Official CainTruth.com Website Attacks Herman Cain’s Accusers

Cain’s unbelievable new website
Wingnuts • Views: 27,998

Herman Cain has launched a website called “caintruth.com,” along with a series of Google advertisements promoting it (they’ve appeared here at LGF, because Google Adsense serves ads based on keywords in the page’s text).

caintruth.com is apparently dedicated to attacking and smearing the women accusing him of sexual harassment, and the lead article today is: Investigator: Herman Cain innocent of sexual advances.

Whoa — an “investigator” has cleared Cain of the charges? That sounds like big news!

Except that, of course, it’s not. The article linked at caintruth.com is about a crack private investigator named “TJ Ward” who determined that Cain was innocent with the use of a magic software program that can tell when people are lying … through the TV set!

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) - Private investigator TJ Ward said presidential hopeful Herman Cain was not lying at a news conference on Tuesday in Phoenix.

Cain denied making any sexual actions towards Sharon Bialek and vowed to take a polygraph test if necessary to prove his innocence.

Cain has not taken a polygraph but Ward said he does have software that does something better. Ward said the $15,000 software can detect lies in people’s voices.

CBS Atlanta’s Mike Paluska played Cain’s speech for Ward into the software and watched as it analyzed Cain’s every word.

If he is hiding something this thing would have spiked way down here,” said Ward.  “He is being truthful, totally truthful.  He is a man with integrity and he talked directly about not knowing any incident he is accused of.”

Who says right wingers are anti-science? He analyzed Cain with software! Expensive scientific software that detects lies! What more proof do you need?

Not only that — this incredible lie detecting $15,000 program also determined that Sharon Bialek was definitely lying!

During the section of Bialek’s news conference where she says, “He suddenly reached over put his hand on my leg under my skirt and reached for my genitals he also grabbed my head brought it towards his crotch.”

During the analysis of that section the software said “high risk statement.” Ward said that means she is not telling the truth about what happened.

“I don’t think she is fabricating her meetings,” said Ward. But, she is fabricating what transpired.”

This is Cain’s idea of a defense, amazingly enough. Of course, he doesn’t have to try very hard, because the right wing base that put him on top of the polls simply doesn’t care whether he’s a scumbag and serial harasser of women; in fact, some of them (see: Rush Limbaugh) seem to admire him all the more for it.

UPDATE at 11/10/11 11:52:37 am

From a commenter at the CBS Atlanta website linked above: apparently “TJ Ward” is actually Jerry Ward, based in Alpharetta, GA, and he’s a donor to the Herman Cain campaign.

Ward’s website lists an Alpharetta address; a search for “Ward” in Georgia at opensecrets.org shows a Jerry Ward in Alpharetta who donated $250 to the Herman Cain campaign.

I state, with low risk, that the whole thing is a giant crock of crap, and that I'm unsurprised Cain is stooping to it.

I seriously wonder what the point of this is. The man has not bothered to set up proper campaign centers in any major states and seems to have a completely fly by night bid at the election. It is deeply not clear to me that he is a real candidate.

My hypothesis is:

It seems likely to me that the GOP powers that be - that wanted a token black "of their own" as Coulter so clearly put it- can't afford to have their token besmirched by his past misdeeds and thus ruin the illusion of inclusion in the GOP. This even if he was never intended to win. I suppose it is also an easy jab at all of those "uppity women" who get int eh way of business by demanding to be treated with dignity in the work place.

Wait, I thought it'd had been proven "at the time" that the accusations made by the first two women were "baseless." So, why isn't Cain calling on the NRA or whoever did the original investigations to release their reports? Surely if the legwork is already done, we can see it for ourselves.

6 Obdicut  Thu, Nov 10, 2011 11:46:53am

I can tell from the bumps on his head that he's not lying, but unfortunately his mons of mars on his right hand isn't very well-developed so obviously he's not fit to be commander in chief.

Their technology is bullshit:

A 2006 study at the University of Florida for the Counterintelligence Field Activity concluded that LVA did not show any sensitivity to the presence of deception or stress. A 2008 study funded by the National Institute of Justice found that neither LVA nor the competing Computer Voice Stress Analyzer (CVSA) were able to detect lies better than random, but its use does deter people from lying, the bogus pipeline effect.

In 2007 two Swedish professors of linguistics, Francisco Lacerda of Stockholm University and Anders Eriksson of Gothenburg University, published an article called "Charlatanry in forensic speech science" in the International Journal of Speech Language and the Law. Here they examined the workings of a Nemesysco product, and showed that it behaved in pseudo-random fashion when purporting to identify spoken lies. Nemesysco demanded that the article should be withdrawn from the online version of the magazine, and the publisher Equinox did so. Nemesysco's lawyers then sent letters to the Swedish professors where they threatened to sue them for defamation if they published similar articles again.

