Would adding watermelon and fried chicken to that tweet exceed the character limit? Honestly, it's the only thing missing.

watermelon and chicken with his 40. oh, and menthols. hur hur hur.

I can't understand how people can be so blatantly and unapologetically racist, but I guess when your friends are freepers and your candidates are illiterate, it seems like good fun.

BTW, I love watermelon and menthols. Used to love fried chicken before I went veggie. And Guinness rocks. You put Guinness, watermelon, and menthols together, and maybe some Lucky Charms, and I hit all my favorite food groups.

Maybe. We'll have to see. If Fox is smart they'll require an apology, though he'll likely do a non-apology apology. I'd like to require him to go on The O'Reilly Factor at the same time as Al Sharpton, then cut O'Reilly's mike and let Sharpton tear into him.

Got a story about him. My dad went to Princeton with Napolitano and when my dad and some other students wanted to get permission to hold a fundraiser for Sickle-Cell Anemia research, Napolitano opposed it on the grounds that only a small percentage (read black) of the population in the US suffered from it, my father informed him that world wide the population of people affected was much more diverse including Europeans from Mediterranean countries like Greece and Italy, that shut his ass up real quick. He did not want to have a conversation about why some Italians are so dark.

Not worth getting angry about it, America is full of dumb animals, superstitious slugs and furious tribal imps that pretend to be men, otherwise why would Fox News do so well? It's so much easier for me to regard the average American as a pseudo-sentient creature, a poorly trained dog

Honestly, I think we're at a point where a Fox personality could go on a Dr Laura-esque "n***** n***** n*****" rant and face no negative consequences at all. They'd just whine how the people criticizing them for said rant are the real racists for pointing it out.

Someone needs to connect the dots for me. I'm sure "40s" means ounces. But I don't get the reference here as being racist. Is there some implied drink that is typically 40 oz and consumed by african americans?

Yes. Malt liquor, sold in 40-ounce containers, is supposedly the classic drink of black street thugs. Cheap and potent.

Yep. There are very real historical reasons why the US Constitution defines Treason as narrowly as it does and has an extremely high standard of proof. That, barring the use of a Bill of attainder & ex post facto laws along with the amendment ban on double jeopardy were very important in creating what we think of as America as distinct from our legal origins in common law (and look to the recent loss of the protection against double jeopardy in England for proof why heavy safeguards are needed.).

How do you get down off of an elephant?

151 Dark_Falcon  Mon, May 23, 2011 8:46:22pm

Hey Austin, this one's for you:

START Your B-52s

May 23, 2011: The new START nuclear arms reduction treaty with Russia limits each country to 700 nuclear delivery systems (aircraft or ballistic missiles). The U.S. Air Force wants to keep 40 B-52s and 20 B-2s for carrying nukes. The B-1Bs will be restricted to just carrying smart bombs, which it has proved very good at over Afghanistan and Iraq. The air force also wants a dozen or so B-52s retained just for smart bombs. Bombers certified as "nuclear capable" have to be inspected and approved by Russian engineers, as do the B-52s and B-1s that will no longer be nuclear capable. American engineers will do the same to Russian bombers. The mystery here is why keep fifty year old B-52s for anything? It's because they are the cheapest to operate and most reliable "bomb truck" the air force has. With a max takeoff weight of 240-250 tons, the BUFF (Big Ugly Fat Fellow) is basically a large aircraft designed to carry bombs cheaply and efficiently.

The B-52 is the cheapest, to operate, heavy bomber in the air force, and one of them can cover all of Afghanistan. These B-52s are based on the Indian Ocean island of Diego Garcia, from which they also supported operations in Iraq. In late 2001, ten B-52s dropped a third of the bomb tonnage in Afghanistan. That's a remarkable record for a 60-year-old aircraft design. The B-52 carried that much of the load because it's the most cost-effective heavy bomber we have. The B-52 also has a lower accident rate than the B-1 and B-2. Compared to the supersonic B-1 and high-tech B-2, the B-52 is just a flying truck. Thus the B-52, despite its age, was the cheapest, safest and most reliable way to deliver smart bombs over Afghanistan.

