Pamela Geller Doubles Down: New Birth Certificate Fraudulent Too!

Geller’s hilarious ‘exhaustive digital forensic examination’
Wingnuts • Views: 38,007

Adobe - how does it work?You knew Pamela “Shrieking Harpy” Geller wasn’t going to give up that easily, didn’t you?

Read it here first! Atlas EXCLUSIVE! LAYERING: OBAMA’S NEW COLB RAISES MORE QUESTIONS THAN IT ANSWERS!!!!! - Atlas Shrugs

Today, Obama released another copy of his COLB (certification of live birth) — more here. It looks like another exhaustive digital forensic examination is in order.

And so the question is, why release such an obvious forgery?

Get ready for a SHOCK! Because the PDF released by the White House, purportedly an image of the President’s “long form” birth certificate … contains layers! LAYERS!!! It has layers! Don’t you see? All you have to is load the PDF into Adobe Illustrator and you can see them yourself! Layers! Aiieee! It’s an obvious forgery!

Geller cites a random poster from Free Republic, a YouTube video, and some other right wing bloggers who assert with absolute certainty that no PDF file could possibly contain layers if it was a genuine scanned image of a black President’s birth certificate.

Nope, couldn’t happen.

So, even though I already knew what I’d find, I printed out the White House PDF, then re-scanned the printed copy into Adobe Acrobat, using the ‘Create PDF … From Scanner’ menu option. I turned off the checkbox for ‘Make Searchable (Run OCR)’, and left everything else at the default settings, then scanned that baby with my Canon MP830.

Here’s the resulting file: bc-scan.pdf

Go ahead and load that into Adobe Illustrator. What do you see?

Aieeee!!!

Due to her undoubted expertise on all things fraudulent, this woman was actually interviewed --seriously -- on Fox Business last night on the Birth Certificate question. The host, Eric Bolling, was moved to agree that she had certainly proven that there were questions still needing to be answered.

And some people, even sane people, try to bring out the False Equivalence Fairy on these charlatans at Fox vs. the N.Y. Times (see Frum today). It's revolting.

PDF Layers in Obama’s Birth Certificate

We have received several e-mails today calling into question the validity of the PDF that the White House released, namely that there are embedded layers in the document. There are now several other people on the case. We looked into it and dismissed it...

38 avanti  Thu, Apr 28, 2011 1:45:03pm

Even NRO debunked the layers conspiracy :

"What’s plausible is that somewhere along the way — from the scanning device to the PDF-creation software, both of which can perform OCR (optical character recognition) — these partial/pseudo-text images were created and saved. What’s not plausible is that the government spent all this time manufacturing Obama’s birth certificate only to commit the laughably rookie mistake of exporting the layers from Photoshop, or whatever photo editing software they are meant to have used. It’s likely that whoever scanned the birth certificate in Hawaii forgot to turn off the OCR setting on the scanner. Let’s leave it at that.

UPDATE: I’ve confirmed that scanning an image, converting it to a PDF, optimizing that PDF, and then opening it up in Illustrator, does in fact create layers similar to what is seen in the birth certificate PDF. You can try it yourself at home."

Unlike flat earthers or phony moon landing people, these people believe their everyday lives and the everyday lives of everyone around them are affected by this conspiracy.

There is a huge difference between the flat earthers and phony moon landing people, with the 9/11 was an inside job as the bridge between the two.

The latest "question" I just ran into was "Kenya wasn't known as 'Kenya' until 1964."

Really?

Here's some comments from a Drudge linked to article

The problem with this "new" birth certificate is that it's well....new. It lists his birthday as August 4, 1961, then list his fathers native country as Kenya. The problem with that is Kenya didn't exist until 1963, it was British East Africa or East Africa Protectorate until then. It also lists the hospital of his birth as Kapi'olani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital, which didn't exist until 1978. Prior to that time it was Kauaikeolani Children's Hospital. It's is also dated April 25, 2011 with Dr. Alvin T. Onaka signing to the stamp of " I certify this is a true copy or abstract of the record on file in the Hawaii Department of State Health". Being an abstract does not mean it real or official, it means it matches what is in the electronic system, which would have been put in some time after 1978 because of the hospital name, and as recently as April 25, 2011 because of the date, or any time in between.

Wait, what? Remember, this is 1961. Kenya did not yet exist as "Kenya", but rather as the British colony "British East Africa". Kenya did not receive its independence from Britain, and also its name, until 1963. The original birth certificate should read "British East Africa", or "British East Africa Proctorate" instead of "Kenya".

OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD. CHARLES CREATED THE FAKE BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!11ty!

And he admits it here...

