Fox News Analyst Monica Crowley on Sandra Fluke’s Engagement: ‘To a Man?’

Right wing continues vicious attacks on law student Sandra Fluke
Media • Views: 25,287

A report that Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke is getting engaged prompted this nasty comment from Fox News political analyst Monica Crowley today:

As you might imagine, this led to a deluge of criticism and mockery on Twitter. Crowley replied:

Proving once again that the right wing concept of humor is … flexible.

That's humor? It was my understanding that jokes are supposed to be funny. I'm not offended at her joke, I'm more offended at how bad her sense of humor is.

That was painful to watch. Conservatives should just accept that conservative humor is lame.

So let me see if I understand this. Rush spent three days calling Sandra Fluke a whore and a slut who was wanting people to subsidize sex with her boyfriend in order to completely misrepresent her testimony before Congress.

Now that Sandra Fluke is engaged, she's suddenly a lesbian? WTF.

7 wrenchwench  Thu, Apr 26, 2012 12:03:00pm

I thought it was obvious that she was a slut who needed contraceptives because she was a slut. Does Monica know that lesbians don't need contraceptives, slutty or not?

That #CrowleyJokes hashtag on Twitter has turned into a deluge of spam, unfortunately. If you scroll down into it there are some pretty hilarious comments.

Wait...I thought Ms. Fluke was a slut who spent all day every day fucking and wanting the taxpayers to pay for the BC pills she had to take for every single event according to RWNJ "logic." Now she's a lesbian?

Humor relies on something being funny.

Example

"Hey Ed, Congratulations, I hear your wife is pregnant!"

"Yeah, and if I get my hands on the son of a bitch who did it..."

Yeah, after the whole bit we got over a month ago about Fluke's boyfriend's family being Jewish communists and being behind the orchestration of her testimony, feigning ignorance is rather transparent.

19 erik_t  Thu, Apr 26, 2012 12:10:35pm

Is the implication now that engagement (and therefore marriage) between two people of the same sex is okay?

I don't presume to know Ms. Fluke's politics on anything other than the idea that women are people, but I suspect she'd be willing to trade a little bit of infantile humor for the greater good of human rights.

20 allegro  Thu, Apr 26, 2012 12:12:25pm

Monica, are you jealous? Wanting Ms. Fluke for yourself because you get so turned on watching her testimony to Congress over and over again? Is that how you spend your evenings home alone, dreaming about Sandra?

Straightforward question. No answer yet.

27 lawhawk  Thu, Apr 26, 2012 12:19:55pm

So what if she were a lesbian (which she's not) Monica?
It wouldn't change my impression of her one iota or the fact that she was right and courageous to stand up to the idiocy coming from the GOP and gutless wonder Rush Limbaugh and the chairborne right wing rangers who attacked her incessantly ever since.

Would that make Crowley's comments any less despicable? Nope. It wasn't funny, but it provides more insight into Crowley and her mindset/worldview than it does about Fluke (her target).

The fact is she's getting married and that should be a joyous occasion for Ms. Fluke, her fiance, and their respective families and friends. Congrats to them.

How many thousands of people must be murdered by Islam before he stops saying such?

Rush Limbaugh On Hillary Clinton: ‘All She Is Is A Secretary’ Who Needs To Wear Spanx

Today, Limbaugh turned his attention to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Limabugh said that Clinton “has reached a pinnacle and all she is is a secretary,” adding that the left has “the strangest definition of success.”

Limbaugh then said he was being prodded to talk about Clinton’s need to wear “Spanx,” but suggested she had a greater need for “Spankles.” Spanx are undergarments designed to reduce the visibility of body fat. Listen:

re: #36 Charles Johnson

And that's even after President Bush said essentially the same thing (much to the consternation of the Islamophobes).

"The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. That's not what Islam is all about. Islam is peace. These terrorists don't represent peace. They represent evil and war."

The quote was from 9/17/2001.

At the Joint Session to Congress on 9/20/2001:

I also want to speak tonight directly to Muslims throughout the world. We respect your faith. It's practiced freely by many millions of Americans and by millions more in countries that America counts as friends. Its teachings are good and peaceful, and those who commit evil in the name of Allah blaspheme the name of Allah.

(APPLAUSE)

The terrorists are traitors to their own faith, trying, in effect, to hijack Islam itself.

The enemy of America is not our many Muslim friends. It is not our many Arab friends. Our enemy is a radical network of terrorists and every government that supports them.