Lacking the supersonic speed of the B-1, or the stealth and automation of the B-2, the B-52 can carry up to 150 tons of fuel, and normally carries 12-20 tons of bombs (max load of 35 tons). What made the B-52 so useful in the Afghanistan war is its ability to stay in the air for so long. The B-52s flying out of the Indian Ocean island of Diego Garcia to Afghanistan typically stayed in the air for some 16 hours. Since it can refuel in the air, the B-52 can fly anywhere in the world with a load of bombs or missiles.

Coulter has never had anything useful to say. She's always been crazy.

These days, though, she's even more incoherent than usual. I guess the prominence of all the other batshit crazy on the wingnut right has made her desperate for attention.

I don't think it's crazy, I think she's just in the business of pandering to dumb people's prejudices and ignorance, seems really calculated to me. She's more incoherent than usual because the market for ignorance is now being led by Glenn Beck, and she looks moderate by comparison. Her schtick is drowned out because the market moved on

A lot of people want her gig, look at every conservative radio host in a small market

Might sound a bit sappy, but I think the best way to retire the BUFF would be to arrange to give one to the Russians to put on display, in exchange for a Tu-95 Bear from them to put on display here in the States. Kinda of a symbolic gesture, an exchange of swords to declare the end of an era.

I can see that. I'd love to see a B-52H next to a TU-95MS at Dayton. It'd be a good lesson for the children, like my son, who are clueless about what the phrase "cold war" means and why I joined the Army in 1982 fully expecting to die before my re-up date.

There's a rather hilariously ugly bit in "Gone With The Wind" where Scarlett is talking to a Union officer's wife who wants to know where to hire an Irish nurse for her baby in Atlanta. Scarlett tells her she's never known anyone to have an Irish servant, and she sure wouldn't want one, but she can get her recommendations for a black nanny. The woman can't stand the thought of a black woman handling her kid, and gets all vapory.

Scarlett, who doesn't dare be rude because she needs these people's business, goes on a little sentimental inner voyage about how kind and loving and competent Mammy was when she was little.

It's one of those moments when you just want everyone in the scene to be slapped.

Here? I've considered doing so as it's very much a part of what I have been told that it means to _be_ a christian. "Preach the gospel at all times; if necessary, use words." Still, I've always chosen not to because there are some damned good people of every persuasion here from all the various flavors of Judaism (and I have learned much from them, especially here, about My faith) to multiple versions of atheism, some more religious than others.

I'm terribly traditional in my liturgical needs. I have my prayerbook & bible. Give me "smells & bells" on Sunday and I'm set.

By that same token, I am insanely liberal in my theology.

Given all these things,. if you are serious, my email is blue. Just watch out what you wish for...

I knew there has to be a miscalculation, lucky its still gonna happen.
I didn't know he had had a previous end of world failure.

Apocalypse now in October, preacher says

The evangelical Christian broadcaster whose Judgment Day prophecy went unfulfilled on Saturday has set a new date for the impending apocalypse, saying the May 21 date was a miscalculation.

Instead of the world physically coming to an end on Saturday with a great, cataclysmic earthquake, as he had predicted, Harold Camping says he now believes his forecast is playing out "spiritually," with the actual apocalypse set to occur five months later, on October 21.

Mr Camping, who launched the doomsday countdown in which some followers spent their life's savings in anticipation of being swept into heaven, issued his correction during an appearance on his Open Forum radio show from Oakland, California.

During a sometimes rambling, 90-minute discourse that included a question-and-answer session with reporters, Mr Camping, 89, said he felt bad that Saturday had come and gone without the Rapture he had felt so certain would take place.

TEPCO admits new reactor meltdowns

The operator of the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan says there might have been partial meltdowns in its No. 2 and 3 reactors from damage after the earthquake and tsunami in March.

The latest announcement means all three reactors with active fuel inside the Fukushima plant, north-east of Tokyo, are believed to have suffered meltdowns after the March disaster.

The operator of the facility, TEPCO, announced earlier this month that the No. 1 reactor most likely had a fuel meltdown shortly after the disaster.

The company says the pressure vessels in the reactors may also be damaged.

TEPCO officials say damage to the No. 2 reactor fuel rods began three days after the quake, with much of the fuel rods eventually melting and collecting at the bottom of the pressure vessel containing them.

They say the fuel rods in the No. 3 reactor were damaged by the afternoon of March 13.

You would probably like The Internet Monk then. Not humor (well a little at times), but deeply thought out theological discussion and comparison.

