Ted Nugent: ‘If Obama Becomes President, I’ll Either Be Dead or in Jail’

“We need to chop their heads off in November”
Wingnuts • Views: 38,460

Here’s good ol’ Ted Nugent (a frequent guest on the vile white supremacist radio show Political Cesspool, which also regularly features David Duke), spewing deranged hatred at President Obama and pledging, “If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”

‘If Obama Becomes President, I’ll Either Be Dead or in Jail’

Challenge accepted!

as a side note: Why doesn't the Nuge have a gig as the celebrity spokeman for Depends?

Yeah, I'll believe it just as soon as all those celebs who said they'd leave the country if Bush was reelected pack their bags and GTFO.

7 Kragar  Mon, Apr 16, 2012 11:10:27am

So Obama becomes President and the Nuge ends up behind bars or shuffles off to join the choir invisible...

the downside being?

He should be behind bars for crimes against the guitar anyway.

If Nuge hasn't already been carted off to prison, why does he think that he'll be carted off if Obama is reelected? Obama will have carte blanche to eliminate his political enemies (though who knows if Obama even considers Nuge to be anything more than a musical nuisance, if even that).?

It's like it says in Revelation: upon winning a second term, the Obama Beast gains the ability to pass any kind of laws and no one can do anything about it. It is written that he not only takes away guns, but puts every christian in FEMA camps and replaces Congress with a council of muslim extremists. The book does clearly indicate that there will be a glorious uprising in God's name, led by a mysterious figure known only as "The Nuge." Unfortunately, there's no indication as to whether this man ends up dead or in prison.

Charles, if I may, I want to propose an idea of how to stop bumping off of the pages from the "Recent" list without limiting the no. of posts.

After all, we're not concerned with how many pages people actually post, but only with prolific posters not bumping off more rare posters off the list too quickly. But then the only thing that needs to be limited is the number of slots in the "Recent" list per user. 1, maybe 2 max.

I.e. if user A posts 15 pages and the limit is 2, his last two posted articles will be on the top of the list, until another poster comes along and posts his or her n pages, which then will be on top, but taking no more than 2 slots.

This will not discourage participation both by prolific and rare posters. What do you think?

Hugging and Kissing Banned From Egyptian Public TV

A group of Islamic supervisors of the Egyptian Public Broadcaster will be in charge of removing 'immoral ' footage from films the network has in its archives. The ban will apply to scenes featuring hugging, kissing and belly dancing. As reported by the daily Kuwait al-Anba, which quotes sources from inside the Network, such a decision could bring about either the removal of important scenes from movies that are an integral part of Egypt's cinema or their complete ban from any TV programming. Such movies have been aired several times in the past already. The daily believes that the setting up of a supervising authority on cinema and TV content is a clear indication of the ground which the Islamic parties have been gaining in post- Mubarak Egypt. According to the daily's sources, censorship will be applied to the last 50 years of filmmaking.

Nah, just have two parents in the military. Government spending is always one of two things: "underfunded" and "wasted." Most often it ends up the latter because if you only spend what you needed that year, the government bean-counters assume you don't really need the rest of the money and cut it, meaning you don't have it when you really do need it.

I'm an atheist and my appreciation for Dawkins is somewhat limited. He routinely refers to raising religious children as child abuse. I understand his basic concept but his wording is unnecessarily inflammatory. If he really doesn't intend it to be treated as literal child abuse he probably shouldn't use the term.

An Egyptian court has ordered the government to ban pornographic Internet websites in order to protect society and its values.

The decision and a similar initiative in parliament has fed into fears by liberal and secular Egyptians that their country is moving down the path to fundamentalist Islam, following a sweeping victory by Islamists in parliamentary elections.

Things have changed since the Islamists won big in the elections. It's something to keep an eye on and Egypt's liberals and secularists are the most concerned. It's not a wingnut conspiracy.

Last Friday, Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) challenged his Democratic opponent — Iraq war veteran Tammy Duckworth — to a debate. Walsh posted an announcement on his campaign website which stated that the congressman would be hosting a town hall on Sunday, and that he “has invited his opponent Tammy Duckworth to join him because he believes the voters deserve to have the ability to directly compare their competing views on the issues.”

Unfortunately, she was unable to attend. Why? Because Duckworth, who serves in the Army National Guard, was on duty this past weekend. As VoteVets told ThinkProgress, under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Duckworth was legally prohibited from appearing at any campaign events while on duty.

