This is as good a place as any to mention that I removed the “Clicks” counters from the LGF Pages, because they weren’t really showing anything meaningful.

They were originally intended to count the number of outgoing clicks to external sites, but since LGF Pages developed, those links now go to the LGF Page itself, instead of directly to the external site. The numbers bordered on being random, i.e. 22, 29234, etc. So it just didn’t make sense to keep those antiquated counters around. Saves code and loading time to get rid of them.

The tweet counters, as always, show the number of incoming links from the shortened URLs that are posted on Twitter when you use our retweet buttons — in other words, the Twitter traffic. There’s apparently been some confusion about this, but the fact is that bit.ly doesn’t track the number of times a particular link is “retweeted”; the only meaningful statistic you can access through their REST API is the number of clicks on links that go through their service.

Ed Morrisey on Chris Wallace’s apology….

As Wallace says, every day is a learning experience. More than a few people in his position would be tempted to dig in and defend a poor choice. Kudos to Wallace for learning a lesson and admitting to it.

Of course that same rule doen’t apply to Bachmann herself. She’d never admit any of her crazy theories and outright lies because she doesn’t need to. Her fans don’t care.

As Chávez recovers from mystery illness, successor unclear for Venezuela

Despite assurances by government leaders and the president’s family that he is on the mend and will be home “in 10 to 12 days,” the lack of detailed information about Chávez´s condition has brought inevitable speculation that it could be life-threatening. El Nuevo Herald on Saturday quoted a source saying that Chávez was “in critical condition, not grave, but critical, complicated.”

Surrounded by “yes-men” and with his ruling Socialist (PSUV) party divided by faction-fighting and short on leadership, Chávez would leave a vacuum that might be impossible to fill, Venezuela observers say…

On June 14, Chávez telephoned Venezuela’s state-run VTV television channel to say he was “in full control of his faculties” and recovering well. On Wednesday, his brother Adan Chávez returned from Cuba and said that the president “was recovering in a satisfactory manner.” He predicted that Chávez would be back in Venezuela in 10 to 12 days.

But it was not until Thursday that messages from the president began appearing again on his normally active Twitter account. On Friday, the account was used to salute the country’s military.

“A big hug to my soldiers and to my beloved people,’’ the message said. “From here, I am with you in the hard work every day.”…

OT: A New Pumping Device Brings Hope for Cheney

The pumps are partial artificial hearts known as ventricular assist devices, and they come in various models. Mr. Cheney’s kind is about the size of a D battery and leaves most recipients without a pulse because it pushes blood continuously instead of mimicking the heart’s own pulsatile beat. Most such pulse-less patients feel nothing unusual. But they are urged to wear bracelets or other identifications to alert emergency room doctors as to why they have no pulse.

Insert joke here.

Drudge has gone from nuisance to menace. He is still hyping his “black people behaving badly” theme, with short breaks for “Mexicans behaving badly” and the occasional guest appearance by “TSA behaving badly.”

My tea party neighbor is swallowing this hook, line, and sinker. He is convinced there is a nationwide uprising by black youth and their cohorts, and that this has happened because Obama has made them uppity.
He does not understand that Drudge is taking run-of-the-mill local crime stories, hyping them on the national stage, and presenting them in a way that suggests both something new and a pattern.

On the other hand, this neighbor is pretty far out there even for a TPer. How far out is he? Well, today, he is up on his roof repairing shingles in the record 114 degree heat, lest the non-existent rain get in.

51 jaunte  Sun, Jun 26, 2011 4:14:00pm

Here’s a Venezuelan blogger hoping Chavez isn’t getting off easy:

With such an end for Chavez, he will become a hero of sorts, a mythical figure and chavismo will last for decades more. Exactly as it happened in Argentina when after his return Peron died just before things started getting worse and as such peronism could survive Isabelita, Lopez Rega, Videla, the Falklands, etc, etc… as it was, of course, not of Peron’s making. That Peron was at the source of all of this did not matter, he was not alive during these crisis. If Cristina is at it today it is becasue Peron died conveniently 4 decades ago.

To get a chance to be a renewed country Venezuela needs to oust Chavez in such a way that he can go to trial, alive and well to understand the charges, and collapse in nerves on the accused stand.daniel-venezuela.blogspot.com

The clip isn’t about people who disagree with him but people who claim he’s playing a game in Haiti to benefit himself. That would piss me off too. I suspect it would piss you off. The die from rectal cancer is a bit over the top, but it’s also kinda funny.

