Sandra Fluke Clarifies Misperceptions About Obama’s Contraception Rule

FLUKE: I want to correct the misperception, which Mr. Limbaugh and a lot of other commentators have been putting out there to confuse the public, the idea that this is about taxpayers or the government paying for contraception. It is absolutely not. This regulation covers private insurance and it wants to have this type of medical drug treated in a way that’s similar to how other medical drugs are treated. And it is health care.

Well this looks like it should be good for a few laughs...

RPN outlines what we should look for in a President.

The nominee must be one the Body of Christ can support and one who carries the mantle to lead the nation in this time of economic, social and political uncertainty. Who has God anointed to lead the U.S. and influence the international scene? In numerous conversations with believers in the evangelical and apostolic stream, our conclusion is that there has been uncertainty among God’s people. A significant number of leaders are saying they simply can’t support some of the candidates. Let’s be reminded it was Samuel the Lord chose to send to Bethlehem and anoint a young David as king. The Church can’t sit on the sidelines and be spectators for the next eight months!
...
2. One who has played on a team. Never trust a leader who has not participated in a team sport or function.
...
3. One who seeks and implements divine wisdom. We will not emerge from this crisis on the merits of human wisdom or political astuteness. A leader’s spiritual life is of vital importance to their policies, procedures and general atmosphere within an administration. America’s next president must be one who fears God and seeks His wisdom.
...
5. One who is a strong leader yet understands how to lead as a priest. America needs someone who leads from a position of recognizing they are under authority and not a dictator. As high priest, Jesus could be touched by the people and He interceded for them. He is King and Priest.

The whole democracy thing is lost on these people.

As an aside, do traits in STO matter all that much in the grand scheme of things?

They help in certain ways, depending on which kinda character build you're going for. But overall, I've not felt overly handicapped by the choices I made.

I hope Netanyahu gave Barack the Ebonics version (duck’n & runn’n)

5 bucks sez that those Freeper yahoos in that thread aren't even Jewish. Not even one. That's so typical with these wingnuts. Always yapping away about all things Jewish or Israel with hardly any representation. They only use the topic as a means to express their anti-Arab and anti-Muslim derangement.

109 Ming  Mon, Mar 5, 2012 4:43:21pm

As offensive as Limbaugh is, his verbal attacks are likely to discourage many people from coming forward to give their viewpoints, when those opinions don't toe the right-wing party line. It's important that such intimidation does not happen. Limbaugh's former advertisers should know that if they choose not to give him any more money, they are championing the cause of free speech.

As crazy as the "discourse" of the right wing is, usually on a daily basis, it's easy to forget that the craziness has a real effect on people. There are thousands of fine people all over America who are considering a career in climate science, or evolutionary biology, or genetic algorithms ("evolutionary software"), or women's health, who don't lack for courage, but would rather not have their names dragged all over the airwaves. Good people who would rather protect their family's privacy. Advertisers need to speak with their dollars, and conservatives like David Frum and George Will need to continue to speak out against anyone who goes way too far. Limbaugh is clearly in that category. I hope people realize that there is no future in funding him, and other would-be intimidators of good people, like the Heartland Institute.

Even if he increased my $, which I have not asked, it's just a hassle & I don't need it. He used to be on PC's which I could remotely access and do the work at my leisure, now he has Mac's which he says I can't access. It's a hassle to do drive deep into La Jolla, do bullshit work that doesn't pay enough in the end. bleah. I'm checking for his response, but the bottom line is I'm done with it.

re: #192 Saint Putin on a Toast

Do you get punished if you ignore it?

Yeah. This is from the Northern District of California:

Any person who fails to report for jury duty may be served with an order to show cause. The court may then hold a hearing on the order to show cause. A juror who fails to show adequate cause for the absence can be held in contempt of court under the Jury Selection Act. The penalty can be a fine of up to $1,000, up to three days imprisonment, a term of community service, or any combination of these.

Not sure if that differs from district to district, state to state, etc.

When I was called for jury duty it went like this. The first thing the judge did was take attendance. The next thing she did was issue bench warrants for those not present and ordered the officer to go get them.

Two of the top stories on hot air are Fluke

Story keeps going!

Here's some more hotair comments from momma's basement boys:

Fluke is a lesbian who used to fight for insurance to cover sex changes. I’m going to like to see how the demorats are going to handle this!

***

Fock Fluke!…oh wait!
Everybody has! (except that dude troll that has to blow up his dates, whatever!)

***

The whore’s just mad because she’s a man-faced slut that nobody wants to so much as touch… let alone #*&^…

***

Rush just hit to close to home for the homely hooker and her club nose and butch hair-cut. It only stings when it’s true…

***

Well how many condoms would a girl have to go through per day to reach $3000?

[Link: www.walmart.com...]

At WalMart you can get a 48 pack for $25. $3000/25 = 120 packages of 48 condoms!! 120 x 48 = 5760 condoms in one year! 5760/365 = 15.78 per day!!!!

Sorry… but Rush was right if she is going through 16 condoms a day! No apology was needed.

***

I’m thinking she should be more concerned about fertility after going through 3,000 dollars worth of unprotected sex and not becoming with child – which she would, of course, abort anyway.

***

"Poor Sandra. She will forever be known as the fugly feminazi that begs for rubbers from whoever wont give her any… oh who am I kidding, this is a life-accomplishment for a POS leftist."

And then there's this:

Of course, for every green-minded GOP donor, there’s a large segment of supporters pushing Romney in another direction on energy issues. 250 years ago, in an arguably more civilized time (in many, though not all respects), a close relative of Ms Fluke would be wiping Limbaugh's blood off his sword onto Limbaugh's coat at about 6:30 AM on foggy field.

The seconds confer. The supine Limbaugh is hauled away to see if the surgeon could salvage him. Honor is satisfied. Limbaugh survives (barely) and learns to keep his mouth shut where it concerns women.

But that isn't what happens anymore...

I have to say that the part about how he should get to watch videos of the woman having sex is really creepy -- like dirty old man prowling in the park in an overcoat creepy.

I also think it's too rich that he has taken an issue over which you could have a rationale debate (i.e., whether a cash strapped government should be spending tax dollars on contraception) and ran it firmly aground on a morality lecture.

They just can't resist and they never learn.