That's too bad because here's a Lebanese paper reporting the same story: 60’s too sexy for modern Egypt

Not content to stamp out current examples of the “moral deviancy” that they claim is ruining their country, Egyptian authorities have begun doing retroactive censorship. Religious and political figures have started going through the archives of the Masapero Library – which houses Egyptian movies from the 50’s and 60’s – in order to get rid of the scenes where people are seen “kissing and dancing,” according to this article.

Some of the country’s greatest cultural gifts to the Arab world are on the cutting block, including films featuring famous belly dancers Najwa Fouad, Tahia Carioca, and Samia Gamal as well as movies starring Farid al-Atrash, Sabah and the iconic Abdul Halim Hafez.

The effort to de-fun Egypt’s heritage is being led by the ironically-named Freedom and Justice and Al-Nour Parties.

Now, it came as no surprise when they decided to ban internet porn last week, but this is a new and unsettling low. If mild stuff from the 60’s is being deemed offensive, imagine what’s next.

Here's the arabic source article
[Link: www.almadapaper.net...]

It's narrowly true for one way of looking at it, but misses the main point: Without those funds, PP would have to close a lot of clinics. It'd certainly hurt PP and make them smaller. Whether it'd be enough to critically doom them-- maybe, maybe not.

As we're seeing in Texas, the plan is to yank the funding sources one by one. Once the federal funds go, it's easier to go after the state and then local funds.

In the context of a campaign for a federal official, any non-federal funding seems entirely irrelevant. If Romney wishes to have no federal dollars go to Planned Parenthood, in every meaningful sense he wishes to defund Planned Parenthood.

Try something more recent. Egypt Porn Ban: Court Orders Censorship Of Pornographic Websites

Things have changed since the Islamists won big in the elections. It's something to keep an eye on and Egypt's liberals and secularists are the most concerned. It's not a wingnut conspiracy.

Perhaps Egypt's liberals & secularists would be better off making strong, organized moves towards addressing things such as corruption & bribery, poverty, women's rights, etc. instead of worrying about censorship of internet pornography. Part of what made the MB popular to begin with was their provision of social services.

That's too bad because here's a Lebanese paper reporting the same story: 60’s too sexy for modern Egypt

Here's the arabic source article
[Link: www.almadapaper.net...]

It might be true, it might not. Let's see what happens.

Even if it is true, they are not the first. I am a classic move buff and I love the pre code movies from the late 20s and early thirtys. But some didnt like those movies very much.

...between the introduction of sound in the late 1920s[1] and the enforcement of the Motion Picture Production Code (usually labeled, albeit inaccurately after 1934, as the "Hays Code") censorship guidelines. Although the Code was adopted in 1930, oversight was poor and it did not become rigorously enforced until July 1, 1934. Before that date, movie content was restricted more by local laws, negotiations between the Studio Relations Committee (SRC) and the major studios, and popular opinion than strict adherence to the Hays Code, which was often ignored by Hollywood filmmakers.

As a result, films in the late 1920s and early 1930s included sexual innuendo, miscegenation, illegal drug use, infidelity, abortion, intense violence and homosexuality. Strong women dominated films such as Female, Baby Face, and Red-Headed Woman. Gangsters in films like The Public Enemy, Little Caesar, and Scarface were more heroic than evil. Along with featuring stronger female characters, films examined female subject matters that were not revisited until much later in Hollywood history...

...Beginning in late 1933, and escalating throughout the first half of 1934, American Roman Catholics launched a campaign against what they deemed the immorality of American cinema. This, plus a potential government takeover of film censorship and social research seeming to indicate that so-called "bad" movies could promote bad behavior, was enough pressure to force the studios to capitulate to greater oversight.

Oh, I so want to point out Mormon Theology on this.

I admit I get tweaked about Mormonism for one reason. Their view on women. Essentially, a woman can only get to the highest levels of heaven if they are married. To me, that says that they think women are somehow worth less than men. With all of my friends actually being women, this pisses me off to no end.

Are there issues right now is Islam regarding women? Yes. However, at the core, the religion realizes women are humans too. Mormonism has a distinct issue with this. Along other things.

Well, then I suggest that the liberals and secularists get their shit together posthaste and demonstrate that they can do something useful beyond organizing protests. Egypt is a poor country and basic necessities are often in short supply. If I have children who are hungry and need an education, I'm going to turn to the people who can provide that. If I am sick or my husband is hurt, we're going to turn to people who can provide us with free medical care so we can continue working and trying to scrape by. Ditto for clean water, electricity, etc.

