Herman Cain’s Sadistic New Video - Update: Pulled from YouTube

WTF
Wingnuts • Views: 24,148

Herman Cain’s advertisements attacking the economic stimulus are breaking new ground in simulated sadism, as he works his way up the animal kingdom. The first one showed a child killing a goldfish; Cain’s new ad simulates firing a rabbit out of a catapult and blasting it apart with a shotgun.

Yes, really.

Herman Cain is a very sick man, and these ads are disgusting.

UPDATE at 3/26/12 9:53:00 am

Interesting — the video has been pulled from YouTube, although it does seem to be a legitimate Herman Cain advertisement. I’ve replaced it with another version from this Politico article about it: Rabbit ‘Shot’ in Strange New Herman Cain Video.

UPDATE at 3/26/12 10:07:59 am

This repellent ad was also posted on the front page of Herman Cain’s website, confirming that it’s genuine: Sick of Stimulus.

Maybe YouTube’s administrators were just appalled by it?

UPDATE at 3/26/12 12:58:16 pm

YouTube has now restored the video. Very odd.

Last I heard, Smoking Mustache was still involved in his PR output.

“Any questions?” I got a bunch of questions.

1. How much did this kid’s parents get paid to make this ad?
2. How did the kid feel while making this ad?
3. How many takes were needed?
4. How many animals died during these video shoots?

3 wrenchwench  Mon, Mar 26, 2012 9:40:07am

Even if it’s simulated, I think I’ll pass on watching that one.

4 Obdicut  Mon, Mar 26, 2012 9:40:17am

I also automatically hate the hipster dude with the shotgun.

I think this is the philosophy of the Cain PR team:

Image: It_Seemed_Like_a_Good_Idea_at_the_Time.jpg

Also, didn’t he suspend his campaign? So… what the hell?

And yes, I have questions. As a small business owner, I wonder in what way I’m like a bunny rabbit, or my business is.

I also wonder what, exactly, the guy with the shotgun is supposed to represent. Dickish hipsters?

Dickish hipsters appears to be redundant. Also, Cain’s ad is repugnant.

Wow, flashbacks of my childhood when my dad brought home a rabbit from hunting. He would have a line of lead shot from the rabbit on his plate. Can’t do that today, steel shot cracks the molars.

17 Obdicut  Mon, Mar 26, 2012 9:47:55am

Seriously, the ad doesn’t make any sense. Okay, that’s a small business. Okay, that’s the current tax code. So the current tax code is a catapult? Or is the catapult part and parcel of the guy with the shotgun?

18 Lord Baron Viscount Duke Earl Count Planckton  Mon, Mar 26, 2012 9:48:47am

Yes, got questions.

1. Why is a young girl used in the clip? She doesn’t exactly create an endearing image.

2. What’s with the Creepy Cain standing on top of an apocalyptic landscape?

3. Why has the video been removed just now as a violation of YT’s policy against spam, scams and commercially deceptive content?

OK, I think I have it. The catapult is George Washington, the rabbit is capitalism, the girl is the Virgin Mary, the shotgun is 999, the shot is the hopes and dreams of all Americans, and the guy is the area of a rectangular prism. I might be a bit off on some of those, though.

What is it with Herman Cain and his adds? Does he really think this will somehow scare people into supporting him?

YouTube doesn’t audit complaints. So if a video goes up and immediately some secret-sauce-threshold number of people click on “report abuse” away it will go, even if it’s a harmless video. The remedy is to contact them and wait a few weeks for it to be manually reviewed.

Will his next video feature:

a) pulling the wings off flies
b) dropping a bag of kittens into a river
c) staking a puppy to an anthill

It’ll be a Rube Goldberg machine. He’ll pull the wings off a fly, which will drop a puppy into a a meat grinder, which will trigger a boot kicking the sack of kittens into the river.

Rush you fucking asshole. The Duke lacrosse case was the result of Crystal Mangum outright lying to police about having been raped and Mike Nifong caring more about short term political gain than justice or the truth or the Duke students. No crime or negative act was actually committed.

Contrast with Trayvon, who we know was shot and killed by Zimmerman. That alone makes it completely different. Never mind that Trayvon was unarmed and Zimmerman was stalking him.

Familiar patterns emerge in SCOTUS health care hearings

The justices called on the lawyers for the White House and the Republicans to make the case that the Supreme Court has the requisite jurisdiction. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Samuel Alito and Anthony Kennedy were less vocal than the liberal-leaning justices. Justice Clarence Thomas, as expected, did not speak.

Commentary unnecessary.

156 Simply Sarah  Mon, Mar 26, 2012 10:48:01am

And here’s the thing about Zimmerman. We don’t know for certain what happened, what he was thinking, etc. Maybe he really was just an over-zealous dude trying, if in an incorrect manner, to protect his neighborhood. Maybe Trayvon really did attack him. Maybe Zimmerman really did shoot out of fear for his life. Maybe he does feel broken and full of regret.

It’s just that none of that matters. This should have been investigated properly from the beginning. He should have been tested for alcohol and drugs. It shouldn’t have just been “Well, he says it was self defense, so I guess it was.” If that’s really what the law requires than it should be changed. Because the way this stands right now doesn’t help anyone innocent. If Zimmerman truly should be left free, I don’t see how anything short of a proper investigation clearing him can truly do that. And it may be too late for even that now.

I’ll bet real American money that the Dan Riehl’s of the world will try to paint him in that light.

Mitch Daniels (yes, that Mitch Daniels) and his roomates were arrested in 1971 (junior year at Princeton):

Officers found enough marijuana in his room to fill two size 12 shoe boxes, reports of the incident say. He and the other inhabitants of the room were also charged with possession of LSD and prescription drugs without a prescription. Daniels and his two roommates in 111 Cuyler Hall, Marc Stuart ‘71 and Richard Stockton ‘71, were arrested and, after plea bargaining, Daniels eventually escaped with a $350 fine for “maintaining a common nuisance.”

Daniels, a Republican who served as George W. Bush’s budget director, portrays this incident as a youthful mistake for which he paid an appropriate price. “I don’t make excuses for anything,” he says. “Justice was served.”

Wasn’t the constitution written on Cannabis paper?

The first hemp laws in America were passed in 1619 and they were ‘must grow’ laws. If you were a farmer living in America and you didn’t grow hemp, you would be jailed or kicked out of the country as a non patriot. These first laws were put in place by the Colonist Government of Great Britain. In 1773 and again in 1776, ( the year the Declaration of Independence was signed). American made their own must grow laws. At that time, it was one of the most widely used plants in the world. Fact - Cannabis hemp was legal tender (money) in most of America from 1631 until the early 1800s. Thomas Jefferson risked his life bring hemp seeds to America from overseas. Benjamin Franklin, started the first paper mill in America and all of the paper was made out of hemp.

[Link: www.nnytimes.com…]

George Washington grew hemp at Mt Vernon.

(it was first made illegal in 1937 — William Randolph Hearst agitated for such laws, because he wanted to reduce competition for his extensive timber interests)
