Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer Publish Enemies List at Andrew Breitbart’s Website

Geller and Spencer list their ‘threats to freedom’
Wingnuts • Views: 33,040

When anti-Muslim demagogues Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller want to make sure their explicit enemies list gets seen by as many borderline crazy right wingers as possible, they turn to Andrew Breitbart’s “Big Government” website: The AFDI Threats to Freedom Index - Big Government.

It’s a list of almost every well-known Muslim organization in the United States, plus the Southern Poverty Law Center and George Soros, complete with scary Muslim terrorist shadow picture:

Following the atrocities committed in Norway by one of their devout followers, Spencer and Geller have clearly not spent even one second re-examining what they’re doing. Instead, they’re redoubling the bigotry and demonization of Muslims. And they surely realize that there are more than a few people among their audience who frequently express the desire to deport and/or kill Muslims en masse; just take a look through the comments at Pamela Geller’s site any time and you’ll see them fantasizing about murder, quite openly.

Drawing up lists of enemies is a classic fascist tactic, of course; maybe Spencer and Geller are emulating their European fascist allies.

If you are publishing Enemies List, the monologue ending in "rue the day" is not far behind, probably accompanied by an organ solo.

LGF didn't make the cut. Maybe there's a Double Secret Enemies List.

And they would certainly not encourage anyone to commit violence against those on the list *nudge nudge wink wink*

I think she just Googled 'Muslim organizations' and made the list from there.

And adding SPLC at the bottom was a nice touch.

I see they didn't forget to include The Dark Lord Soros™.

I was expecting to see Charles listed there. I figure you are the Saruman analogue to Soros as Sauron.

6 Gus  Tue, Aug 16, 2011 12:44:22pm

Well damn. This is like something from a Latin American dictatorship. Here's a couple they listed:

George Soros: The only individual to make the “Threats to Freedom” list, Soros is, according to Discover the Networks, “one of the most powerful men on earth,” with personal assets of an estimated $13 billion. Soros’ Open Society Institute (OSI) donates millions of dollars to far-Left, pro-Sharia, anti-freedom groups.

Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) defames and attempts to marginalize conservative, pro-freedom organizations as “hate groups.” It uses its listing of “hate groups” to try to stigmatize, and ultimately criminalize, love of country and patriotism. It works to systematically destroy voices that are speaking out against oppression and persecution.

It is, because as soon as something happens, then the excuse-making will begin. "We didn't intend to incite violence!," "We never intended any of those on this list to be hurt!," and the classic "This was the work of a lone wolf/mentally unstable individual, so how can you claim we're to blame?!"

I'm waiting for what could be an inevitable suit from the SPLC against these nutters for correctly noting that Geller and Spencer are engaging in nothing more than hate speech.

SPLC does far more than go after right-wing groups and characterize them as hate groups. It cuts across all socio-political groups and left/right leaning groups get scrutiny.

SPLC correctly identifies them as hate groups, and in return Geller and Spencer put them on what's essentially an enemies list. Well, there's proof that Geller and Spencer don't quite get the irony of the endeavor that they're doing.

I remember a time...not so long ago...when the Federal Bureau of Investigation was providing us with this service! Under Eric Holder's leadership (and by direct extension, Obama's "leadership") the FBI seems more interested in protecting guilty blacks from prosecution than protecting the Constitution of the United States.

Thank you citizen Geller, for providing a service once shouldered by the FBI. Keep the news out in front of us so we all know who the Commie traitors in our midst are!

They also list Muslim Public Affairs Council.

From October 2001:

Muslim Public Affairs Council. Added 10/10/01. The Muslim Public Affairs Council and the Islamic Center of Southern California issued a statement on October 7 "wholeheartedly" supporting President Bush in "the attempt to defeat terrorism." MPAC prays for the "safety of our young men and women in Afghanistan who are fighting for a world free of terrorism," and also pray "for the safety of innocent civilians in the region." MPAC applauds President Bush for extending humanitarian aid to Afghani civilians and for his statement that the war is against terrorism, not Islam, Muslims, or the Afghani people. MPAC urges the Bush administration to pay attention to "the legitimate sentiments" of Muslims around the world, "particularly their quest for peace, justice, dignity and an even-handed US policy n the region." Otherwise, MPAC warns, "extremists will exploit this sentiment in order to isolate America."

