Cain: God Chose Me, Like Moses

Bad combo: egomania and religious fanaticism
Wingnuts • Views: 23,909

One of the reasons Herman Cain often speaks of himself in the third person is because he has been selected by God Himself to run the United States.

When you’re in the same class as Moses, third person is the only way to go.

“I prayed and prayed and prayed. I’m a man of faith, I had to do a lot of praying for this one, more praying than I’d ever done before in my life. And when I finally realized that it was God saying that this is what I needed to do, I was like Moses. ‘You’ve got the wrong man, Lord. Are you sure?’” Cain told a crowd of over 100 people at the Young Republican National Federation, an event hosted by the Georgia Young Republicans at the Westin Peachtree Plaza.

I guess he is one of the many "men of faith" accused by at least 4 different women of sexual harassment.

Any political party that wants to put someone in charge who apparently listens to the voices in his head and translates them in that manner should stand back and think really hard about it.

Because you are either being played to a ridiculous manner, or you're supporting someone that is essentially claiming that he will follow those voices - and at point are there limits and borders he will not cross if the voices tell him to?

8 Mostly sane, most of the time.  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 1:28:24pm

God chose Moses through a miracle and then provided him some more miracles as backup.

Will he now specify the miracle?

That kind of person can be easily pushed around.

Is it any wonder conservative groups try and push off people like Sharron Angle, Christine O'Donnell, Allen West and Herman Cain -- some of the craziest they've got -- as legitimate legislators and politicians?

Not unless someone's giving a talk about a specific commandment. They do go over it when teaching the Old Testament.

Oh dear. Please don't make me launch into a post on AME liturgy, because, sadly, I could and that would please no one, lol!

A bit like Anglicanism, there are some different alternate versions of the Decalogue.

But now I will have to go check, because I don't remember which Biblical reference is used for it.

Dang you, Sergey!

Tea Party Plans Premeditated Felony

Madison -- The kick off campaign to recall embattled governor Scott Walker kicks off in just four days and with that date approaching, the tea party has plans of its own. Politiscoop has received several screen shots of tea party and right wing activists planning to pass themselves off as those circulating petitions to recall the governor.

In one facebook post a user named Charles Atlas Shrugging begins the plan by saying "I'd like to collect signatures of those who want to recall Walker...so I can have something to feed my shredder.."

In another such post Matt Wynns who claims to be a small business owner states "I shall be heating my home with recall signature. as they sign, I'll make sure to tell them not to sign another petition. I figure I can get a hundred to a few hundred signatures off the ballot. F*#&* (Word edited) Liberals.

The list of disgusting posts go on, even after a user reminded each and every one of them that their plans would violate Wisconsin statutes.

We just don't get enough of them.

Besides the loquats, the roses (of which loquats are a close relative, being in the Rosaceae family) love it also. Went for a long walk yesterday and the fall rose blooms are as good as I've seen them, really lovely.

In fact, the defense shield will get double-play, as it's also supposed to be one of the reasons why New START is so bad, because agreeing to it supposedly means we have to give up missile defense.

CBS offers 5 things to look for in tonight's debate:

1. Can Rick Perry clear the low bar of expectations?
2. Will Newt Gingrich contain himself?
3. Can Cain get back on message?
4. Will Romney be able to pick up more support?
5. Will anyone emerge as the obvious alternative to Romney?

I'll vote no on all five.

There's crazy guys everywhere. I was reading about this guy in the paper. Get this, folks. The guy I was reading about, he killed his whole family because the devil told him to. Do you believe that? What a dork, huh?

Imagine, eh? You kill your whole family just because the devil tells you. Then afterwards you go back and you go, "Yes, Devil. I did as you instructed. I killed my family, slaughtered them as they were sleeping, then I chopped them up and put them in a duffel bag. Here they are in a duffel bag. I'll be burying them tonight in the shallow grave by the side of the railroad track as you have commanded, oh, Lord, host of the hoary never-world."

You know, then the devil pulls off the mask, "It's me, Bob!"

You go, "Oh, Bob! Jeeze, You got me, Bob. You got me here. Is my face red or what here? I got my family in a duffle bag over here. Well, that's one for you there, Bobby."

