Live Video: CPAC 2012, With Bonus White Nationalists

Presidential candidates lend their names to promote white supremacism
Wingnuts • Views: 26,857

As we noted yesterday, this year CPAC is hosting a panel discussion featuring an outright, unspinnable white nationalist race hater, Peter Brimelow. When the organizers were confronted about this disgusting development, they refused to renounce Brimelow:

The American Conservative Union is standing by its decision to permit a panel at CPAC that includes a leading white nationalist figure, Peter Brimelow.

“CPAC is proud to have more than 150 sponsors and exhibitors this year,” said spokeswoman Kristy Campbell in an email. “This panel was not organized by the ACU, and specific questions on the event, content or speakers should be directed to the sponsoring organization. Cosponsors and affiliated events do not necessarily represent the opinions of the American Conservative Union.”

What else do you need to know about the right wing?

Here’s a live video feed of what can now only be called a hatefest:

These guys are so fucking pathetic.
"It's not as doomy or gloomy as that...Obama carried Virginia, North Carolina and Florida in 2008...he won't win any of those states in 2012..." (applause)...and why the hell would he lose all those states? Increased employment? Killing Osama? Ending the unliked War in Iraq?

11 HappyWarrior  Thu, Feb 9, 2012 10:19:50am

Did I just hear that no Democrat has been elected president ever? Delusional much? And Mitch McConnell thinks "conservatives are more fun." Really this is a bunch of old dudes whining about how things aren't the way they want it. If that's fun then so is eating paint.

“CPAC is proud to have more than 150 sponsors and exhibitors this year,” said spokeswoman Kristy Campbell in an email.

So they're proud to have the white supremicists.

Also, too, anybody know where GOProud is this year?

Now they are worried about wining the Presidency, the House, and the Senate, and not being able to change enough. Maybe they are putting the cart before the horse.

This Year’s CPAC Straw Poll Won’t Be ‘Stacked’ By Ron Paul Supporters, Organizers Claim

Al Cardenas, chair of the American Conservative Union which sponsors CPAC, told me at his Thursday morning press avail that there’s no sign of a Paul ticket buy-out in 2012 (Paul isn’t even here; he sent his son, Sen. Rand Paul [R-KY], to speak on his behalf while he campaigns in Maine). That was how Paul won in 2011: his supporters bought up 1,000 or so tickets and brought in Paulites just to cast their vote.

Cardenas said that he hasn’t seen signs that any other are trying to buy the vote either. CPAC organizers have also instituted new balloting procedures they say will boost turnout, which has generally been pretty low. This year, attendees can vote with their phones and iPads, instead of just through paper ballots.

“No one’s stacking the deck this year,” Cardenas said. “It’s a wide-open process. I don’t think any of [the candidates] want to be caught with a perception that they’re trying to stack the deck and then lose the straw ballot. … The outcome will be far less predictable.”

39 Targetpractice  Thu, Feb 9, 2012 10:33:54am

"Entitlement's saved" and "Paul Ryan" don't go in the same sentence without the words "by privatization" are in there somewhere.

Santorum: Obama Has Put America On ‘The Path’ Of Executing Religious People By Decapitation

SANTORUM: They are taking faith and crushing it. Why? Why? When you marginalize faith in America, when you remove the pillar of God-given rights, then what’s left is the French Revolution. What’s left is the government that gives you right, what’s left are no unalienable rights, what’s left is a government that will tell you who you are, what you’ll do and when you’ll do it. What’s left in France became the guillotine. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re a long way from that, but if we do and follow the path of President Obama and his overt hostility to faith in America, then we are headed down that road.

51 Feline Emperor of the Conservative Tears  Thu, Feb 9, 2012 10:48:57am

Hmm. Alternate Theory.

CPAC is purposefully over the top in order to irritate the Democratic oysters into producing more pearls. Thus more available for the GOP to clutch after Obama wins (though this is only a facade since the free market for pearls has performed better.)

After Report, Islamophobic Group Scrubs Quote Legitimizing Anti-Muslim Norwegian Mass Murderer

On Tuesday, ThinkProgress reported on the discovery by Demographics United that the Islamophobic filmmakers at the Clarion Fund sent an e-mail newsletter promoting a quote from a reader that attempted to legitimate the views of anti-Muslim Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik.