The founder Michael Spencer died last year of cancer but he kept posting right up till the last two months or so. Others that he asked to help have taken up his mission and continued the site, it is still probably the cleanest, most intelligent, and thought provoking theological site I have found on the internet.

Michael's essays alone are worth going over there to read, but the comments in the threads are bar none the most intelligent and insightful I have ever read on any Christian site on the internet.

Well this would be one way to have less people effected by radiation.

Outrage as Japan lifts radiation limit for kids

Outraged parents have held a rowdy demonstration outside Japan's education ministry in Tokyo to protest against the government's decision to weaken nuclear safety standards in schools.

Under new guidelines, Japanese children are allowed to be exposed to 20 times more radiation than was previously permissible.

The new regulation means children can now be exposed to as much radiation as a German nuclear worker.

The government argues the change is essential to keeping schools open in the Fukushima region.

According to Nobel Prize-winning group Physicians for Social Responsibility, the new limits mean exposed children now have a one-in-200 risk of getting cancer, compared with a one-in-500 risk for adults.

The decision provoked outrage from within Japan's government, with the prime minister's chief scientific adviser resigning in protest.

The government says it had no choice but to raise the legal exposure limit, saying about three-quarters of the schools in Fukushima have radiation levels above the old safety level of one millisievert.

Today of course, they would call out the hazmat team, evacuate everyone within a three mile radius, bury the school in a million ton concrete sarcophagus, and parachute in an army of tort lawyers to sue everyone who might have both a remote connection to the source of the mercury and a few bucks in the bank.

Another break from sanity...

“Quite often you hear people say, ‘What about separation of church and state?’ There is no such thing,” Severson told Brandon. “I mean it just does not exist, and it does not exist in America for a purpose, because we are a Christian nation.”

He continued, “We are a nation based on Christian principles and ideals, and those are the things that guarantee our liberties. It is one of those things that is so fundamental to the freedoms that we have that when you begin to restrict our belief and our attestation to our Christian values you begin to restrict our liberties.”

He added, “You simply cannot continue a nation as America without that Christian base of liberty.”

Severson says voters must know his position on the matter.

“Look, this is what I stand for. If you don’t like that, don’t vote for me, and then the majority of the people will have their voice heard,” he said. “It’s wrong for politicians to do one thing on the campaign trail to get the vote and do exactly the opposite once they get to office. To me that is an impeachable offense.”

It all happened within days of the tsunami. Indeed, the hydrogen explosions were the first clue (as the hydrogen coming from a chemical reaction created by the exposed rods' zirconium alloy cladding.) So, as the rods were at least partially exposed they were no longer being cooled sufficiently, and would then rise in temperature to the point where they would melt and ooze towards the bottom of the container, only cooling when they hit whatever water remained.

It was likely only a partial melt, of the top of the rods, but that was enough to release a large quantity of radioactive isotopes into the air and water inside the building, which then leaded outside.

JTA - This just in from the GOP: We’re gonna take ‘1967’ and run with it

Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, called me today to say he thinks President Obama created a big fat opening for his party in its bid to pull votes away from its traditional constituency, Jewish Americans.

He kept calling Obama's position, in his Middle East policy speech last week, a call on Israel "to return to its 1967 borders."

It wasn't, of course -- Obama made clear that it would include mutually agreed land swaps.

I'll be here to remind readers of that every time it comes up, but in any case, Priebus has no intention of dropping this ball.

"It's in our strategic interest as Americans to support Israel, and deviations from that position do not square with voters in our country," he said. "That's what we're gonna be singing from the mountaintops for the next 17 months."

For those who missed it, Camping's press interview on Monday night, someone on HuffPo live-blogged it.

One example of Harold's delusions:

05/23/2011 6:14 PM Camping says again that Judgment Day Came, "It Was Just Spiritual."

"The timing, the structures, the proofs, none of that has changed at all," says Camping.

He is sticking to the numerology he used to determine the May 21 and Oct. 21 dates.

"All I am is a humble teacher. I search the Bible. I search the Bible," he says.

I think I am going to write a review page about all of the extreme weather events of the past several years and show some papers that predicted exactly those sorts of things happening due to climate shifts.

After reviewing the discussions here about the Joplin multi cyclone event, that seems to be very pertinent. This can absolutely be laid at the door of climate change and that is the consensus in as much as these sorts of events have been very clearly predicted for quite some time.