Here is not there, they are not us...they have their own set of very serious problems and I'm sure internet censorship is pretty low on their list of Important Things to Worry About. They're going to try to survive and take care of their families as best they can given their current circumstances. I know would do the same, and I'll bet you and everyone else here would also.

Exclusive: Romney Sells Inauguration Access, Nine Months Early

The offer, in a fundraising email circulated by a top Georgia supporter to fellow Republicans and obtained by BuzzFeed, is one of several goodies offered to those who contribute more than $50,000 to the joint fundraising committee known as "Romney Victory," a program whose outlines were first reported by POLITICO.

Those donors will be named "Founding Members" of Romney Victory and invited to a California retreat with Romney and offered "yet to be determined access at the Republican National Convention in Tampa in August."

They will also "have preferred status at the first Presidential Inaugural retreat," the email says.

The copy of the email obtained by BuzzFeed was forwarded by Richard Stormont, a former executive at the Marriott hotel chain, on whose board Romney sat.

Sen. Tim Owens, R-Overland Park, recently said his inbox also was full of anti-Sharia emails, most of them from out-of-state.

Keep the economy in poor condition/or make sure wealth mostly goes to the top. Then have Social Services groups by the party keep the poor at just the bare minimum for survival, gaining their votes. While at the same time riling these people up against "enemies," like the Copts.

No surprise here:

In his new book, Heaven on Earth, Kadri turns his sights east, to centuries of Shariah law. The first parts of his book describe how early Islamic scholars codified — and then modified — the code that would govern how people lead their daily lives. Kadri then turns to the modern day, reflecting on the lawmakers who are trying to prohibit Shariah law in a dozen states, as well as his encounters with scholars and imams in India, Pakistan, Syria, Egypt, Turkey and Iran — the very people who strictly interpret the religious and moral code of Islam today. And some of those modern interpretations, he says, are much more rigid — and much more draconian — than the code set forth during the early years of Islamic law.

Still amazed at how un-cynical you are compared to me. Or maybe I am misreading it.

When I get angry, it tends to be hard to force me out of it. Usually, a person just needs to let me run myself down by just letting me attack the thing I am pissy at until I get tired of doing so,

If 17 years driving a taxi didn't make me cynical, nothing will. For me cynicism is death, darkness, the absence of hope. That's not a place I choose to live, though I do visit occasionally.

Anger is only useful if you can control & direct it effectively.

Anger is often a default, socially acceptable (for some reason) response. Or a cover for a non-socially acceptable emotion--fear or frustration. Someone told me once that when men are frustrated, they get angry. So instead of responding to their anger, it is better to try to ask them why they are frustrated and engage a different part of the brain to communicate effectively.

One thing I didn't think of regarding the anti-sharia laws many states (10?) have passed. I always against them because I thought they were unnecessary because of the Establishment Clause. He said they coud prevent someone's Last Will and Testament wishes about how their remains are treated. A judge would be prevented from carrying out a persons wishes regarding their funeral etc. That would wrong in anyone's eyes, I would hope.

So they are not only unnecessary, but possibly unconstitutional

Also, bird shot would lose a lot of it's power to harm over a short distance, so you don't have to worry as much about backstops or what happens if the bullet goes through the bird. Ergo less likely that anybody around (that can't be seen, even) gets a severe wound, and you're less likely to wound yourself in a life-threatening way.

When you draw a bead on something, you need to think about the ramifications of missing, where's the bullet's going if it passes through the target, and whether there's anything that could get between the muzzle and the target (because you're trying to hit a moving target, or there are other people/things moving that could cross into your aim).

Yes. Ted Nugent is a harmless celebrity just like Alec Baldwin, ie., who have more opinions than smarts. I wish no harm on those creative persons who have no appreciable influence on the general public.

Come on, people, it was a joke...as is virtually every question that begins, "Is it wrong for me to..."

Furthermore, virtually all Nugent's comments on politics involve death to
politicians: Hillary "is a bitch who can take a ride on my machine gun." Obama "is a piece of shit who can suck on my machine gun." Etc, etc. He goes way beyond a dumb liberal or conservative who just criticizes the other side.

Nugent's insane, vile, dangerous--and his festishitic love of guns is pathological. His comments on being dead or in jail should be of concern to anyone who recognize these facts.

Republicans say that plan would spur job creation, while Democrats call it a giveaway to business because firms would not have to hire employees to receive the reduction.

Technically, they're still using rhetoric, but it's demagogy.

The spooky part is the ontology behind the rhetoric: it's like post-modernism plus tribalism. Reality is formed by their consensus as a group, and therefore the formal elements that give rhetoric weight--ethos, logos, pathos--are all skewed in fun-house mirror fashion.

