Speaking of delusional…
Sarah Palin Says Interview With Ex-Wife Will Help Gingrich ‘Soar Even More’
PALIN: I call them dumbarses. They, thinking that by trotting out this old Gingrich divorce interview that’s old news — and it does feature a disgruntled ex, claiming that it would destroy his campaign — all it does, Sean, is incentive conservatives and independents who are so sick of the politics of personal destruction, because it’s played so selectively by media, that their target, in this case Newt, he’s now going to soar even more. Because we know the game now, and we just won’t put up with it.
So, good call media! Way to go to covertly hype this, even Gingrich opponents, for being so brilliant they sure are dumb.
All it does is incentive? That doesn’t even make sense.

Backlash from takedown of the Megaupload file-sharing service, and arrest of the owners of the site (all in New Zealand), is starting.
Justice Department, Universal Music sites down after piracy arrests
Online activists angered over the indictment of popular file hosting site Megaupload on piracy charges appear to have shut down the sites of U.S. Department of Justice and Universal Music.
IRC chats supported by the Anonymous collective show participants discussing the DOJ site being down and talking about other U.S. government sites to target. The activists are angry about two proposed antipiracy bills backed by the music and movie industries, SOPA and PIPA, that critics say would give authorities broad power to shut down Web sites for the mere accusation that they had pirated content on them.

I think that a lot of the outrage is due to the fact that Megaupload was one of the more friendly sites toward copyright holders - so much so that they had endorsements by several artists in the entertainment industry. Add the fact that the Megaupload site, and all of its owners don’t reside in the US, yet were taken down and arrested by US authorities is rubbing people the wrong way.

Nothing would be more hilarious at this point than to see a Gingrich resurgence.
Perhaps I was premature in conceding my bet with engineer dog that Romney would not be the nominee. OTOH, If Gingrich does win SC, it may merely delay the inevitable. Though it would at least mean that Gingrich can continue to tear Romney down.

I understand that it’s rubbing folks the wrong way, but responding by tearing down the DoJ’s website? It sort goes against the whole “We oppose these bills, but think something needs to be done about piracy” slogan being pushed by opponents of these bills?

The Department of Justice’s website has been intermittently down and up in the past hour, and we can only imagine hackers and government agents fighting for control like a scene out of a movie. Universal Music’s homepage has been down for the past hour as well.
[snip]
Update: It appears Anonymous is also attempting to bring down the RIAA, MPAA and even the White House’s websites in response to the Megaupload case. The @AnonOps Twitter account has posted several tweets in the past hour with the hashtags #OpPayback and #OpMegauploadWe’ve seen RIAA and MPAA websites intermittently not load, but we have not seen whitehouse.gov taken down as of yet.
I think this may tend to distract legislators from thinking about reading and possibly trying to understand the bills they are sponsoring and voting on. Not good.

UPDATE: Anonymous takes down DoJ, UMG websites—attack on Whitehouse.gov underway
At just before 4PM CT on January 19, both the websites of the Department of Justice and Universal Music were made unavailable by denial of service attacks. Anonymous’ Barrett Brown told RT.com that “It was in retaliation for Megaupload, as was the concurrent attack on Justice.org.” Both sites are still down, and more attacks are being mounted; Anonymous members have now targeted the sites of the Motion Picture Association of America and the White House, and other government sites.
Additionally, in a wave of attacks labelled “OpDonkeyPunch” by Barrett Brown, the frequent spokesperson for Anonymous, the group is targeting Democrats in Congress who support SOPA, attacking their websites. Brown also published the fax machine phone number for Republican Rep. Lamar Smith, sponsor of SOPA.

As Hive Fleet Leviathan approached, Deathleaper instinctively sensed that killing the planet’s spiritual leader, Cardinal Salem, would only make the planet harder to devour as it would create a martyr and steel the resolve of the people against the coming swarm. So Deathleaper instead infiltrated the Cardinal’s cathedral-bunker and slaughtered his advisors right in front him, leaving the Cardinal unharmed but drenched in the blood and viscera of his aides. Deathleaper repeated his process for ten days, each time bypassing the ever increasing security to come within killing distance of the Cardinal but always retreating before harming him. This lead to the Cardinal becoming paranoid and eventually losing his sanity, and did more to break the morale of St Caspelan than simply executing their spiritual leader would have. When Leviathan invaded, the world was in confusion and terror and was easy prey.

Did The Republican Party Formally Abandon The Two-State Solution?
Wow, Uhhhh…. That’s a pretty wild interpretation. Not surprising giver the antisemitism allegations with Think Progress lately. There’s a lot to quibble with about the proposal but I don’t think it says what the rabid lefties claim.

Well he could do something constructive and sew his mouth zipper shut.
Did I just say that out loud?

I suppose it’s possible that a “united Israel” means something other than what it suggests on the surface. Please, illuminate me.

I doubt that’s what they meant by it.
That said, I am curious to know what they meant by it.
And ‘rabid lefties’ are rabidly opposed to the two-state resolution, so if this is what they think the GOP said, it’s gonna be interesting.

The If you follow the links you can find the document, it’s pretty much historically ignorant, claims that Israel is god given land and claims that Israel isn’t occupying anything. It mentions the ‘48 UN charter but they ignore that the borders have changed. It’s just a stupid proposal for the N. Carolina legislature. It doesn’t really mean anything.
As for the “United” Israel they might have been trying to refer to Jerusalem, or just referencing the country as it is today. It’s hard to tell. Think Progress and the blogger they reference spend a lot of time and effort smearing Israel and Republicans. Just because they found a historically ignorant (and meaningless proposal) doesn’t amount to much.

I checked the source blog for the Think Progress claim, if you scroll down 3-4 stories the blogger claims that the 2 state solution is dead. Go figure.

I have something to ask you.
Whom, exactly, on LGF were your accusing in that comment that got deleted this morning?

The people who starting chiming in that it was acceptable to question the loyalty of Americans who support Israel and that “Israel Firsters” was an acceptable allegation.

This revolution?? That long shot looks quite painful. Where’s everybody? Where’s the press?
By the looks of it…. This revolution will not be televised.
