Al Gore Says, ‘Good for Mitt Romney’ - Wingnuts Spew Hatred

Further endearing Romney to the right wing
Environment • Views: 22,873

I agree with Al Gore, and congratulate Mitt Romney on his refusal to be an ignorant jackass (like every other Republican candidate) on the vitally important issue of climate change: Al’s Journal : Good for Mitt Romney — though we’ve long passed the point where weak lip-service is enough on the Climate Crisis.

While other Republicans are running from the truth, he is sticking to his guns in the face of the anti-science wing of the Republican Party.

I wonder how the right wing will react to this endorsement?

I’m kidding — I already know how they’ll react, and the crazed cult at Free Republic doesn’t disappoint: Leftist Delusional Global Warming Freak Al Gore praises Mitt Romney for his stance on Global Warming.

Repeated from downstairs:

Along those lines:

Former Rep. Inglis to Launch Conservative Coalition to Address Climate Change

“What I hope to do is be a part of an effort that calls conservatives to return to conservatism and to turn away from the populist rejection of science,” Inglis said. He conceded that he expects this message to take at least two election cycles to take root, given today’s political climate.

No kidding, at least two election cycles.

I seriously doubt that Inglis can make much headway very quickly.

I wonder if Romney felt he had to pick at least one topic on which to differentiate himself from the Paulian/Cain/Bachmann crowd, and chose AGW as the least damaging?

JACK-IN-THE-SKINNER-BOX

Yes, there’s nothing more surprising and satisfying than a clown popping out of a small box. But only the most ADD-addled child will still be startled by the third or fourth turn of the crank.

Thanks to the Jack-in-the Skinner-Box, however, every time is sure to be a new experience. The fun begins the moment you close the lid. That’s because inside we’ve installed new behavioral psychology technology that allows us to conduct numerous environmental conditioning experiments. One time Jack will be repeatedly shocked with electrodes. Another time his floor may instantly heat up. Maybe screaming voices will constantly belittle him or rats will come pouring into his container.

Whatever the action the reaction is sure to be priceless as Jack comes shooting out of his box, shaking violently, referring to himself as “Other Jack,” speaking in a language all his own making or simply pleading, “For the love of God, kill me!”

You never know what you’ll get with the one toy that’s bound to be as startled as you are.

After Accepting $290,000 from Tobacco Industry, House Conservatives Push ‘Cigarettes For Children’ Amendment

Last week, the House Appropriations Committee approved an amendment by Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-MT) that would immunize the tobacco industry against many FDA regulations preventing them from making tobacco more addictive and marketing it to children. According to a joint statement by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, the American Heart Association and the American Lung Association and the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids:

[T]he amendment would curtail the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA’s) authority to regulate the contents of tobacco products. It would severely limit the kind of evidence FDA could consider in regulating tobacco and other products and eliminate the FDA’s ability to stop tobacco companies from adding ingredients that make their products more attractive to children and minorities, or more addictive and more difficult to quit using. Bingo!

Uncertainty is an inherent element of honest science. But in the political sphere, uncertainty has been harnessed as an alibi for denial and inaction. The military, however, operates under conditions of uncertainty all the time. Like scientists, they wade through the unknown to assess varying degrees of risk. As CNA Corporation put it, military leaders “don’t see the range of possibilities as justification for inaction. Risk is at the heart of their job.”

Poor Koalas. Climate change and the clap.

[Link: www.telegraph.co.uk…]

A conservation group has warned that overdevelopment, disease, climate change, and sexual disease are killing off the species.

The Australian Koala Foundation has urged the government to list the species as vulnerable after it found there may be as few as 43,000 of the tree-dwelling animals left on the mainland.

The figures show that koala populations have fallen sharply since the last survey in 2003, when it was estimated that there were 100,000 in Australia
.
A study carried out by the foundation earlier this year found that since then the mainland population had fallen to between 43,000 and 80,000.
If the rate of “drastic decline” continued unchecked, the koala could vanish in 30 years, the group warned.

The foundation said its research confirmed years of anecdotal reports of dwindling populations along the east coast.

“I think it will be very hard for anyone to walk away from this data.

We have a very high level of confidence that it accurately shows a drastic decline,” said the foundation’s chief executive, Deborah Tabart.

Large numbers have been killed by an outbreak of chlamydia, a sexually transmitted disease, while others have been affected by loss of habitat due to deforestation and climate change, she said.

Hotter, drier conditions had also reduced the nutritional value of their staple food, eucalyptus leaves, leading to fatal malnutrition.

CENSORSHIP! Dems Cry Foul Over GOP Interference With Medicare Mailers

A bitter, behind-the-scenes fight over the GOP’s Medicare phase-out plan has bubbled out into the open, and now Democrats are openly charging Republicans with censoring their communications with constituents.

Several House Democrats are petitioning House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), in a letter first reported by Roll Call, to step in and stop Republicans on the House Administration Committee from blocking Democratic Medicare mailers.

The controversy arose in the wake of the special election in New York’s conservative 26th district, where Democrat Kathy Hochul defeated her GOP challenger, who supported the Republican Medicare plan. Before then, Democrats had fired off mail to constituents warning that the plan would “kill” or “end” Medicare, without objection.

Since then, several Democrats have seen their mailers delayed, with Republicans demanding strict revisions — both to identical language they had approved before and even to milder critiques. Those Dems are crying foul.

re: #73 Obdicut

I’d love it if it became an urban legend.

It’s true…I read it on the internets - Swastika shaped anuses…amazing.

That’s because they assumed none of the students would read those.

Must have been surprised by the sudden surge in the 871-872 withrawls.

I don’t see any coding when I put in the address Youtube gives for embedding.

Take two of these and call me in the morning.

Or let me know if that doesn’t help…

I’ll wager it’s because none of the teachers or administrators read those.

Full disclosure: neither have I.

Sports Illustrated was censored—we took what we could find.

Speaking of anuses…Matthews is mocking “Newtiny” right now. (Newt’s the anus in this case)

I agree with Al Gore, and congratulate Mitt Romney on his refusal to be an ignorant jackass (like every other Republican candidate) ….

Charles, I take issue with calling Republicans ‘jackass.’ A jackass is a noble creature that has unwaveringly supported human endeavor throughout the growth of this great nation. Republicans? Not so much.

I think a more appropriate term would be moran.

Regards,

Order of the Noble Braying Jackass
