I for one, am all for as many of these debates as possible. If we are very lucky the Republicans will just eat themselves. In their race to show who is the nuttiest, with luck, the independents and the swing voters will wake up to how totally sick and crazy these troglodytes are and vote Obama. Hell with luck the old school GOP types will notice that Obama is pretty darn centrist and vote for him too rather than put one of these morons into office.
Even Romney is looking more and more insane to the extent that he will not be able to dig himself out come the general election. All anyone sane will see in him is a craven politician dedicated only to his own ambitions.

Huzzah! I've found my entertainment for tonight. I'm reading this Freeper thread on the debates. Over 1200 comments so far. These are some of the most recent comments:
Newt is a master speaker and Bachman takes us to school pretty darn well herself with intellectual heft and command of the facts.
Gingrich
Cain
BachmanRunaway debaters all.
---bachmann is doing great tonight.
---
Cain is sharp. Sounds to me like the rest of the crew is doing their version of a Cain impersonation.
---DEBATE SCORE: THIRD QUARTER
CNN Biased for Romney who is given extra time
and was given Rules which he lauded over the
other candidates like Roberts Rules of Order.
(and was BOOOOOed by the audience which was
mainly Mormon based upon their agreement with
Romney playing his (endless) Mormon card
to ignore his own problems.)WINNERS SO FAR:
Herman Cain - bold strong conservative
Newt Gingrich - erudite strong conservativeand the others:
Michele Bachmann - protects Romney
Ron Paul - occasionally conservative, then on Kolob2
Rick Perry - occasionally conservative, generally weak
Mitt Romney - lied repeatedly (eg. sanctuaries, RomneyCARE)
Rick Santorum - took on RomneyCARE
---
Once again, Newt Gingrich stands out from the rest. And once again there are many on FR who refuse to consider him, whose minds are closed even as they admit he’s doing an excellent job in these debates.
It’s just obvious, folks. I wish he were perfect, and still wed to his first wife, and never made a political call that conservatives widely rejected...but right now he’s the best candidate.
---
CNN just give a big RINO bump of support for Establishment Mitt Romney. It is so obvious. It is disgusting.

He actually *did* negotiate before becoming president (his veep was a previous CIA director, they had their ways) -- but I think Newt wasn't talking about the embassy; he was probably referring to arms for hostages about some people who'd been taken in Lebanon.

re: #220 Stanley Sea
who?
e.g.
In late July 1986, Hezbollah released another hostage, Father Lawrence Martin Jenco, former head of Catholic Relief Services in Lebanon. Following this, William Casey, head of the CIA, requested that the U.S. authorize sending a shipment of small missile parts to Iranian military forces as a way of expressing gratitude.[51] Casey also justified this request by stating that the contact in the Iranian government might otherwise lose face, or be executed, and hostages killed. Reagan authorized the shipment to ensure that those potential events would not occur.[51]
In September and October 1986 three more Americans — Frank Reed, Joseph Ciccipio, Edward Tracy — were abducted in Lebanon by a separate terrorist group. The reasons for their abduction are unknown, although it is speculated that they were kidnapped to replace the freed Americans.[52] One more original hostage, David Jacobsen, was later released. The captors promised to release the remaining two, but the release never happened.

Romney is right about the success of the state HC reform law here in Massachusetts, and its general popularity here. Where he is dead wrong is when he pretends that the federal law is so fundamentally different and is not based on our state law -- and when he suggests, falsely, that the federal law is less based on private insurance.
It will be amusing to see Republicans forced to support Romney because he really is the only remotely electable candidate, and being left unable to convincingly separate the national law from the Massachusetts state law.

Not bad, but I had an ace up my sleeve from my Great Aunt (an old farm wife). She took 2 cans of cream of mushroom & one of cream of celery, mix it with a cup of milk and two cups of rice. Put your chicken pieces in a 9x13 pan and cover with the rice mixture. Cover with tinfoil. Toss it in a slow oven and forget about it till supper time. Fall apart chicken and the tenderest rice you ever tasted. I still make that as a semi-regular sunday dinner.

The possible victim was very lucky in this case. The cops just happened to be turning in when they were just in the process of car-jacking him. At gun point and in this case a kidnap victim because the perps just did and attempted robbery at the cell phone place. And they were also already wanted for murder in another state.
