Pamela Geller: ‘I’ve Had It Up to Here With Sandra Fluke’s Obama-Endorsed Vagina’

Crazy hater just keeps ranting
Wingnuts • Views: 33,302

After his repellent misogynistic comments about law student Sandra Fluke, almost all of Rush Limbaugh’s major advertisers have dropped his show like a hot potato.

In response, a weird hush has fallen over most of the right wing blogosphere; they seem to have realized that when dozens of major advertisers bail out on Rush Limbaugh, it might not be very smart to keep trying to defend him.

But who ever accused anti-Muslim hate group leader Pamela Geller of being smart? She’s still in auto-hate mode, spitting venom at Sandra Fluke like a deranged street person.

Today, Geller triples down on her hate speech, calls Sandra Fluke a “fraud” and a “pig” and “an embarrassment to decent young women,” says she was “planted” by nefarious hidden forces (probably Obama himself), and then offers a freakishly bizarre analogy about Wal-Mart handbags vs. Hermes handbags to explain … something.

FRAUD FLUKE’S OBAMA-ENDORSED VAJ!!!!! - Atlas Shrugs

Update: I removed the photo that Atlas reader Leon Blue sent from daleygator via facebook — looks photoshopped.

I have had it up to here with Fluke’s vagina. Seriously. Clearly she’s a plant. I don’t have to exalt or honor women who debase and lower themselves to meat status. I will not honor this pig. I will not teach children to debase themselves. I will not teach children that this is “empowerment.”

I explain it to young girls this way. Go into any Wal-Mart or Target. There are hundreds of black handbags for sale in bins, hung on display walls, all cheap or moderately priced, and they can’t give them away.

Now go into Hermes. There is one black, gorgeous, impossible to get, crocodile Birkin bag. There are waiting lists for this bag. No one can get that bag. It costs a fortune and still everyone wants that bag.

Be that bag.

I despise the women’s movement. I despise what they have done to women (and men). Just look at Fluke. She is a full-fledged activist and an embarrasment to decent young women…

And worse, the President of the United States called her to congratulate her and tell her how proud he was of her. Who has done more harm to the status of American women then [sic] feminists? How they destroyed our standing, respect, and reverence we held not forty, fifty years ago.

Oh, and that photo she removed when she figured out it wasn’t actually a BOMBSHELL scoop, but a lame photoshop job? Here it is:

Pam's had Sandra's vagina?

2 HappyWarrior  Tue, Mar 6, 2012 1:15:46pm

And crazy bears her face once again. Oh and Pam take it from a guy if it wasn't for that woman's movement you so hate, you wouldn't be allowed to run your crazy blog.

3 HappyWarrior  Tue, Mar 6, 2012 1:16:22pm

If Pam has a problem, she should take it up with Rush. People testify on Capitol Hill all the time but Limbaugh is the one who decided to call her a slut.

I hope Pamela's daughters have a sane example of female adulthood to look up to, somewhere.

Excellent.

11 Sol Berdinowitz  Tue, Mar 6, 2012 1:19:55pm

I seem to recall that this started with an op-ed piece that I initially took as satire.

Then Rush picked it up and ran with it.

Now it has become a major albatross around his neck, and, by extension, around the neck of the party whose semi-official spol´kesman he has become.

People unaware of the nature of the debate and the topics know that Rush is ranting about some slut and demanding tht she post pornos and will not shut up.

12 erik_t  Tue, Mar 6, 2012 1:20:12pm

We're tired of Ms. Flukes' ladyparts too, Pam, SO QUIT FUCKING BRINGING IT UP.

13 Simply Sarah  Tue, Mar 6, 2012 1:20:22pm

I know I should expect this by now, but what the fuck is Pam talking about? I mean, it certainly seems like she's trying to say women belong on a pedestal and that our only purpose should be to be desirable to men. I suppose that's the "standing, respect, and reverence we held not forty, fifty years ago" that we feminists have destroyed.

14 Slumbering Behemoth Stinks  Tue, Mar 6, 2012 1:20:41pm

"She is a full-fledged activist and an embarrasment [sic] to decent young women…"

But enough about Pamela Geller.

15 JeffM70  Tue, Mar 6, 2012 1:21:13pm

The sign looks Photoshopped Pamela says. Even her stream-of-hatefulness can't keep her from almost grasping the obvious.

Oh, yes. Clearly. //

Actually I believe she's a plant from some Students For Reproductive Choice group at Georgetown. How come the media won't report that, huh? //

Honestly I'll never get women who hate feminists and feminism. I realize there's not always gonna be agreement but feminism is a positive force.

I'm confused about what Pam is suggesting. I'm supposed to be a really, really high priced prostitute? Then we're just arguing about price.

