Breitbart Crony James O’Keefe May Be Violating a Court Order - Update: Nope, He Isn’t

ThinkProgress notes that Andrew Breitbart’s partner in fraud, James O’Keefe, is attending Ralph Reed’s Faith and Freedom Conference in Washington DC — even though he’s on federal probation and was ordered by a judge not to leave New Jersey to attend the event: Is James O’Keefe violating a federal court order?

Controversial right-wing activist James O’Keefe is in Washington DC today attending the Faith and Freedom Conference. O’Keefe is currently on federal probation after being found guilty in a case where “he was accused of trying to tamper with the phones in Sen. Mary Landrieu’s office.” Days ago, the AP reported that a federal judge had denied his request for permission to leave New Jersey to attend the conference. You can read the order here. Although it’s possible the judge reconsidered his decision, there are no reports that occurred.

UPDATE at 6/4/11 1:40:51 pm

False alarm; it turns out that a new order granted permission for O’Keefe to attend; see the ThinkProgress link above.

I am sure they would make an exception for “the future of investigative journalism”…

See the update - a new order was issued, granting him permission. False alarm.

What’s this conference about?

Please join Glenn Beck and I on June 3-4 in Washington, D.C and sign up today.

We will be joined by other conservative leaders including Gov. Pawlenty, Rep. Ron Paul, Gov. Jon Huntsman, Donald Trump, Speaker John Boehner, Gov. Mitt Romney, Herman Cain, Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, U.S. Senator Rand Paul, Senator Rick Santorum, Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, Rep. Michelle Bachmann, Rep. Allen West, Dick Morris, and so many others at the 2011 Faith & Freedom Conference and Strategy Briefing.

Okay. So all the GOP candidates are embracing the full Glenn Beck crazy.

That’s sad.

As most of us know the Tea Party started off as a Paulian/9-11 Truth/Code Pink/anti Bush movement which was briefly hijacked by the GOP. Now that the elderly wingnuts have given up Code Pink is back (with some new Tea Party type signs)

That’s sad.

Not to mention that the man in charge is Ralph Reed — a corrupt, cynical exploiter of religion, and one of the main conspirators in the Jack Abramoff scandal.

re: #5 Charles

I’m honestly disappointed in Huntsman. I thought he might be a force for rationality in the GOP.

Oh, don’t worry — they’ll still attack me. It’s already starting on Twitter.

And of course, if I were to delete the post to be responsible about not spreading a mistaken story, then they’d start screaming that I was trying to hide something.

I can now predict exactly what the response will be from the wingnuts to almost anything I post.

I’m honestly disappointed in Huntsman. I thought he might be a force for rationality in the GOP.

Not to mention that he’s currently suffering from the same delusions that Romney is: that if they gladhand and court the RR enough, the RR wingnuts will forget that they’re heathen Mormons and have track records as governors of their respective states (and for Huntsman, as Obama’s ambassador to China) that make them unworthy RINOs in the wingnuts’ eyes. I thought that Huntsman would have at least seen the writing on the GOP wall.

In other words, there’s a much, much better chance that Hell will get a ice skating rink in the near future than Romney or Huntsman getting on the 2012 GOP ticket.

Kokesh is a scary creep, or a creepy scare, or both. Not surprised to see he’s a “Russia Today” host.

He was ordered not to leave New Jersey?

Isn’t there something in the Bill of Rights forbidding cruel and unusual punishment?

Upding for the honesty.

Note to other bloggers: This is how you react when you find out you’re wrong! It’s called a honest admission, try it.

Good, let him stay in New Jersey, perfect place for a db like him.
