Trade war with China! Good times!
On a side note, I did read a compelling article a few weeks ago about China’s censorship and how it does cost Americans money in potential ad revenue. As I understand it the issue’s actually being brought to the FTO.

Especially when it comes from the party that loves, loves Wall Street and CEOs. They love the fact that CEOs and investment bankers become fabulously wealthy on the backs of underpaid Chinese factory workers, but then they turn around and bash the Chinese.
It’s revolting, disgusting, immoral, vile …

I was impressed with the moderators; they asked good questions, followed up, and showed just the right amount of subtlety when their slightly raised eyebrows and incredulous tones of voice got across the idea that they think these people are whackos (without having to actually say so).
“So you’d let Italy fail, and not worry about if it might bring down the world economy, you only want to concern yourself with the domestic economy? Really?”
“So you’re okay with 25% of homeowners being underwater on their mortgages, and 4 million of them heading for foreclosure? You wouldn’t do anything about it?”
“So the stock market drops 400 points today, and you think that’s what people should depend on for their retirement? Entirely?”

Cramer was doing it earlier. The questions are unprofessional for a Presidential debate. The kind of opinion-disguised-as-questions you’d expect from the audience at a q&a at Comicon.
It’s CNBC, what did you expect? They are like Fox Business but with less gold bugs.

apparently the problem is that the student loan program is driving up costs by encouraging commoners and peasants to go to college
Yup. Welfare, minimum wage, college grants: All government handouts force the private sector to up their prices to make the profit at the rates they are entitled to, didn’t you know?
