Santorum Booed Again for More Anti-Gay Bigotry

But he’s only stating the mainstream GOP opinion

Rick Santorum received another round of boos today in New Hampshire, for stating what is a completely mainstream Republican Party position: “Gays Aren’t Entitled To Marriage Or Military Service.”

Santorum argued that gay people shouldn’t have the “privilege” of enlisting in the armed forces or marrying because “we decide what’s in the best interest of our national security” and what kind of relationships are best for society. “It’s not discrimination not to grant privileges. It’s discrimination to deny rights,” he explained. “Everyone has a right to live their life, that doesn’t mean that they’re entitled to certain privileges that society gives for certain benefits that society obtains from those relationships.”

Santorum almost deserves credit for continuing to make these ugly, bigoted remarks when he knows he’s going to get jeered. But the simple fact is that all the GOP candidates agree with him on this.

He’s just more open and un-evasive about it.
