Fox Host Eric Bolling: Obama Invites ‘Hoods’ to the ‘Hizzouse’

The ugliest Fox race-baiting episode yet
Media • Views: 37,510

Eric Bolling, the Fox Business host who often has genocide denier and anti-Muslim bigot Pamela Geller on his show, crossed a bright red line today into open racism. Media Matters was watching this nauseating display: Fox’s Eric Bolling: Obama Is Hosting ‘Hoodlums’ In ‘The Hizzouse’.

Media Matters

Pure racist hatred: they’re not even hiding it any more.

If you wanted to criticize President Obama for meeting with the Gabonese leader, it would be pretty easy to do this without sounding like a KKK member.

Bolling went right to the ugliest possible kind of rhetoric, and Fox put it on the air.

It's hard to express how disgusting this is.

Actually I find it easy: An asshole publicly insulted the president using ugly stereotypes about black people. The asshole did this to "entertain" bigoted assholes who want to believe the worst about the president.

Conjecture: the recent string of worse-than-expected economic reports has made the crazy Right overconfident. They believe that because of the economy the country will elect whomever they nominate for President; they expect to dominate Congress as well. Thinking that electability is no longer a concern, they no longer watch what they say as they plan to ram the candidate(s) of their dreams through the nomination process.

Roger Ailes:

According to historian Rick Pearlstein, Ailes suggested Nixon take a question from "A good, mean, Wallaceite cab-driver. Wouldn't that be great? Some guy to sit there and say, 'Awright, Mac, what about these n*****s?' " Pearlstein wrote, "Nixon then could abhor the uncivility of the words, while endorsing a 'moderate' version of the opinion. Ailes walked up and down a nearby taxi stand until he found a cabbie who fit the bill."

Ailes on 1988 strategy against Dukakis: "The only question is whether we depict Willie Horton with a knife in his hand or without it."

Reply: I disagree. The crazies still haven't settled on a candidate and if they don't fairly soon, they won't be able to have much of a say. Mitt Romney will be too far ahead to catch up to. No one else has his money or organization, and the further elements of the right don't make up a national majority of GOP primary voters. They might still carry the primaries in states like Mississippi, but still lose since primaries are a 50-state affair.

Well, I'll light a candle hoping that's correct DF, but the hatred in the base for the LDS makes Mitten's really unlikely to me. Personally, I'd like Romney as the candidate because it would be funny to have two Center Right candidates each pretending to be either more leftist or more right wing than they actually are.

1. The thing about crazies is, they're crazy.

2. If it's in Palin's self-interest to do a third-party run, she will. There are other third-party names that could divert enough votes to make the Republican candidate unelectable.

3. I agree that Romney is positioned well, but his nomination is not inevitable, nor is his election even if we get a double dip. There are a lot of scenarios that could play out.

Tell that to all the candidates who drop out after the first few states are done.

We could fix things fast and just run the primaries in CA first and basically lock up enough delegates to wipe out most of the other states and avoid a ton of nonsense.

The huge difference is that Obama is sitting in the White House. Republicans have been embracing dictators since the 1950s. Heck, it was Republicans who largely created and supported Saddam Hussein. There are others. They're talking out of their asses once again.

Once-secret Reagan administration documents on Iraq

The U.S. diplomatic courtship with Iraq in the 1980s continued despite Saddam Hussein's use of chemical weapons. Click on the links to read once-classified documents from the Reagan administration.Date: December 5, 1986 Subject: U.S.-Iraqi Relations: Picking Up the Pieces Summary: After disclosures that the United States was secretly providing weapons to Iraq's enemy, Iran, Assistant Secretary of State Richard Murphy recommends strengthening commercial ties with Saddam Hussein because "U.S.-Iraqi relations are in crisis." Read the documentDate: March 3, 1988 Subject: Iraq's Foreign Policy: Deeper into the Mainstream Summary: Anticipating an end to the Iran-Iraq war, a State Department official is optimistic that continued ties between the United States and Iraq will lead Saddam Hussein "deeper into the mainstream." The author concludes that "fears of Iraq's aggression seem exaggerated." Two weeks later, Iraqi forces attack Kurdish civilians in Halabja with poisonous gas. Read the documentDate: December 29, 1988 Subject: Export-Import Financing for Iraq Summary: In the closing days of the Reagan administration, the State Department's top human rights official argues that continued financial aid to Iraq "can simply not be squared with our worldwide human rights policy." However, Assistant Secretary of State Richard Murphy counters that U.S. financial ties with Iraq have "far greater use with Baghdad as a carrot than as a stick." A year and a half later, Iraq invades Kuwait. Read the document

