Pamela Geller and the Stealth Jihad Turkey Conspiracy

Idiocy engendered by mindless hatred
Wingnuts • Views: 31,226

Always on the lookout for the encroachment of stealth mega-mosque shariah jihadis, Pamela Geller is once again courageously blowing the whistle on the Islamic corruption of America’s precious food supply. And this time those stealth Islamic supremacists are messing with a sacred American tradition: Butterball.

Pamela Geller, American Thinker: Happy Halal Thanksgiving - Atlas Shrugs

“Butterball is stealth Muslim jihad supremacism!”Did you know that the turkey you’re going to enjoy on Thanksgiving Day this Thursday is probably halal? If it’s a Butterball turkey, then it certainly is – whether you like it or not.

In my book Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance, I report at length on the meat industry’s halal scandal: its established practice of not separating halal meat from non-halal meat, and not labeling halal meat as such. And back in October 2010, I reported more little-noted but explosive new revelations: that much of the meat in Europe and the United States is being processed as halal without the knowledge of the non-Muslim consumers who buy it.

I discovered that only two plants in the U.S. that perform halal slaughter keep the halal meat separated from the non-halal meat, and they only do so because plant managers thought it was right to do so. At other meat-packing plants, animals are slaughtered following halal requirements, but then only a small bit of the meat is actually labeled halal.

Now here is yet more poisonous fruit of that scandal.

A citizen activist and reader of my website AtlasShrugs.com wrote to Butterball, one of the most popular producers of Thanksgiving turkeys in the United States, asking them if their turkeys were halal. Wendy Howze, a Butterball Consumer Response Representative, responded: “Our whole turkeys are certified halal.”

In a little-known strike against freedom, yet again, we are being forced into consuming meat slaughtered by means of a barbaric, torturous and inhuman method: Islamic slaughter.

And of course, you know what comes next after the stealth halal infiltration:

Suicide Turkey by jaunte. (Turkey: Tony Campbell, Bomb: creativeoneuk)

I really just want Pam to explain two things:

1. How is halal slaughter substantively different from kosher slaughter?

2. If a person is not a Muslim, and is a meat eater, why precisely should they care that their turkey is halal? If they are such humanitariansthat they will only eat a turkey that's had its head cut off by machinery without the name of God being invoked, perhaps they can find a speciality company.

Of course, I don't actually expect much on the kosher front. Geert Wilders and company have repeatedly made it clear that they'll happily let kashrut be banned if it allows them to stick it to the Muslims, and Pam's not frum.

It was in response to the first tweet, which responded to the announcement of the cabinet's resignation with a question about if elections can still be held. The country looks to be either headed towards utter anarchy or a military dictatorship and yet there's still the question of if elections can be held.

As far as I can tell, there seem to be layers of fear with these guys. They seem to see praying while slaughtering turkeys as a prelude to praying while slaughtering the neighbors. They seem to see widespread marketing of halal food as some sort of 'takeover'. And I'm pretty sure they're scared of eating stuff that's had the name of Allah invoked over it.

76 Moodsman  Mon, Nov 21, 2011 11:28:40am

The main rule about Halal is that the animal has not been prayed for during its killing to any other god than Allah. It doesn't mean that it HAS to be sacrificed to Allah, it just means that it hasn't been prayed over to anybody else. No prayer at all means it can be Halal (if other rules, mainly type of animal) are followed.
I have no problem with that.

77 Cineaste  Mon, Nov 21, 2011 11:28:54am

Halal and Kosher slaughter are virtually the same. The method of both is to cleanly sever the trachea and major blood vessels. If the cut is not perfectly clean and done with a perfectly sharp instrument with no nicks then it is not acceptable. The goal of this practice is to preserve the quality of the meat as well as to limit the animal's suffering. While breaking the neck would possibly be somewhat quicker, it would potentially damage the animal or not kill it effectively at first go.

