Ron Paul Was Scheduled to Appear on a White Supremacist Radio Show in 2006

Another connection between Ron Paul and the racist underground

The New Republic has made available a collection of Ron Paul’s ugliest newsletters, and if you haven’t seen how bad this stuff is yet, you may be shocked.

I think it’s amazing and sad that this hasn’t been a political problem for Ron Paul before now. The content of these newsletters is so extreme and hateful, it’s disturbing indeed that a politician can rise to a very high national office and even run for President with views like these — and it’s obvious that Ron Paul could not possibly have been unaware of what was in the newsletters, published under his name.

And now there’s still more evidence of Ron Paul’s connections to the white supremacist far right.

I got an email from Adam Holland today about a post he just put up: Did Ron Paul appear on white supremacist radio show?

As I replied to Adam, I actually discovered this same link in May of this year, and posted LGF comments about it here and here.

The story so far: apparently Ron Paul was scheduled to appear on the notorious radio show “The Political Cesspool,” a talk show in Tennessee connected to the white separatist Council of Conservative Citizens and the Holocaust denial group Institute for Historical Review.

The announcement of Ron Paul’s appearance was posted on the blog of Political Cesspool co-founder Austin Farley: Congressman Ron Paul TONIGHT On The Cesspool.

Congressman Ron Paul TONIGHT On The Cesspool
One of the only truly conservative Congressmen in office today, Ron Paul, will be doing a live interview on The Political Cesspool [Link: www.thepoliticalcesspool.org…] tonight. The show is from 7-8 PM Central time and can be heard locally (Memphis) on 1380 AM WLRM or the live stream or archives if you miss it live will be at [Link: www.thepoliticalcesspool.org….] No matter what your opinion of the Cesspool is you will not want to miss this interview. I have heard that No Child Left Behind and possible Bush impeachment will be discussed, but I am not 100% sure on that. Tune in to find out.

If true, this would be the most direct connection yet between Ron Paul and the kind of people who cheer for David Duke. But as Adam Holland and I both discovered, the archives of The Political Cesspool radio show have apparently been scrubbed of this episode.

Here’s the archive page with the missing day.

I hadn’t posted about this previously because I’ve been unable to confirm that the show actually took place. But Ron Paul was clearly scheduled to appear and his interview was announced by one of The Political Cesspool’s resident troglodytes — and that missing day in their archives is very curious. In the context of the renewed focus on Paul’s racist, homophobic, and antisemitic newsletters, this is more evidence of a pattern of disturbing associations with the dregs of America’s racist underground.

And speaking of the dregs, if you scroll down the archive page linked above you’ll see that a week prior to Ron Paul’s scheduled appearance, the guest of honor on The Political Cesspool was none other than the crusty old white supremacist David Duke himself:

The Political Cesspool 8/11/06 (TN)

GUEST: DR. DAVID DUKE - Be with us tonight as we are joined from Austria by this author, commentator and former State Representative who will be offering us his take on the situation in Lebanon from the standpoint of American interests in the region.

Ron Paul’s fellow travelers. I’m still trying to find evidence that Ron Paul’s interview on this disgusting show happened as scheduled, so stay tuned.
