Shock! The Pic Breitbart Said He Wouldn’t Release Appears on the Internet

At least he can’t use it for blackmail now
Wingnuts • Views: 23,402

When he commandeered the microphone at Anthony Weiner’s humiliating press conference, Andrew Breitbart sleazily tried to blackmail Weiner by saying he had another, more graphic photo, and that he would hold on to it as “insurance” — to make sure Weiner didn’t try to go after him.

Imagine my overwhelming shock this morning to find that this picture has been posted on the Internet. Apparently Breitbart went out drinking and shared it with pretty much anyone who asked to see it, including radio hosts Opie and Anthony. Who promptly posted it. Shock!

(Sorry, no link — you can find it if you really want to see it.)

UPDATE at 6/8/11 10:58:40 am

Opie explains how they got the picture; Breitbart was showing it to everyone in their studio: Purported X-rated Weiner image released.

We had @ AndrewBreitbart on the show today and we prodded him to see the “pic” that was rumored to be out there. He finally passed his phone around to show a pic of @repweiner ‘s well “weiner”. I believe it was not @AndrewBreitbart ‘s intention to get the pic out there at this time. As the phone made the rounds around the room to @jimnorton @anthonycumia and myself the picture was captured by a video camera that was on! I did try to take a pic of @AndrewBreitbart ‘s phone but it came out blurry because @anthonycumia grabbed the phone. Wasn’t until @AndrewBreitbart left the studio that we realized what was captured on our video camera. #weinersweiner

According to Salon’s Justin Elliott, Breitbart hung up on him when Elliott asked him to comment on this.

Guys, guys.

It was the first time anyone talked to him drunk. Give him a break.

I am wondering when somebody who is not a friend is going to catch him in one of these bars. He seems delighted to make enemies who may be willing to do something nasty in return.

7 Shiplord Kirel  Wed, Jun 8, 2011 10:14:17am

I think most tea-baggers know that Breitbart fabricated his case against Shirley Sherrod and ACORN. They just don't have a problem with it because they are typically people who make their living from petty scams----- low-level marketing, health care supplements, preaching and such----- and actually admire this kind of behavior.

8 Obdicut  Wed, Jun 8, 2011 10:16:35am

And when is he going to apologize for that, and for lying about how he wouldn't do it?

Let's hope that doesn't happen, really. He'd just manage to spin himself as a victim and besides, what would be gained? Unless you're actually wishing him dead (which I'm sure you don't) it'll only help his cause.
And however gratifying a picture of AB with a nice big shiner might be, none of us wants that.

Unless a bagger crazy beats him up for being a RINO (there are freepers calling Palin a RINO so anything is possible.)

Just another sign of what an idiot Breitbart is. He's been showing this pic around for days just to get the attention of whoever happened to be around at the time. Could you imagine a real journalist doing this?

14 ProMayaLiberal  Wed, Jun 8, 2011 10:20:26am

Off topic, but I'm sure you heard the story about a Lesbian Blogger in Syria being abduted by Al-Assad's goons. They are morons. Apparently, they tried to get her in April, and this happened.

In April, she wrote about how her father faced down two security agents who came to arrest her, threatening to rape her and accusing her of being involved in a salafist plot.

They fail listening to fanatics forever.

okay that would be hilarious for sure. CelticDragon was referring to those he makes enemies out of - which tend not to be TP types. as long as it's not one of those I'm... sort of fine with him accidentally walking into a wall actually (not sure what that says about me as a person, but oh well).

it's just that if he can somehow manage to spin it as some librul beating him up, that's propaganda walhalla for him and his cronies, right at a time when you really don't want that (primary campaigns starting up, us all hoping for some relatively moderate GOP candidate...).

23 Jimmah  Wed, Jun 8, 2011 10:26:22am

I could be wrong, but I have a sneaky feeling that there are things about Breitbart's personal life that Breitbart wouldn't want us to know about. I have a further feeling that these things will be of the unexplainable number of wetsuits variety, or worse.

He got vicious, vicious blowback for that statement from Hate Aired and FreakRepublic. The big-money astroturfing teabag-funding Killionaire Koch brothers won't like it either.

I just think it illustrates an important point about Mittens. He's not the habitual flip-flopper devoid of any convictions apart from his own political aggrandizement that he is often caricatured as. That was a brave statement to make and I certainly applaud him for making it.

re: #43 Obdicut

I'd really be happy just to see someone who has at least some sense in them on the GOP ticket. Romney would be good for that. As far as politicians go I've never seen one who doesn't... phrase his opinions creatively... at times, so I don't really expect anything else. Then again, I'm a bit cynical in that regard.

still, wouldn't you rather see a Romney/whoever ticket rather than a Bachman-esque candidate?

either way I think it'll probably be a second term for Obama but the debate between him and Romney would be much saner than that between him and some of the more extreme GOP candidates. now a sane debate like that might do a LOT to at least draw the GOP back to a more sane position as a whole.

and yeah, I'd be finea little creative speech and a lie-to-the-base here and there to that end. wouldn't you?

Depends on what Romney is saying, and who he picks as VP. Honestly, there's not a hell of a lot of difference in policy between Bachmann and Romney on most important issues. This would represent a difference-- if he doesn't walk it back.

And if he, a la McCain, picks a total whackjob for a VP, that's also terrible. And I thin no matter what, if he gets the nomination, he'll have to pick a whackadoodle.

49 davesax  Wed, Jun 8, 2011 10:55:55am

No doubt, conservative politicians will start ranting about media indecency and will fine Breitbart for exposing the innocent public to this sickening display of nudity.

there is quite a big difference between Romney and Bachmann in the kind of rhetoric used, though. and that's what makes for a sane debate, mostly.

also I think the Palin debacle taught some valuable lessons to the GOP leadership. her shenanigans after losing the elections are what tipped them over to the crazy TP folks; I seriously doubt they want another loose cannon like that again.

then again, they might just risk it.

Maybe, although no whackodoodle he can pick will put him over the top against the incumbent. The GOP might have to swing the other way this time and get a moderate VP instead.

I don't think it was really brave -- he's been on record for a long time as accepting the science of climate change. His only choices were to "apologize" for it (as Tim Pawlenty did) or repeat his previous statements.

I predict he's soon going to either walk it back entirely and apologize like Pawlenty, or he'll try to split the difference and say climate change is real, but there's no need to do anything about it immediately.

On some right wing blogs, they're already trying to do this kind of clumsy triangulation.