I've never understood these morons who supposedly argue for the free market while taking offense when a private corporation makes an effort to please specific customers. Butterball doesn't give a shit about their appearance to Muslims other than from a marketing perspective. If they can sell more turkeys by making a minimal change (if one at all) in their slaughtering process please explain why they wouldn't and what this has to do with anything besides money? This is the same reason ATM machines offer the Spanish language. It's about getting Spanish speaking customers to use your bank, not about the conservative fantasy that they are somehow appeasing our cowardly government.

Beyond those considerations and others along the same line, I couldn't care less if my turkey was blessed, baptized, bar mitzvah'd, beatified, excommunicated, canonized, converted, cursed, prayed over, prayed for, chanted about, proselytized to, preached to, declared OT-III by the Church of Scientology, and/or inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

We're having turkey two ways...one of our friends is hosting as they just did a renovation of their kitchen and dining area and want to entertain..another friend took over the turkey insisting she get to roast for the party. So we're going to let her do that, and deep fry two more (small birds - about 12 lbs - one for the party, and one for leftovers).

To be certified kosher, the butcher must recite specified ritual words at specified intervals.

Also (this is a new one, and only one of the kosher-certifying organizations insists on it -- a reaction to that Iowa thing), a kosher meat-packing plant has to treat their employees in accordance with talmudic ethics.

In a little-known strike against freedom, yet again, we are being forced into consuming meat slaughtered by means of a barbaric, torturous and inhuman method: Islamic slaughter.

Is she freaking insane? (Yes I know the answer to that one). Halal slaughter is virtually identical to kosher slaughter, except that one is done by an imam and the other is done by a rabbi. and then if you eat meat that has been consecrated to the evil Muslim Moon God you become Muslim! Thats right, even without your knowledge or consent, one bite of Halal meat and bang your a Muslim! See how creeping Sharia works? Do you see yet why you should be scared?

If your not sure whether you have eaten any then you need to go get re-baptized or arrange to hold a second Bar/Bat Mitzvah to reclaim your original faith! You should do it right now! Before the Muslim taint takes hold of you and forces you to try to blow innocent civilians up!

And evidently, a breakthrough is near: some scientists speculate that we might see the first lab-grown sausage arrive in just six months. Six months after that, a lab-burger. And that claim is being made by of the field's leading researchers, including Mark Post, of Maastricht University in the Netherlands. The New Scientist reports that "Post has experimented mainly with pig cells and has recently developed a way to grow muscle under lab conditions - by feeding pig stem cells with horse fetal serum. He has produced muscle-like strips, each 2.5 centimetres long and 0.7 centimetres wide."

For meat to be certified Halal there is no requirement that it be prayed over by an Imam. It just can't be prayed over by any other religion. Meat that has NOT been prayed over at all during slaughter can be Halal.

That is why this is such a huge tempest in a teapot. The turkeys are not being prayed over by any priest during slaughter. They are just being slaughtered. That means that they can be Halal or non-Halal... same turkey.

Do the majority of Americans care whether their animals are prayed over while being slaughtered?

In order to be kosher, or halal, the animal must be slaughtered by a single stroke with a knife that has been inspected for sharpness, severing the trachea and esophagus. As long as this action is performed as required, it does not matter if the slaughterer utters a blessing.

The 89 employees of a New York law firm specializing in foreclosures who dressed as homeless people during an office Halloween party last year have been thrown out on the street.

Steven J. Baum P.C., a firm that specialized in foreclosures, is closing its doors a month after photos showing employees celebrating Halloween by dressing like the homeless surfaced in a New York Times column by Joe Nocera.

Karma's a bitch.

I wouldn't normally celebrate people losing their jobs, but in this case I'll make an exception.

The NYT follow-up is revealing:

None of which was why I had contacted Baum’s press spokesman earlier this week. What had caught my eye was an article in The Buffalo News headlined, “Foreclosure law firm is battling rule on accuracy.” The article described a court hearing a few weeks ago during which the Baum firm asked the judge to reject — as unconstitutional! — a year-old rule that foreclosure lawyers must attest to the validity of the mortgage documents held by their bank and servicer clients. You would think that any lawyer worth his salt would be happy to affirm that his client was using valid documents to toss someone out of a house. But not, apparently, Steven J. Baum.

