Breitbart Editor John Nolte About HBO ‘Stage Mom:’ ‘She Should Be Murdered’

Creepy right wing violent fantasies, brought to you by Breitbart.com
Wingnuts • Views: 45,174

breitbart.com editor-in-chief John Nolte apparently got very upset about something he saw on the HBO shock comedy show Angry Boys recently: HBO Broadcasts Young Girl Sucking on Huge Plastic Penis Cup.

Nolte’s post now reads:

The Left is so far gone that we can’t even find agreement on the basis that this is unacceptable.

And whoever this little girl’s stage mom is — she should have her kids taken away from her.

But before he edited that last line, it was posted at breitbart.com as:

And whoever this little girl’s stage mom is — she should be murdered.

The reader who tipped me off about this sent along a screenshot of the cached version, before it disappeared from the Bing search engine:

Copies of the original, with “she should be murdered” intact, also survive at several other websites that apparently grabbed the article from its RSS feed:

HBO Broadcasts Young Girl Sucking on Huge Plastic Penis Cup | David Webb
HBO Broadcasts Young Girl Sucking on Huge Plastic Penis Cup - the Place for Resources on Gold. - Exchange Gold for Cash
Hbo Broadcasts Young Girl Sucking on Huge Plastic Penis Cup

As of this writing, the original version is also still visible in Bing’s cached search results. A screenshot:

When Nolte scrubbed his original insane remark that the mother of this child “should be murdered,” he also went through and deleted all comments telling him he’d gone too far.

This is not the first time John Nolte has publicly indulged in fantasies of violence, either: Breitbart Editor-in-Chief Incites Violence Against OWS Protesters.

From what I can see, Angry Boys (an Australian production) is supposed to be gross and offensive. Looks like they succeeded.

But someone who’s writing for what purports to be a news site isn’t really supposed to call for people to be “murdered.”

Another day, another example of right wing journalism.

As offensive as the image is, John Nolte's piece is 1000x more offensive, disgusting and whatever else epithets exist for vile.

It's really amazing that he would post something like that in public. Very revealing about what goes on at Breitbart.com.

How does killing the mother help the girl?

Dan Gainor of The Cultural and Media Institute

The Culture and Media Institute is a project of the Media Research Center, a conservative media watchdog organization. The institute states that its mission "is to preserve and help restore America's culture, character, traditional values, and morals against the assault of the liberal media elite, and to promote fair portrayal of social conservatives and religious believers in the media.

I guess murdering mothers that don't uphold traditional values and morals the way you want them to is the next logical step in restoring American culture.

I'm unclear how this is indicative of "The Left"(cue scary music...now)in any context unless I'm missing something. I'm a mom and a grandmom and I'm not sure how the little girl with the penis cup would be funny in any context, but maybe I suffer from being a humor challenged feminazi too.

It's all so confusing,lol.

Hey. Save those webpages using that archive you always use.

7 abolitionist  Sat, Apr 14, 2012 1:53:32pm

It could have been worse. The little girl could have been eating two bananas. Or holding hands with someone.

8 jaunte  Sat, Apr 14, 2012 1:53:35pm

I find the image of a little girl drinking from a penis-shaped cup unacceptable, and I wonder why the Breitbarts felt the need to expose it to thousands more than saw it already.

9 Lord Baron Viscount Duke Earl Count Planckton  Sat, Apr 14, 2012 1:54:39pm

Note how potentially criminal the logic here is.
The "stage mom" allows her "daughter" to drink from such a cup, so she should be murdered (and having her stage daughter taken from her).

*However* this implies that according to Nolte the real mother deserves the same fate, because she allowed her real daughter to drink from such a cup for the sake of filming this episode. Maybe Nolter did not even intend this, but it is what it is.

10 Dark_Falcon  Sat, Apr 14, 2012 1:54:45pm

That picture is utterly reprehensible, and Angry Boys ought to be boycotted until its management apologizes. The photo was vile, both those who created and filmed the scene and the girl's mother ought to be castigated for this. And I do think the mother should be investigated by Social Services, since she clearly is giving fame too high a priority.

But none of that justifies Nolte's call for her to be murdered. The man seems to have gone on some sick vigilante riff, only to pull it when he started catching flak over how insane he sounded.

11 b_sharp  Sat, Apr 14, 2012 1:55:11pm

Perhaps our culture should worry more about how something like this affects the kids than how insulted or embarrassed the adults feel?