You still did not sustain the "create" part of your charge, Gus. I agree those attempts to woo Saddam were not a good idea, but they did have a purpose. Despite some US support, Iraq was decidedly part of the Soviet sphere back in the 80's. The attempts to woo Iraq were intended to cut back Moscow's influence with a major oil producer. It was realpolitik, not very moral, but intended to support important national goals.

BTW, just watched an hour of CNN Presents on Innovation.

Quite depressing actually and totally in line with Republican simplistic faith in "no such thing as a nation", just reduce taxes and let the Mom and Pop's figure out how to build a global dominance in whatever is the next major innovation (EG life sciences, nanotech and more).

As an example, Apple, now the second most valuable company in the world after Exxon (no kudos to Exxon for innovation in that regard) employs some 50,000 people in the USA (actually that may be less), but employs as much as a million people in China to make the stuff that we buy from them.

Oh dear. Tell that to the Americans without jobs. No doubt they will agree to work with a lower thermostat setting if the jobs are brought back, without unions even.//

re: #86 albusteve

the oil business is a scam...if DC wasn't so bent over for them, I doubt Wall Street would have s much influence

Not a scam so much as the scam of "no regulation on anything". The reason oil, and you gasoline price is quite so high is because it has become the darling of speculators. I say "quite" because there is also all those employees of Apple in China who can afford cars suddenly, but a major reason is because the speculators can buy oil future on uncontrolled margins and keep the price high by putting down only a fraction of what they "buy".

If the rules went back to forcing them to put up more cash, the price would drop, but that means less money for the political contributors.

Take gold. The price has skyrocketed. Does anyone think all the survivalists are stocking their bunkers with gold to buy heritage seeds from Glenn Beck at the End Times? Is every housewife getting hubby to buy more bracelets?

No, speculators are driving the price, just like the housing bubble, on margins with little down.

The markets are driven by the people with cash, and no need to put most of it down. Sure they could lose big, but when you can influence the market yourself, the risks are worth the profit potential.

Similar factors affect the price of food stuffs. We feel it less than many because, so far, we spend less on food than much of the world; but that could change too.

So called private business in the USA (public actually, but owned by the whole planet) is sitting on trillions of dollars in cash, and unwilling to spend it, until the Republicans give them more tax breaks, although since they already pay almost no tax, that is just what they tell their uneducated representatives.

Excuse me while I go clear my mucus.

re: #90 albusteve

Not that easy to get near a tanker with explosives. Because tankers are vulnerable, access to them is controlled. As for infiltrating the TSA, think of it as a support function. Get a man on the inside, then use him to get your people into the country or onto an airplane. You'd have to get him out before an attack (TSA agents are on camera for pretty much their entire shift, so his letting the terrorists through would likely be on video), but if you had a plan to do that it might work very well.

That's an extremely serious charge. Regardless of my own mistrust of Rupert Murdoch, I must say I cannot credit that sort of allegation without direct evidence. "Connect the dots" won't do for a charge such as that, I'd need something direct that, as a stand-alone indicts such a fear and hate.

Of course O'Reilly is smart enough to move right to the edge of calling for vigilante justice, and then step back. But the killer got his ideas somewhere, quite likely Operation Rescue and shows like the O'Reilly Factor where the guy was vilified and his medical procedures mischaracterized to make him sound like Dr. Josef Mengele.

The Theocrat of the Week, Herman Cain, yesterday on Fox trying to defend his "Fair" Tax:

Sales taxes are not just anti-progressive, but the proposal as Cain pushes it is about as repressive as possible.

This is just a way so that rich people can reduce their tax load. That's all it is, and it is sold to the simpletons as something that will help them, and the latter are too dense to figure out the truth.

