Awesome Web-Hosting Deal Alert

LGF’s web host runs special offer
Technology • Views: 35,028

They’ve been doing an exceptional job for LGF for years, and now Hosting Matters is running a special summer promotion with a great deal on an unmetered package for only $8.00 a month. (“Unmetered” means no charges for bandwidth usage, which means no headaches.)

And if you already have a website, they’ll help transfer your site to their servers. They’re good people, they know their business inside and out, and you won’t go wrong if you host your website with them. I highly recommend their services.

You need to e-mail P.Z. Myers about this, he has been struggling for about a month now to move his Pharyngula blog from scienceblogs to another server and hit one problem after another. Currently his new site DNS points to an new/old shared server that could not accommodate the traffic and that he cannot access to update. They promised him a seamless transfer to a new dedicated server with adequate bandwidth…still waiting…

Sounds like a good deal.

Scienceblogs appears to be up and running on their new server, but they were having problems for a while. Had this offer been out there a month ago they might have taken a look. The server seems capable but scienceblogs is pretty big.

It isn’t scienceblogs that’s the problem, it’s PZ and Ed’s new blog, freethoughtblog.cam

That is the beauty of capitalism. Both parties walk away from the deal with what they want or there is no deal.

QFT

It isn’t about scienceblogs, it is about PZ’s and Ed Brayton’s new server that would allow PZ to leave scienceblogs as a host.

This is a great blog, Charles. I have greatly enjoyed my time here. The changes, the bells and whistles… you’ve done it very well.

What happens in a dude’s mind that makes him think that people would even give a crap what he thinks? For you it worked.

I’d love to see the statistics on that one. For every LGF; KOS; HuffPo, (insert a successful to moderately successful blog here)… how many others just sat there… being stupid and/or ignored?

Look what I found on Wikipedia about the London Riots:

A hacker group called “Team Poison” tried to hack Blackberry after the firm running the site, Research In Motion (RIM) offered to help police.

I looked into Team Poison. Wikipedia says:

It appears that TeaMp0isoN is affaliated with various Anti-US and Anti-Israel hacking teams, such as the Mujahideen Hacking Unit and ZCompany Hacking Crew (ZHC).

and:

In May 2010, In response to Indian Cyber Army defacing Pakistani websites, 1000+ Indian websites were defaced by TeaMp0isoN, along with other teams such as PakHaxors, UrduHack & ZCompany Hacking Crew….

Pakistan cannot control itself, and is now helping the rioters to a point. And the bastards involved don’t care that 3 Pakistanis were killed yesterday. I guess they see those people as acceptable losses.

Just got back from the Apocalypse Store.

(Two Safeways in our area are being shut down. They’re then opening a giant new one about halfway. This is a PITA for a number of reasons, not least of which being that both stores have been slowly stripped of stock, meaning you never know what you’re going to get. Tomorrow is opening day, so our local store has a really weird selection of stuff.)

Retrievers love water. It’s in the genes.

These guys…they love running. That’s about it.

Also, their owner is a big, BIG man, and he thinks it’s funny when a whippet throws itself at him and trampolines off his belly.

They have the idea that this is a good way to interact with humans.

I am not a small woman, but I am about half this man’s size. I have to strongly discourage them from jumping on me full-force. Luckily, they are malleable little guys.

I’ve probably told everyone this before, but I once saw a series of photos of a Creationist museum someone had posted to their blog—maybe a lizard.

Anyway, they had a sort of series of wax-museum tableaus of important figures—Gutenberg was one—and after a few of these, I realized that the figure of a woman in a blue dress and white apron and cap that I’d assumed was part of these tableaus was not a waxwork. She was a Mennonite (I think) mom, taking her kids around the museum. But she looked right next to Gutenberg, and I assumed…

I didn’t figure it out until one of the shots took in her with the kids.

Do they get pissy when you use a lot of RAM and hammer the CPU? I got tired of shared hosting setups when it reached the point where they would automatically try and force me into their top tier plan because of the system resources I was using.

I’ve run my own VPS at Linnode for the past 5 years or so but as my database has expanded I’ve had to keep throwing more RAM at it until I’m up to $60 a month now.

I’m about to convert everything from MyISAM to InnoDB which should improve performance but not help on the RAM front.

I agree with that too. And as I’ve felt for a long time, if we’re going to make drugs taboo, we need to help these people not treat them like murderers or rapists.