The idea that you go to hell if you disobey god is from a fear based religion, and the NA aboriginals were driven off the land, sometimes quite violently. As for the corrupt government, that’s a stupid thing to say given all the good the US has done and the safeguards in place to prevent corruption, even if the US has done some dumb things in the past.

What is the problem with discussing a country’s failings as well as it’s successes?

As for Penn’s attitude towards the US, wasn’t the idea of free speech originally about making sure Americans can speak out against the government without fear of government retribution? It was all about preventing a totalitarian government, was it not?

While I don’t care for Penn’s politics (or associations for shitheads like Chavez) at all, I think he’s a pretty decent actor and a pretty good humanitarian (for the most part, especially in Haiti). The problem with Penn is that he’s been sort of typecast in the political arena as Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High by those who don’t like him and want to marginalize him, because that’s the role most associated with him, right or wrong.

If Penn and his organization are doing half the stuff he was talking about and doing when Bourdain did his show down in Haiti post-quake, he’s doing a hell of a lot of good for people that need it…and that’s all that really should matter in the end, IMO.

He came here with a personal photographer and another person, to “rescue” people from the waters of Katrina. Apparently, our guys in the Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries, who were trained to do this work and who were working 24/7, couldn’t do the job well enough to satisfy Mr. Penn.

Now, I think he meant well, I really do. But he shows up here, gets into a boat with his photographer and apparently also with Douglas Brinkely, to go rescue people. Only he forgot to put the plug in the boat, and pert’ near went under. Meanwhile, a couple of rescue-trained W&F agents were assigned to make sure he didn’t hurt himself.

Again, I think he meant well. But for gawd’s sake - why come down here and present yet one more thing for folks to have to look out for? I mean, he just didn’t think it through. He was in the way.

According to Douglas Brinkley, they rescued 40 people. Oh, yay. I suspect the W&F folks would have rescued those folks just as well.

Besides which, while I at one time had a lot of respect for Douglas Brinkley, after I read his Katrina book, I lost all respect for him - it was a Blanco cover-up. He absolutely minimized her mistakes - I didn’t have to read about it, I was here and watched it unfold in real time. His account of Blanco in his book has been sanitized. Brinkley and his family, of course, being good buddies with the Blancos. So, Brinkley may say he and Sean Penn rescued 40 people that day. I tend to - doubt it.

re: #75 talon_262

Penn’s problem with his humantarian work is that he doesn’t think things through, IMO. He will often get in the way when he intends to help, and I have no doubt in my mind that his intentions are good. But he just doesn’t think.

And since I notice that a lot of right wing bloggers are promoting another lie that I “rigged” the tweet counters — I may have confused the terminology and called them “retweet counters” a few times, which isn’t quite accurate, but I explained in depth about what the button did (it creates a “retweet” post for Twitter) and what the counters showed, in this post:

Tech Note: Retweet Code Revamp

If I were really trying to fool anyone, I went about it in a really stupid way — by telling everyone what I was up to, in great detail.

Nothing is rigged. The numbers show the number of clicks on the shortened links posted to Twitter — which is what you want to know, if you’re measuring traffic. Who cares if someone “retweets” your link, if it doesn’t result in a click? The clicks are the meaningful statistic.

And it’s hard to argue that I’m “rigging” them, when they come directly from bit.ly — and anyone can go and use bit.ly’s analysis tools to confirm that their click numbers exactly match the numbers shown at LGF. If LGF shows 16660, bit.ly will show 16660.

There’s also the simple fact that even if I wanted to show the “retweet” count for some reason, you can’t even do that with bit.ly. Their API returns the number of clicks on links shortened with their web services. Period. Nothing about “retweets.”

The people promoting this idiotic attack have no idea what they’re talking about. They’re literally making a huge deal of absolutely nothing, as usual.

Of course that same rule doen’t apply to Bachmann herself. She’d never admit any of her crazy theories and outright lies because she doesn’t need to. Her fans don’t care.

Wallace gets held to a somewhat higher standard. His questions on the issues were fine, but “Are you a flake?” is a fairly insulting thing to ask. It didn’t merit a grovel, but that does merit an apology.

