Pamela Geller Rages at the Independent’s Accurate Article

Shrieking Harpy says, ‘I love Muslims!’
Wingnuts • Views: 38,342

“I ♥ me some Muslims!”The Independent’s Robert Chalmers has a very balanced and fair look at Pamela Geller: American patriot or extremist firebrand?

And of course, any balanced and fair examination of the Shrieking Harpy can only come to one conclusion: she’s desperately unhinged.

What’s striking about this article, though, is that Geller completely lacks the courage of her convictions. When confronted about her bizarre, hate-filled posts, she invariably attempts to pretend she didn’t really say what she did really say. It’s a “joke,” or it’s somebody else’s writing that she just happened to put on her blog for no particular reason, or it’s “taken out of context.” Like many extremists and bigots, underneath the bluster and the hateful statements Geller is a coward.

For example:

Among the many new things I have learnt from the work of Pamela Geller is that President Obama reputedly used to knock around with a crack whore.

“That,” the author, blogger and broadcaster insists, “is not what I said. You are taking this out of context. The post [on her website atlasshrugs.com] was pointing out how people were reporting lie after lie about Sarah Palin. I said to myself, there is so much about Obama we don’t print. In his youth,” she continues, repeating a story for which there exists absolutely no foundation, “he supposedly liked a girl who was a crack whore. I never reported it as fact. They say all these vile things about Palin but do we ever talk about Obama and the crack whore?”

The incredibly libellous post, entitled: “IT’S TIME TO EXPOSE THE TRUTH ABOUT OBAMA” appeared on 1 August 2009. “Why not tell the truth about Obama and his reported strange sexual predilections?” Geller wrote. “It is well known that he allegedly was involved with a crack whore in his youth. Very seedy stuff … Find the ho, give her a show! Obama allegedly trafficked in some very deviant practices.”

Pretty hard to take that out of context, wouldn’t you say?

Chalmers emailed me to ask for my reaction to Geller’s insults:

She began blogging on littlegreenfootballs.com, run by the professional musician and software expert Charles Johnson. Between 2004 and 2007, she posted thousands of entries. “She was always as reactionary,” he tells me, “as you see her now.”

Johnson, who, as that remark would suggest, does not share Geller’s opinions, is described as a “mental patient” on Atlas Shrugs.

“I know Pamela Geller often calls me crazy,” he told me. “But I’m not the one who talks about the president’s birth certificate being faked or says that he’s the illegitimate son of Malcolm X, and I’m not the one who defends a war criminal and makes alliances with white supremacist groups. That would be Ms Geller. She has a very long record of absolute lunacy, mixed with bigotry and racism and I am far from the only person to point this out.”

Please note: the article says Geller posted “entries” at LGF, but that’s not accurate. She posted comments only; even when LGF focused heavily on Islamic extremism, there was no way I’d ever let someone this crazed and illiterate post front page entries here.

The overall picture you get from the Independent’s article is of a pathetic, intellectually challenged bigot who thrives on the attention, and the Shrieking Harpy has responded to Chalmers’ article with her customary insults and incoherent rage: Independent Sunday Magazine Cover Story: Pamela Geller ‘The most dangerous woman in America???????’

Robert Chalmers could not disappoint his judgemental peers and risk losing his cache with the lemmings; hence he commiserated with intellectual frauds like Charles Johnson and an unnamed journalist who actually attempted amateur Geller psychoanalysis (as if), but Chalmers chose not to speak to the people I actually work with, like Robert Spencer, Pamela Hall, James Lafferty etc.,

Geller seems to believe that Chalmers was actually sympathetic to her, but too afraid to say so. Good grief.

Pamela Geller is definitely not the “most dangerous woman in America,” but she just might take the title of “most deranged blogger in America.”

Is that supposed to be an improvement on your other picture of Geller, Charles?
She has an uncanny resemblance to this guy.

Coincedentally I had read the Independent article just before coming here this AM. I found it after going to her site after a Facebook buddy linked to her, for which I scolded him for linking to a nutter bigot that was a 'Alex Jonesian hack.'

