Right Wing Blogger RS McCain: ‘Slut Joins N-Word on List of Forbidden Terms’

Robert Stacy McCain is being persecuted again
Wingnuts • Views: 39,886

Of all the many disgusting posts at right wing blogs about Rush Limbaugh’s misogynistic attacks on Sandra Fluke, this may be the most revealing; from racist pig Robert Stacy McCain:

While We Were Out, Rush Limbaugh Apologized and Romney Won the Washington State GOP Caucuses : The Other McCain.

So “slut” joins the “n-word” on the List of Forbidden Terms, and we are now at a loss for any way to describe Meghan McCain.

Nobody’s stopping you from using the “N-word” all you like, Mr. McCain. Why not let the hatred flow? Think how free you’ll feel.

So, RSM, you're just itching to say the n-word, aren't you? What with you writing articles for racist magazines and all...

It was not so very long ago that we had at least one regular poster HERE who was upset that this word was frowned upon at LGF. Misogyny is a terrible thing.

Dan Riehl sure likes to think about child molesting. A lot.

How do these people not get that it's not about the word, it's about the inaccuracy? Sandra Fluke is no more a slut than she is a Smurf.

And why do people talk about sluts like it's a bad thing? I've had nothing but positive experiences with sluts.

10 Targetpractice  Sun, Mar 4, 2012 10:21:46am

Yes Robert, believe it or not, it's 2012, not 1952...hell, what am I saying, even back then screaming "slut!" was seen as classless and disgusting.

They're trying again to change the subject, just as Issa did with his "religious freedoms" hearing. It's not about sex, it's about equality of health insurance coverage for women, but they can't let that be the topic.

It's Not A Controversy Unless The President's Barack Obama:
Most of Obama's "Controversial" Birth Control Rule Was Law During Bush Years

In December 2000, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ruled that companies that provided prescription drugs to their employees but didn't provide birth control were in violation of Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which prevents discrimination on the basis of sex. That opinion, which the George W. Bush administration did nothing to alter or withdraw when it took office the next month, is still in effect today—and because it relies on Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, it applies to all employers with 15 or more employees. Employers that don't offer prescription coverage or don't offer insurance at all are exempt, because they treat men and women equally—but under the EEOC's interpretation of the law, you can't offer other preventative care coverage without offering birth control coverage, too.

I grew up in a segregated America, and even though we were called many things at the time, the use of derogatory terms were forbidden by our parents. To this day, I don't use the term n----- to refer to myself or any other Black American. I also don't use derogatory terms to refer to whites, Hispanic persons, Muslims, Asians, etc. I owe a debt to my parents for explaining to me at a young age that there is never a reason to refer to anyone, even ourselves, in a disparaging way. This rule has allowed me to have an open mind and to make friends without relying on old stereotypes and negative words. If anyone in this country should have reason to use derogatory terms to refer to others, my name should be first on the list. Having parents that took the time to actually parent and raise their kids with the sure feeling that the world would be different as their kids got older was a gift that has benefited me in many ways. I only wish more parents would teach their kids to view the world in the same way that my parents did.

In the age of the internet, education needs to be entirely redesigned. The focus should be on teaching children thinking rather than memorization. This was always true, but now more than ever facts can be looked up, but thinking can only happen inside each individual person's brain.

It also follows the "Teach a man to fish..." principle. You can't design education to account for every possible situation a person will encounter in the future, but if you teach a kid to think, they're prepared for anything that comes their way.

McCain as usual will profess utter bafflement and shock that many people find his post objectionable and then attack those that do for being the real racists for even thinking in that way.

Nothing that anyone says is going to put so much as a tiny dent in the wall of denial he has erected around himself.

The head in that cartoon is modeled after those used in White Supremacist Tom Metzger's site.

During his years of activism, Metzger has been adept at using several kinds of media to spread his message, including a monthly Internet-based newspaper, radio and television shows and appearances, videos, books, stickers, cartoons, a telephone hotline, a Web site, and an e-mail newsletter.

Metzger's Internet-based newspaper, The Insurgent describes itself as “the most racist newspaper on earth.” A typical issue consists of an editorial written by Metzger; letters to the editor; excerpts from Metzger's telephone and Internet messages; articles contributed by “associates,” which have included Sister Lisa Turner of the white supremacist World Church of the Creator (now the Creativity Movement) and Albion Wolf of the White Dragon (many more contributions are printed anonymously); cartoons featuring grotesque caricatures of blacks, Jews, Hispanics and gays; and listings of audio and video tapes, books and racist stickers for sale. In most issues, Metzger publishes a platform of statements, delineating in brief his stance on a host of issues, including race, environment, abortion, religion, international affairs, economics, women and gays...