I printed out the White House PDF, then re-scanned the printed copy into Adobe Acrobat, using the ‘Create PDF … From Scanner’ menu option. I turned off the checkbox for ‘Make Searchable (Run OCR)’, and left everything else at the default settings, then scanned that baby with my Canon MP830.

It was Charles all along...I knew there was something funky about that guy.

The crazy thing is that it is so incredibly easy to see if what you are spouting is factual or not.

I ran into the hospital thing yesterday, with these wingnuts actually giving the link to the hospital. It very clearly stated in the link that the maternity hospital was founded in 1890. In 1978, the maternity hospital joined with a children's hospital. It was written right there! Either they simply cannot comprehend what they read, or they don't bother to even read any of the links they pass on.

Leave it to Huffpo to find a new angle to the controversy:

When discussing the lingering "birther" controversy, Obama remarked: "We're not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by sideshows and carnival barkers."

Many in the carnival community were not amused by the mention of their industry.

"I am extremely upset by the reference," said Frank Zaitshik, who runs Wade Shows, a carnival business with over 100 amusement rides and attractions that entertains over 15 million people each year.

Zaitshik, a second generation carnival worker -- a term he prefers to the word "carny," which is used as a pejorative -- has spent much of his life battling negative stereotypes about his industry.

"I think what Obama said is the same type of stereotype that has been placed on African Americans." Zaitshik said. "You wouldn't expect those comments from someone who is a minority and has faced prejudice."

160 ElCapitanAmerica  Thu, Apr 28, 2011 2:49:44pm

Yes, this has nothing to do with OCR. What Acrobat is doing is optimizing the document by segmenting the scanned image into different components using different compression algorithms for several sections.

Images in PDF are rasters compressed by one of the following;
[Link: en.wikipedia.org...]

If you open the document in a hexeditor (or vi like I did), you can see the different XObject compression schemes used, I found;
* FlateDecode
* JBIG2Decode (only one raster uses this)
* DCTDecode

If the conspiracy theorist had half a brain, they would have guessed this had to do with a compression scheme since the images are divided into subdivided square areas.

BTW these are XObjects, Illustrator is intepreting them as layers but it really has nothing to do with layers.

No, morons, the modern "politically correct" term is "African-American." And they called him African because he actually was from freaking Africa.

That's Orly Taitz's idiocy. She immediately jumped on the whole "It should say Negro!" bit and started ranting again.

And that's Rasmussen, which is a GOP polling firm, IIRC. Not good news for the establishment Republicans, especially after Obama threw gas on Trump's fire by releasing the long-form birth certificate.

I'll be interested to see how Rasmussen's numbers change after this.

You sure she didn't mean "Ayers"?

If Bill Ayers is secretly Obama's father, we have a really interesting situation on our hands.

If Bill Ayers is secretly Obama's mother, we have an even more interesting situation on our hands.

Oh, just shut up already Pam. You've been asking "Where's the birth certificate" and they finally oblige people like you and Donald Trump and you're still not happy. Go hug a EDL fascist.

Those guys don't look like they bathe regularly.

The latest "question" I just ran into was "Kenya wasn't known as 'Kenya' until 1964."

Really?

That's a 1950 map. Clearly, the conspiracy must have started earlier than we thought.

Either that, or the National Geographic people altered it with layers. Check that image for layers, willya?

Why would a raving blogging harpy have Adobe Illustrator installed in the first place? It's around 600 bucks/year for a licensed vesrion... Was her bogus outrage cooked on pirated software? She's mentioned Photoshop, Acrobat, and Illustrator, which suggests CSx Master Collection... A rather expensive toy for a drooling blogger.

Pamela Gellar is a millionaire. You can possibly do some of this stuff with the trial version of the software anyway.

It's maybe time for theses idiots to ask somebody who REALLY knows something about graphic design. Layers in Ai aren't the same than in PSD. Same bullcrap with the "heat scan" or whatever it was called. Never heard about color profiles? This is so sad and pathetic.

Onions have layers too. Does that mean all onions came from Kenya and are Socialist Manchurian Onions?

Does anyone know why Karl Denninger, the market ticker, is pushing this fraud thing so hard? He made a youtube video and is posting about it on market ticker. He usually focuses on the economy, but he has really dug his heals in on this. There are guys who are posting to his blog trying to explaining some of the items discussed here, but he is dismissing them as 'obots'. Crazy, I've never seem he go off the deep end like this.

196 thekansascitian  Fri, Apr 29, 2011 2:53:15pm

The document can not be determined to be fake from the "evidence" MarketTicker and others are claiming and here is exctly why and how you can recreate the exact same things at home in less than 2 minutes with your own scanned in documents.