Michele Bachmann denies benefiting from government aid

Rep. Michele Bachmann deflected allegations Sunday that she and her immediate family had benefited from government assistance despite her demands to cut the federal budget, saying hundreds of thousands of dollars for her family farm and a counseling clinic went to employees and her in-laws.

“My husband and I did not get the money,” the Minnesota Republican said on Sunday news shows one day before officially opening her presidential campaign in Waterloo, Iowa — her birthplace.

So I can assume that Michelle made no profit from the farm and clinic then, right?

Her argument was absurd, and I hope she is taken to task. She argued the clinic got no benefit the money was to train employees. One would think a lawyer could make the logical leap that if the payment was to the clinic, and the employees of the clinic got trained as a result of the money and continued to work at the clinic, Bachmann absolutely benefited from the funds. Likewise, she claims it was her father in law’s farm, but she has claimed income from the farm on tax returns. Just more lies god told her to tell I guess.

Meanwhile…She wants to cut veterans benefits among other things:

Michelle Bachmann proposed $400 billion in “real and necessary” budget cuts in federal spending to avoid raising the budget ceiling from $14.3 trillion. The cuts include capping increases in Department of Veterans Affairs’ health care spending and reducing Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) payments for veterans, all to save a total of $4.5 billion.

However, health care costs are rising anyway, meaning less care, and SSDI payments are only $12,800 a year, according to the Air Force Times:

Her list of cuts doesn’t explain the impact of freezing veterans’ health care funding, but the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) said in a report issued in October that health care costs have been quickly increasing. VA’s health care budget was $44 billion in 2009, $48 billion in 2010 and is at $52 billion this year. The report forecasts a health care budget of $69 billion or higher by 2020 if trends continue, the report estimates.

Another measure in her cuts is to repeal “Obamacare,” which she claims has “unknown” savings. Actually, the CBO measured that its repeal would not save, but add $230 billion to the deficit over 10 years.

See her proposed cuts here: (pdf)

She won’t be. She just fired a broadside across the bow of any would-be interviewers today, and after the trouble Wallace got into it’ll be some time before anyone goes after here again. Although Chris Wallace’s mistake really was a gaffe, the rest of the interview was rock-solid.

Cutting veteran’s health spending is not an acceptable position and she’s going to get killed with it. Paul Ryan left that spending alone for a reason, but Bachmann is too fanatical to understand that reason. She’ll soon learn how hard it is to wrap your self in the American flag while fucking over its defenders:

For it’s Tommy this, an’ Tommy that,
And “Chuck ‘im out, the brute!”
But its “savior of ‘is country” when the guns begin to shoot!

Then it’s Tommy this, an’ Tommy that
And everything you please.
But Tommy ain’t no bloomin’ fool,
You bet that Tommy sees!

There are some nasty big crows in Japan.

A couple of times when I was traipsing around the remoter areas of Nara Park, away from all the people, I’d walk along (looking for things to photograph) and be startled by crows sitting on fences. Huge, and stubborn - they didn’t seem at all like they were afraid of me and wouldn’t move. I think they hung around to pick up food normally given to the deer. Anyway, crows definitely have attitudes.

We have crows like that here in Chicago. Only here, they don’t move because you can’t chase them. They’ve got clout from roosting near the mayor’s house and their bribes are up to date.

Here’s a story of a particularly bullshit allegation flung at Israel:

Israel denies fiscal pressure on Greece to block flotilla boats

erusalem (CNN) — The Israeli foreign ministry on Sunday rejected as “ludicrous” suggestions that Israel and the United States were using economic pressure to force fiscally strapped Greece into preventing boats from participating in an international flotilla to Gaza.

“Do these people have any proof whatsoever to such claims?” asked Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor. “Their entire activity is aimed at demonizing the state of Israel. What are they saying, that we have used all the Jewish bankers in the world to cancel Greece’s bonds? What kind of fantasy world are they living in?”

Organizers of one boat planning to join the flotilla, the U.S.-registered Audacity of Hope, released a statement Sunday asking the Greek government to explain why the leased vessel was being prevented from leaving a Greek port.

Passengers and crew say they are being told the boat cannot depart because of concerns about its seaworthiness and the need for further inspection.

Trip participants rejected the explanation, claiming the boat was safe. They suggested economic pressure was being brought to bear on Greece.