I posted this Independent article back at him and told him not to go there any more.

I might start doing page for Libya Updates soon, Explanation of what's happened that day in the evening.

However, further good news. The rebels are about to enter Zliten for the next battle. And shelling of Misrata has stopped, so all sorts of supplies and shenanigans and enter the city.

Here is the Misrata front as of May 15, 0000 hrs. (Libya Local Time?)

Exactly! She deserves all the importance that this country gave to Code Pink. It's the same thing.

I guess you're in either two camps here. One that says that Islam is inherently evil, cannot be saved, and most be destroyed at all costs and the other that says it can be reformed in the sense of getting rid of violent extremism. I am of the latter and truly believe that in order for significant reform to take place, the world has to help those Muslims who seek to reform it.

Its kind of entertaining to see the real whackjobs' reluctance to back any of the current GOP candidates. I imagine an Islamo-phobe like herself has no one to latch on to yet - and won't.

I don't think Geller is insane. I think she's an addict. She spends so much time drugged out of her mind on fear, hate and rage that it's indistinguishable from metal illness.

Her remark about working twenty hours a day is a dead give away. Only people high on uppers do that sort of thing. The adrenaline and endorphins that flood the body due to fear, hate and rage are natural uppers.

Pretty sad that an addict such as her has such an effect on American politics.

I've semi-seriously wondered about that possibility too. It is clear that Pawlenty really wants this, but nobody really wants Palwently. Ron Paul is the only guy in the race right now that has both the will to run to run and the (infamously) zealous supports to carry him through. Other candidates would sell a limb for the kind of support and fan base RP has.

If this looks like a real possibility, expect to see the more moderate and establishment republicans quickly rallying around someone (probably Pawlenty) in order to stop Paul in his tracks.

I still think Ron Paul is a bit of a stretch. The Gop can't afford him to represent them in debates against Obama and spewing his radical nonsense as the nominee. I still think the GOP establishment will push Mitt through the primaries and get him the nomination just to have some sort of reasonable candidate.

I'm not so sure. There is such a strong "anti-establishment" orientation on the right at the moment. This combined with his individual mandate in Massachusetts wont sit well, and makes him an easy target. Lastly, there is a strong push not to have a 'retread' candidate.

I think Pawlenty has all of the safe establishment aspects, with at least the ability to pretend to be someone fresh and new. His campaign ads have tried to play up a connection to the Tea Party movement (hilarious).

Ryan's budget was so toxic that it might cost Republicans a few seats in congress. Senate Republicans went to the trouble of removing the Medicare element because Dems were threatening to bring it up for a vote. Ryan's budget was a massively stupid idea.

Does nobody mention his age?

There was a blog last election, "Things That John McCain is Older Than" (penicillin, the polio vaccine, the Golden Gate Bridge, plutonium, nylon, both of Barak Obama's parents, etc)... but Ron Paul is something that John McCain is not older than.

Ron Paul was born in 1935. Do anybody seriously think 77 is a good age to be starting an 8-year high-stress long-hours job? Even if he wasn't a nut?

I would laugh if the GOP was dumb enough to nominate Ron Paul. They'd marginalize themselves in a HUGE way if they did that, because Ron Paul is on record saying he doesn't think people deserve disaster relief, that he would have opposed the Civil Rights Act, and that Social Security and Medicare are unconstitutional forms of slavery.

The GOP wouldn't just lose minorities and sane people, but they'd lose old people too, since Paul wants to cut out their safety net altogether. It would be the single greatest act of political seppuku since the Dems nominated Mondale.

There have to be a dozen dark horses I can't begin to name, each with a 1 or 2 percent chance of ending up the nominee.

I don't agree with him, actually. Her writing style is horrible, but it's horrible in a distinctly feminine way.

I think he's referring to what she's saying, not how she's saying it. He's basically saying that she sounds like a cranky old man screaming at people to get off his damn lawn already.