Oh, lots of reasons. Some women have just been so beaten down by patriarchy that they completely internalize the misogyny and believe it. Others realize the system is broken but since they have been able to work the system to gain some amount of power/control/privilege they don't want to challenge that same system for fear of losing their position.

re: #23 erik_t

When a young law student testified before Congress in support of one of President Obama's policies.

Before that, with the anti-war movement, the feminist movement, and anything the right doesn't like.

37 lawhawk  Tue, Mar 6, 2012 1:26:02pm

I've had it up to here with Pam.

Speaking of debased, how much is she getting to shill racist and xenophobic commentary at her own site and by and through SIOA and all the other spinoff anti-Muslim sites, speaking engagements and all the rest and to act like arm-candy for the likes of Robert Spencer?

Fluke is an activist because she stood up for women who want the choice to use birth control (but whose employers might otherwise want to limit because of religious objections). The solution was to have the insurers provide the service bypassing the religious objection, but the right wing is gone gonzo over this - even though it's not a new issue and had been resolved (by having the insurers provide the service instead of the employer).

She was within her rights to give testimony before Congress, and Rush called her a slut and prostitute among other things. Geller's solution? Be that Bag? Really? That's her counter to the ongoing right wing assault against rights of women to seek and obtain birth control, and the misogynistic treatment of women generally.

Oh, and I nominate "Be That Bag" as rotating a headline.

38 Bulworth  Tue, Mar 6, 2012 1:26:24pm

I don't wish anymore more harm on the woman. Really I don't. But can Ms. Fluke testify in front of Congress again? She's about driven the reichwing completely around the effin bend.

39 WINDUPBIRD DISEASE [S.K.U.M.M.]  Tue, Mar 6, 2012 1:26:26pm

It's a reality show, disguised as an anti-muslim blog, by the way, the currency of clickthroughs, every view of Atlas Shrugs is money in Pamela Geller's pocket

it's acting out for ad hits, it's stunts. It's Howard Stern, but with politics. It's the new economy!

I guess. I just find it sort of darkly humorous to hear Geller, Coulter, etc put down the women's movement when it's clear that they have benefited albeit indirectly from it.

47 Obdicut  Tue, Mar 6, 2012 1:28:55pm

Well, that's the thing. Part of where they get their current position from is thanks to the women's movement, but part of it is by selling out to attack said movement. Basically, they're saying "I've got mine." Well, Coulter is, at least. Pam may just be that clueless.

Its the Frank Drebin approach to sex: we've got a long road ahead of us. It's like having sex. It's a painstaking and arduous task that seems to go on and on forever, and just when you think things are going your way, nothing happens.

The anti gay orgs have this image of every gay person being this caricature they have in their mind of what gays and lesbians are. I think that's why the now famous photo of the Marine embracing his boyfriend has them so upset. They want so badly to believe that every gay man is a wuss and every lesbian a manly looking man hater.

The same holds true for their attitudes about women.

If a woman is an activist, she's usually tarred as a fat, hairy-legged lesbian who hates men and who wants everyone to be miserable because she can't get laid or whatever. Hell, calling a woman you disagree with a lesbian was the favorite insult for the wingnuts before Limbaugh's idiocy. Now they're calling women sluts.

The same is true of everything and everyone that is recognised as Them, not Us. Liberals, women, gays, Muslims, black people, brown people, Asians, Democrats, and so on. That's how identity politics work. And if you live in a virtual cult compound where all your information comes from a few sources, you're likely to think in identity politics. It's a circle of sorts - if you think in narrow, stereotyped terms, you tend towards identity politics anyway. This era of total information saturation and the ability to expose yourself to only the information that you already agree with just exacerbates it.

Breaking news from Barrett Brown's Mom's basement: Leaderless anarchists suddenly have leaders and structure.
Hackers Charged in Crackdown on LulzSec, Anonymous Groups

The hackers arrested are among the de facto leadership of Anonymous, the self-professed hacker-activist group, and LulzSec, or Lulz Security, an affiliated group, according to Barrett Brown, an informal Anonymous spokesman, whose apartment in Dallas was raided this morning. Monsegur continued to work with Anonymous until last week, Brown said. Monsegur's plea was only made public today.
....
"If that's true, he's an absolute traitor," said Brown. "God knows what's compromised."

Brown said Monsegur had access to confidential dealings among the top leadership of both LulzSec and Anonymous. He said it's unclear to members of the group what information Monsegur may have passed to the FBI as he continued to work on operations, including the hack of Stratfor.

"They managed to get people who are very important, the de facto leadership," Brown said. "That's something they haven't been able to do up to now."