“Israel has said openly that it is pressuring governments to try to stop the flotilla, and clearly Greece is a key government since several of the boats plan to leave from Greece” passenger Medea Benjamin said in a news release by the boat’s organizers. “It is unconscionable that Israel would take advantage of the economic hardship the Greek people are experiencing to try to stop our boat or the flotilla.”

In the news release, the boat organizers — U.S. Boat to Gaza — suggested without offering proof that political leverage was being used with the International Monetary Fund in a bid to compel Greece to block flotilla ships from departing.

“Those nasty JOOOS are using their seekrit financial power to keep us from exposing their crimes! But we’re only helping people, we’re not anti-Semetic!”

166 darthstar  Sun, Jun 26, 2011 9:22:02pm

Had dinner with a friend tonight - couldn’t believe he was going to leave a $6 tip for a $44 bill. I waited until he was walking away and threw another five spot on the tray…sorry, but I paid 118 bucks for green fees and a cart and he spends 18 bucks on beer and complains about not stopping at a store before we got to the course where we could have saved 10 bucks. I’m all for being a responsible spender, but sometimes you just have to relax and enjoy the moment - even if it costs a few extra dollars. We got paired with a couple of regulars who played much better than us…they were quite polite and understanding. By the sixth hole though, I was so fed up with his cussing and dropping an extra ball every time he fucked up that I started heckling him - but only for a couple of holes…then I decided I’d be better off drinking beer and playing the shots I enjoyed - and I stopped scoring…oh yeah, the fucker subtracted two to three strokes every hole! “That was a seven”—no it wasn’t…it was a nine or ten you self-absorbed dick. But hey, I parred two holes today!

OMG! Am I bitching about golf? Damn…I’m not…I’m just bitching about hanging out with someone who really needs to learn how to relax, because it’s fucking exhausting to be around him.

(On the BART home, a young man was pulling girls by telling them that his ass had been squeezed a number of times by gentlemen at the house party he stopped into, and ‘now I understand what you ladies go through’. Bachmann, in birth town of Waterloo, gives preview of presidential speech

[…]

“I like her willingness to speak out and not be afraid,” said Mark Wikner, 69, a retired engineer from the John Deere plant that is a top employer here. “Every time I hear her, she’s very articulate on the issues and she recognizes we have a huge debt and we’ve got to do something about it.”

Bachmann showed a different side from that of a bomb-throwing critic of President Obama that has made her a mainstay of cable news shows. While she took a few jabs at the White House, she cracked a few jokes and lingered more on the positive. She spoke about restoring the country to its former glory, exemplified by the values of the heartland and the culture that prevailed when she was growing up here.

She and others like her talk an awful lot about that, but they never define it. But it would not do them well to be specific, nor do they need to be. Goofy nonsense like “My grandparents didn’t need to lock their doors at night” and other such bogus platitudes seem to do the trick.

It is vagueness with a purpose. This “Former Glory”. This fictional “Golden Age”. Undefined because it works best that way. Hiding the fiction and the fascism.

This “golden age” stuff really creeps me out. As an amateur historian (albeit a highly accomplished one), I am acutely aware of just how bad things were even in the recent past. This kind of appeal works best with older people who feel left behind by the modern world, and whose memories aren’t so good.

Being 62 years old also gives me some first hand knowledge of at least part of that alleged golden age. The various faux-nostalgists who idealize the 60s are especially laughable, in a gruesome kind of way. It was an age of strife and confusion, when you could be forced into the army at gun point or, conversely, beaten to death because “love it or leave it” types did not like your haircut. There were no laws against sexual harassment and the objectification of women was a cultural fetish, almost a science. Deodorant came in spray cans with chlorofluorocarbon propellants and nobody thought anything of it. Even the most basic of pollution controls brought howls of protest from car manufacturers and car enthusiasts. There were 3 tv networks and about 10 guys who all knew each other decided what you did and didn’t see on the evening news. We remember the classic rock of the time, and that truly was a golden age, but most pop music was garbage, justly forgotten today. The same was true of movies and tv dramas, where the leaden plot-lines and wooden characters competed with the screeching, dissonant musical scores in an apparent effort to destroy American taste and sensibility forever.