83 jaunte  Sun, Mar 4, 2012 11:10:00am

Here's an old cartoon that echoes McCain's verboten words complaint:
Image: hitlerfips.jpg

For a period in the 1920’s, Hitler was forbidden to address public meetings in much of Germany, which was a major blow to the Nazi propaganda apparatus. This poster, by cartoonist Philipp Rupprecht (most known for his cartoons for Julius Streicher’s Der Stürmer) is captioned: He alone of two billion people on earth may not speak in Germany.”

Tom Metzger (white supremacist)

Thomas Metzger (born April 9, 1938) is an American white supremacist who founded White Aryan Resistance (WAR). His far-right activist groups, including WAR, have been monitored by the Southern Poverty Law Center, an American organization that tracks hate groups. He has been incarcerated in Los Angeles County, California and Toronto, Ontario, and has been the subject of several lawsuits and government inquiries. Metzger has also been involved with the Republican and Democratic parties, as an activist and a candidate. A neo-Nazi, who was also the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1970s, Metzger has voiced strong opposition to U.S. immigration...

The right wing's "Achilles' heel" is that they're mindless wagon-circlers. They are constantly "circling the wagons" in fear of enemies real and imaginary, and each time they do it, the circle gets a little smaller and a few more people end up outside of it. Eventually the people outside of the circle constitute a majority.

I don't support Occupy AIPAC, I just think it's not accurate to try to pin this antisemitic garbage on the whole left wing.

It seems fairly representative of Occup AIPAC. Anon's involvement with the Occupy movement is not a secret. I never blamed this on "the whole left wing". If there are so many lefties speaking out against open displays of antisemitism then why can't I join them in denouncing it?

There's about a billion and a half reasons why Occupy didn't have staying power-- the main ones just being that the logistics of occupying public spaces is fucking daunting, and that if you have ideological non-voters around they're going to clash with the actual political activists.

They may or may not have inspired the 99%/1% rhetoric, the discussion about income inequality. I don't know how to figure out if they inspired it, or they just rode the wave.

But now they're a tiny remnant, of interest mainly to right-wing bloggers, while we have actual bonafide racist insane fuckheads like Sheriff Joe in real, actual power over other human beings. We have Romney, elite liar grade 19, possibly winning the presidency and able to appoint Supreme Court judges who will further break down separation of church and state and further deny civil rights to many Americans.

We have many systemic problems in this country. Occupy is not one of them.

Well yeah. Because at its heart it was a leaderless, rudderless movement. The folks in Zuccotti Park had a defined goal, but once it got out of their hands and the copycats started cropping up all over the place, the original message was lost.

It's like the Tea Party. Yeah, Faux News astroturfed a fair amount of it, but there are plenty of fringe groups that slapped the words Tea Party on their fan club and who have their own agendas too.

The New York General Assembly voted to endorse Occupy AIPAC.

Because those are the same people who were in Zuccotti Park from the beginning, and there was some sort of official election and stuff.

Honestly, I know you get off on tying everyone and everything that you don't like to OWS, but give it a fucking rest already.

re: #169 Obdicut

Honestly think that the ultimate problem with Occupy was the very concept, namely of camping out in one spot indefinitely. Yeah, it meant the movement got a lot of press, but the very logistics of long-term occupation ultimately weighed against them. It would have been better had they limited it, say to weekends or so many days in the week itself, instead of turning parks into the modern equivalent of hobo camps.

175 jaunte  Sun, Mar 4, 2012 11:57:40am

From the Nation, Sept. 29, 2011:

How many people have responded to the Adbusters call? How large is the group? And how large has it ever been?

The original Adbusters call envisioned 20,000 people flooding the Financial District on September 17. A tenth of that probably ended up being there that day. Despite a massive Anonymous-powered online social media blitz, lots of people simply didn’t know about it, and traditional progressive organizations like labor unions and peace groups were uncomfortable signing on to so amorphous an action. Over the course of a difficult first week, with arrests happening just about every day, new faces kept coming, as others filtered out to take a break. The media coverage after last weekend’s mass arrests and alleged police brutality has brought many more. Now, during the day and into the night, one finds 500 or more people in the plaza, and maybe half that sleeping over.* At any given time, several thousand people around the world are watching the occupation’s 24/7 livestream online.

