Tech Note: Easy SoundCloud Embedding in LGF Comments

Because music hath charms
LGF • Views: 30,727

A new feature today: you can very easily embed audio tracks and playlists from the cool SoundCloud website (including a lot of music by well-known artists) in LGF comments or LGF Pages.

This feature works the same way as embedding videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Comedy Central, or The Onion.

To embed SoundCloud tracks in LGF comments, go to the page for the individual song file or playlist, copy the URL from your browser’s address line, and paste it into your comment on a separate line.

To embed SoundCloud tracks in LGF Pages, all you have to do is go to the page for the individual song file or playlist and open the LGF Pages bookmarklet. The code to embed the track/playlist will be automatically placed in the Pages editing box; no need to copy and paste the URL.

Here’s what it looks (and sounds) like; a playlist with two tracks from Regina Spektor’s upcoming new album:

You are correct. That is an awful looking tie.

Never heard of Todd Kincannon before. Looks like all he does is spew venom on Twitter all day, every day.

Gonna be a lot of that today. Of course, those posting it will neglect to mention that for every parody Charles has fallen for, they've fallen for three. They also won't mention that on the rare occasions that Charles gets the story wrong he has both the guts and grace to retract it promptly and with equivocation. They won't speak of any of those facts, preferring to wallow in insults and cheap laughs.

Who is he?

Am I missing something or is there no volume control for the SoundCloud embeds?

re: #11 blueraven

I missed that. I would like to know if the sound can be adjusted.

Yeah, looks like the embedded player doesn't have a volume control. Hadn't noticed that.

There are a lot of shitty gov't jobs that welfare recipients could do. Hell, let them dig holes all day.

I recently had to dig several holes out in my backyard to repair some pipes. It is hot, hard, labor intensive work.

While I was happy to do it and save the expense of having to call a plumber, I would have been insulted if someone had expected to do said work for below minimum wage.

Even people on welfare deserve some minimum quality of life. They shouldn't have to do backbreaking physical work for pennies simply so they can have the "enjoyment" of being employed.

Speaking of tools...

Came up with some great stuff for my newest page:

[Link: littlegreenfootballs.com...]

I'm not going to lie, I was shooting for a front page promotion on this one but I know that decision lies solely with Charles and I won't be disappointed whatever happens.

Just the opportunity to post something like that on this site period is awesome.

Long live LGF!

Funny, that's been tried before, Todd...like during the Irish Potato Famine over 160 years ago.

Ignorant dipshit...

I am not surprised at any of those questions. It is constant idea associated with the GOP. I just called my ward leader to see if I will be needed at the polls on Tuesday and he told me that there will be no street money and that I will not be needed. I think I will go to a mall and hang out.

He don't care. Moving people off welfare to work is one thing, inventing work for them to do is another.

During the Great Depression, someone made the decision to remove snow from public streets using individuals workers with shovels instead of snow plows. Some wag remarked, how many more jobs could be created if they removed the snow with teaspoons!

Still, the snow did have to be removed. What he was talking about is far different, and worse.

Oh man. I'm giving up coffee and boy, caffeine withdrawal sucks. I only had one cup a day; it feels really extraneous to have a headache this bad.

What about the boy?

/Sorry, couldn't resist.
Hang in there. Caffeine isn't that bad. Smoking is much harder to give up.

I gave up smoking a long time ago. This isn't even comparable. It's just a headache.