Also in the parade was, I’ve learned, a giant scary blow-up effigy of Ahmedinejad, although I did not see that until the photos were posted later. Iran 180 brought that, and with great self-control, did not set it on fire. Probably gave little kids nightmares.

I’m also anxiously awaiting for the wingnuts to side with the Chavistas if things get ugly in Venezuela. They did it with Q’Daffy, they’ll do it with Chavez.

Huh? You cannot be serious. From the perspective of most of the RW, including “wingnuts”, Chavez is a wannabe Castro, building for himself dictatorial powers in VZ.

Well, hell, that’s exactly what he is.

If anybody sided with Chavez, it was Obama. Both C and O wanted the same outcome in Honduras, if memory serves. There was a president who was limited by that nations constitution to so and so many terms, and he wanted another one. The military stepped in and showed him the door. Good job. Their duty, as it would be the duty of ours, is to uphold and defend their nation’s constitution.

C and O preferred the other outcome, where El Presidente became in effect President For Life. Because once you scrap the law and hold office “one more term”, it’s game over.

Seattle Times special report: Twisted ethics of an expert witness
seattletimes.nwsource.com

For a quarter century Greenberg testified as an expert in forensic psychology, an inscrutable field with immense power. Purporting to offer insight into the human condition, he evaluated more than 2,000 children, teenagers and adults. His word could determine which parent received custody of a child, or whether a jury believed a claim of sexual assault, or what damages might be awarded for emotional distress.
….
But his formidable career was built upon a foundation of hypocrisy and lies. In the years since Greenberg’s death, while court officials wrestled over his estate, The Seattle Times worked to unearth Greenberg’s secrets, getting court records unsealed and disciplinary records opened.

Those records are a testament to Greenberg’s cunning. They show how he played the courts for a fool. He played state regulators for a fool. He played his fellow psychologists for a fool. And were it not for a hidden camera, he might have gotten away with it.

He kept thinking that there had been a mistake, that he’d be out in no time. That the system, set into motion by some misunderstanding or act of malice, would soon correct itself.

That was before the detective informed him of the charges, and before the article in the Ventura County Star. “Man held after woman found raped and tortured,” read the headline, and there was his name, along with a quote from a police officer: “In 19 years of police work, this has to go down as one of the most brutal attacks I have ever seen.”

So? You can still bring in the verdict. Perhaps that court ruling is under appeal. Perhaps the appeal will be successful. If not, the sentence is downgraded to life in prison. —-that is, assuming no Rose Bird type justice is at work. In that case, the sentence will be lifted entirely, and Casey will be told she’s free to go.

Dear Leader steps in to the shoes of Great Leader. Baby Doc follows in the footsteps of Papa Doc.

It’s an old story.

If he’s actually dead, I’m not sure it will work that way in Venezuela. He doesn’t have a successor that has been entrenched in the system for decades lilke Baby Doc. It could end up being a big mess and I hope it spells the end of his political lineage.

re: #281 RogueOne

I checked the “conscientious objector” box on my jury form and they called me in anyway. After asking me about it, and all the people I know that have been locked up, I’ve been blacklisted. I was honest but sometimes I wonder if I should have kept my mouth shut. I don’t think it’s going to help if everyone who has doubts about how are system functions gets taken out of the jury pool.

I was called for a drunk driving case and they asked us what if the blood alcohol test came back right on the line, would we convict? I said I’d like to know whether the law said it’s a crime to test at the line, or did it say it’s a crime to be at the line. Also, I’d like to know something about the accuracy to be expected from the test.

Then came the chemistry professor juror candidate. They asked him [well, they didn’t quite put it that way, but this was what they were getting at] what did he think about my silly qualms, and didn’t he at least understand that it had been scientifically measured. And he answered that measurement doesn’t work that way.

The prosecution was having a bad time of it. The funny thing is, I would have voted to convict, most likely. There are precious few people who can be at or even near the line and yet pass a field sobriety test with flying colors. And that, to me, would have been the tiebreaker.

Big local news story over the weekend:

indystar.com

A Hamilton County man has been charged with murder and animal cruelty after his wife and cat were found dead in a Kentucky hotel room.

Elizabethtown police said Lonnie Daughtery, 37, Noblesville, was arrested at 2:15 p.m. Saturday at the Holiday Inn Express. Officers said they found Michele Daughtery, 45, and the cat inside a room at the hotel.