Sad people, happy people, funny people, angry people, stupid people, kind people, rude people, drunk people, drugged out people (dangerous), scary people, people who want to do you harm, people cheating on their spouses, people checking up on spouses they suspect of cheating, ex-cons just coming out of prison, military people, foreign people.

It's a pretty fun job, actually.

This is a guy who did this:

In a July 15, 1990, Detroit Free Press interview, Nugent crowed about how he managed to dodge the draft. He claims that 30 days before his draft board physical, he disavowed personal hygiene. The last ten days he ingested nothing but junk food and Pepsi, and with a week to go until the physical, he stopped using the bathroom altogether. When the big day came, he had been living in excrement-caked and urine-stained pants. Always the hero, however, Nugent reassured the Free Press, “But if I would have gone over there, I’d have been killed, or I’d have killed all the Hippies in the foxholes. I would have killed everybody.

to avoid the draft. He is scum.

Let's compare this scumbag to JFK (Yes, its from Cracked, but it get the point home):

Plagued with a bad back his entire life, Kennedy was disqualified from service in the army. Instead of using this as an excuse to pursue the decidedly more sane strategy of staying the fuck away from explody things, Kennedy had his dad pull a few strings so he could sneak his way into the navy, where he eventually became a lieutenant. Just to get some perspective, Bill Clinton dodged the draft, Grover Cleveland paid someone else to go in his place when he was drafted, but Kennedy beat the system by forcing his way into the navy. Once there he handled himself like a gravel eating shit-miner, instead of the rich Boston pretty boy he actually was.

Yeah, except a man can only get to the highest levels of heaven only if he is married too. Duh.

With this disposed of, let's look at the traditional religions' treatment of women, starting with prohibition for them being clerics, and continuing with all sorts of rules that are designed to make them a lower class of human beings in earthly life.

Argentina has nationalised YPF, the former and once again state oil company, as a matter of “public interest”, Argentine and Spanish media are reporting.

Reports say the Republic of Argentina will take a 26 per cent stake held by the Eskenazi family and a 24 per cent stake out of the 57 per cent of YPF held by Respol of Spain. The Spanish government warned Argentina last week that any action against Spanish companies would be taken as an action against Spain and would have “consequences”.

Actually my wife hates reality TV, prefers action movies over chick flicks and football over figure skating. Weird I know, but I never have to watch crap when I do watch.

Bigger and better. Is there a nom de plume he could actually be portraying? Anyone who was in advertising who made it as science fic writer?

Frederik Pohl worked as a copywriter at a NY ad agency in the mid-40's.

He has one of the world's shortest unpronounceable last names.

Hmmm, he was a commie too. Ken was first to smoke the joint at Don's party. Does it fit?

Oh, the little thing in Colombia may be a bit bigger than originally thought:

The U.S. military's top officer Martin Dempsey speaks of being "embarrassed" and tells a Pentagon news conference "we let the boss down" in relation to allegations that secret service agents habitually associated with prostitutes in Colombia. Pentagon spokesman George E. Little tells reporters that the number of military staff involved could be more than the five originally reported.

Military personnel utilizing prostitutes, why I never. When did this prostitution visiting by military personnel get started? I am no military historian but I think it has been going on FOREVER, as in since the world has had professions (as in prostitution being the oldest). Sure the guy(s) shouldn't have acted out and caused an uproar, but come on. If it was their down time then they spent it the way they saw fit. If they would have been doing it when they were suppose to be on duty that would be another story. From the info I have so far they just got caught because the working girls stayed past the hotels strict "save face with the catholics" rule (the reason I see for that rule, you can do it but don't be seen).

When the Secret Service is in a foreign country, doing advance work for a Presidential visit to a multi-national summit -- there's no such thing as "down time".

And how do we know for sure who the whores were really working for? Maybe they took pictures, maybe they were hoping to get extortion material on someone who'd have sensitive information.

It's not really about the soldiers, and if they had not been part of an advance team for the president the military would indeed have likely looked the other way. But they were part of the president's advance team, and letting a prostitute into the same rooms they use to process intel puts the president at risk, as intelligence services and criminal gangs have often used prostitutes as spies or bug planters.

Exactly. It's not a moral fail. It's a professional fail.

If I were the Obama camp I would be more concerned if Ted Nugent was on MY side.

Sounds like a veiled threat to attack the POTUS -- if Obama wins, Teddy will go after him ... unsuccessfully ... and end up either dead or in jail as a result.