It is not just the multi-cyclone event, but the flooded Mississippi, the droughts, the damage to Alabama, the monsoon and heat waves in South Asia of last year, the heat wave in Europe, the cool temps in the American NE - all of it together that makes a clear picture.

Anyone who doubts the causes of this, given the power and accuracy f the predictions is not paying attention.

re: #305 LudwigVanQuixote

I hope you do. My finite mind hears about an F5 tornado and thinks, "Damn, an F5 Tornado, but they've been happening forever. We've just begun to classify them. So, maybe not related to global warming."

I hear about the Mississippi flooding and think, "Damn, the Mississippi is flooding. It has been flooding for centuries. The Mississippi has redirected itself in the past because of flooding. So, maybe it's not global warming."

Droughts, flooding, cyclones, typhoons all those things have been happening for eons. I'm sure there's a Mayan word for hurricane.

I would appreciate it if you'd write what you are saying. I have the same problem understanding AGW as many lay-people do.

It would be unfortunate if I had to see (for example) an F-8 tornado for AGW to become a reality in my mind.

Not being sarcastic. I'd really like to understand how the same weather we've had in the past means something new now.

You can be right and wrong simultaneously in the non-scientific arena. The facts let you make a correct prediction of a mid/long term trend, but the complexity of the climate could allow for a year or two of abnormally 'nice' weather in a given region. Then you are suddenly the made into the Harold Camping of Climate Change. Science describes one kind of reality, politics creates another.

The difference being, Harold Camping will never be right. At least the scientists get it right fairly often, or their predictions at least improve over time.

Beautiful, regardless, though Dietrich was a better actress than Lemper.

True fact: I dated, and even proposed to, a girl who was a dead-ringer for Ute Lemper (or at least her younger sister) lo, these many years ago. It wasn't until about five years later I figured out why I found her so attractive.

Well, let's just say, when your ethnicity shows, or people think they know so much about what it is, it's a lot more than just schtick -- it's a social determinant.

Anybody who doesn't think so, consider that we'd would never have to endure these kindergarten-level watermelon, ape/monkey, waffles, fried chicken and 40 oz "jokes" from supposedly grown adults, if he were white + something other than Black.

We're winning the younger generation on abortion, at least in theory. What about same-sex marriage? We're losing on that one, especially among the 20- and 30-somethings: 65 to 70 percent of them favor same-sex marriage. I don't know if that's going to change with a little more age—demographers would say probably not. We've probably lost that. That area (and the store in particular) has seen a spate of similar incidents in the past couple of months, so they figured that releasing the video might provide leads on who was involved although it also seems that at least some of those involved might be familiar faces in the store.

It's actually kind of an interesting dynamic up here. See, back in fish country, most everybody can claim Scotch or Irish (or some mixture thereof) for their heritage, as those were the settlers who first started working the land across central Indiana. Up here in the wild north country, where the majority is descended from Scandinavian immigrants looking for something "more like home", a dark-haired Scotch-Irish mixed breed is something of a novelty.

In 2000, I was living in England and spent a lot of time in Belfast at my company's support call center. One of my co-workers, Mark, and I were going out for pints after work and I suggested a bar I'd gone to the night before. He said, "Oh, I won't go there...not with a Catholic name like mine." But for the most part, the Catholics and Protestants seem to be just fine getting pissed together on Friday nights.

I think I have talked to you. Is your name Gary?

The wonders of ultrasound. This story popped up on my radar about 15 years ago...its a matter of economics...weddings aren't cheap to begin with, and paying a dowry to the groom's family doesn't help. Yeah, there's an element of antichoice there, I think. It's really abhorrent to compel a woman to abort, though India doesn't have a one-child rule complicating the preference for boys.

And unless societies with preferences for boys don't start implementing same sex marriage in the next generation, well, ppl see where I'm going with that. If everyone's first born is a boy, who do they intend to marry the kids off to?

That's likely to sort itself out. As females there (and in China) become more rare, they will become more valued, then more powerful. The imbalance is going to cause some wild sociology during the transition.

What's interesting is that most of the CBC was Hillary long before Barack, as were many Black superdelegates. And we would not have had a Black or any other kind of woman pres before a white one. The suffrage movement of the 20s was ok, but they had some seriously nasti anti-Black problems, the undercurrent of which was revived with Ferraro and that ahole Harriet Christian.