They don’t care. This was the most recent comment:

Ron Paul cares more for your personally liberties, both economic and social, than any other candidate. This man is one of the only candidates, Democrat or Republican who will not receive campaign funds from lobbyists, because he is looking out for the best interest of the American people as a whole. All he has is us, the people, to support his pure and honest movement towards true liberty for all.

199 Sol Berdinowitz  Thu, Aug 11, 2011 1:56:48am

Gin, vodka, tequila, rum, schnapps, ouzo, slivovitz, most anything is fine with me.

But no whiskey. Even the finest single malts are wasted on me, and as far as the brand-names, I would just as soon be hit over the head with the bottle than drink from it.

There has been too much violence, too much pain. None here are without sin. But I have an honorable compromise. Just walk away. Give me the whiskey, the ice, the highball glasses, and the whole compliment of mixers, and I’ll spare your lives.

Just walk away. I will give you safe passage in the Wasteland.

Just walk away, and there will be an end to the horror.

Canadian Club is actually a whiskey blend. And if you buy the kind seen in my avatar, put it in the freezer. then pour over ice. Pours like syrup, taste amazing.

re: #201 Cannadian Club Akbar

We spent a day out in Scotland tromping through the wet moors in rubber boots, and later turned into an inn with a peat fire. In such settings, I was even able to enjoy a dram of fine single-malt whiskey, but in general am not about to go to such lengths just to be able to enjoy it again.

206 Kronocide  Thu, Aug 11, 2011 2:22:19am

You either get single malt or you don’t. I had a bottle of Talisker that took me a year to finish, too smoky. A few years later, a friend introduced me to Oban, no smoke, butterscotchy goodness. Then I’ve slowly gravitated back to the smoke, now I love the sublime nuance of creosote and half burnt wood.

But it’s still not tequila.

Surprising absolutely no one, BP once again fucks over the little guy.

[Link: www.courthousenews.com…]

Nearly 100 Gulf Coast boat owners who let BP hire their ships for its “Vessels of Opportunity” oil spill cleanup say BP’s program was a corrupt conspiracy that left “thousands of participants … holding the bag for millions of dollars of unpaid services, equipment, materials, repairs and decontaminations” - and that BP intended it that way.

The 94 individual plaintiffs say BP touted its Vessels of Opportunity (VoO) program for public relations purposes, but the program “was marred by mismanagement, corruption and broken promises,” and that BP and its co-conspirators “intended to underpay VoO participants.”

Unrelated to fire, but I once mixed up some bleach and ammonia to clean my sink. There’s a whole mix of nasty vapors that’s produced by that reaction.

Luckily, I managed not to inhale any or get it on my skin.

I see we are on the regularly scheduled thread. Last night (early morning) there were more people on the “deleted” Pages post. It was fun while it lasted.

How is everyone?

What did I miss? What’s the deleted pages post?

I am in no way a George Soros fan but:
1. I don’t think this woman is being truthful
2. Georgie, I like you style when dealing with relationships.

But before she got the chance to take possession of the generous gift Mr Soros abruptly called off the relationship.

Miss Ferreyr reacted badly to this news and an ensuing argument allegedly turned violent.

‘Extreme Couponing’ May Lead To A Life Of Crime

Add “inspiring a national crime wave” to your list of offenses committed by TLC. Thanks to the show Extreme Couponing, there’s been an increase in newspaper-related crimes of late. Poynter reports that a woman in California was caught trying to return a stack of newspapers for being incomplete after pulling out the inserts in her car, and there have been similar incidents in Arkansas, Texas, Alabama, and Florida. Apparently TLC needs to run a disclaimer warning viewers that saving 50¢ on a 12-pack of Charmin isn’t worth risking jail time.

In U.S. Stress Tests, a Tool to Gauge Contagion in Europe
[Link: www.cnbc.com…]
(Original article from NYT, By: Jesse Eisinger

“In early 2010, top officials at the Federal Reserve began to wonder: how would United States banks hold up through the European debt crisis? Investors were fleeing Greece and Ireland, and starting to get nervous about Portugal and Spain, spreading contagion.

The conclusion from the stress tests that resulted was heartening to supervisors at the regulator, according to a person who was directly involved in the exercise: American banks didn’t have too much exposure to Portugal and Spain, so the contagion would not be a problem.

Unless it hit Italy.

“At the time, the results made us a bit relieved; our focus was on Ireland and Greece,” said this person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the Fed has a policy of not discussing supervisory actions. “But if Italy goes, God help us all.”