In fact, this case matters a lot more than a creepy Halloween party. In October 2010, reacting to the robo-signing scandal, the judge overseeing the New York State court system had issued an order commanding that lawyers representing banks and servicers sign a document “affirming” that their clients had reviewed the accuracy of the documents and records — and that the documents were, indeed, accurate.

Almost immediately, the number of foreclosures in New York dropped dramatically. Why? Because Baum and most of the other foreclosure mill firms wouldn’t sign the affirmation.

So if they couldn't conduct business in a shady manner, they couldn't conduct business, period.

Karma is, indeed, a bitch.

For any MySQL geeks among us, this was the query that was bogging down the profile display:

SELECT SUM(rating) FROM ratings, comments WHERE comments.userid = $userid AND comments.id = ratings.commentid

This table join looks through all the comments posted by the user and adds up all their ratings. For people with many comments, this could take quite a while.

Now I save the karma in a new table after calculating it this way, and the rating code increments/decrements the karma total for each user whenever they get a ding. This way when I display the karma, I just fetch a static number out of a single table. Much zippier.

Newt Gingrich: Child labor laws 'truly stupid' [Video]

Gingrich, who over the weekend said Occupy Wall Street protesters should "get a job" and "take a bath," suggested Monday that poor children need to build a work ethic.

"Get any job that teaches you to show up on Monday," he said. "Get any job that teaches you to stay all day even if you’re having a fight with your girlfriend. I mean, the whole process of making work worthwhile is central."

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

On Saturday, Joe Nocera, The Times columnist who originally wrote about the firm’s Halloween party, published another column about the controversy. In it, he quoted an e-mail that Mr. Baum had sent him last week.

“Mr. Nocera — You have destroyed everything and everyone related to Steven J. Baum PC,” said the letter. “It took 40 years to build this firm and three weeks to tear down.”

“I think that’s what they call shooting the messenger,” Mr. Nocera said.

Reminds me of a news story I caught a few months ago about the child labor laws in Wisconsin. It used to be that 16 and 17 year olds were limited to six days and 26 hours on a full school week. The new law (passed in the budget) was going to change that so they could work unlimited hours, 7 days a week.

So, yeah, evidently that's another plank of the new Republican party.

Wesley Clark slams GOP on defense.

“While President Obama has kept his promises across the globe, the leading Republicans have been all over the map, offering sound-bite critiques and shifting positions with every change in the headlines as they seek partisan advantage,” Clark said.

[...]

“If you took any six of those candidates, you might find sixteen positions on any issue,” Danzig said. “If you added Governor Romney you’d probably find forty six positions.”

The generals pushed back against recurring criticism that Obama was risking national security by withdrawing from Iraq, noting that the decision was up to the Iraqi government and a legally binding timetable had been negotiated under President Bush in 2008. Regarding Afghanistan, Clark said criticism of revealing a “timetable” missed the mark, since it was impossible to withdraw in practice “without the Taliban hearing about it.” On Iran, mocked Gingrich’s recent demand that the US pursue covert actions to stop Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon “as if he invented the idea.”

Heh.

Newt Gingrich, a walking, talking example of all that is wrong with modern politics. Running him against Obama would pretty much be suicide for the GOP. I think we're at the 'in the ground' point already, though. This isn't the same thing as not raising the debt ceiling, it wouldn't have immediate and disastrous effects. If he vetos attempts to bring back military spending, the GOP will use it against him politically, but that's all that will happen from that. The cuts in medicare suck, but since what the GOP wants is to keep those cuts and restore the defense budget, I don't see any room for compromise on that at all.

And while they will be able to attack him politically with the lack of money for the military, he will be able to say "All you have to do to get that money is come up with a balanced plan, that includes raising taxes on the wealthy. And if you don't, taxes will get raised on the wealthy-- and everyone else."

