Herman Cain: I’ll Veto Bills Longer Than 3 Pages, Gays Are Sinners, Muslims Are Traitors

Pizza king spews bigotry in all directions
Wingnuts • Views: 51,364

Meanwhile, the real rising star of the Republican presidential race, Herman Cain, has announced that he will veto bills longer than three pages. And he wants a moat at the Mexican border, stocked with alligators. (Not a joke.)

Cain also believes homosexuality is a sin, and would require any Muslim appointees in his administration to take a special loyalty oath.

The Republican Party — focused like a laser beam on improving the economy.

Has Cain ever read any legislation proffered by Congress. Preambles and enacting language can sometimes run for several pages.

Heck, even the most modest of changes to the tax code would run for pages.

Appropriations bills are necessarily hundreds of pages long.

This guy is a 1D-10T error waiting to happen.

Based on this, any further material put out by Herman Cain longer than 3 pages should be deemed not worth reading.

8 Lidane  Thu, Jun 9, 2011 12:50:43pm

Dear Herman Cain,

You're a tool. Also legislation should be longer than a memo. Just because you can't sit still long enough to read anything that's longer than three pages isn't our problem.

Sincerely,
Sane America

Even if none of these nutjobs wins, their nonsense hurts America. This isn't even back-to-the-19th-century stuff. It's a downward spiral to playschool level.

Herman Cain is the favorite of the Killionaire Koch brothers:

What goes unremarked in such profiles is Cain's connection to the Americans for Prosperity Foundation, the organization founded by David Koch, and chaired by Koch himself...Go to the issues page of the Herman Cain for President Web site, and you'll find an agenda not unlike that of Americans for Prosperity -- in fact, almost exactly like that of Americans for Prosperity
...
When Cain's presidential candidacy was launched, it's likely that his AFP-linked backers never expected he would win the GOP presidential nomination, but that he would make an effective messenger for pushing the party further to the Koch positions. As it looks now, Cain could do even better than that, given the weak GOP presidential field. With each contest in primary season, contenders win delegates to the national convention, where the party platform is laid. Cain will likely do well in New Hampshire -- he could even win the state, as Patrick J. Buchanan did with his populist rhetoric in 1996. And with that win, and strong showings in a few other states, the Buchananites won control of the GOP platform, causing the legitimate candidate, Bob Dole, to run on a platform he could hardly stomach.

I wonder how many pages the following bills were:

The Civil Rights Act of 1964
The Clean Air Act
The Clean Water Act
The Bush Tax cuts

Would he have vetoed them all?

He's never even read the Uniform Commercial Code. I had to read it before a business law class back in undergrad. It went on for over 200 pages. I wanted to shoot myself, since that would have been more interesting, but at least it spelled out what can and can't be done.

Three pages? That's a memo that you send to your boss after you've spent 100+ pages solving whatever problem he has for you.

27 What, me worry?  Thu, Jun 9, 2011 12:55:51pm

Yikes, this is what the Right views as priority. What about this?

1. The economy is still in recovery.

2. Jobs aren't as available as they should be.

3. Protect Social Security and Medicare.

4. Immigration is an issue, not a problem, that can be dealt with reasonably. I didn't think that had anything to do with feeding Mexicans to alligators, but you learn something new each day, I guess.

5. Getting kids to excel in education.

6. Global warming - supporting bio tech, green technologies and planet safe energy.

7. Keeping science in school and religion left with the clergy.

That's just the beginning.

Not on my list are banning gays and loyalty oaths.

Well, they tried it with Palin as VP candidate, since, beyond trying to get the base behind McCain, they were also trying to get the disgruntled female Hillary supporters fed up with the "sexism" against Hillary.

"Well, I was going to vote for the female from the Democratic party, but since she lost, I'll just vote for anyone who doesn't have a penis, regardless of party or positions.

It's cowardly to hide behind him especially knowing they would NEVER support him in any other presidential race but this one. Sarah Palin would take 150 pages, 16 liters of ink, 27 bullet casings, 5 caribou antlers, and the sanity of 12 interns to tell you the sky is blue, so I doubt Cain has read her stuff (but then again, who here would want to read that?) Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if the notes lawmakers pass to each other are 26 pages long, just to ask when lunch was.

66 Robert O.  Thu, Jun 9, 2011 2:05:28pm

Honestly, is there even ONE semi-decent Republican candidate? The two moderates were supposedly Romney and Huntsman, but they are already competing to pull a "John McCain": disavowing any reasonable political view they actually held in order to appease the GOP base.

67 Petero1818  Thu, Jun 9, 2011 2:13:55pm

I will bet any amount of money that a Godfather's Pizza Franchise Agreement is not less than 25 pages. He didn't seem to have a problem approving any of them. Major asshole. He actually created a rebuttable presumption of guilt for Muslims in civil service in that interview. It was total insanity. The craziest part was that he thought he was totally out in front of it by saying that he would hire them, if they could rebut the presumption and prove that they would uphold the constitution. What he left out, is that his Constitutional Loyalty test included reciting the pledge of allegiance while eating a Wendy's "Baconator".