These are people who are desperate to find some sort of importance for themselves, to cover up insecurities, or to just play to basest of human failings: pride.

Drinking game for tonight: "American exceptionalism."

I hate that effing bullshit phrase with a passion, what does it even mean? Even the supposed left-wing media will not question it and repeat it without question or a hint of irony. We have not been exceptional at anything since shortly after WWII as far as I can see, and speaking strictly in the "Morals and Human rights" sense we have consistently lagged behind the majority of Europe since our founding.

What exactly is it that makes America "Exceptional" other than a right-wing effort to dismiss any criticism whatsoever of our behavior now or in the past, as antithetical to the "glorious promise of freedom that this country stands for"...

Perhaps if they actually read a history book or two they would...ehh never mind...they won't read anything above the intellectual level of a Tom Clancy novel...sigh... :(

Dunno, if my family member liberated Auschwitz, I certainly wouldn't confuse it with a "normal" concentration camp (which still was atrocious; just nowhere near the extermination camp in scale of atrocity or infamy). If people only realized the truth about the discovery and colonization of our country! The Light and the Glory, by Peter Marshall and David Emanuel tells the thoroughly documented early history of our country. The TRUE story!

God led Columbus here, whereupon Columbus brought the pilgrims, including my ancestors, to these shores, where the first Indian they met spoke to them in English! Yes, Squanto had been taken to England where he learned to speak English before the pilgrims arrived. Some shock, huh?

Our early sacred documents were devised by God and man, and our laws were based on the premise the American people would be Christian. So for years now the leftists have been trying to kill God and replace those documents with the Devil’s swill!

Herman Cain has listened to and obeyed Him all his life, and Herman Cain has not done too badly, has he?! Praise God!

Not really like that, no. Knowing that Auschwitz is in Poland and Americans didn't liberate Poland is not technical knowledge akin to remembering every state capital.

OK. In that context you are correct. It's basically like saying the USA liberated Berlin from the Nazis.

"Well, I'll tell ya, I wouldn't want to be a replacement officer coming in here. Getting thrown in with a group of guys who've known each other for what? 2 years? Who've been in combat since Normandy. You're supposed to just show up and lead them? How does a guy do that? How could anyone really hope to gain the respect of the toughest, most professional, most dedicated sons of bitches, in the entire ETO. Huh? If you ask me, a guy would have to march off to Berlin and come back with Hitler's mustache or something." - Carwood Lipton (Band of Brothers)

Here is the editorial cartoon that won "Frank Miller" (of Iowa, editorial cartoonist) the Pulitzer.

Ironically, if you look at that image, if it ran today, that Frank Miller would be accused of SHARIA!! or something.

Somehow I doubt it. Kindly excuse me if I don't laud his artistic prowess. //

That's just it, they don't. They stand for one-party rule, but are afraid to say that, because then nobody would take them seriously when they whine about the "trampling of the Constitution."

That's like saying someone can't blame another for not knowing that North Dakota is the sate above South Dakota because they can't name every state capital.

Minor issue. :) Some places might be, shall we say, out of place concerning their names. For example, Center, Texas.

Getting back to the American Exceptionalism thing... it just reeks so much of insecurity (on the part of the mass of nationalistic conservatives who trumpet it) when it has to be preached over and over and over...

And when everybody else around them has to chime in with them, or they start getting nervous and angry.

These are people who are desperate to find some sort of importance for themselves, to cover up insecurities, or to just play to basest of human failings: pride.

They are at the emotional level of spoiled toddlers. At least spoiled toddlers have an excuse, they're toddlers, and spoiled, after all.

Breaking News: USA poll finds that 75% of Americans believe that God spoke to Herman Cain.

//

Well, I believe it. I fully believe the allegations, growing daily, are G-d's message to Herman Cain: "SHUT UP & GO AWAY, ALREADY!" Just you watch: things will get worse before Cain does, too, because he'll need them to be a lot more obvious before he finally listens.

The GOP's sanctimonious cup runneth over.

This is starting to sound like an SNL version of the old game show "To Tell the Truth":
Perry: "I am God's chosen candidate"
Bachmann: "I am God's chosen candidate"
Santorum: "I am God's chosen candidate"
and now Cain ...
"Will the REAL chosen one please stand up"