American banks not only had a small exposure to Italian government bonds, but also a larger one to Italian banks and companies. If the European debt crisis spread to Italy, it could cause another global financial catastrophe. Only this time, global regulators might have fewer weapons to combat it. The Fed declined to comment on its analysis.

And that is why last week was so terrifying, scarier than either the stock market drop or the Standard & Poor’s downgrade of the United States credit rating: debtholders had abandoned Spain and Italy.

At one point on Friday, Italian bonds were trading at more than 400 basis points higher than Germany’s, a signal of panic. Italy has a huge debt load. If investors began to focus on that, it wasn’t clear what might stop the run.”

Europe Considers Ban on Short Selling
[Link: www.cnbc.com…]

The two people knowledgeable about the discussions said the authority might propose a ban on betting against all stocks or just financial stocks. It also may propose a ban on a certain type of short selling in which the party making the negative bet does not borrow the share it is shorting first. The bans would likely be temporary, just to calm the markets.

Such a policy would add to the list of parallels commentators are making between the current market panic and the financial crisis of 2008.”

Tea Party Rep: Bank Should Have Known I Wouldn’t Be Able To Repay $2.2 Million Loan

Tea Party aligned Georgia Rep. Tom Graves (R), who castigates Washington for fiscal irresponsibility, reached an out of court settlement Wednesday after he was sued for defaulting on a $2.2 million loan — which his attorney argued is the bank’s fault for lending him the money in the first place.

The FCC actually might have gotten one right here.

911 will soon accept texts, photos, video

(Mashable) — FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski announced a five-step plan on Wednesday to update the technology that powers the 911 emergency response system.

The plan will enable the transmission of text messages, voice calls, videos and photos, as well as automatic location information. The FCC hopes that such a plan will enable emergency responders to respond faster while also giving individuals more options for contacting 911, depending on the emergency situation.

I had a very nice 5 days away from the daily world (yes, even LGF) to spend with my son and his GF who flew in from the Bay area.
They are such a good couple to each other.

We spent Saturday on a tour boat on Lake Washington watching the Blue Angels perform - awesome indeed. My wife has a money-shot video of a direct pass of the formation above our boat at the end of the performance.
Sunday and Monday we spent in Victoria, BC. Rode the Clipper and stayed the night. What a blast. Found a cool Scottish pub to end Sunday night in - I thought of Ice and Jimmah ;), you guys would have loved it.

Now I’m back to the sandbox.

Gadhafi, Ahmadinejad, and Mugabe are out to troll the UK:

Moammar Gadhafi’s regime in Libya – perhaps only half-jokingly — called for British Prime Minister David Cameron to step down, asserting that he has “lost all legitimacy” — a charge often leveled at Gadhafi — because of the riots.

“Cameron and his government must leave after the popular uprising against them and the violent repression of peaceful demonstrations by police,” the state news agency Jana quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Kaaim as saying.

“Cameron and his government have lost all legitimacy. These demonstrations show that the British people reject this government which is trying to impose itself through force.”

Kaaim even asked that the “United Nations Security Council and the international community to not stay with its arms crossed in the face of the flagrant violation of the rights of the British people.”

The president of Iran — Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has been repeatedly savaged by the U.S. and UK during his tenure — turned the tables on his tormentors when he told reporters he condemned the “brutality” exhibited by British police against “opposition” protesters, according to the IRNA news agency.

Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe — one of the most despised leaders on Earth, especially in the West – suggested that Britain should face its own internal problems with respect to social equality rather than impose sanctions on countries like his for human rights violations.

“Britain I understand is on fire, London especially and we hope they can extinguish their fire, pay attention to their internal problem and to that fire which is now blazing all over and leave us alone,” Mugabe said.

“We do not have any fire here and we do not want them to create unnecessary problems in our country.”

Out of the entire pack, as it sits right now, Perry’s roughly second in terms of being able to realistically defeat Obama. I say that because, out of the current pack as it stands, he and Romney are the only two who don’t immediately come off as bug-fuck insane. Difference is, while Romney sounds like he’s got a level head on his shoulders, he’s also A) a sell-out and B) suffering from terminal charisma deficiency.

Reality is often harsh. People could say “we had 8 years of Bush didn’t we?” We’ve seen people swing from being McCain voters to Obama supporters and possible voters. We’ve also seen people go from Obama voters to now expressing interest in another candidate if and when presented with that choice. Independents are not partisan and typically vote for either party come election day — especially for a presidential race. While we may laugh about Perry’s “The Response” appearance most people in America will blow it off. In fact, many will admire him for it.

