere that there’s supposed to be an option to save the Brotherhood while working for House, but it’s bugged and thus not available.

It’s 2:26 Mountain time.
Thanks, needed a time check. I’m in NY listening to an Australian radio station - their morning drive show (Friday morning) has been on for 30 minutes.

Well, in the vein of the “polishing the turd” segment on the Daily Show I am sure the great minds around here can spin the 9 millionth comment into a sage comment on these times we live in.