From May: MPAC GREETS BIN LADEN'S DEATH WITH SENSE OF RELIEF - Muslim Public Affairs Council

The Muslim Public Affairs Council tonight greeted the news of the death of Osama bin Laden with an immense sense of relief. This is a time when our country must stand together, and turn the page on a decade of terror led by bin Laden and Al-Qaeda. MPAC also commends the service of President Obama and his national security team, who have made bringing bin Laden to justice a top priority.

And:

Actions against terrorism

MPAC started "The National Grassroots Campaign to Fight Terrorism" by providing guidelines to American Muslim community leaders to ensure that Mosques are not used by potential terrorists and to monitor activities inside Mosques. This program is instituted in cooperation with Mosques across this great country to regulate what kind of groups may assemble in a Mosque and inform the United States Department of Homeland Security if any suspicious activity takes place.

Large publications have taken a note of MPAC's activities to prevent terrorism on American soil. The Wall Street Journal praised American Muslims for being "part of the solution".[6] The Philadelphia Inquirer said to "credit Muslims who speak out" against terrorism.

As Muslim Americans, when we take the oath of allegiance to America witnessed by our families and our friends (and now DHS), we must remain true to our word. It is an Islamic obligation to defend what we are taking an oath to, namely the constitution of the United States of America.

That does not equate with supporting the policies of the government. Patriotism is not waving the flag or using it to intimidate others; patriotism is love of country, and when we as Muslim Americans see a danger to our country, such as terrorism or xenophobia, or policies that hurt the image and interests of the United States, it is our American and Islamic responsibility to change toward the betterment of America.

Rick Perry's gran problema Latino

Rick Perry is the leader of Texas Republicans' anti-Latino agenda. The 2011 Republican Legislature's passage of Voter ID, gratuitous bans on alleged sanctuary cities and deep cuts to public education has repulsed Latinos in Texas and across the nation.

Perry has alienated Latinos in a state where they make up 48% of the population. That's bad news for any potential candidate, especially one approaching the 2012 election when the Hispanic vote is expected to jump 26%.

It was more expensive not to build these buses and rent local buses that had to be retro fitted with armor and communications. Plus these buses remain under SS control. I'd prefer the leader of the free world be protected with buses built in country. You know putting money back into the economy.

Pamela Geller, American Thinker: Rick Perry, The Stealth JIhad Candidate

Any (and every) candidate who hopes to win the Republican nomination and, ultimately, the presidency must understand the threat of the stealth jihad. It's not rocket science -- and it is apparent to every living breathing American who self-informs. Perry is a useful idiot in this -- and his failings are too monumental and damaging to be ignored...

Why there's more!

Sounds good. But Perry has been sucked into the propaganda vortex, and is now wielding his enormous power to influence changes in the schoolrooms and in the curricula to reflect a sharia compliant version of Islam. He is a friend of the Aga Khan, the multimillionaire head of the Ismailis, a Shi'ite sect of Islam that today proclaims its nonviolence but in ages past was the sect that gave rise to the Assassins. Perry has concluded at least two cooperation agreements between the state of Texas and the Ismailis, including a comprehensive program to feed children in Texas public schools and taqiyya nonsense about how Islam is a religion of peace. Another agreement stipulates that Texas officials will work with the Ismailis in the "fields of education, health sciences, natural disaster preparedness and recovery, culture and the environment." Perry let on that this was all about whitewashing Islam's bloody historical and modern-day record: "traditional Western education speaks little of the influence of Muslim scientists, scholars, throughout history, and for that matter the cultural treasures that stand today in testament to their wisdom."

