Breitbart.com Commenters Spew Racial Slurs at Sheila Jackson Lee

Yet another deluge of overt right wing racism
Wingnuts • Views: 33,159

Andrew Breitbart has spent the last few days furiously denying that there are racists infesting his websites, and pathetically claiming that all the racial slurs are being “planted” by anonymous liberals (or by me, personally!) to “falsely smear” him.

So let’s take another look today at breitbart.com, where a video clip of Sheila Jackson Lee has provoked yet another shocking and disgusting deluge of racial slurs: Breitbart.tv » Sheila Jackson Lee Tells ‘Right-Wing Bloggers’ To ‘Shut Up’.

Again, no searching was necessary to find these comments. They’re right there in plain view, by the dozens; and all of these comments have high positive ratings from other breitbart.com readers.

Someone needs to slap that Mountain Gorilla around!

Amazing nostrils!

You can park two aircraft carriers up that snout.

Imagine the nostril between her legs!

She represents a district that will continue to vote for her as long as she promises free stuff, and where she will steal the votes if she doesn’t get them in reality (very unlikely to happen). They vote for her for her color as well.

Ms. Lee seems to invite criticism, but not for her genetic heritage. There is soo much more fodder.

You should read what's on the front page. The excuse that it's "unmoderated" is a flat-out lie.

Shirley Jackson Lee is an entrenched Democrat Congress Critter from Texas. She is outspoken and hard working.

I can't fault her for anything really, but she is definitely a

Obviously George Soros and ACORN hacked Breitbart's site to change constructive criticisms of Jackson Lee into nasty racial slurs. Really, Andy, you're not disproving the racist charges at all but somehow I doubt he really cares about that.

I'm glad SJL, whatever her flaws, has this effect on them. Same for Maxine Waters, Alsharptonandjessejackson, and the rest of the people they're irate because they can't control with their threats and vile epithets.

I think it's hilarious.

Here's a question, perhaps seems off topic---what would you say if I told you that Rick Perry had stated that "...victory had been achieved" by the United States in Vietnam, and had continued with "Today, we have two Vietnams; side-by-side, North and South, exchanging and working. We may not agree with all that North Vietnam is doing, but they are living in peace. I would look for a better human rights record for North Vietnam, but they are living side by side. ..."

Would that have any bearing on your estimate of his general acumen?

Like I said a couple days ago about Breitbart's crowd--their sense of being personally wronged and threatened is enormous, and they have no sense that they have any obligations to courtesy or personal control. In their world it's abused or abusers, and they have a deep core belief that not only do they want to the be the abusers, but that Nature and Nature's God intend for them to be.

It's odd--sort of a war of all against all, but with a fixed belief that morality rests only with one side and it's theirs.

The inferiority complex goes back farther than that: America had an inferiority complex about anything cultural or intellectual because we were so completely overshadowed by Europe in that respect until the second half of the XXth century.

One one hand, I enjoy America's rootsy, folksy, self-educated approach, but the current atmosphere of a total disregard for science and any culture above the level of NASCAR is somewhat disturbing.

And just as I appreciate America's emphasis on individual initiative and responsibility, we seem to totally neglect any sense of respect for others, especialy if those "others" are of another race, religion or political point of view.

And our fixation on Free Market ignores the communal effort that goes into even the most individual success stories.

I have noticed the variation in "quality" of comments on different sites. The truly unmoderated sites are very quickly overwhelmed by spammers, so there has to be at least a minimum of moderation just in order to get rid of all the spam.

I think that sites like Yahoo and AOL use automatic "naughty word" filters but don't filter content.

I've found that these kinds of vile comments travel with the public personalities of SJL, MW and others, whether they are mentioned on individual blogs, newspapers, or places like Freeperville. I think the next couple-few years are going to be interesting as more newspapers start integrating their comments with FB.

I doubt Haaretz (or CIF, etc) will ever require any accountability from their commenters, so yeah, Charles' larger point about Breitbart applies to them. A-holes on your site? It's because you allow it. Same with antisemites or anti-Muslim bigots in one's blog comments.

Sheila "Martian" Lee is certainly not immune to legitimate criticism or even ridicule but almost none of the Breitbart comments focus on that. Only one mentions the Martian flag fiasco, for example. Instead they focus on her race and physical appearance (the latter heavily tinged with racism), as though to use her as an exemplar of, and rationale for, a more general hostility.

I don't like to pimp for the Magical Balance Fairy, but GOP congress-critters say similarly foolish things ever day. Louis Gohmert (R-Oil) quotes David Barton in nearly all of his public addresses, for example. That is Martian flag level stupid built in automatically.

It seems Shlomo Hamelech (King Solomon) had quite an elaborate throne.

On the side, rising over the throne stood an exquisite menorah of pure gold decorated with golden cups, knobs, flowers, blossoms and petals. On each side of the Menorah seven branches turned upwards. On the branches of one side were engraved the names of the seven fathers of the world: Adam, Noah, Shem, Abraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov, with Iyov (Job) in the center. On the other seven branches of the Menorah the names of the most pious men were engraved: Levi, Kehot and Amram, Moshe and Aaron, Eldad and Medad, with Chur in the center.

There have already been some great comments about the throne of Solomon. I will add that there is an oral tradition that in the Purim story, part of the big banquet, which Vashti was supposed to come to, there was to be an unveiling of an attempt to recreate that throne for the Persian kings.

The legends have it that Solomon's throne had animated statues along the sides of the stairs leading up to it, and that the statues would reject anyone who was not supposed to be there.

Oh and anything that points out how demented, corrupt and against the truth, these bastards are is worth it.