Texans To Rick Perry: Time To Hang Up Your Boots

A new survey from Public Policy Polling shows that Texas voters aren’t enamored with the idea of Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) running for president again. Or even reelection to his current gig.

“The White House is definitely not in Perry’s future though if Texans have anything to say about it,” PPP, a Democratic-leaning firm, wrote in its analysis of its statewide survey. “Only 19% of voters think he should run for President again to 73% who think he should not, and even among Republicans just 31% think he should make another bid for chief executive.”

And when it comes to Perry retaining the governor’s mansion, Texans are similarly wary — only 29 percent of voters say he should run again for the state’s top office in 2014, against 64 percent who say he should hang up his boots. Seventy-three percent of independent voters do not believe Perry should run, while 49 percent of Republicans say he should try again.

Trayvon Martin Case: George Zimmerman's Website Taken Down

ORLANDO, Fla. — The website that George Zimmerman set up to help raise money for his legal defense in Trayvon Martin's shooting has been disabled, a spokesman for his lawyer said Wednesday.

The website was no longer functioning as of Tuesday, said James Woods, a spokesman for Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara. Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of the 17-year-old Martin in February. He has pleaded not guilty and is claiming self-defense. [Link: www.therealgeorgezimmerman.com...]

"It was taken down at Mark's request and he will not have any future online presence unless authorized in advance by Mark," Woods said in an email.

He said he had no information on how much money the website raised.

O'Mara has hinted that he will ask Zimmerman to be declared indigent, which would allow taxpayers to pay for his legal bills. Any income from the website would make that process more difficult.

That may be true, but GZ is an adult and this should only involve his assets, not those of his parents (because, AFAIK, he is no longer their legal dependent), unless they voluntarily put the money up for his defense.

While I think, given what we know about what happened, that he's guilty as sin in the wrongful death of Trayvon Martin, he is constitutionally entitled to a fair trial and a proper defense. If that ultimately means a court-appointed attorney (or fair reimbursement for the attorney he has already has), so be it.

If that ultimately means a court-appointed attorney (or fair reimbursement for the attorney he has already has), so be it.

Wait a minute there. If you are indigent and need a court appointed lawyer, you are not going to get a $1,000 an hour hotshot attorney. You will get a pro bono attorney who is likely relatively new, or maybe an attorney who contributes his time.
So no, Zimmerman does not deserve to have the taxpayers pay a "fair reimbursement" for O'Mara. Unless O'Mara is willing to work cheap like the others. He can't hire a million dollar attorney and then claim to be indigent and make the taxpayers foot the bill.

Right Wing humor is based on cruelty to others.

I'm a bit busy with end of semester stuff right now.

Talk radio is for people who drive everywhere; liberals ride their bikes or the subway and listen to their iPods.

don't forget retirees sitting at home, the talk radio demographic is very old because of people who listen to the radio at home

lots of retirees, lots of truck drivers

Yes, it just so funny, the "but isn't she a Lesbian" joke.. har har har, cause we've never heard that before from a conservative.

That was painful to watch. Conservatives should just accept that conservative humor is lame.

Actually since most of the so-called conservatives these days are fanatics they possess no sense of humour.

The sense of humour is surgically removed when you become a fanatic. Humour is dangerous to the advancement of the cause. The cause must be taken seriously at all times and the only way to ensure this is by removal of any vestiges of humour.

Something about glass houses comes to mind. She's not prize herself.

On that note, does FOX have any female contributors who don't bleach their hair?

Looks like they'll be hiring brunettes in the future...

What the reimbursement rates are for O'Mara is not up to you, me, or anyone else but the courts, who decide such matters. O'Mara would never get anything approaching what they would get paid representing a paying client and I'm sure they know it; they're likely doing this (in part) for its PR value.

Monica Crowley? Must be related to Aleister.

Why does Fox News support the spawn of satanists?

Uh, my Crowley-aligned friends are on Fluke's side. Just FTR.

That said, I tweeted Crowley myself.

Here's my first tweet, to where she said "I love exposing the Left's lack of humor" (WTTE):

"Or, rather, you love trying to pretend that your childish homophobia is just a joke when you get called on it."

I'm afraid that my second tweet, replying to were she insisted that her garbage was just a "Straightfoward [sic] question. No answer yet", is unprintable in a public forum. Or even a semi-private one. But, rest assured, I did ask her if my "question(s)" could ALSO be considered "just straightfoward", or "a joke".

Yes, I was really steamed. I could honestly slap her if I came face to face with her.