Police said that Lonnie Daughtery told them he was helping his wife commit suicide. Elizabethtown Police Sgt. Tim Cleary told The News-Enterprise that Lonnie Daughtery didn’t say why his wife wanted to commit suicide but said he strangled her to aid in the attempt.

She asked him to choke her and the cat to death….yeah, I don’t think anyone is going to buy that story.

Not much. People here don’t eat fruit or veg. There was a farmer’s market this weekend and all they had was meat, fish, and dessert stuff. No produce! Lord I miss the farmer’s markets in nyc.

Who knows the best internet provider for Los Angeles? My mom & sister came home from vacation yesterday, and found out that my mom’s wireless access has been disabled. Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. Looks like the S.Ct. struck down the CA video game statute on 1st Amendment grounds. Video games qualify for 1st Amendment protections. The CA statute could not meet the strict scrutiny test - that it was justified to enact the statute by a compelling government interest and that the law was narrowly written to serve that interest.

It was 7-2 decision, with Breyer and Thomas dissenting. Thomas dissented on originalism grounds while Breyer has once again shown himself to be the justice who has the most narrowly drawn 1st Amendment grounds.

370 lawhawk  Mon, Jun 27, 2011 7:33:23am

So, the ICC has issued arrest warrants for Khadafi, his son, and another trusted minion on war crimes/crimes against humanity charges for his brutal crackdown against opposition groups.

That’s good news, but where’s the ICC to issue similar warrants against Assad and his minions? After all, they’re doing precisely the same thing without nearly so much scrutiny. Everyone seems focused on Libya, but Syria continues its brutal crackdown.

It would seem that because the Syrian opposition isn’t nearly as well formed as the Libyan opposition, the Libyian cause is being promoted while the Syrians are relegated to the back pages.

Saw the headline and started reading it,, BUT,, here’s the question I have

Video games have ratings on them just like movies do

SO ,,,will the next step be that minors can go to R rated and XXX rated movies, and if not, why not (i.e. whats the difference)

IIRC, the movie ratings are a ‘voluntary’ self-regulating system, like the old Comics Code. Both were accepted by their industries to avert threatened legislative action. Producers don’t have to have their movies rated, but it’s economic suicide to buck the theater chains.

re: #373 sattv4u2

The movie ratings (MPAA) are a voluntary exercise by the studios to prevent government intrusion. That differs significantly from CA’s statute that would prohibit sales to certain classes.

The MPAA ratings were designed to preempt a state or federal government from instituting its own ratings system. Video games have a similar voluntary rating (ESRB) while TV ratings have another voluntary ratings guide (movies carry the MPAA G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17).

I went to see “8 Mile” with my younger brother and his GF. They wanted EVERYONE’S ID to let them in. Everyone was of age so no problem there. Just didn’t understand the logic.

I understand and agree with all that, but as stated, now if a minor can go into a video store and purchase a game thats “above” his age setting then whats to stop someone from arguing the same thing so he (the same minor) can go to a theater or a video store to view/ rent/ purchase Debbie Does Dallas

I’m not sure it’s a trend. I think it’s something the media can call a trend and get people to watch stories about, but after decades of media frenzy about crap that turned out to be nothing, I’m kind of inured to it. Remember the supposed satanic cults back in the ’80s? The razor blades in candy?

I think the “flash mob” angle makes it interesting as a social development. If these are people who don’t necessarily know each other but spontaneously decide to get together and beat other people up, I’d say that’s a different phenomenon from a brawl at a block party, and worth reporting.

They had a spate of “happy slapping” incidents a few years ago in the UK, where (mostly white) teenagers would gang up and randomly attack adults, often chronicling the attack with their cell phones. Again, worth reporting as a new development in the wonderful human condition.

Good news…

Supreme Court nixes violent video game law

In a ringing endorsement of free speech and new technology, the U.S. Supreme Court this morning struck down a California law that restricts the sale or rental of violent video games to minors.

“Even where the protection of children is the object, the constitutional limits on governmental action apply,” Justice Antonin Scalia wrote in the majority opinion (PDF). The ruling was 7-2.

The Supreme Court’s ruling unambiguously reaffirms that video games, which have become increasingly complex and in some cases more expensive to produce than movies, also qualify for full First Amendment protection.