FBI agents raided Brown's Dallas apartment at 6:30 a.m. and later showed up at his mother's house in Dallas, where he had been staying. He said some agents remained outside

I don't believe half the shit coming from BB. First it was reported that the FBI raided his "apartment". Later it was reported that the FBI raided his "home." Then he claims that he was "informed" about the FBI "raid":

Barrett Brown, who has spoken on behalf of Anonymous in past attacks, including the attack on Stratfor in December, said that his home in Dallas had been raided and that the F.B.I. had sent three agents to his mother’s house, where he stayed last night.

“I received an advance warning of the raid and put all my laptops in very specific places where they couldn’t be found,” Mr. Brown said. He said the agents left without making an arrest.

Mr. Brown said the arrests elsewhere would not slow down the Anonymous movement. “There are lots and lots of people here that continue to work. The F.B.I. did not really cut the head off of anything. Anonymous will go forward as usual. So will I. We hired an army of lawyers last January. We are prepared for a big slug-out.”

Sounds more like the FBI called him up first and informed him that they wanted to ask him some questions.

That's possible, board operators get sloppy and throw in commercials where they don't belong. However, Keep in mind that these companies are getting calls from people who don't listen to the show. They're just calling from the list of advertisers that are being circulated on the internet. There's no guarantee that these lists are accurate.

Cue the ZOMG OUTRAGE on the right:

The New Networked Feminism: Limbaugh's Spectacular Social Media Defeat

It’s the next chapter in many ways to the story that hit the public consciousness with the strong, active online reaction to the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s decision to cut funding to Planned Parenthood a month ago. The response was quick, massive, and targeted. My own social graph (on both Facebook and Twitter) lit up like a summer fireworks display after sundown – stirring conversation, concentration around hashtags and shared media, and truly crowdsourced action.

“What we’re seeing right now is a continuation of the networked response to the right-wing war on women’s health that began with the Komen reaction a few weeks ago,” said Fine. “It is across generations and extra-organizational with individual women using a variety of social media channels to connect with other women and create their own protests.”

Yet it would also be a mistake to view the semi-organized reaction to Limbaugh as purely another battle between left and right on the American political spectrum. While Limbaugh’s sexist words have to been seen in the light of a Republican Presidential race that has, inexplicably, placed an opposition to contraception and women’s health at the center of its increasingly nasty public debate, the roots of El Rushbo’s humiliation also run deeper than spectrum ideology and political parties.

I've been noticing that trend with the recent departures, the general theme being "We didn't ask to be advertising on his show, we just bought ad time in bulk!" or so forth. It's the cry of a kid, caught with his hand in the cookie jar screaming "I didn't mean to do it!"

They should only want to have sex in Hermes, not WalMart.

Sex in Hermes: The snooty size two store clerks would find you in a heartbeat, because everything is out in the open, because their stuff is all ridiculously expensive. Then they would spray you with Windex, and throw you out, like they did to Oprah. (Note, Oprah was kicked out of Hermes because they said it was after hours, not because she was having sex there.

Sex in Wal-Mart: The clerk notices you're getting it on behind a rack of White Stag polo shirts, but is not being paid enough to care, and anyway, the customer is ALWAYS right at Wal-Mart. You are allowed to finish.

As far as I know it's not illegal to put ads for a company in positions for which they have not paid. Not unless there's a contractual agreement NOT to place it with xyz.

Ad space costs money, with the rates partially depending on the show. Limbaugh, regardless of anything else, had high rates because he's got a large audience. So "technically", an ad played on Rush's show by mistake is a multi-thousand dollar error to the company's favor. Because Clear channel (or whomever) can't go back and say, "Yeah, like, we goofed and put your $100 ad in a $1000 slot, could you pay use the other $900?"

Stupid, unlikely, but not illegal.

It's called a 'pool buy.' A certain percentage of ad buys are placed in slots among a pool of programs syndicated by a broadcast group (in this case, Premier). These ads could show up on Rush's show, or Hannity's or Randi Rhodes (who is also syndicated by Premier, believe it or not) or on any other show they syndicate. The companies pay for the ads, they're just used in empty ad slots as they come up.

The only thing to stop this random ad placement is a specific request by the sponsor not to be placed on a certain show. That's what GEICO (and Netflix as well, from what I've read today) are now doing.

This of course ignores the fact that this is occurring during an ongoing controversy, where advertisers are abandoning Limbaugh in droves. By using other brands marketing creative to shore up the holes in Rush's time slot Clear Channel was using them to camouflage weakness and hide dead air. They were also forcing a connection to Limbaugh that might have been okay in a normal situation, but common sense dictates might not be welcome during a time of national scandal.

I'm not saying what they did was illegal, but your argument that the old value of the slot still holds now and that Clear Channel was somehow doing these advertisers a favor is equally weak.