Rick Perry! Stealth Jihadist!

"light treason" includes supporting mccain over bush in 2000, also.

Lt. Gov. Rick Perry, casting his Republican primary ballot early Monday, plugged George W. Bush’s presidential candidacy and urged Texans to join him in voting for the Texas governor.

“Wherever your political philosophy might be, if you’re not for George Bush being the next president of the United States, I consider that to be almost treasonous if you’re a Texan,” Perry said.

Perry's prayer rally co-chair: There is no separation between church and state

It’s one thing to be in a church preaching all these messages, seeing people shout and whatever it is. But it’s another thing to command the attention of the nation, and then begin to tell these folks, ‘we vote too.’ We don’t just dance and sing, we vote. And some of what you’re doing has to be accountable to us, the people of God. There really is no separation of church and state. In God’s mind, the word of the Lord should impact everything that happens out there in the state. So time and time again we got folks who want us to say our place is just behind these four walls. But Jesus came not to take sides, but to take over.

I don't comment much though I've been an LGF member since '03, but...

I also used to follow Jihad Watch until a few years ago, I never followed Geller because she has always been entirely crazy and nasty.

I did 'follow' Spencer because initially he was pseudo-academic about studying the worst kind of Islamists but now they have all blended into a brown skinned morasse of wickedness (supported by that crypto-Jihadi Barack H.U.S.S.E.I.N Obama!!!).

I still feel that the 'new Johnson' should be a bit more on the ball with Islamo-nazis but forgive him because he is doing such a good job of being on top of Christo- and Judeo- nazis that are ignored by most freethinking fellows of reasonable left and right stripes.

I feel alone in my mutual hatred of wankers of any religion and equally alone in my support of decent, moderate folk who declare themselves as followers of any religion. It would be nice if ALL religions vanished into the ether but 'till then I'm with the good guys who keep their faith to themselves and leave the rest of us alone... irregardless of their faith!

Perry's Derp of the Day:

This time round it was over farming issues. "If you're a tractor driver, if you drive your tractor across a public road, you're gonna have to have a commercial driver's license. Now how idiotic is that?" perry told a Des Moines crowd. "What were they thinking?"

As it turns out, Perry's claim is based off a false rumor that was circulating among farmers that the Department of Transportation recently put to rest. The Wall Street Journal reports that the confusion was over a federal review of a proposal by Illinois to require commercial licenses for farmers, but the DOT ultimately concluded -- as Perry did -- that "the common sense exemptions that allow farmers, their employers, and their families to accomplish their day-to-day work and transport their products to market" should not be tampered with by states.

There are neither enough faces nor enough palms.

American equivalent of "Madrasah dīniyyah"?:

Summer school teaches Tea Party values to kids

DANVILLE, Ky. — Eighteen children filed into a small church one evening last week to learn about the principles of American liberty — including lessons on the failures of communism, the Constitution's biblical roots and gold's superiority to government currency.

During the five-day Vacation Liberty School, talks, skits and activities mixed conservative values and early American history, including stories about how colonists' prayers once helped turn back a threatening French fleet and the principle of equal opportunity, but not necessarily equal results.

It marked the latest of a growing number of Vacation Liberty Schools, volunteer-run programs for children mostly ages 10-15 that resemble a mix between vacation Bible school, U.S. history and Tea Party-style conservative ideas that supporters say aren't taught in public schools.

They're run by members of conservative commentator Glenn Beck's 9/12 Project, a group that holds to a series of nine principles, including "America is good," God is "the center of my life" and "My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government," which "cannot force me to be charitable."

Rick Perry's gran problema Latino

Latino immigrants aren't that badly treated in Texas. For instance, legal or not, they may attend our Universities and pay in-state tuition. There are jobs here, at least some. So there are some bad things about the state's political and economic climate for Latinos (taken together, citizens, legal immigrants, and illegal immigrants aka undocumented), but others are better than average. The climate climate sucks, especially nowadays, but that's nothing to do with Perry.