It's simple: HBO, like the rest of 'Big Hollywood', is part of the left-wing plot to "corrupt the youth and hand America bound hand and foot to her enemies". Such at least is the mind of Breitbart.com, a site whose talent seems to have died with its namesake.

I disagree -- they're absolutely carrying on in the same style as Andrew Breitbart. They're just inept at it and keep getting caught doing sleazy things, but the level of morality and simple decency is about the same.

19 Gus  Sat, Apr 14, 2012 2:06:57pm

One can object to this however Nolte's rhetoric is way out of line. Words have meaning and power and can inspire those with weaker minds to commit violent crimes. Especially given the reactionary and extremist nature of the Breitbart audience. Nolte should be fired immediately or suspended for 30 days. Of course that will not happen and they will instead point and laugh. This is what's now acceptable "conservative" behavior.

Looking closer at the picture, IIRC there is a fertility festival in Japan this time of year with lots of genital shaped objects involved. I doubt there is anything even slightly sinister in anyone's mind about this in Japan.

Ah, bingo: [Link: en.wikipedia.org...]

I mean, anyone who went to a high church mass for the Easter vigil saw something quite similar when the pascal candle is dunked into the baptismal font.

Cultural ignorance is still ignorance.

About the same way it has affecting the MILLIONS of Asian that see this kind of thing in many fertility rituals every year. This time of year especially. Just because our 'culture' decided to represent fertility as a fucking bunny and eggs rather than a may pole (phallic symbol) with little girls dancing around it and to make everything natural 'dirty', doesn't mean everyone shares their views.

Not saying this is what is happening here, but outside the our borders many people don't freak about nudity and fertility. YMMV

All I see is a pack of adults whining about how viewing something like this offends their moral sensibilities, or forces them to feel embarrassed. I see nothing demonstrating concern for the kids as a priority. Frankly, this will harm the kid in no way, unless the adults around her make sure she feels traumatized. In cultures where fertility rites are practised from day one, the kids grow up normal.

Here's what I think may be the explanation for the scene, from the Wikipedia article on the characters in the show:

Jen Okazaki is a softly spoken Japanese wife and mother of three, who moved with her family from Japan to Santa Barbara, California in the United States for a better life. She focuses mainly on her son Tim Okazaki to become a skateboarding champion. She decides that Tim's career can be better promoted from Tokyo, so she moves with the family back to Japan. Jen markets him not only as a cute Japanese boy, but also as a homosexual. She owns a successful empire shaped around Tim's skateboarding success called, "GayStyle Enterprises", in which she sells penis-shaped whistles, perfume dispensers, water bottles, and scrubbing brushes.

My daughter auditioned and was selected for a part in a movie called "Another Happy Day" with Ellen Barkin and Demi Moore. The movie featured some really disturbing themes about drug abuse, domestic violence, self mutilation, and copious amounts of profanity in the script. When the movie came out we told Grandma and Grandpa not to even watch it because we knew they would have freaked out.

I do think that water bottle was way over the top, but there is a very good chance the girl's parents had no idea about that detail when she auditioned for the part.

It's a cup, not a penis. It's a simple symbol.

I doubt this kid is going to go around asking to perform fellatio on every male she sees.

If this drives you start raving mad, with urges to punish the mother in some way, perhaps you should take a real deep look at what is bothering you.

But penis humor is a major premise of “Angry Boys.” Out Magazine reported that the show features a Japanese mother exploiting her teenage son “to create a merchandising empire of cock shaped products.” In one episode, according to Out Magazine, the mother (played by a male, the creator and director of the show, Chris Lilley) unscrewed a pink plastic penis and shook it over parmesan cheese.

I'm not sure the props are exactly Japanese. I've seen those water bottles, or a very close relative, on sale at Pride, and offered as guest gifts for bridal showers.

Just because the characters are Japanese, and Shinto uses some phallic imagery in ritual doesn't necessarily mean those two facts intersect.

Lilley, too, is riotously priapic. Phil Olivetti in We Can Be Heroes leers about his hefty endowment, and Jonah in Summer Heights High draws bulbous penises all over the school buildings. Angry Boys, which exposes the strutting imposture of masculinity, is even more obscene.

Or is it? Once again, Lilley delights in creating discomfort, with qualms about inadequacy undercutting the fertile riot we expect. Dan Sims brands a mongrel dog a “fag” because its hindquarters wiggle as it shows off its testicles; he chastens Nath’s frantic wanking, and tries to dent his brother’s erection by hurling a shoe at it. One of Lilley’s new creations, a Los Angeles rapper called S.mouse, brags about his “motherfucking dick” and his “big black balls”, though it is all loud, empty braggadocio, as his discontented girlfriend hints.