In the 1,500-page manifesto he wrote before slaughtering 77 people, Breivik, who appeared in court this week, recommended a Clarion Film for “further study” about Islam. The reader in the newsletter, whom Clarion claimed was writing from Norway, both whitewashed Breivik’s worldview — falsely suggesting his opposition was only to “Islamist terrorism” rather than to the religion Islam in general — and seemed to claim that a new report from Norway’s security agencies vindicated the mass-killer’s views.

As of yesterday, the comment by the “reader in Norway” no longer appeared on the Clarion site, [Link: www.radicalislam.org....] The entire newsletter, which used to be available on the web by clicking on a link in the e-mail, now takes viewers to a Clarion page that reads: “The requested page could not be found” (pictured above right). Reached on his cellphone, Clarion official Alex Traiman declined to comment to repeated questions about the newsletter and its disappearance from the web.

They love Rick Santorum: "There is no Constitutional right to privacy."

He might be right that the word doesn't show up in there (and neither does the word/name "god", but has that ever made a difference to him). But it does say at one point:

Amendment 4 - Search and Seizure

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Sounds like my privacy cannot be infringed upon without a very good reason.

Well first, they'd tell Cameron that religion was not the focus of this new republic, that they'd actually kept religion out of the Constitution so as not to repeat the situation that existed in England with the Church and State being effectively one, and that no religion has the right to tell all people of this nation what they can and can't do based upon a narrow reading of religious doctrine.

Middle East monarchies? Which ones would that be?

Jordan, whose regime came to the throne because of the Brits backing him as Emir of Transjordan (Abdullah, his son Talal (who abdicated to his grandson King Hussein, and is currently ruled by Hussein's son Abdullah II)?

Must be Saudi Arabia, which was founded by Ibn Saud, and who realized the folly of a confrontation with the Brits and remains in the hands of the Saudi clan?

Gay sex is icky (except for the fake lesbians in porn!) so gay marriage is a cancer. Every language other than English sucks, so we need to make English the official language. There are too many brown people, so let's build a border fence and/or deport anyone who speaks Spanish. White people are becoming a minority, so we have to ban birth control and abortion to increase breeding rates. Etc.

There were no large international corporations back then, the very concept of the multinational was alien to them.

And the notion of granting them legal personhood would have been abhorrent.

But there was, the East India Company. A privately owned (by very wealthy men) company that got special treatment from the government to help them keep a monopoly. Had their own army/navy, and pretty much did what the fuck they wanted.

But unlike today, when they got preferential treatment over us colonists the shit hit the fan.

... There are too many brown people, so let's build a border fence and/or deport anyone who speaks Spanish. ...

We already did the deportation thing once to brown American citizens.

The Mexican Repatriation refers to a mass migration that took place between 1929 and 1939, when as many as 500,000 people of Mexican descent were forced or pressured to leave the US. The event, carried out by American authorities, took place without due process. Some 35,000 were deported, amongst many hundreds of thousands of other immigrants who were deported during this period. The Immigration and Naturalization Service targeted Mexicans because of "the proximity of the Mexican border, the physical distinctiveness of mestizos, and easily identifiable barrios."

Hi Everyone.
So i was at the gym last night and the area i usually am on the Elliptical was being mopped so i went to the other side of the gym and that is where they have Fox news on. It is basically the 700 Club. Very odd to watch. I didn't find it funny like i thought i would, i found it more than alarming.
I don't remember everything exactly but they had a big banner on the bottom that said, THE FIGHT FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM or something similar, with a grainy faded pic of Obama next to it.
The night seemed to be devoted to how Christians do not, or will soon not have religious freedom in this country. They seem to be confusing religious freedom with religious control.

The undomesticated versions of a lot of food plants are pretty amazing to compare to the current varietes: teosinte versus corn, wild chiles--about the size of dime--versus the several thousand cultivated varieties--et cetera. Relative to Mr. Cameron's own daft arguments about intelligent design, it's pretty astounding to contrast a wild banana species to any of the domesticated varieties.