The Jewish community doesn't get swayed easily, in general. Long trends tend to be typical. Most especially, there's a tendency in the Jewish community to watch what politicians actually do, rather than say. This isn't a scientific study, just my observation of the attitudes of fellow Jews. Jews mainly vote Democratic and not Republican because they believe mostly in evidence-based voting.

This discounts the sad current trend of rabid anti-Obama-ism cropping up among some Jewish sub-groups, who are for some reason eating up the anti-Obama propaganda. I think it's starting to shift, but SFZ could tell you better.

Roll in rough chopped corn flakes.
Store in really cold freezer. (you need it solid)
Then:
Deep fry for 3 seconds.
Serve in glassware, something with a 3-4 inch stem, if possible.
Put whipped cream in dish.
Put fried ice cream in dish.
Top with caramel, hot fudge or whatever you like.
Top with more whipped cream.

Obama Administration Backs Argentina Over U.K. on Falkland Dispute

What a travesty and what shameful treatment of the people living there.

But typical of Obama.

Typical? Have you seen this?

OAS unanimous support for Argentina's Falklands' claim

As has been the rule the 37th Organization of American States Foreign Secretaries summit unanimously approved a declaration in support of Argentina's claim to the Malvinas/Falklands islands while Argentina pounded Britain for its unilateral actions ignoring cooperation understandings.

That's from 2007 which would mean that George W. Bush was in the White House. Unanimous implies all present voted yes on the resolution which would include the USA. None of which sides with the Malvinas claim anyway and just calls for a resolution.

US refuses to endorse British sovereignty in Falklands oil dispute
[Link: www.timesonline.co.uk...]

Despite Britain’s close alliance with the US, the Obama Administration is determined not to be drawn into the issue. It has also declined to back Britain’s claim that oil exploration near the islands is sanctioned by international law, saying that the dispute is strictly a bilateral issue.
....
“We are aware not only of the current situation but also of the history, but our position remains one of neutrality,” a State Department spokesman told The Times. “The US recognises de facto UK administration of the islands but takes no position on the sovereignty claims of either party.”
...
British officials in Washington said that they were comfortable with the US response to the dispute, but indicated that any American support for mediated negotiations would not be well received. It was “up to the islanders whether they want mediation or not”, one official said.

Hence the kerfluffle:

FTA quoted above:
[Link: www.foxnews.com...]

In a move one British conservative analyst called "hugely insulting to Britain," the Organization of American States earlier this week adopted a declaration calling for negotiations between the United Kingdom and Argentina over the "sovereignty" of the Falkland Islands. While the U.S. delegation did not speak in support of the measure, it ultimately joined a consensus adopting it.

Is it high due to demand (i.e.,,, lack of rentable houses/ apts)?

Here in Atlanta houses for rent/ lease are relatively cheap. Often for less than what the owner is paying for the mortgage just to offset some of the costs

Could be. I know from experience that anti-sprawl legislation only led/leads to higher housing or rental costs. That of course is typical in the region. I worked on a project in the Hayward Hills many moons ago. At first it started off having multi-family housing which could count as potential rental units. In the end the environmentalists forced it to have a reduced footprint so the developer opted for a luxury housing/golf course development. That again is typical around the country. So they have their open space only no one can afford to live there.

And no one builds the cheapo high density housing (apartments) like they did back in the 1970s. Forget about that in the metro areas around the country. There are reasons for this most of which are "man caused". And those cheapo buildings are where a lot of people live and can afford.

After hastily packing up their belongings, Sherry and Jason Kleis moved out of their flood-threatened Dakota Dunes home on June 5. Just two days later, the couple made a successful offer on a house in Sioux City's Morningside neighborhood.

"It was lightning fast," Sherry Kleis said. "We couldn't find anything to rent that had a good lease term. We kind of switched over to see if we could find something to buy."

They were not alone. Local Realtors say sales of homes on higher ground spiked after the swollen Missouri River forced the evacuation of more than 3,500 residents of the Dunes and other low-lying areas in southeast South Dakota.

There is a particularly nasty one that ended up sticking straight up in the air between two guardrails just before you hit my exit on the interstate. It's been there for weeks. I think they're leaving it as a sort of deer scarecrow.

Update on the "I'll break your f'ing face!" cop:

[Link: www.wivb.com...]

The officer says, "If you take my picture again, I'm going to [expletive] break your face. That's not as a police officer, that's as a person."

