Herman Cain Don’t Read
Herman Cain’s a godsend to those of us arguing that the modern Republican Party is, at its core, anti-science and anti-intellectual; we couldn’t ask for a more direct expression of this contention than Cain’s latest slogan: “We Need A Leader, Not A Reader.”
He goes all the way with this one, knocks it right out of Anti-Intellectual Park. He’s not saying it isn’t as important to be a reader, or that being a reader doesn’t make you a leader — Cain’s actually saying a leader shouldn’t be a reader. We don’t need no stinking readers leading us!
Apparently he wasn’t “joking” when he said he would veto any bills longer than three pages. He’s a walking shrine to deliberate ignorance.