I worried about McCain. Since I don't think Ron Paul is plugged in enough to reality to have stress from the presidency, I don't think that's a concern.

Also, he will never win, so that's also not a concern.

82 SanFranciscoZionist  Sun, May 15, 2011 1:05:52pm

re: #59 ProLifeLiberal

And the fact that Ron Paul looks like he does at this age says something else. That he has led a cushy, unchallenging life. Compare to McCain, who looks about 10-15 years older than he actually is.

Not everyone can spend five and half years being held prisoner by the Viet Cong.

I was at Dillards at Penn Square with my husband and I was buying him some shirts for our trip and there was this guy in front of me having a hard time picking out a tie and I suggested one and he liked it. He thanked me and was patting me on the shoulder. My husband comes up from another part of the store. He starts walking real fast and come up to me saying "Do you know who that is? Pamela Geller is considered a near-prophet on a certain mailing list for her 'expose' of the erroneously coined 'ground zero mosque.'

A real email exchange (sans names)..

Geller Fan: "Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf--Sufi building mosque in Manhattan"

Me: "No. Not a mosque. Mosque's as a rule don't include an olympic size swimming pool, a culinary school plus restaurant, a 500 seat auditorium, a library, art school, or a memorial to September 11, 2001.

But we can all thank Pamela Geller for the misinformation."

Geller Fan: "Not a mosque, a Super-Mosque, like a Super Wal-Mart."

Me: "There's nothing to support this..Why do you continue to promulgate the lie?"

Geller Fan: never responded back

To clarify, I think I was the one who referred to him as a Sufi building a mosque in Manhattan. Then you corrected, then I agreed, and THEN the Geller fans attacked.

Palin is more dangerous than Geller because Palin is taken seriously by a few million fans.

That may well be true, but Palin, frankly, is less of a hate-monger than Geller. Even that damn 'peaceful Muslims, please refudiate' shows Palin as someone who assumes there are peaceful Muslims out there, and they'll agree with her. 'Cause all right-minded people think like Sarah Palin.

Geller has established herself in many people's mind as some kind of expert on Islam, and her demonization of Muslims--all Muslims, I'm sorry, making an exception for Wafa Sultan doesn't count--is vicious, nonstop, and reflects the strategies of Nazi Germany and classical anti-Semitism. She whips people up into a frenzy of believing that the entire religion is illegitimate, and that all its followers are a clear and present danger to THEM.

Palin is just milking an 'aw shucks' routine. It is different.

Pam Geller: one of the few people on earth who can make me speak kindly of Sarah Palin.

Of the people who are actually running, I think that Romney, the frontrunner, has essentially eliminated himself by refusing to renounce Romneycare-I don't see how he can win GOP primaries. Since Huck, Trump and Palin won't run, and Paul is too libertarian to win, that essentially leaves one guy starting with name recognition, Newt, one Tea Party favorite, Bachmann, and three relative unknowns with solid gubernatorial credentials, Pawlenty and Daniels and Huntsman, if they run. Newt is so unlikeable, and Bachmann is so extreme, I would expect the nominee to be Pawlenty or one of the other two.

Probably as the primary goes along a lot of all the candidates past will come home to haunt them. I think that is some of the reason why they do get in the first place. I think Ron Paul's past will be drug out by Republicans themselves if he wins some primaries.

I'm really getting curious about this interview. This could be the most direct connection yet between Ron Paul and the neo-Nazi white supremacist underground.

What about that picture of him with Don Black?

re: #148 SanFranciscoZionist

Your whiteness level for the day is...

I'd say I was at least half white, except some of these guys still have their doubts about the Irish.

The other half of me is Scandinavian, with a little Celtic thrown in. However, if I get some sun, I tan to a deep Levantine brown. So I wouldn't pass a paper bag test during the summer.

The racists should send out some sort of memo of exactly what their criteria are these days. With all the race-mixin' and all, it's getting mighty confusin'.