Back home, a beach bum called Blake Oakfield – played by Lilley as a sad pseudo-Californian wannabe, a surfer, who, like Mishima’s sailor, has fallen from grace with the sea – is actually a gelding. His balls were amputated after he was shot in the groin during a pub brawl, and he claims to be investigating the possibility of acquiring a decorative prosthetic pair to plump out his Speedos; meanwhile, he needs daily testosterone supplements and relies on a sperm donor to beget his kids. He seems to be wishing his own emasculation on others, since he initiates new members of his surfie gang by tying chunks of bleeding meat to their genitals and sending them out beyond the breakers to attract sharks.

The most fiendishly penis-fixated of Lilley’s personae is a woman: this is the ambitious Japanese matriarch Jen Okazaki, who forces her teenage son Tim to pretend he is gay to boost his career as a skateboarding champion. “We know you love cock,” she tells the wilting lad, coaxing him to ogle the pendulous nuts of a pin-up in a porn mag. Jen is a castration complex in human form. For her, the male organ is a merchandising opportunity and, to exploit her son’s popularity, she manufactures a line of fleshly pink fetishes for a gay clientele – a cock-shaped whistle that enjoys being blown, a penile drinking bottle that enables you to rehearse fellatio while hydrating, a disciplinary scrubbing brush with a bristly phallic knob, a dildo that somehow doubles as a dispenser for grated cheese. Unlike Sir Les Patterson’s frisky trouser snake, the members Jen sells have all been chopped off the body and rendered harmless, feminised by the anaphrodisiac household tasks they perform.

More than likely you are correct. Just wanted to point out that this is commonplace in many Asian cultures (from India on through). When I saw the pictures of the girl my first thought was an Asian spring fertility celebration.

From what I can see, Angry Boys is supposed to be gross and offensive. Looks like they succeeded.

But someone who's writing for what purports to be a news site isn't really supposed to call for people to be "murdered."

I'll agree with that.

72 Gus  Sat, Apr 14, 2012 2:36:00pm

I think it's perfectly normal to criticize this and almost guaranteed to get a reaction. I certainly would never watch anything like this either. However, the calling for someone to be "murdered" by John Nolte at Breitbart is a far greater moral sin. The least of which being way out of line.

73 The Ghost of a Flea  Sat, Apr 14, 2012 2:37:30pm

What I'm confused about is that the writers/makers of Angry Boys immediately become "The Left" particularly since the people involved in the making of the show are Australian.

And it seems to me like a giant part of hyping this as "outrage" is taking a frame and de-contextualizing it. Having not seen the show this is pulled from, how does one know what led up to that still and how would it change the meaning of the image.

Also, the Penis = Only Sex assumption the outrage is derived from is basically a projection by the Breitlings. Lots of cultures find dicks funny--particularly the entire image of the disembodied penis--and dick humor is just pushing-social-norms ridiculousness...bawdiness.

Did you have any worries about how American audiences would react to blackface? It’s kind of a huge deal here.
Yeah, and it's actually a big deal in Australia as well. The idea is that I play multiple characters. That's what I've always done. Part of what I like to do is to push the boundaries and try new things. When I came up with the idea of the boys' heroes on the wall, I thought, Well, they're going to be into hip-hop. They're going to want a rapper to come to their party, so I have to play a black guy. And I just thought, It's going to provoke people, it's going to be headlined — and certainly everyone in Australia fell into that trap. It was all over the place, like, "Blackface! He's doing it!" Like, Australians definitely don't walk around dressed up in blackface going "Ha-ha." We're exposed to American culture and stuff, so we get it. I think I wanted to do it because I thought it was a challenging, new, interesting idea, and mostly I just thought it was a really funny character. I think once you get through 30 seconds of S'Mouse you realize there's more to the character than just a blackface joke. Like, obviously that's not the joke. You see that he's this vulnerable guy who's living at home with his dad and he gets exposed by the documentary for not being the big tough guy he's making himself out to be. There's a lot more going on. It's a character. The funny thing is, I played a Chinese student in We Can Be Heroes, I played a Tongan boy in Summer Heights High, and I play a Japanese woman also in Angry Boys, but the only one that people talk about is S'Mouse. It's kind of funny that there's only certain races that it's an issue — yes, it's that history with blackface — but, I don't know. There's no comparison. I think it's a bit stupid that you would shut yourself off to being able to do that.

This story reminds me of one from the other day about Foster Friess' comment regarding Obama's teleprompter..

