Michele Bachmann (R-Mars): God Sent Hurricane Irene to Tell Us to Cut Spending
I’ve never seen such a crop of loud, obnoxious God-botherers as the GOP candidates for President. The religious right hasn’t just made a resurgence — they’ve staged a takeover.
Now Michele “Crazy Eyes” Bachmann is telling her audience that hurricanes and earthquakes are messages from on high, God’s endearing way of commanding Americans to vote for her so she can cut spending on FEMA and the National Weather Service.
“I don’t know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We’ve had an earthquake; we’ve had a hurricane. He said, ‘Are you going to start listening to me here?’ Listen to the American people because the American people are roaring right now. They know government is on a morbid obesity diet and we’ve got to rein in the spending.”
This election will go down in history as the Year of Right Wing Magical Thinking.
And now Bachmann says it was just a joke. Pay no attention to all the other evidence of her extreme religious fanaticism — she was only kidding!