SJL once asked if the Mars Pathfinder would be able to spot the flag the astronauts left behind.
Obviously, she didn't persist in this error or make it a component of her next campaign, nor did any media that I know of endorse the veracity of her assumption.

To me, as both a geologist and a spaceflight enthusiast, thinking that astronauts have visited Mars is not in fact as stupid as, say, believing that the Earth is 6000 years old. The former is at least conceivable, though very unlikely, while the latter is a proven impossibility on any rational evidence.

Besides, astronauts will almost certainly visit Mars someday, while the Earth will never be less than billions of years old.

Eh, I'm not going to get into the reasons things people say aren't stupid. I suffered through the struggles to explain why Paul Revere really was ringin' those bells to tell the British what was what. I won't do it for any Democrat born of woman.

North and South Vietnam do not live side by side in mutual harmony, and there is no flag left behind on Mars. Not in this universe, not at this time.

However, hideous racism is still hideous racism--and also, the Breitbart people are not mad that Mrs. Lee doesn't know the map of Asia, they are mad because she had the gall to tell them off.

Sister_Mary September 27th, 2011 - 9:25 am

Probalby a "plant' by Obama so he can be see as being picked on and hated by those "gun toting / bible thumping" racists !!! 10-1 it was a plant !!!

Protip: exclamation points are rarely necessary, and six of them in two sentences are never necessary.

Scott9424 September 27th, 2011 - 9:25 am

I'll be interested in learning who that heckler was and what his story is. He could be a disgruntled Dem or Republican or he could be neither. I don't know that I agree with him, but it's possible. Obama might be the anti-Christ. We don't know. We do know that he is evil.

I get the feeling that Scott is really trying to be reasonable with this comment. He even invokes the MBF by pointing out that many Democrats apparently believe Barack Obama to be a literal demon.

Darbacour September 27th, 2011 - 9:23 am

That's an insult to the Antichrist!!!!

Again, I'd like to point out that the exclamation points are totally unnecessary and actually distract from an otherwise valid point.

This comment was made facetiously. It is therefore likely that the two are not only relatives, but also incarnations of Satan.

As to the first part.. All the major unions are integrated. Many major unions are still predominantly white but this only reflects the population. They are the last people to go to town on racial grounds.

But the second really entertains me:

Republicans are evil, greedy, racist, do-nothings in congress.

The entire philosophy of a libertarian is based on personal greed with no duty to society or anyone else.

The racism of their movement is shown in example after example and indeed at the top of this post.

The only action the GOP has taken in two years has been to prevent any help from getting to people who need it, while funnelling money into their social club at the expense of others.

And greedy, racist thieves who do everything in their power to stop people from getting help are evil by any definition.

The federal government has minted a few billion dollars worth of dollar coins. [No kidding.] They can't get them into circulation because dollar bills preempt that. Hence----

I kind of like coins. But while they're at it, they should give us $2 and $5 coins. And drop the coinage of pennies. Our money has inflated by times more than ten in the past 50 years, and our coinage needs to keep pace. A fifty cent piece was more of a serious bit of money then than a $5 coin would be now.

Just imagine, not having to carry around a whole roll of quarters to pay for something by coin.

Mind you, I think we use our bank cards more than the US population does.

I'm slightly joking. I suppose we could get used to coins at some point--but they would need to be far better designed than they have been.

All our coins should be micro-CDs like Harry Martenson envisioned in the 1950s:

"We listen daily to the sonic coins
provided every one of us and played
through the Finger-singer worn on the left hand.
We trade coins of diverse denominations:
and all of them play all that they contain
and though a dyma 1 scarcely weighs one grain
it plays out like a cricket on each hand
blanching here in this distraction-land."

Meeuwsen: This is Ken, he says ‘Pat, it may sound odd, but Halloween is one of the biggest events at my church. Every year, we host one of the area’s largest haunted houses. They say it’s a great outreach to the unsaved community, but it’s starting to irk me. I feel really unsettled by the fact that our church has a Haunted House. What are your thoughts?’

Robertson: I agree with you, we need the power of God not some kind of ersatz entertainment. We don’t believe in haunted, we don’t believe in ghosts, we don’t believe in all this business.

Meeuwsen: You don’t celebrate it.

Robertson: Halloween is Satan’s night, it’s the night for the devil. It’s All Hallow’s Eve but its time when witches and goblins—

Meeuwsen: Ok that’s evident in the kinds of things that are for sale.

Robertson: Of course, it’s out there. Its skeletons and all this, like the dead rising. Churches shouldn’t do that, you should do something else besides having a haunted house.

You doubt I know the difference between two pints and two liters?

That's not nice.

no, i doubt you know the difference between bottled water sloshing around in you pockets, as opposed to a cool drink carried on your back....shade and a cool drink of water does wonders for you attitude, unless you're hiking through Central Park

I hike in the Appalachians. Mostly up and down and up and down; but this conversation is getting more serious attention than the initial quips deserve.

That part of the nation deserves a higher - character Democrat than Sheila Jackson Lee. She is notoriously abusive toward her staffers and, as a friend who works for DHS reports, can't stand government workers who call her office asking for help.

Still, in the face of such garbage from Breitbart and his crowd, one can only support her. Perhaps we can toss some money at anti-racism organizations in her area who would help primary Rep. Jackson Lee as a way of telling her her fellow public servants deserve better from her?

Andrew's site must be one of those loose and unchecked sites that were referenced in an earlier post that I commented on- about the members policing the site with the moderator.

There is definitely moderation there to one degree or another.

I have seen comments there be removed by mods.
