Trotta's a sick puppy. I mean she seems to actually think rape is something to chuckle about.
... and to expect whenever you put men and women in close proximity. It evidences an extremely low opinion of men and their self control, both in general, and in our military specifically. This is "supporting our troops".

Yes. It's an odd statement; she's trying to be an "anti-Feminist" but she's also saying "all men can't be trusted" which is not really an anti-Feminist POV.
Just saw their message:

Yeah, no kidding. She has an extremely low opinion not just of guys but the troops as a whole. Really if I were a veteran, I'd be even more pissed than I am at this woman.

"Men" who rape have no place in a disciplined military.

Not only that, but I don't know who she's insulting more -- women, or the men who serve in the military. She's basically calling all of the male troops abusers and rapists and saying that women should expect to be hurt when they're around them.

It always does amaze me how easily people can get away with tossing out this sort of nonsense. I suppose many people, men especially, prefer "We can't help it!" to admitting that we have a culture that largely allows rape and other types of abuse against women and that it's up to the people committing the abuse to stop.

I've served in very close quarters with women on ships many times. Never raped a one. Hmmm...
Fox talking heads are reliable about loving the profitable hardware of the Defense department, but tend to despise anything to do with spending money on the people that run it.
DeSmogBlog referred their blog to Huffington Post therefore their argument is invalid!
//
Didn'y say it was invalid... just HuffPo is not exactly known for their science accuracy. They should have referred people to either Bad Astronomy or to good old LGF.
PETA can go fuck themselves too. Really, if you sincerely care about animal rights abuses, PETA is the worst.
Self-radicalization seems to be the natural order of advocacy organizations. You'll always have a distribution of viewpoints, and the true believers will tend to win most arguments over time (as the more moderate members will tend to be more likely to say 'aww fuckit, I'm out'). Values of 'moderate' and 'radical' will vary over time as the group spirals inwards to an ever-stronger-and-stranger viewpoint.

They referred to a posting by a DSB figure. Who has a blog at HuffPo. Shocka!

Sure it is. "Boys will be boys." "Men have certain urges, why are you so suprised?" "Any woman in man's job is asking for it." This is classic old-school 'rape is no big deal, silly feminists' crap.
The anti-feminist perspective is: "You are prey, and actually, that's exactly what you want to be. Any mistakes you make are your own fault, and men can hardly be blamed for being predators, that's just what they are--and it's kind of sexy, isn't it?"

Don't forget the old "She was wearing BDUs judge. She was asking for it!".

The forerunner to the CCF was the Guest Choice Network, which was organized in 1995 by Berman with money from Philip Morris,[2] "to unite the restaurant and hospitality industries in a campaign to defend their consumers and marketing programs against attacks from anti-smoking, anti-drinking, anti-meat, etc. activists ..." According to Berman, the mission was to encourage operators of "restaurants, hotels, casinos, bowling alleys, taverns, stadiums, and university hospitality educators" to "support [the] mentality of 'smokers rights' by encouraging responsibility to protect 'guest choice.'"[4] In November 2001, the group launched a website, ActivistCash.com, which compiled information gathered from IRS documents and media reports, describing the funding and activities of groups it opposed, and listed key activists and celebrity links. In January 2002 the Guest Choice Network became the Center for Consumer Freedom, a change of name the group said reflected that "the anti-consumer forces [were] expanding their reach beyond restaurants and taverns [and] going into your communities and even your homes."

Geller not featured on center stage is "pro-shariah."
When her half-caff latte is all-caff, that's also shariah.
(What am I saying? Evidence indicates that Pam has never had a half-caff anything in her life. Unless this is her on a no-caffeine regimen...in which case I'm kind of scared.)
Anti-Islam blogger Pamela Geller has accused TX Gov. Rick Perry of being the pro-Sharia "Fifth Column" presidential candidate -- but still says she'd support him if she had to "with every breath of my body."[Link: tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com...]
NRA, Sierra Club, Greenpeace, many of the early temperance unions... the list is a long one. Resisting that tendency to self-radicalization is very challenging.
Boys will be boys. They take cookies from the jar without asking, they break the lamp (actually, it's been a door, a computer screen, and a trumpet, so far), they put a baseball through the picture window.
And we put them in time out, because they are boys. Boys.
Men, I expect to be men. That means adulthood. That means maturity. that means thinking of others.
I expect that boys will be boys, but I expect that a man will not be a boy, but a man.
PETA is a porno production company that fronts as an "animal rights" org, but their primary function is to provide career opportunities for aspiring porno actresses.

Maybe if it seemed more mutual...I don't know, they're both in traction, but smiling and holding hands...
And the panties shoved up her butt on one side...super-classy.
I don't know. Sometimes I think PETA gets the girls who were just too needy and strange for Suicide Girls to work with.

They realize it gets them attention. I mean, sure whatever message they might have gets lost and they end up utterly degrading human women, but it gets them attention!

It is the same thinking that characterizes fundamentalist Islam: women must be completely veiled to prevent men from losing control of themselves.

It's a little different in some ways.
In fundamentalist Islam, at least things are internally fairly consistent. If a woman is raped, the consequences to her honor and that of her family are horrific, so, cover up, and go nowhere alone.
In Trotta world, if a woman is raped it's her fault, also not a big deal, but she shouldn't have been dressed like that, but if she dresses demurely, men won't like her and she's probably a feminist or a dyke, and also, it probably didn't happen, but if it did, she wanted it...your head spins.

I have always taken exception to the libel that "feminists hate men". Maybe the ones that the media chooses to idolize hate men - those whackjobs certainly do say some catchy phrases. But most feminists do not hate men, just the idea that male-domination is natural, fair, timeless, etc.
That said, we're back to whackjobs. This [expletive deleted] needs a serious beat-down. & I'm not even sure I mean just mentally/verbally. Seriously, she is sick-making to the point of just-as-unreasoning anger in return.