This resulted in criticism of Nemesysco for trying to silence academic research, and of the publisher for not understanding how to manage a scientific journal The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences branded the company's behavior a "serious assault on research freedom"

I would really be fascinated to know what's going on inside Herman Cain's family right now. Does his wife believe him? Do his children? It seems unlikely that every one of his family members would be in the same state of denial. (Which may be the only state that Cain can carry at this point.)

I don't know. No, seriously, I don't know. I think Cain is actually in it to win it, it's just he's handicapped by not having political experience and so is thinking like the CEO/Talk Radio Host he is. Which means basically he's used to controlling the mic and being surrounded by yes-men.

70% of the Republican party is ABR -- Anybody But Romney. The problem is that none of the alternatives are as good; all have major flaws. Cain, bad as he is, is very close to the best of the bunch.

I'm holding to my prediction that Romney will get 30%. If the ABRs can unify, their candidate will win. Otherwise it goes to the convention.

I am, however, firming one prediction. None of them, not even Romney, will defeat Obama. The one major strength they all had is the economy and how Obama was going to get the blame because he was president. The series of recent polls showing half the public thinks the GOP is intentionally blocking recovery means that blame is gone. With that out of the way, the whole Republican race, especially the the thousand-and-one debates, becomes soundbites for the general race. If it's Romney, it'll mirror Bush v Kerry. If it's any of the ABRs, the coattails will be massive.

Update from the previous thread: Occupy SF protester busted for gun violation arrested again

Jonathan Waknine, 23, of Valley Village, was allegedly miffed that cops confiscated his handgun Tuesday. He returned to camp after being released by police. Around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Waknine confronted a Recreation and Park ranger who had come to do a routine safety walkthrough of the encampment, police Sgt. Daryl Fong said Thursday.

Waknine complained to the ranger that he rightfully owned his handgun and did not deserve to have it confiscated. The ranger told him it was a police matter and that he could nothing about it. At that, Waknine said he planned to fetch a fully loaded assault rifle from home and would challenge those who tried to take it from him, Fong said.

The ranger filed a police report. Waknine was arrested around 3:40 p.m. and booked into county jail on a felony charge of making threats to a public employee, Fong said.

Yeah, but the establishment isn't running the show, else Romney would be running away with this by now. No, Cain's gonna survive at least til the early primaries, perhaps boosted by drop-outs between now and Iowa. Nemesysco is an Israeli company that makes lie detectors and other products based on voice analysis.

A 2006 study at the University of Florida for the Counterintelligence Field Activity concluded that LVA did not show any sensitivity to the presence of deception or stress.[9] A 2008 study funded by the National Institute of Justice found that neither LVA nor the competing Computer Voice Stress Analyzer (CVSA) were able to detect lies better than random, but its use does deter people from lying, the bogus pipeline effect.[11]

I think Gingrich has a real chance to be the next candidate to make a run at Romney. Like McCain in 2007, his campaign imploded early, and all the other candidates major flaws have been exposed much more recently and are fresher in the mind. Republicans are impressed by his intelligence, and his sexual indiscretions are already out in the open and have been forgiven by so con opinion makers like Dobson. The initial reaction of the base to the Cain revelations have been defensive, but given enough time, one would assume even they would recognize that Cain has serious flaws, and what alternative do they have to stop Romney other than Newt?

Perry gets a solid 9.3 Stockdale scale rating.

What’s a Stockdale, you ask? Well, it’s a fictional unit of measurement that rates the campaign-killing effects of a politician’s televised blunder. Its namesake, Admiral James Stockdale, was Ross Perot’s vice-presidential candidate in 1992, when the Texas billionaire mounted a third-party bid against incumbent George Bush and Democratic challenger Bill Clinton. In his one debate with Dan Quayle and Al Gore, the former Vietnam POW began with a lighthearted joke, “Who am I? Why am I here?” That helped lower the bar of expectations, but from there, he stumbled badly, repeatedly losing his train of thought and appearing confused when his hearing aid malfunctioned. His debate performance became the standard, a solid 8.9 in what became known as the Stockdale Scale.

Jan Brewer got a 10.0 on the scale with her galactic sized flub (and yet she still won the AZ gov race).

It's that willingness to change just for a few more votes that makes him unacceptable, I think. The impression is that he'll take the position that pays him the most, most recently. Once he doesn't need the votes what's his position going to be?