People do nutty stuff. Kind of like the debt ceiling debate. I think a couple months ago a majority of voters opposed raising the debt ceiling just because they didn’t really know what that would involve. As MSM coverage started discussing it opinions changed. It will be the same with GOP candidates. Most people don’t know anything about them so they’re reacting to cosmetics and superficial factors. As we get closer to elections voters are going to learn more about candidates and probably won’t like what they see.

That’s because early in the whole fiasco, nobody really took seriously the idea that the GOP leadership would be unable to whip the Tea Party Caucus into line. Most of the “experts” ran under the assumption that it was all political brinkmanship, the GOP playing another round of pushing for the best deal they could get while still giving something up. The media talked about default, but they treated it as some theoretical concept, as something that would never happen.

Only in the final weeks and days, when it became very obvious that Boehner held absolutely no control in the House and the Tea Party was willing to drive the country into default, that the media tok the threat seriously.

Independents when given the choice between Perry and Obama - will vote Obama. A clear majority.
Take it to the bank.

That’s running under the assumption that it’ll come down a question of character. But that’s never a guarantee, especially in presidential elections. 2012 could very well be a question of who the voters think will better help get them back to work and making money. And a governor who can claim that his policies have made his state very attractive to job growth, even if the bulk of those jobs are minimum-wage service sector ones, is going to at least get a fair shot at the brass ring.

I think we also have to consider that a run between Perry and Romney may not be so much about who wins and who walks away, but who gets which spot on the final ticket. Both would balance the other, one bringing the Tea Partiers, while the other appealing to the independent voters.

That happens, then this election becomes a referendum about Obama. And, right now, he’s not looking overly good. He’s not out of the game just yet, but he’s certainly being handed his hat.

Right now it’s looking like 50/50. Which is in fact what Intrade has Obama at — if that means anything to people. I think that’s pretty damn close though. 50/50 isn’t that bad but it certainly doesn’t reflect that Obama’s a shoe in for next year. He’s not by any means. This administration has a lot of work cut out for them.

Americans put aside questions of character when they’re voting with their pocket book. And we also have to keep in mind that character is a relative quality with people. It’s relative. Obviously Perry has enough character for Texans and other people across the country. But again, if it’s about money then they won’t think about character. They’ll likely seek to “vote the bum(s) out.” Regardless. Even if it means voting for another Republican again because that’s the only choice people have in this country. We elected Nixon twice.

I think his extreme views and questionable (at best) relationship with TX political cronyism will be a big factor in a general election.
All of this will surface and I think it would turn off independents.

The basic problem on cronyism for Obama is that he’s from Chicago (I’m not saying Obama is corrupt (He’s not) but one does not rise as he did in Chicago without cronyism). Yes, that issue was gone over in 2008, but there was enough dirt to still use. Moreover, his chief of staff position would provide additional fodder.

I’m not saying Obama and Perry are in the same league on this, but Chicago has a much worse reputation on such matters than Texas and so charging cronyism at Perry would likely boomerang on Obama.

Yeah, although except for Fischer and Barton’s constant public displays of anxiety I’m not seeing that as much. I didn’t see a lot of antigay crud with the tea parties, except for their same general social conservatism policies. Muslims, Latinos, and certainly Obama’s background - no end to the wellspring. Ayep, when it comes to a choice between personal self-interest and character, self-interest wins. People will be willing to overlook Bible-thumping (they did so with Bush for 8 years) if they believe that Perry has a better chance of reviving the economy and stimulating job growth than Obama does.

Cronyism is part and parcel with all politicians. It doesn’t imply corruption. Unless they have a smoking gun against Perry, Romney, or whomever it won’t work. The Republicans tried this against Obama with Tony Rezko, et al, and it did not work. Unless they have something serious they won’t get anywhere with this. But I’m sure it will come up though as we get into the now typical negative campaign season. Not directly from Obama but from the non-profits like Move-On, etc. It’ll happen I guess is what I’m saying.

I, for one, would not be appeased by Huntsman being put in the VP slot to be hidden in an undisclosed location by Perry (assuming he is the GOP nominee.) I would assume that in a Perry Administration the VP would go back to their normal role of being used for PR visits and otherwise being sidelined when it comes to setting and carrying out policy.