The video was posted to YouTube on May 28th. The author claims it was taken following a fight at Thursday at the Square in Buffalo.

"Don't take my picture again. Don't take my picture again," says the officer.

NFTA spokesperson Douglas Hartmayer says he first learned of the video Monday.

Hartmayer said, "I immediately looked at and bad is an understatement."
.....
"The officer was immediately suspended for two days by the chief for his actions and he's going through some remedial training right now," said Hartmayer.

Man accused of threatening Pres. Bush
[Link: www.wivb.com...]

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - Federal prosecutors have dropped charges against a Rochester area man accused of threatening former President George W. Bush.

24-year old Ian Rutunno had turned himself in to authorities near Binghamton, while driving to Washington, D.C. armed with a shotgun and handcuffs.

Prosecutors say Rotunno made the threats last October while at work in the Town of Gates.

Yeah,, wifey and I are in a "dinner club"

Basically, 4 couples and once a month one of the couples "hosts" dinner

There are about 36 couples in all in the "club", so every 4 months you're assigned a different group

Every time we host, the others start complimenting my wife for the meal, only to be told I'm the "chef"

I just want to say for the record that this person is racist and behind the times. Black people don't even say "hizzouse" anymore. Short list of schools he's looking at

FALLBACK (one he's sure to get in) Southern Polytech (just north of Atlanta)
We visited there about a month ago. Very impressive for a small in-state school

TARGETS,,, 1) Auburn. 2) Georgia Tech. 3) Virginia Tech

All things being equal, I wouldn't mind seeing him go to Auburn. Close enough to home (about a 2 1/1 drive) ,,, "traditional" campus (as opposed to intheheartofhtecity Ga Tech)

New Polls Show Romney Winning Over Weary Republicans

"A University of New Hampshire Survey Center poll released by The Boston Globe gave Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, a strong lead over his GOP brethren -- 41 percent of likely primary voters. The next closest candidate is former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, with 9 percent even though he has not said whether he will enter the race."

The only thing I can imagine being similarly intimidating as the MIT campus would be the music composition department at the University of North Texas.

Take the one thing that you love doing more than anything else, and that you justifiably believe you're really, really good at... and then dive into a pool filled with kids who can do that thing better than you to a degree that words can't even describe. And that's before classes even start.

Well, it's a free speech issue if you speak of being against gay marriage. It's a whole other when you support legislation or actions that deny others of rights or cause them to live under another set of rules.

So give me a break with the victimhood. It's within everyone's rights of free speech to call somebody a bigot or a homophobe. Deal with it, whiners.

Apple refusing to sell their bigotry apps isn't a violation of their "Freedom of Speech" - they can sell their apps through their own websites. It's simply a free market economy and the right of a business to refuse certain types of content...like porn. And that's all Apple has to say, "We don't sell porn either." So...remember the douche in NM who targeted his ex-girlfriend with a billboard alleging she had an abortion and who's a blatant, violent misogynist? No surprise here -- he apparently has an abusive past, too. This is what his ex-wife alleges:

I woke up yesterday to a huge shock……my ex-husband, someone I have been hiding from for 8 years now, all over the news. Let me give you the facts here…… This billboard isn’t the work of a grieving father, but that of a seriously disturbed and bitter man. Greg is fine until he believes he’s been betrayed in any way. Once he believes it, that's all she wrote. He has been know n to be extremely vindictive, abusive, and in my opinion, psychotic on many occasions. In 2003 I left him, after he broke my jaw with a cordless phone…. This was after 3 years of marriage, where I was not allowed to have friends, or speak with my family as he considered then to be bad influences. I was the bread winner, as I was forced to work 16 hour days, only to come home, hand my pay to him, clean the house and cook his dinner….what did he do? He watched 18 hours of porn a day…he didn’t work and had become very good at manipulating the system to remain on disability payments. After I left, he stalked me for years. I was forced to move nearly a dozen times in 2 years because he kept finding me, and went through at least that many jobs because of him….. He killed my dog when I refused to come back to him, broke into my apt, and much much more…. For the last 2 years since he moved to NM, I thought I was finally free of him, and then I wake up to this and now find that I’m being used in many places as an example of his disturbing past….. I hope that Nani realizes just how dangerous Greg really is, and is able to get more help from the police and courts than I was…..