A father put his 3 year old daughter to bed, told her a story and listened to her prayers which ended by saying: "God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, God bless Grandma and good-bye Grandpa."

The father asked, 'Why did you say good-bye Grandpa?

The little girl said, "I don't know daddy, it just seemed like the thing to do." The next day grandpa died. The father thought it was a strange coincidence .

A few months later the father put the girl to bed and listened to her prayers which went like this: "God bless Mommy, God Bless Daddy and good-bye Grandma."

The next day the grandmother died.

"Holy crap" thought the father, "this kid is in contact with the other side."

Several weeks later when the girl was going to bed the dad heard her say: "God bless Mommy and good-bye Daddy."

He practically went into shock. He couldn't sleep all night and got up at the crack of dawn to go to his office. He was nervous as a cat all day, had lunch and watched the clock. He figured if he could get by until midnight he would be okay. He felt safe in the office, so instead of going home at the end of the day he stayed there, drinking coffee, looking at his watch and jumping at every sound. Finally, midnight arrived, he breathed a sigh of relief and went home.

When he got home his wife said "I've never seen you work so late. What's the matter?"

He said "I don't want to talk about it, I've just spent the worst day of my life."

She said, "You think you had a bad day, you'll never believe what happened to me. This morning my golf pro dropped dead in the middle of my lesson!"

re: #117 albusteve

Wilt died at age 63 and two months. If he lost his virginity at age 13, that means he had 50 years of sowing his oats. That means that if he really did have relations with 20,000 women, he slept with 400 women a year. I'm certain that he had SOME years with 400 or more hook ups. Some of my friends were also Wilt's friends and I have heard descriptions of some of Wilt's social habits and behavior at parties. But to AVERAGE 400 partners EVERY year for 50 years seems almost impossible. But according to one of my sources (a former NBA star who attended UCLA), when Wilt attended parties, he basically sat in a corner and "auditioned" potential partners as they approached him.

I don't know what to say other than this is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen during primary season. A program and some crackpot "private investigator to the stars" to help "clear" Herman Cain? Seriously? This genius, TJ Ward even re-Tweeted some stupid old Clinton conspiracy Tweet linking to Redstate.

There is no hope for conservatives; no hope for Republicans.

122 Ming  Thu, Nov 10, 2011 2:52:15pm

I think it's interesting that no member of Cain's family, or even a personal (non-business) friend, has spoken up to defend him. In a way, that's a bad comment in itself on Cain's character. Assuming (for the sake of argument) that Cain is completely innocent of every single one of the accusations of sexual harassment, and has always treated others with respect, one would expect that people would be happy to speak up in his favor.

I'm no fan of Clarence Thomas from a political viewpoint, but I've always been very skeptical about Anita Hill's accusations against him, and one reason was the women (9, I believe) who testified in the Senate that although they disagreed with his politics, they had worked with him and they all thought he was a good person. (I'm no expert on the details of the Thomas scandal 20 years ago, so I don't mean to reopen that argument. But those 9 women seemed sincere to me.)

I mean, isn't there anyone out there who LIKES Herman Cain as a person? If so, this would be a good time to say something!

123 Mark Winter  Thu, Nov 10, 2011 3:36:07pm

Perry's lack of ummmm energy might have saved Cain for a little while.
DON'T Let him off the hook, please.

124 wilburs  Thu, Nov 10, 2011 4:10:10pm

All of this really just detracts from the real issue that disqualifies Herman Cain from any political office.

His astonishing ignorance about public policy and current events.

The other day in that "debate" mano a mano with Newt he was asked a health care question.....
"defined benefit plans or premium support?"

He sat there with a vacant stare for what seemed to be 15 seconds, then chuckled and said "I'll Let Newt answer that one."

Not only could he not offer a response, he didn't even understand the question....even though he has supposedly taken a stance on this issue.

He makes Palin seem like a Rhodes Scholar.

Here's a much better study from the Mudflats. lol

Herman Cain's Blinkage: An Unscientific Comparative Study

Many have commented on Herman Cain’s vigorous denial of sexual harassment allegations on Fox News the other day. As I watched the interview, something struck me. As someone who is intrigued by nonverbal communication of all sorts, I found myself mesmerized not by what Cain was saying, but by what he was doing. Blinking.

I had to watch the clip a second time because I couldn’t even concentrate on the words the first time through the rapid-fire visual blink assault. Then I thought to myself, “Wow. I wonder how many times a minute he’s blinking? I bet it’s a lot. It would be interesting to know just for the heck of it. But what idiot would sit there and watch this thing and count how many times Herman Cain blinked and then figure out his blink rate?”

You know where this is going, Mudflatters, don’t you?

Yes, I am that idiot.