I also don’t think the gender card is going to help them unless they pull up someone like Christie Todd Whitman off the bench. I would think the ones in the running now will just be Palin 2.0s if their gender is highlighted too much.

Romney/Haley would make a lot more sense for them than Perry/Bachmann, though. Try the latter combo, and there go the moderates and the Bushista crowd that already resents Palin and her followers. They would probably hold their noses and go through with it, but the moderates and pro-choice Rs would be p-i-s-s-e-d (again.) I think they could live with a Romney/Haley tix.

Worse. Much, much worse.

Think about this. George W Bush, who surrounded himself with Bob Jones University and Liberty University grads, had a serious disliking for Perry, and especially his Dominionist leanings - to the point that he didn’t associate with him at ALL during his days as Governor, or in the White House. As much as I disliked Bush, at least he kept the AFA and FRC at arms-length. Perry, on the other hand, has them write his state’s school curricula.

Thaara, ugh. I’m sorry I missed that thread. The other night, we were talking about Veterans Today and what a cesspool it is. They even claim to be a “partner” of Rense.com. Pure antisemitic crankage.

They only came to my attention because one of the anti-Israel crazies on Facebook linked to them.

This same woman also linked to an anti-Israel piece by David Icke, and when I pointed that David Icke thinks the Queen of England is a reptile, shrugged that part off.

One bad sign in political arguments is when people will promote anything in print that seems to shore up their fundamental point (ISRAEL BAD. ISRAEL GOOD. TAXES BAD. TAXES GOOD.) without having read it, or considered what it is actually saying.

Seems like Huntsman has a lot of promise for them, for just that reason. One thing we haven’t seen yet is a moderate R throw their name in. By that I mean an Arnold-type. I would think that if they TRULY believed Obama is a socialist, Republicans would be kicking that idea around, especially to at least split the younger 30-under set’s vote. But… it’s still early.

Very early. Huckabee was the horse to bet on early in 2008 and look what happened to him in the end. There’s also the possibility of Giulliani throwing his hat into the ring. Although that’s a long shot because I’m sure Giulliani is far too “ethnic” for a lot of GOP voters.

Hmmm. That sounds like… Reagan.

Ingrid is proudly married to one of the world’s most politically incorrect human rights activist, Ernst Zundel, kidnapped by America’s Zionist-beholden government goons on American soil in 2003 for having spoken Truth to Power about the so-called “Holocaust”. She has earned a doctorate in Education from the University of the Pacific and been a U.S. citizen since 1973.

My God, the poor woman.

That’s not the article’s title, that’s how I see it.

Levi’s sister is cute. Good for her! Nothin’ like a white trash fight to expose American family values.

Atzmon writes for them. Great.

We had a little protest here in Oakland when Atzmon came to town to fundraise for the local Flotillaniks.

They were most huffy and offended that we would ever consider Gilad an anti-Semite. Why, he is flowing with love for all humanity!!

Atzmon later described us as having been sent by the Israeli consulate (not true) and ‘not sure why we were there’ (we explained to him, on tape being recorded by his followers, for some time, why we were there).

A Northern candidate needs a Southern VP pick.
A Southern candidate needs a Northern VP pick.
Regardless if it’s Romney or Perry, they both have women to pick from for VP if they want.
Romney/Haley or Perry/Bachmann.

Bachmann is too obviously crazy, especially side by side with Perry. I don’t know much about Haley, but will the GOP risk another not-ready-for-prime-timer on the big stage? (Palin, it now appears, was not just unready for prime time, but incapable of becoming ready.)

Marco Rubio is a savvy ambitious man who I suspect has been running for President for years.

Moments like these make me wish that there was another group just as big-say the Scientologists-who could build a competing park..say Xenoland or Hubbardville. Or Lord Krishna Water Park with Elephant Rides. I like to think competition would help kill off this stuff fast and perhaps permanently.

I would actually like to go to the Lord Krishna Water Park.

But the Scientologists have more money.

Over at Arutz Sheva, Phyllis Chesler has done what I thought would be immediate: edited the white kids who appear to make up the majority of the rioters out of the scene, and grafted Britain to her own overarching political theory:

The civilizational war that Jean Raspail once envisioned in his brilliant, dystopian novel The Camp of the Saints is now fully underway. What Raspail once only imagined has come to pass. People of color from many formerly colonized countries have created “no go” zones all across Europe; ambulances and the police enter there at their own risk.

