Sort of but he's in a hell of a bind. With Gtimo he knows who those people are and he can't just let them go. He almost certainly knew that when he has campaigning. The legal framework for gitmo was pretty flawed so he can't really try them in civilian court and military courts are also troublesome.
I'm pretty sure the detention law doesn't really change anything in a practical sense but it does help stabilize the legal framework for dealing with future detainees.

I'm guessing it will never go away until the people in it have died. It's tragic, but many of the individuals cannot go before a civilian court as the case would be thrown out as many of the detainees have been tortured.

Sort of like flying Ryan Air, except he got better service.

Good God.
Well, good luck with that.

That's just the contiguous 48 states.

Here's with Alaska.

Suggested Routes
I-90 W to Alaska Hwy E
90 hrs 17 mins / 5177.28 miles
HWY-11 to Alaska Hwy E
91 hrs 53 mins / 4890.30 miles

That's with a continuous road network.
Fun.

re: #90 Varek Raith

Eastport, Maine to Port Orford, Oregon.

Suggested Routes
I-90 W to I-80 W
57 hrs 54 mins / 3633.60 miles

HWY-401 W to I-80 W
60 hrs 52 mins / 3628.93 miles

Then head north to the Trans-Canada highway and drive ~8030 km (4990 mi).

It's much more efficient to fly.

It would not be the first time the ACLU had some stretch in their read of an issue. Advocates disease.

I dig the ACLU but they are fundamentalist libertarians. At least they're consistent but fundamentalism makes that easy.

Just spent another $23 and change at a different store buying lumber and wood glue. I'm keeping my receipts for these recent projects in a folder, and sending copies to Lowe's to let them know how much money I enjoy spending almost anywhere else.

Lowe's can KMA.

Don't you feel sorry for the wagon pulling ox he'll have to gore during that trip?

I don't think the bill is going to circumvent fair trials or due process.

Maybe/maybe not with this President, but that kind discretionary power in Gingrich or Bachmann's hands is high octane nightmare fuel.