Foster Friess--the billionaire backer of former Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum--said he hopes President Obama's "teleprompters are bulletproof."

"There are a lot of things that haven't been hammered at because Rick and Mitt have been going at each other," the retired mutual fund manager said before he made his comment directed at the president. He later told ABC News that he regretted his words immediately after he said them.

Hoping for violence was the instinct. Common sense kicked in too late.

Just because something is legal--I'm not sure whether this scene is or should be--doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Artist creates Zimmerman portrait with Skittles

A Denver artist has created a portrait of Florida shooting suspect George Zimmerman using more than 12,000 Skittles — the candy that 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was carrying when Zimmerman fatally shot him.

The 3-by-4-foot portrait was done by 31-year-old Andy Bell, an art student about to graduate from Metropolitan State College in Denver.
Bell titled it "Fear Itself." He tells The Denver Post he's not judging Zimmerman but commenting on the divided opinions about the case.

He says, "It's a symbol of what happens when you let fear rule your life."
The candies are glued to plywood and varnished. The portrait is hanging at RedLine Gallery in Denver.

Zimmerman has said he shot in self-defense. He's charged with second-degree murder.

People who abuse kids by publishing pictures and videos of them in poses designed to elicit sexual responses or worse, have sex with kids should be thrown in a padded cell for the rest of their lives. Law enforcement agencies should put piles of money and manpower towards finding and prosecuting these turds.

People who feel they 'own' their kids and use them for their own stupid purposes should suffer ostracization and their views should be denormalized.

And what a vile stuff that South Park is! I would never have guessed:

[Link: www.capalert.com...]

Satan is portrayed as the homosexual lover of Saddam Hussein and is portrayed as a sensitive, loving and caring being though the One who cast him into Hell clearly tells the Truth about him: that Satan's only interests are to steal, kill and destroy [John 10:10]. Hussein waves his disembodied male member around. And it was not a cardboard drawing like most other images of the movie -- it was of photographic resolution. The most foul of the foul words was clearly spoken by the children at least 131 times and many other times in a muffled or garbled way as well as in rapid uncountable succession in song [Col. 3:8]. The three/four letter word vocabulary was used at least 119 times, also mostly by children. God's name in vain was used 11 times without the four letter expletive and 6 times with it [Deut 5:11]. And many times the child characters were saying things like "What's the big deal" (about the foul language). "Suck my --", "Let's ([homo]sexual intercourse)", and repeated questions about a female private organ were but a very few of the vulgar expressions used by the kids.

Angels were portrayed as females - nude, very nude. God was called many vulgar and hateful names. Satan was glorified. Jesus was equated with sexual anatomy. A child was graphically incinerated by igniting his flatulence, then another kid tried to beat out the flames with a stick concerned about the stick catching fire. Body parts dripping with blood were ripped from a child by a surgeon who expressed flippant, shallow concern. The dead child was then seen with an exploded chest. The dead child, after being rejected from Heaven (by nude female angels) and cast into Hell (which is a violation of Scripture in and of itself), was then presented as a ghost trying to influence the other kids. An all-male chorus line wore pink bikini briefs. Homosexual acts were described. Decomposing burned bodies were cast as live occupants of Hell. "Big brother" electronic shock control of a child was used to prevent his use of foul language (each time he cussed he was shocked -- he used this shock later to defeat Hussein by shouting every known and several unknown foul words). A man committed suicide by jumping out of a window. And throughout the movie was script to promote licentious belittlement of wholesome life and entertainment: rationale to lessen even further the threshold of acceptance. [Rom. 16:17 - 18]

These are but a very few of the examples of ignominy in this sinematic cyanide. And the kids in the audience loved it, almost as much as the adults with them. Many of the children seemed to be laughing because their fathers expected them to laugh, looking up at their fathers, laughing nervously and loudly just so dad would know they were laughing along with him, not likely knowing at what it was they were laughing half the time. As long as dad was laughing. That was reason enough. May God have mercy on us. [Luke 17:2]

That is all I will say about the content this extraordinarily vulgar, vile, and repugnant movie. Other examples are just too vulgar and vile to even try to describe without being as vulgar and vile.

Only some mutant perverts could watch that stuff! /

Did not know...I don't travel to the fever swamps very often. I generally encounter the milder forms of wingnuttery that turn up in phonecalls to NPR's On Point.

I don't venture into the fever swamps often myself, I just frequent places where the denizens of the swamps like to dredge up some of the craziest shit and post it to "wake us up." What's scaring me more than anything is that the wingnuts I run into are starting to nod along.

