Smoking Gun: The Dark Past Of The ‘Weinergate’ Co-Pilot

Another paranoid right wing loser with a creepy history
Politics • Views: 27,357

Another astoundingly crazy “Weinergate” conspirator is outed by the Smoking Gun: The Dark Past Of The ‘Weinergate’ Co-Pilot.

JUNE 3—The Twitter user who first floated the rumor that a lewd photo scandal was brewing for Representative Anthony Weiner is not your typical conservative avenger, an investigation by The Smoking Gun has determined.

Mike Stack, a 39-year-old New Jersey resident, is known as “goatsred” in the Twitterverse, where he has helped lead a months-long assault on the New York City politician. Stack was joined at the hip in this pursuit by “patriotusa76,” who gave his name as “Dan Wolfe” and was the online avenger who happened last Friday night to discover the notorious tweet emanating from Weiner’s account.

As TSG reported yesterday, “Dan Wolfe” has conveniently evaporated in the wake of “Weinergate.” In fact, today Wolfe’s entire Twitter page was deleted.

But Stack, the other Twitter Twin, remains online. An examination of his background has discovered…

Read the whole thing.

People like Mike Stack are Andrew Breitbart’s sources.

Wow! Girlfriend beating, drunk driving porn-vert, blasphemer, and tax cheat, this clod is the ideal standard bearer for the far right in their crusade to restore American morality. At least he's not a draft dodger like Newt and Rush, though probably only because conscription was abolished about the time he was born.

Isn't this the kind of investigative journalism CNN or the NYT is supposed to be doing, as opposed to TSG?

Yeah I think Jon Stewart made that point pretty excellently on monday. What the fuck happened to investigative journalism? Its all hired talking heads offering 'opinions' now. They are like paid live performers of a blog that only reposts content. No original research.

For the sake of accuracy:
New Jersey court records show that Stack was convicted of drunk driving in February 2008. He was previously arrested for domestic assault in July 2004 following a drunken fight that left his girlfriend with bruises on her arm (that case, though, ended with a dismissal in April 2005).

Interesting. I assumed the Dkos diary from Anon was made up of bogus screenshots and twitter hacks. It seems I was wrong.

I read all the comments of that Daily Kos story. If you read further it's not just Anon, it's ANONOMISS , the woman of Anon. It seems that one of the commentators is a MISS. They are not only unhappy with what happened to Weiner but for the woman named as the ones that follow Weiner on twitter. They seem to want to prove that it leads it back to Thomas. It was kind of difficult to follow the thread.

Now I live in an area where the corner stores carry a better beer selection than the beer store for 1/3 the price. Microbreweries and the like that cost over 20 dollars in Canada.

re: #90 justaminute

I will. I think Fox is going down. CNN is bypassing them. Eventually, MSNBC passes them. But still Fox will still be bigger that WND. If you win though could you come to OKC,? I'll feed you all day at my restaurant. Next door is an affordable hotel. Across the street is a nice liquor store. And our waitresses are cute. What do I get?

Fox beats MSNBC by 2 or to 1. They won't be losing to MSNBC, mostly because they'll take corrective action before that happens. But that will require there being fewer wingnuts.

Been looking at the response around the 'net today at the Christianity Today cover story (on the non-existence of Adam and Eve.) Really rubs lots of people the wrong way. But what is particularly discouraging (when reading comments here and there) is how very, very much so many people isolate themselves from what is really very widely confirmed ideas (like genetics.)

The revolution that genetics has wrought isn't limited to upending conservative theistic religious doctrine - e.g., the racism angle is cooking under the hood - but it is an indication of the power of scientific revolutions and what happens when worldviews really become outdated.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled FNDT:

Reading the foodie bits, I'll just mention that it's Friday, so it was a little baked Cod with a bread crumb, thyme & egg white breading mushed on top of the fish, drizzle a little butter over everything & pop in a hot oven for 20 minutes. Very nice with green beans & spaetzle.

And with that, have a good evening all.

It doesn't really work as an analogy. Far fewer people are actually veterans of the war (both as a percentage of the population and in absolute numbers) and casualty rates (especially fatal casualties) are much lower.

I didn't mean to imply that the current American collective psyche problems have arisen from our recent wars in Asia.

Rather, that the parallel is the loss of hope in the future. In our case it is the realization that the US is in the process of losing its status that we've had since WWII, that our economy is suffering some major structural problems, that our social institutions (religious and secular) are beset by insurmountable problems, etc. etc. etc.