Nobody actually likes Romney, so he's got little margin for error. If he picks the wrong VP, he's toast if you don't presume he's already toast. If he doesn't pick a TPer/Bible thumper/culture warrior then he loses a lot the base. If he does pick that kind of VP he loses a lot of independents. If Sarah Palin proved anything, it's that VP picks matter today. The economy will be the biggest issue overall, but the base of the GOP has shown no signs of easing up on cultural issues and cultural resentments. At some point no matter how long he is able to avoid it, Romney will have to prove that he is "one of them" and so will his VP candidate.

There was also a huge Dem turnout in 2008. Wonder how many will vote again, even though President Obama is already taking that into account and working on a get out the vote campaign.

The Prez really needs to buy back some of our enthusiasm. Getting the hell out of Iraq and starting home from Afghanistan would be a good down payment.

I can't believe Too Fast For Love was 30 years ago. Damn I'm old.

That record is still my favorite Motley Crue album.

If you can find the actual vinyl on Leather Records (original label), nice grab.

Yes-- That's why I could see Nikki Haley. She's TP but pretty sane about it. My guess would be Romney/Cain.

I think that's pretty spot on. It will also be interesting to see what happens with Governor's races and if the Republican lose the House. They've really made a huge mess out of their opportunity and it could cost them big time.

Cain is way too spooky. He's radical and probably as dumb as Palin. I don't think he'll get the VP slot.

re: #476 Cannadian Club Akbar

That's why I said Romney would play to the center. But like I said, they only need everyone on the same page for 1 day.

Well here's the thing about that. Romney can play to the center by avoiding IA and SC and even get the nomination doing so, but the base of the GOP has not and will not let up on the culture wars or their cultural resentments. Eventually Romney will have to state unequivocally whether or not he is with them on those issue because these are the issue that are most important to them. The economy is the overall most important issues for independents who haven't made up their minds or are still susceptible to changing their minds, but not for the GOP base. He can't play to the center forever, the base won't allow it and he won't be able to placate them and the rest of the country not see it or hear it. John McCain couldn't pull it off and he's was a much better and more likable candidate back in 2008.

Yeah that's another problem. States elect President's not people. In states that matter like FL, MI. WI, and OH Obama can run against Republican governance and ask the people of those states if they want the same thing in the White House. Obama's going to have to play a lot of defense, but the 2010 elections have allowed him to play a lot of offense too. If I were Romney I would not want to campaign with those governors or be tied to their policies.

Assuming the numbers have been accurate, the economy is the part that scares me. It's also very vulnerable to a debt-ceiling FU. Then Obama's only hope would be to do a good job of tying the second dip to Boehner's ass.

Well, the numbers don't really matter. In the sense that its people individual perception that really matters. Enough of a media blitz showing people-in-rough-situations-finally-improving-their-lot-thanks-obama! and he can probably pull it off. If the Republicans fuck with the debt ceiling Obama wins by default, after the first default.

Outside of Atlanta (and not WAY outside,,, within 30 minutes of downtown) you can find 3 bedroom/ 2 bath apts for under $800 a month

Not "brand new", but not at all shabby

All the usual amenities
Pool, dishwasher, playground, laundry facility on site, etc

Those are Portland prices, within city limits

The GOP has the South no matter who they run, except FL and maybe NC, VA. I'm not going to work or donate here in AL. I'll spend some time carpetbagging in FL, doing things the new voter suppression law still permits.

Actually, McDonnell in VA would be his best pick for VP. He's from a state Obama won and I don't think he's horrifically unpopular. But he's also kinda Romney like and a double dose of Romney could be a mistake. Like I said, nobody really like the first Romney.

I have a hard time imagining the Republicans picking up Florida this time around. The Ryan plan to kill medicare alone would sink them. Add on the Florida republican cuts in social services, education, etc. Republicans are going to have a very hard time.

There will be no default on the debt ceiling. The GOP's real masters, Wall Street and corporations, won't allow it. The TPers are still the rubes that make up the base, but the money guys are pulling the strings and calling the shots.

They won't need a default, just screwing around towards the drop-dead date will kill the recovery.