The continuation of that is that Holder not arresting them for their bounty on George Zimmerman shows that the and Obama are biased.

As much as I disagree with them putting a bounty on Zimmerman, it was a stupid move, I don't remember the bring him in dead or alive part. From what I remember wasn't the bounty for information about his location?

I actually don't know what the phrasing of the NBP's bounty was.

Other folks seem to have assumed that there was some kind of "harm" component, because it's been part of the general refrain of "George Zimmerman is in hiding and a victim because people put out a bounty on him." Which is, I guess, what I've been picking up on.

The original bounty was for the capture of Zimmerman. Dead or Alive was not mentioned.
The NBP did put a crosshair target over Zimmerman's picture on their home page. I find myself simultaneously abhorring that as I did Palin's crosshairs, and wondering if the right-siders who saw it would use the Palin excuses. As it turned out I never saw anyone make a comment either way.

Is this another case of Fox airing a fake piece of media? I found a vid of a NBPP spokesperson saying she wants him dead or alive but she wasn't speaking as a spokesperson at that moment according to her.

It sounds to me that the NBPP is a violent organization not in the image of the original Black Panthers, and has been classed as a hate group but if Fox News put out a fake document as true, they need to be slapped.

This is what I remember:

"Another controversy occurred in 2012 after the NBPP offered a $10,000 bounty for the "legal citizen's arrest" of George Zimmerman, the alleged perpetrator of the shooting of Trayvon Martin. The group also stated that it believed in "a life for a life". The bounty offer was condemned and repudiated by Martin's family and others, including the Rev. Jesse Jackson."

The emphasis is mine.

The people slamming Jackson should note that he condemned the bounty.

Here's the story I want to know more about:

[Link: news.talkingpointsmemo.com...]

"The Secret Service was embroiled in a new row Saturday after it was revealed that about 12 agents protecting US President Barack Obama in Colombia were sent home amid rumors of a sex scandal.

Just hours after Obama arrived late Friday in Cartagena, under lockdown for the Summit of the Americas meeting with heads of state from across the region, the scandal erupted.

"There have been allegations of misconduct made against Secret Service personnel in Cartagena, Colombia prior to the president's trip," Secret Service special agent in charge Edwin Donovan said in a statement Friday.

"Because of this, those personnel are being relieved of their assignments, returned to their place of duty, and are being replaced by other Secret Service personnel."

I worry for this President, a lot. All the time. The only thing that keeps that worry at a manageable level is that I've generally always had trust that the Secret Service are very good at their jobs. Should I fear that... maybe they're really not? Or maybe they're not trying their best?

Here's the story I want to know more about:

[Link: news.talkingpointsmemo.com...]

I worry for this President, a lot. All the time. The only thing that keeps that worry at a manageable level is that I've generally always had trust that the Secret Service are very good at their jobs. Should I fear that... maybe they're really not? Or maybe they're not trying their best?

Maybe they (the secret service men) used to be on David Vitters and Eliot Spitzers details and just thought ,,, what the hell!!!

Basic rule of thumb for food mold: The softer/wetter it is, the more likelihood that even a small spot of mold indicates a much deeper internal spread, which may not be visible to the naked eye.

I noticed a strange fact when I started baking my own bread a few years ago. Real bread (when stored properly) doesn't mold. It dries out in a few days and requires toasting to revive it. After that you can make croutons. The preservatives in store bought bread make it last longer which allows it to eventually mold.

Yeah, I recently stated making my own too—found a "no knead" recipe that I really like. Now it creeps me out that store bought bread lasts so long without going moldy. It's unnatural, big time.

re: #307 Obdicut

Yes, it does.

Yeah, it does. I think it just seems like it doesn't because 1.) it tastes better so we eat it faster it, and/or 2.) it dries out faster, so it either gets thrown out or turned into croutons or whatever before it has a chance to mold.

The no knead bread I mentioned. Nom!

That looks like bannock.

317 CuriousLurker  Sat, Apr 14, 2012 8:23:29pm

Looked up bannock, sounds great!

The no-knead bread is different though. It's a traditional yeast + flour mixture, but the resulting dough is very loose, almost soupy. It's left out in a covered bowl for 12-24 hours, turned onto a floured surface & folded over a couple of times, slapped into a heated covered cast iron pot, then baked in a hot oven.

It's very rustic--thick crunchy crust and the inside has "tooth", i.e. it's chewy not mushy like the store bought white bread. One of these days I'm going to get some sourdough starter and try adding it. I tried making my own...major #FAIL.