Relations between demographic groups are not as strained as in many other places---Texas has always had a considerable Hispanic segment, after all.

So Perry will do badly with Latino voters because he's Republican, but he won't do extraordinarily badly. He's not a sheriff Joe.

There are strong points against him, and others that merely weaken the overall case by overreaching. This is one of the latter.

We would see the National Guard deployed. If they were still a cohesive force.

I think it would end-up more like Civil War than mere local riots.

Conservatives, of course, wouldn't understand what was happening and start shooting on sight.

Nonsense. Total nonsense.

We already took a bigger hit than the loss of a president would be. Having lived through both the JFK assassination, and 9-11, I just remember the two shocks. 9-11 was the bigger.

Conservatives didn't just "start shooting". Some loon, one out of 300 million, went off and murdered a Sikh because of the turban, thinking that turban spells Muslims spells al Qaida or something. And he's been convicted, and he might even be genuinely sorry.

The national guard would not fall apart. Training and discipline are good in that branch of the armed forces, at least by comparison to its historical record.

All too many presidents have been assassinated. Others have been shot but survived. In no case did the nation fall apart as a result. Whenever the next one happens, and may it be centuries away, we won't fall apart then either.

An Obama assassination would not be like the JFK assassination. It would be more like the MLK assassination. Do you remember the riots following that? 9-11-01 was a different kind of hit, because it came from outside and killed indiscriminately. An Obama assassination would be taken more personally, like that of Dr. King.

That's a proposal, not a law.

What "us Latinos" actually do is all over the map, from menial work to professor. It's just about impossible to come into the country as an adult, not speaking English, with a basic education but no specialized marketable skills, and march right into the upper quintile or two economically. So there's a concentration, in the first generation, at the lower end. After that, there's a diffusion out of the lower quintiles. In my corner of Texas, everybody knows better than to think that "the help" is what Latinos do. Because we see, in our daily lives, that this is far from the mark.

Who even has "help"?

If it were the work of some Breivik type, you could be right. But assassins come from all corners of the woodwork. It is beyond belief that Al Qaeda is not working on plans in that vein. It is entirely possible that there's a mental case, another Hinckley with a crush on some actress who of course will never give him a glance.

There's another thing. MLK was a civil rights leader. He spoke for his people, most particularly, and only secondarily for all of us. With Obama it is the other way around. The shock and grief among blacks would be compounded by the racial side of things, but we would all be stunned and desolate. Conservatives included.

This would be immediately and viscerally clear to all. How can you rage and storm at somebody who's feeling the same pain you are?

The same conservatives who say that he's a traitor, that he doesn't love America, that he's destroying the US, that he's a tar baby, that he's lied to the American people, that he's a Marxist, a Socialist, that he should be impeached, they'd be 'stunned and desolate'?

Many would be. Sadly, clearly, many would not. And that is insane.

Well, here goes with a "no true conservative" point. There are indeed people who talk that way, and they'd like to be counted among the ranks of 'conservatives'. But that's radical talk. Whether it's insane is a question of parsing "insanity". I don't give those guys a medical pass; they don't need a doctor. They need a soul searching.

There's too much loose talk of "treason" floating around. It's a natural thing to reach for an expressive word in conversation, even if the word isn't literally accurate. "You're killing me" doesn't mean what the words mean. But treason?

And if the speaker does mean it, he's saying by implication things that ought never be said in a political forum. The British Parliament has rules and members literally are not permitted to talk like that.

Yep. And that's all it is. Knowing that, why on earth did you continue with it?

re: #248 lostlakehiker

There's another thing. MLK was a civil rights leader. He spoke for his people, most particularly, and only secondarily for all of us.

That's not the impression I got.

Men often hate each other because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don't know each other; they don't know each other because they can not communicate; they can not communicate because they are separated.

Who does that speak to? Who does it leave out? And that goes double for this quote:

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.