Paul: Limbaugh apologized for personal gain

On CBS News' "Face the Nation," the Texas congressman told host Bob Schieffer that Limbaugh's apology "was in his best interest."

"He's doing it because some people were taking their advertisements off of his program. It was his bottom line he was concerned about," Paul said.

Paul referred to three companies that pulled advertisements from Limbaugh's show following incendiary remarks Limbaugh made about Fluke for testifying before a mock Congressional committee in favor of free contraception insurance coverage at Georgetown, a Jesuit university. [One company's spokesman said that Limbaugh's comments "do not align [with] our values." Another pulled out "Due to continued inflammatory comments - along with valuable feedback from clients and team members" about the remarks.]

"I don't think he's very apologetic," Paul said. "It's in his best interest, that's why he did it."

And he's pretty much right, Rush did this to save his own ass, not because he's particularly apologetic. If he truly felt that he'd wronged Fluke, he'd have made the apology either in person or on-air, not through his agent on his website, in the middle of the weekend.

Hell, even the few wingnuts I've spoken with all admit he did this to bring back the advertisers, but that's because they don't think he has anything to apologize for.

They never apologize for the substance because they don't feel in the slightest apologetic for the substance. They believe they have the right to say anything without consequence. Of course that isn't what free speech means in the slightest, but that's how they run.

He probably thinks this "proof" that the libertarian belief that you can "shame" somebody into making amends works. All it proves is that rich folks have plenty of lawyers and agents well-versed in the art of hammering out non-apologies.

And he never said he misrepresented her testimony. He still told millions of people she was talking about her sex life and they still think thats the case.

I just read the transcript, and unless the source I used edited the transcript there was no implication that women are having sex so often they can't keep up with contraceptive costs. In fact the majority of what she said was about medical problems that can be mitigated by contraceptives and that the insurance is paid for by the students with no financial input from the University.

The RL right is so full of shit.

I'm starting to think the RL right is upset college women are having sex more often than they are and because it's less painful than to admit their own relationships are poor they act the adolescent and call college women names.

To validate their reasoning they have to assume contraceptive equates to condoms and not oestrogen and progestogen.

One of the conservatives on CNN's roundtable was complaining this morning that all the Sunday talk shows were talking about Rush Limbaugh rather than gas prices. Conservatives and Republicans took it upon themselves to defend religious institutions that thought they were above the law, lost the issue when Obama made his compromise, got desperate and started holding "religious freedom" sausagefests in Congress and making disgraceful and misogynistic comments on the air about Sandra Fluke, provoked a huge public backlash, and are now whining that everybody's talking about the meaningless issue that is contraception.

Also, what happened to DF and steve? I haven't been on in a while.

What it really boils down to in a lot of ways is that Fluke, a smart and confident woman, had the audacity to bring facts into the mix. That she, under oath, laid out the reality that contraception is not "cheap," that many woman are forced to go without due to not having the resource to afford it, and that the medical consequences of doing so can rob women of the chance to ever have children in the first place.

She did, in one day, more damage to the Right's argument for "religious freedom" than weeks of arguments in the press, in Congress, and online. And so, for that, she had to be destroyed.

Yep, which is why "slut" is now being accompanied by "liar" and "fraud," because just defacing her is not enough, they have to obliterate her testimony in its entirety. Hence wingnuts trying to find "proof" that you can't rack up $1000 annually in contraception costs, the "secret" that she was an activist, and even the "outrage" over her age (she's 30, not 23, what a liar!).

I think that the right-wing forgets that women are actually a majority. It's been easy for them to beat up on women over abortion access because, sadly, abortion is a hushed, not-talked about thing that many women object to on religious grounds and more just don't want to talk about.

But stuff like contraception-- basic, common sense stuff, that 95% of women know and use-- that's a really stupid fight to pick with the majority of the country.

That's why they tried so hard to argue it on the grounds of "religious freedom," but that fell apart when it started to become obvious that many within the party ranks really believe that banning contraception would be a good thing. And once the issue became contraception and not religion, then it was all downhill from there.

Alas, they cannot help themselves -- uttering and posting base, bellicose blather is in their nature.