The “youth,” the opportunistic criminal elements, the proto-jihadists (all of whom survive on the European dole), are torching cars, looting stores, battling the police.

Even as I write, black Brits are killing Muslim Brits and rioting against the police. Muslim Brits are threatening to kill whatever and whoever.

Have Europeans traditionally been racists? Yes, of course they have. Remember the Holocaust against the Jews. They learned no lessons.

More recently, did European governments allow immigrants to stay because they were willing to do work Europeans refused to do? Yes they did.

Are Europe’s “multicultural” policies—which allowed immigrants, up to the third generation, not to integrate, not to westernize—also really racist policies? Yes, of course they are.

All you anti-racists: Now hear this. Multicultural relativism and multicultural policies have failed not because they are too indulgent but rather because they are essentially racist policies which have one standard for ethnic Europeans and another standard for immigrants of color.

Are there immigrant, class, faith, and color issues that need to be resolved in Europe? Absolutely—but due to the nature of jihad-via-satellite and jihad-via-internet the violent rioters in England resemble the violent rioters in Gaza or on the West Bank, or the violent rioters all across the Arab world.

The ski masks and keffiyas most resemble Arabs participants engaged in an “intifada,” or uprising. It does not matter if the European participant is an African-Caribbean-Brit or a south east Asian Brit. The model of nihilistic insurrection is Arab and “Palestinian” in style.

“People who oppose racism hate white people.” What’s this right-wing straw-man called? I’ve seen it a lot lately.

They only came to my attention because one of the anti-Israel crazies on Facebook linked to them.

This same woman also linked to an anti-Israel piece by David Icke, and when I pointed that David Icke thinks the Queen of England is a reptile, shrugged that part off.

I’ve been watching them expand for the past couple years or so. They are seriously nasty.

Pacifica (no surprise) got caught trying to sneak in Icke b.s. on WBAI. KPFA has deteriorated into a sewer over the past 10 years. A friend of mine was in that infamous lockout in 99 or was it 98.

Buncha cranks.

Oh and that site Thaara pulled from, Salem-News is just as packed with bigots and crankodoodles as VT…a lot of the same personnel.

Front sites for anti-Israel/anti-Zionism crud.

Maybe I miss it, but I do not think that once in the entire article she acknowledges that many/most of the rioters are white, let alone that Asians are standing against them in the streets to protect their property and civilization.

Chesler jumped the shark for me when she declared that only a black woman could beat Obama for the presidency. But I am still saddened and appalled to see what she’s turning into.

I have an analogy for what I’m feeling, but it’s both pretentious and Godwinesque, so I’m going to skip it.

Over the past 40 or so years it’s been “reverse racism”. In recent years, it’s been WPWW. Today, it’s “BLACKS ARE THUH RACIST NOW” “SHURIUH LAW IS TAKING OVER”….in states that have like 17 Muslims. 9_9

Breivik exposed their number, though. P 669 of that manifesto: “The most pragmatical way to move forward is to play the victim card in combination with cruel methods of armed resistance.”

All of it’s just stupid butthurt because their dogs, waterhoses, and hemp rope don’t work anymore.

Yeah, she’s off the rails. I did agree with her position on that Gay BDS Week or whatever they called it, or at least held similar ideas. But we would not have much use for each other these days, I think.

496 SanFranciscoZionist  Thu, Aug 11, 2011 10:09:07am

It all comes down to a one-theory theory of the times. There aren’t multiple players, conflicting agendas, assorted threats, hopeful possibilities, many nuances.

There is only The Islamic Threat Against The White Western World, Supported By The Naive Multi-Culturalists.

The only thing Chesler and I have in common any more is a love for Israel and a hate of violence against women, but that’s not enough to get me to overlook the paranoid framework she’s operating in.

re: #105 Conservative Moonbat

Do they get pissy when you use a lot of RAM and hammer the CPU? I got tired of shared hosting setups when it reached the point where they would automatically try and force me into their top tier plan because of the system resources I was using.

I’ve run my own VPS at Linnode for the past 5 years or so but as my database has expanded I’ve had to keep throwing more RAM at it until I’m up to $60 a month now.

I’m about to convert everything from MyISAM to InnoDB which should improve performance but not help on the RAM front.

Well, I can’t speak for them in all cases, obviously. But when I’ve needed improvements at LGF they’ve always been great about it. A while back, we did a major upgrade of the LGF web server to a whole new dedicated box, and they gave us personal service through the whole process.
