Keith Jarrett Trio: Love Letters

Music • Views: 22,717

The best jazz trio in history, from their out-of-print DVD “Standards II - Live in Tokyo,” recorded in 1986. All the solos in this one are simply masterpieces, and don’t miss the ending.

Youtube Video
UPDATE at 11/12/11 3:16:34 pm

Just discovered that this DVD is actually still available at Amazon, but not on its own. You can get it in a two-disc set that includes “Standards 1:” Keith Jarrett: Standards: Jack DeJohnette, Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock.

That recording is from 1961 apparently, but I believe Goodman first started his trio recordings around '35 or '36.

Angry demonstrators sacked the Saudi embassy in Damascus on Saturday after the Arab League suspended Syria over its failure to honour a deal to end a bloody crackdown on anti-regime protesters, Saudi state news agency SPA reported.

They first showered the building with rocks before some entered the premises, breaking windows and sacking it.

Uh oh? Assad's got his goons going out and ransacking embassies of those countries that supported sanctions within the Arab League. Not only is that a violation of international law, but a casus belli should the Saudis see it that way (attacking the sovereign soil of another nation).

And fact is that the Arab League basically said that its member countries should impose sanctions (but didn't mandate it).

Assad's actions can't get any more transparent than that. So typical.

An employee recently noticed that a copper statue atop the tomb was missing a 3-foot-long sword. The statue is of a Civil War artillery officer.

Of all the places you’d expect to find Bill O’Reilly’s new history “Killing Lincoln: The Shocking Assassination That Changed America Forever,” Ford’s Theatre — the site of the dreadful act — should rank right at the top. But you’d do better to search for the bestseller on Amazon because it has been banned from the theater’s store.

The crime? O’Reilly and his co-author Martin Dugard have displayed a serial disregard for historical fact.

98 Gus  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:13:04pm

All of the shit they're complaining about is basically an extension of Bush policy.

99 McSpiff  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:13:07pm

He has no idea.

100 sagehen  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:13:17pm

Perry looks and sounds sober, and he's memorized his talking points. Speaking in full sentences and everything.

101 jaunte  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:13:28pm

Afghanization.

re: #99 McSpiff

He has no idea.

But his bulls***ing skills have improved. I mean, he hasn't said "oops" yet.

103 Gus  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:13:50pm

Oh God. Santorum.

Afghanization.

Vietnam!

105 Decatur Deb  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:14:27pm

Questions have been better so far.

This is an improvement?!

*bubble bubble*

108 freetoken  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:14:33pm

This debate is already more boring than the last one.

They really needed a deeper stage, with a backdrop many more feat behind them, and more top-lighting (to get rid of the shadows), etc. All seems a bit more amateurish than the last one.

re: #105 Decatur Deb

Attempts at substance will be punished.

110 Gus  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:15:14pm

Bush's fault!

111 Our Precious Bodily Fluids  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:15:50pm

Will Newt wait until the end of the debate to blame the moderators for how stupid the candidates are?

112 Gus  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:16:15pm

Fuck you Bachmann.

113 Sionainn  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:16:24pm

C'mon, Michele, that's an old talking point about Obama "dithering."

114 Gus  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:16:25pm

Pardon my French.

115 sagehen  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:16:36pm

I like Michelle's makeup, but the hair and dress are a little Addams Family.

116 Obdicut  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:16:48pm

My wife is making chicken paprikash with nokedli. Life is good.

And yeah, let's not go to war with Iran. I think the military deserves a break. I'm also not getting what the point of invading Iran would be, exactly.

117 Lord Baron Viscount Duke Earl Count Planckton  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:16:48pm

shallow comment time: bachmann's crazy look is decreased with that 'do.

118 jaunte  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:17:02pm

Mrs. Bachmann, would you describe what 'victory' might look like in Afghanistan?

119 Gus  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:17:48pm

Boom!

120 Amory Blaine  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:18:03pm

Is this on regular tv?

121 Lord Baron Viscount Duke Earl Count Planckton  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:18:20pm

huntsman makes some sense

122 teleskiguy  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:18:22pm

All this "listening to our commanders on the ground" bullshit pisses me off. The commanders on the ground take orders from our Commander in Chief.

123 Gus  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:18:32pm

Kudos to Huntsman.

124 jaunte  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:18:35pm

re: #120 Amory Blaine

I'm seeing it on the local CBS channel.

125 freetoken  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:18:38pm

Good grief, a thought out comment by a candidate... Huntsman will definitely not be the nominee.

126 Lord Baron Viscount Duke Earl Count Planckton  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:19:06pm

oh
let's go upstairs

127 Gus  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:19:09pm

re: #125 freetoken

Good grief, a thought out comment by a candidate... Huntsman will definitely not be the nominee.

It requires too much thinking. Not enough knuckledragging.

128 Decatur Deb  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:19:10pm

Huntsman is the school-trip teacher explaining why you don't climb on the baby giraffe.

129 elizajane  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:19:29pm

Oh sigh. The tragedy of the fact that the only man who has actual, informed ideas and speaks them articulately will never be nominated by this party.
(And I do not mean Mittens, or Prof. Fig Newton)

130 Amory Blaine  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:20:01pm

pissing about a couple of months

131 Gus  Sat, Nov 12, 2011 5:20:13pm

Perry looks and sounds sober, and he's memorized his talking points. Speaking in full sentences and everything.

His handlers gave the animatronic Rick Perry a good once-over and brought in a new team of operators that weren't stoned out of their minds...

re: #31 OhCrapIHaveACrushOnSarahPalin

I haven't. Mainly because there are so many Christian missions in Africa, including a whole raft of crazies. Whatcha know?

My grandmother had three brothers who were doing dog's work as missionaries to Africa in the '40s, '50s and '60s.