I was an Edwards person, myself, but he dropped out before my state's primary (thank gd.) I would have had no problem voting for either, even after that stupid knock-down-drag-out leading up to the DNC.

A fish with arms... and a 'T-Rex' leech found up a girl's nose: Scientists reveal amazing top 10 'new species' list

It looks like a pancake, crossed with a fish, and a bat... with arms. And it hops. So it's no surprise scientists have labelled one of their new discoveries the hopping pancake batfish.

The creature is one of ten 'new species' to have made it onto a list of weird and wonderful creatures published today.

Joining it is the 'T-rex leech' - a bloodthirsty 2inch invertebrate which was discovered when it was pulled from the mucous membrane of a girl in a remote region of Peru.

As well as the Tyrannobdella rex leech - which has a mouthful of gigantic teeth, much like its namesake, the Tyrannosaurus rex - there is also a 6ft-long fruit-eating lizard and a glowing tree fungus on the list.

There is also a jumping cockroach, a cricket which is the only pollinator of a rare orchid, a spider that weaves webs large enough to span rivers and lakes, and a gilled mushroom that fruits underwater.

Experts made the selection from thousands of plants, animals and microbes described for the first time last year to draw attention to the importance of conserving life on Earth.

Scientists say that 'a reasonable estimate' is that there are still around 10million species waiting to be described, named, and classified before the diversity and complexity of the biosphere is understood.

A somewhat more attractive example of a new species is the striking fruit-eating monitor lizard, Varanus bitatawa, from Luzon Island in The Philippines.

At 6ft 6in in length, it has a blue-black body mottled with pale yellow-green dots and spends most of its time in trees.

Reid rebukes Obama on Israel

The most powerful Democrat in Congress, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), on Monday night publicly rejected President Barack Obama’s decision to use a recent speech to lay out aspects of a potential peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians.

“The place where negotiating will happen must be at the negotiating table – and nowhere else,” Reid declared in a speech to an annual gathering in Washington of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). “Those negotiations … will not happen – and their terms will not be set – through speeches, or in the streets, or in the media.”

When the Senate leader added, “No one should set premature parameters about borders, about building, or about anything else,” the lights quickly came up on the vast audience and most in the crowd at the Washington Convention Center rose to their feet and applauded.

No, tornado activity has typically fallen heavier in the spring and early summer. It has to do with the major air temperature differential being favorable to really strong supercells in the spring, which produce the most and the most damaging tornadoes.

Reid is "rebuking" Obama for restating the same parameters used by the US over at least the last three Administrations in dealing with the "peace process".

Fact is that there is no peace process so long as the Palestinians refuse to budge on the one explicitly stated aspect of Obama's speech - that the Palestinians must accept Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state. Borders are a sideshow compared to that essential aspect of any deal.

Hamas refuses to concede Israel's existence; Fatah refuses to accept Israel's existence. Together, they are the official representatives of the Palestinians, and they are making demands that Israel and the US will not accept on any terms - including attempting to circumvent Oslo and its agreements on negotiations between the parties to establish a Palestinian state by going to the UN.

Harold Camping says May 21, 2011 was ‘invisible judgment day,’ world will end October 21, 2011

You’ve been warned.

Radio evangelist Harold Camping said in a special broadcast Monday night on his radio program Open Forum that his predicted May 21, 2011 Rapture was “an invisible judgment day“ that he has come to understand as a spiritual, rather than physical event.

“We had all of our dates correct,” Camping insisted, clarifying that he now understands that Christ’s May 21 arrival was “a spiritual coming” ushering in the last five months before the final judgment and destruction.

In an hour and a half broadcast, Camping walked listeners through his numerological timeline, insisting that his teaching has not changed and that the world will still end on October 21, 2011.

“It wont be spiritual on October 21st,” Camping said, adding, “the world is going to be destroyed all together, but it will be very quick.”

LOL!

Tornado season generally starts in the early spring (around March - beginning over the Southeast) and migrates towards the Great Plains and what we commonly call Tornado Alley as the spring progresses towards summer and fall. Winters generally see few tornadoes as favorable conditions - front lines and temperature differentials don't fall within the continental US.

June 1 - November 1 marks hurricane season, which means that season is about to get underway. The NOAA/NHC is predicting an active season.