And all of this would have just continued to happen "without their knowledge" if Rush wouldn't have been as big a pig as he usually is. Surreee.

People need to understand how ad sales run for broadcast outlets (radio and TV [OTA/satellite/cable]). You have network ads and local ads; network ads are usually the big, national/regional accounts, while local ads are just that.

Exercise changes your DNA

You might think that the DNA you inherited is one thing that you absolutely can't do anything about, but in one sense you'd be wrong. Researchers reporting in the March issue of Cell Metabolism, a Cell Press publication, have found that when healthy but inactive men and women exercise for a matter of minutes, it produces a rather immediate change to their DNA. Perhaps even more tantalizing, the study suggests that the caffeine in your morning coffee might also influence muscle in essentially the same way.

[...]

"Exercise is medicine," Zierath says, and it seems the means to alter our genomes for better health may be only a jog away. And for those who can't exercise, the new findings might point the way to medicines (caffeinated ones, perhaps?) with similar benefits.

Obama said he phoned Fluke, who was labeled a “slut” by Limbaugh, because he was thinking about his own daughters, and that women like his wife could make up their own minds about how to vote.
“I don’t know what’s in Rush Limbaugh’s heart, so I’m not going to comment on the sincerity of his apology,” Obama said. “What I can comment on is the fact that all decent folks can agree that the remarks that were made don’t have any place in the public discourse.”

He called Fluke, he said, “because I thought about Malia and Sasha, and one of the things I want them to do as they get older is to engage in issues they care about; even ones I may not agree with them on. ... And I don’t want them attacked or called horrible names because they’re being good citizens.

Hey, I don't know if you this story earlier:

Cyrenaica, the eastern Libyan region, announces a bid for semi-autonomy.

Now, apparently, more news I found showed that it wasn't the region itself, but from a meeting of 4,000 Tribal leaders.

Now, new info has come out:

Ahmed al-Senussi, a relative of Libya's former king Idris, was announced as the leader of the self-declared Cyrenaica Transitional Council.

Ahmad al Senussi is an illegimate pretender (there is a grandson of the last Libyan King) to the extinct Libyan Throne. Apparently, this seems to be a power grab a some tribal leaders in an attempt to recreate the old Cyrenaican Kingdom, with the illegitimate pretender at its top.

I doubt this movement's credibility.

If they made the request in the past, then I'll chalk up the ad plays on Limbaugh's show to human error. It happens.

Another aspect I didn't mention in the above comment - many of the pool ads are also used in what are called 'trade-barter' situations. These ad plays end up in shows where the show is offered by the syndication company at no cost to the outlet - and the syndication company gets the ad revenue from the 'national' ads (which are included in the pre-recorded program) and the outlet gets an equivalent number of ad slots to sell to local advertisers.

I don't know if Limbaugh is still offered on a trade-barter basis, but back when I worked for a syndicated show (a music program called 'Rock Over London,' for those who are curious) his show was offered as trade-barter for smaller markets. This was obviously before his show turned into the syndicated monster it is today.

Again though, ethically if not legally the landscape changes when one of the network's programs instantly becomes toxic and advertisers are leaving it in droves. In a way this is like Goldman Sachs selling of investments designed to fail inasmuch as whatever upside the advertisers might have seen from the ad time is heavily compromised and complicated by their having to waste time and resources distancing themselves from Limbaugh. In a normal situation what Clear Channel was doing would be morally acceptable, but during the current scandal I think as a matter of good business practice that they owed the pool advertisers a preemptive opt out clause before moving them into gaps created by the large number of advertisers fleeing the program.

Quoth the NYT

“I received an advance warning of the raid and put all my laptops in very specific places where they couldn’t be found,” Mr. Brown said.

Mr. Brown then walked away with a curiously stiff-legged gait.

Muhammad al Senussi seems to have no pretensions of getting a throne in Libya.

This Ahmad guy seems to be quite a bit thicker.

re: #189 kirkspencer

Sorry, I had to dash earlier.

I would assume the contracts have to specify the time slots, no? Or at least on what or on whose show they're advertising. Ad space is very expensive and I have a real hard time believing that Clear Channel (I believe it is them) is that haphazard about their advertisers since Matrix, Geico and one other at least (there were others mentioned on Twitter) claims they were unaware that their ads were running on his show.

It's bullshit. They're well aware. They don't want people boycotting them so they found a "loophole" to placate the consumer. At least, that's what I think.

re: #193 makeitstop

Well I should have read that first :) Thanks for clearing it up. It didn't make sense to me otherwise.

Patricia Heaton from Everybody Loves Raymond weighed in with a series of disgusting Tweets.
I wonder if she heard from management at her new show because she issued an apology.

One of the things that bothered me is that Heaton has 4 sons. What is she teaching her sons about how to treat women?
