Totally off topic, but I just found this. For all the gamers here:

Ezio's Revelations outfit can be worn by Noel Kreiss in Final Fantasy XIII-2.

So, Final Fantasy and Assassin's Creed are now connected....They better have a Squall or Sephiroth or Genesis costume available in the next Assassin's Creed game to reciprocate.

Nigerians Toughen Gay Criminalization Bill To Spite Obama

Lawmaker Zakari Mohammed boasted the House might even increase the penalties from the 14-year imprisonment prescribed in the Senate’s bill to spite the Obama administration’s efforts to promote LGBT freedom abroad, saying “to hell with the super powers if they are for gay marriages.” In fact, the latest version of the bill also punishes anyone who “registers, operates, or participates in gay clubs, societies, and organizations, or directly or indirectly makes a public show of same-sex amorous relationship.”

Russian Monitors, Party: Up to 25% of Vote Fabricated

Opposition leaders and rights activists on Wednesday presented fresh indications of massive fraud at last Sunday's parliamentary vote, insisting that election officials fabricated 20 percent to 25 percent of United Russia's result.

But Central Elections Commission head Vladimir Churov said evidence of the fraud had been fabricated, though he gave no details.

If ballots were counted accurately, United Russia's share would have been just under 30 percent instead of 49 percent, the Citizen Observer movement said.

At a news conference Wednesday, organizers of the group, which includes members of the Memorial human rights organization and the Golos election watchdog, presented a web site, which charts results based on 300 volunteers that collected data from 800 ballot stations throughout the country.

By late Wednesday, the site contained data from 102 stations and said United Russia's real share stood at 29.8 percent.

In a separate briefing, leaders of the liberal Yabloko party, which officially got 3.4 percent of the vote, told reporters that more half of their votes were stolen and that United Russia's real result was just 25 percent.

"The longer you look at these elections, the less they seem like elections," party chairman Sergei Mitrokhin said.

Bachmann: I Don’t Let My Daughters Ask Out Boys, ‘They Have To Wait For The Boys To Call’

BACHMANN: People do find out [in my book] that I did not get asked to my senior prom.

HANNITY: Well, neither did I. And nobody would go with me.

BACHMANN: Well, in my time, girls didn’t ask boys to prom. If you didn’t get asked, you didn’t go.

HANNITY: Yeah, well let me tell you, I have a 13-year-old son. Those days have changed big time.

BACHMANN: And our girls are not allowed to do that in our house. They have to wait for the boys to call.

I'm thinking of When Harry Met Sally. Can boys and girls (men/women) be friends with no chance of romance/sex, assuming each is hetero? I don't think so. I know people will say I'm wrong, but there's usually always one that is attracted to the other. There will always be sexual tension, if not outright sex.

Neighbors said the TV, other furniture and items belong to a man evicted from an apartment near Stewart Park Square where the Occupy Iowa camp is located. A woman caring for two small children was also evicted from her apartment, they said.

The nice thing about being a social ape is we have a very plastic brain that can be moulded quite successfully by social pressures. Not only genetics, but good-old-fashioned reverse psychology as well - if something seems difficult to obtain, people (rightly or wrongly) think it's more valuable or worth having. This dynamic even plays out in the job market, e.g. those idiotic "help wanted" ads that said the unemployed need not apply (the apparent "logic" being that, if no other company wants you at the moment, neither do we).

We are human beings who have the ability to override the hardwiring in our skulls, and, frankly, the moral obligation to do so on a regular basis.

seems fairly obvious...I like the ape analogy

Bonobo chimps use sex as a means of conflict resolution as well as group bonding and just plain fun.

We could take a lesson from them.

I don't think so...my sex life has always been and is still very healthy...I don't need no stinking ape to inform me what to do

Which reminds me--how old was Justin Bieber when Mariah Carey made that video with him? The one that Stewart just made fun of?

At the very least, bad taste.

re: #73 marjoriemoon

LOL My husband digs that.

Maybe it is that we (wimmens) are supposed to make you THINK you're the aggressor. Aha! I've never been so good at that myself.

We have fragile egos that need to believe we are in control and don't learn until much later, that relationships don't work unless control is equally split.

re: #75 publicityStunted

Not only genetics, but good-old-fashioned reverse psychology as well - if something seems difficult to obtain, people (rightly or wrongly) think it's more valuable or worth having. This dynamic even plays out in the job market, e.g. those idiotic "help wanted" ads that said only the already-employed need apply (the apparent "logic" being that, if no other company wants you at the moment, neither do we).

Yes, definitely could be a factor.

My mother told me these things and I told her she was dead wrong. I asked guys out! I had guy friends! They didn't want to screw me. Except that they did... and if they did, that's where we ended up or the friendship ended.

In the end, mom was dead right.

Some never learn, which is part of the reason for our high divorce rate.

I just mean instead of following the methods of gorillas to resolve conflict, we could use a more imaginative, manipulative and socially based method.

I'm not talking about war level conflict.

Dear Amazon: Thanks for suggesting that I tell everyone on facebook what I am buying as I buy it.

Have you considered the distinct possibility I am "friended" with the recipients?

I just like reminding myself and others that we are apes, genetically and functionally and that the separation between humans and our closest genetic relatives is one of degree not kind.

Since we all need a heartwarming anecdote tonight. My sister posted this, about a local wrestling match, and I am re-posting it with the names removed:

Great wrestling meet tonight. Besides the many great matches that took place, two spectacular matches highlighted the night -- two disabled boys each had a match against a W*** opponent and both times, both W*** kids made a good show and made sure the match went all three rounds and then let the other boy pin them -- even when it required the W*** wrestler to lay flat on the mat and coach the other boy into pinning him. The joy the two winners showed, leaping around the mat, grinning and waving to everyone, was so real and wonderful! The quiet humility the W*** wrestlers showed, shaking hands and happily congratulating the winners, and then simply walking back to their seats, was just as wonderful :) What a great night!