She was at the deli counter at a grocery store ... Some old dude from Delray comes up to this very tanned man waiting for his number to be called and says " you look very familiar" but the tanned man tells the old dude he must be mistaken and the old guy walks away. After he is gone, the tanned man kind of chuckled "if he only knew." My friend's ex asks the man who he is and he tells her "Sandy Koufax." Even though she is not a sports fan, she knew his name and asked for his autograph on her deli ticket and he obliged. Koufax IS notoriously private. I have a vivid memory of him myself from spring training in the early 1980's back in Dodgertown in Florida.

Yeah, and not to mention she's got the wrong body parts for wielding any authority over white nationalist males. The only real crossover was the Alaskan Independence Party affiliation of her husband in the '00s. AIP is the AK affiliate of the Constitution Party, which does have a flirtation with the anti-Israel extremist right, but not enough of one, and not a pure enough of one on top of it. It sounds like an odd thing to say, but Palin is too liberal for them. 2 different factions of the whackjob right.

But Gary Puckett of Gary Puckett and the Union Gap? Lol, his vocals from "Woman, Woman" are nothing but white imitation faux soul vocals, ripped off from Black artist styles. I guess he's another one who believes everything we come up with belongs to whites, by default. Too bad. I really like that song.

re: #122 aagcobb

Who will be the nominee then? The GOP has to run somebody.

this wouldn't be a problem and the gop would just nominate romney as the leadership clearly wants to, except for the fact that the republican party is splitting in two. The wingnut part won't accept anybody that regular republicans and independants would consider, and vice versa

i know a lot of regular republicans don't like romney either, but the fundamental split in the republican party will be there regardless of romney, and imho isn't gonna go away until the republican party actually splits in two and the tea party and the republican party run two separate nominees and campaigns for the presidency

thnking that this will all be resolved by a magic candidate who somehow nobody can manage to think of at this moment is just the clearest sign of desperation

Pamela Geller had a short run at being the most dangerous woman in America during the "Ground Zero Mosque" nonsensical controversy.

But her 15 minutes of heightened fame are over now.

Speaking of which, I haven't heard anything about that whole ruckus for quite a while now. Maybe because I haven't visited the Atlasshrugged site for a couple of years now (at least).

191 theheat  Sun, May 15, 2011 4:42:25pm

Late to the game, but Pam's outside is beginning to mirror how freaky she is on the inside. She's beginning to look like the Toxic Avenger's bride. Like stuff is melting.

Many, many people not considered beautiful really are beautiful on the inside. Pam bears the misfortune of being neither.

192 lostlakehiker  Sun, May 15, 2011 4:54:55pm

re: #87 SanFranciscoZionist

But Geller isn't going to get anywhere with her rants, because she's sowing her seeds on flinty ground. Americans of 2010 are not Germans of 1930.

And, not to put too fine a point on it, there's evil genius, and there's noxious joke. Geller lacks the talent that propelled Hitler into history, even if she were as malignant. Which she isn't.

Hitler: one of a slightly larger number of people on earth who can make me speak kindly of Geller.

The woman is mental, insane, crazy, unstable, whatever else English language allows, but not someone to be considered by intelligent crowd. The more you blog/comment about her the more legitimacy you allow her. She's a (*#&$ joke, can't you drop her as such, and watch her disappear

196 Eclectic Infidel  Mon, May 16, 2011 1:45:08am

I think it would be closed-minded of intelligent persons to dismiss Ms Geller's rantings as that of a unstable loon without need of further investigation.

What we're really witnessing with Pamela is her true blue hatred of anything Islamic, or crudely assumed to be of Islam by the tiniest shred of nonsense available.

Anyway, it's late..

197 Ming  Mon, May 16, 2011 1:40:40pm

I've noticed this before with Ms. Geller, when there was that controversy about the mosque close to Ground Zero in Manhattan. Ms. Geller was interviewed on TV, maybe by 60 minutes? I remember how she backpedaled on just about everything she said. No, I'm not a hateful person, and I never said anything like that... etc. etc. She clearly feels much more comfortable at a computer keyboard than she does in 3D.