The COAPS model, unveiled just last year, is one of only a handful of numerical models in the world being used to study seasonal hurricane activity, and it has already outperformed many other models. The model uses the university's high-performance computer to synthesize massive amounts of information including atmospheric, ocean and land data. A key component of the COAPS model is the use of predicted sea surface temperatures.

Harold Camping apologizes, promises to return donations.

Oh, wait, my mistake. He's doubling down on the stupid.

It was just invisible.

After a few days of silence — as thousands reveled in the fact that they hadn't been Raptured on Saturday — Judgment Day-calculator Harold Camping figured out a way to spin his (second!) failed prediction: it actually did happen, you just didn't see it. The 89-year-old Christian radio station owner explained on Monday night, during a Family Radio station broadcast, that rather than a physical Rapture taking place, the judgment was spiritual. But don't worry; the real end of the world is still ahead.

Camping did admit to at least one mistake: that he'd been reading the Bible with a factual mindset, rather than a spiritual one, which is why he'd misinterpreted Saturday's events.

"On May 21, this last weekend, this is where the spiritual aspect of it really comes through," said Camping. "God again brought judgment on the world. We didn't see any difference but God brought Judgment Day to bear upon the whole world. The whole world is under Judgment Day and it will continue right up until Oct. 21, 2011 and by that time the whole world will be destroyed."

So, in other words, even though Harold Camping was wrong, he was actually still right. You just don't know it, because you aren't Harold Camping.

Is there something in the water at Cannes this year?

Cannes 2011: Peter Fonda encourages his grandchildren to take up arms against President Barack Obama

Lars von Trier, who was banned from Cannes for praising Hitler, was not the only one making unsavoury comments at the film festival.

Peter Fonda, the star of Easy Rider, suggested to Mandrake that he was encouraging his grandchildren to shoot President Barack Obama.

“I’m training my grandchildren to use long-range rifles,” said the actor, 71. “For what purpose? Well, I’m not going to say the words 'Barack Obama’, but …”

He added, enigmatically: “It’s more of a thought process than an actuality, but we are heading for a major conflict between the haves and the have nots. I came here many years ago with a biker movie and we stopped a war. Now, it’s about starting the world.

“I prefer to not to use the words, 'let’s stop something’. I prefer to say, 'let’s start something, let’s start the world’.

“There’s no room any more for a cissy and, like I said, don’t forget that I’ve got grandsons who I’ve trained with long-distance rifles. We have to run like mofos to change this world.”

This was the skool's car. But I took driver's ed in 1979, so, it might've been a '78.

Didn't really care. My other car was a 1963 Chevrolet K20 Pick-Up truck.

Broadcasting from the left side of the dial, I confess to having voted for a few screwballs here and there.

In 1976, my first Presidential election, I was so crushed when the Jimmy Carter (see: Cracker, above) beat Mo Udall that I gave consideration to voting for Howard The Duck as a protest vote. (You had to be there.)

Howard The Duck

But I was never ashamed of my support for any political candidate until Edwards.

Joplin Congressman Bill Long (R) Made Fun of Tornado Test Warnings, Wanted to Sell HAM Frequencies

Tweet from last year from Rep. Long ridiculing tornado preparedness:
Image: 5751945369_d59aa52397.jpg

And here, we have a response from a local conservative blogger (who strangely enough happens to be a Ron Paul fan)

War of the Worlds Part Duex, a F4 tornado, which some claim was a multi-vortex tornado, has taken out a large section of homes and businesses in Long’s own home district. How many lives were saved all because the state of Missouri has a day to remind people of procedures that may save their lives. This was no time for inspiration from Bozo (Billy Long).

Last night’s storm also reminds of the importance of first responders on HAM radios, mobilizing injury prevention and first response before and after the storm. Long’s co-sponsorship of HR607, the federal emergency broadband bill, weakens this first responder network by removing valuable HAM frequencies that were used yesterday to spot tornadoes, get people to take shelter, and mobilize emergency efforts, but Long’s bill he co-sponsored would make it harder for these HAM radio operators to perform this valuable service.

Yeah. A Ron Paul supporter who thinks that government funding for a HAM radio network and Tornado Warning systems is a GOOD idea.

Then people feign confusion about we get so existential. There's nothing abstract about it.

It was equally as frustrating that the Israel-can-do-no-wrong set completely ignored that Obama's speech charged the Palestinian leadership with this, directly.