They're going to keep on doing this.

All the more reason for Obama not to cave on this. Let the automatic cuts go forward as a reflection of GOP obstructionism.

re: #362 Obdicut

If he vetos attempts to bring back military spending, the GOP will use it against him politically, but that's all that will happen from that.

This also presupposes that the GOP can get such a plan through the Senate. I'm not sure they realize that the filibuster still works both ways.

I'm fairly sure there is one-- are you saying it's somehow totally ineffective?

I'm unaware of any enforcement mechanism, at least one impervious to interference. Else the GOP wouldn't have started making noises as early as last week of undoing them.

They might not have been serious at the time, but they are now because of the super committee failure. The GOP brought these cuts on themselves by being obstructionist assholes. They should be forced to live with it.

In the aftermath of the debt ceiling debate Republicans made it clear they were willing to shoot the hostage. They've discovered they can effectively rule the country through hostage taking even though they're a minority in government. They're going to keep on doing this.

You bet they do...They knew the Military is going to suffer greatly from the automatic cuts...Yet they choose to side with the Super rich in the country..
god forbid they pay a few more % in taxes....
GOP just F'd the Military because they don't know how to comprise..

Oh, well, of course it's not impervious; they have to just vote on a bill and get it past the senate and house.

But that's a significant challenge. And if he vetoes it, then they need a supermajority in both houses to overcome the veto.

The only way to seriously cut the military budget would be to get our people out of Afghanistan quickly. Otherwise you're just leaving them over there with dwindling supplies and deteriorating equipment.

And let the Saudis (yeah, right) and the Chinese take over the anti-piracy efforts around Africa.

It's a challenge depending on the cuts themselves. How many Democrats do you think want to go home for reelection, either next year or the election after, saying they're okay with sharp cuts to the military?

You shouldn't jest. Sacred irradiation of food is a serious threat to the spiritual health of believers. Exposure to high-energy elementary spirituality can cause serious damage.

Halal meat can convey as much as .5 Iqbals (that's the scientific measure of creeping Shariah, based on the Gray unit, but measuring Islamofascism exposure.). Two or three helpings of Thanksgiving turkey and you begin to see moderate impairment of liberality, turban-wearing, and excessive interest in non-representational art. After two weeks of leftovers? Full jihadist.

On cue, Newt Gingrich doubles down.

Newt Gingrich: Child labor laws 'truly stupid' [Video]

"Get any job that teaches you to show up on Monday," he said. "Get any job that teaches you to stay all day even if you’re having a fight with your girlfriend. I mean, the whole process of making work worthwhile is central."

Later, when you have to support a family, and no longer come so cheap, will be time enough to tell you that you should have been responsible enough to in school and get a degree.

Newt's the master 'bater?
I shouldn't have done that

There's a Law and Order episode where the cops are looking for someone who goes by 'the Master Baiter' in some odd subculture related to their case. They find a work address, ask use the PA system, and ask the employee who is "the Master Baiter" to come to the front. Several young men looked panicked, so Mariska Hargitay adds--still over the PA--"Not A masturbator. THE Master Baiter."

Newsflash to Pam - our slaughtering methods aren't particularly pleasant, much less are the ways we "store" live birds prior to slaughter.

Besides, so long as the taste isn't affected, who the frak cares.

385 Flavia  Tue, Nov 22, 2011 6:37:11pm

There is a key difference between "kosher" & "halal". No, the meat is NOT "blessed by the rabbi" (wish I had a nickle for every time I've heard *that* one!), & halal meats must be "slaughtered in the name of Allah." Yes, I have heard that there are laxer halal certification groups that do not require that specific bit, & I'm pretty sure the Butterball people are using that one.

You're wrong about halal.

re: #386 Obdicut

I get my information from Muslims. Just your insistence that "I'm wrong" & a petty little down-ding isn't going to change my mind.

Unless you're trying to say that there are no "laxer" halal certifications, in which case, you're only adding fuel to the fire.
