Not Birthers Again: NC GOP Candidate on CNN

It’s a brain virus
Wingnuts • Views: 25,976

Oh no, here come the Birthers again. They’re relentless. This irrational crypto-racist conspiracy theory is so deeply ingrained in the GOP base that it refuses to die. It’s the ultimate right wing zombie meme.

This time, it’s a North Carolina Republican congressional candidate, Dr. John Whitley, a neurosurgeon (if you can believe that).

How’d you like to have this guy working on your brain?

Well, it's like they say: Understanding that birth crap is nonsense isn't brain surgery.

2 celticdragon  Tue, May 8, 2012 12:46:21pm

Here in North Carolina, we will be second to nobody when it comes to bringing on teh wingnut crazee...

Just a little reminder that NC was also the last state to integrate school districts... 20 years after Brown V Board.

Surgeons are the jocks of the medical world, not the intellectuals.

6 HappyWarrior  Tue, May 8, 2012 12:48:51pm

I believe Whitley's medical license is a forgery. I have no proof of this but I am still going to say it repeatedly.

7 Randall Gross  Tue, May 8, 2012 12:49:09pm

Irrational surgeon? No thanks.

8 Sol Berdinowitz  Tue, May 8, 2012 12:49:54pm

This must've been part of Obama's stragegy in taking so long in releasing his long-form birth certificate: he knew taht this story would gain a life of its own because nobody in the GOP would dare stand up and disown it. Now it is truly a "tar baby" attached to the GOP, if I dare use that term here...

9 Political Atheist  Tue, May 8, 2012 12:52:12pm

Ya really got nothing at all to say when you default all the way down to birther crap again. Nothing At All

Note the gadsden flag lapel pin, another proof that he's a f'in loon.

He's a surgeon at a hospital that benefits from public dollars, and he makes his largess mostly off of insurance and gov't programs in all likelihood, but hey... [wingnut on]don't tread on him with your Obamafascist police statez![/wingnut off]

Yet, they think it's a rallying point for GOP faithful to question the President's birth certificate.

BTW, that article goes in to how Melinda Gates found a way to reconcile her Catholic Faith with Birth Control. She is trying to change the focus to contraception and away from abortion.

I read it and thought--Well, it's about fricking time.

Not only does she have enormous influence, they also have a pharmaceutical company she is working with to create non-hormonal based contraception. And has funded contraception clinics all over the world.

Near bottom line. They hate having a black man in the White House, but with a few exceptions, they cannot bring themselves to say that in public in so many words.

That makes these people highly receptive to any sort of unfounded birtherist/Manchurian candidate/secret Muslim rumor-mill grist that puts Obama in a bad light.

I don't think a lot of them can actually see it in themselves. "They are good people, they can't be racist" So, it has to be something else, like the alcoholic who refuses to see that alcohol is the problem. He says it's the brand of beer or that he didn't eat dinner, or the sky was the wrong shade of blue. . . .

Only twenty-five bucks plus shipping.

Student Loan bill stalled in Senate

The legislation failed to muster the 60 votes needed to break a GOP-led filibuster. Senate Republicans vehemently opposed the measure because it would’ve eliminated a tax loophole for certain businesses – a move the GOP called a tax hike on job creators.

Ahh they continue to play the, Obamao the Kenyan, Marxist, Socialist, Manchurian, British, Indonesian, who calls himself Steve Dunham, is infiltrating the great white nation of God, and he will take away YOUR FREEDUMS.
(Just a note, the Steven Dunham story is one I won't link to but is out there, it is crazy funny, but the dude who wrote it, believes it, making it not as funny as it should be)
Someday, when the history books are written on the subject of birtherism, they will be considered comedy gold.

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the largest Charitable Organization in the World:

One bizarre response:

Indeed, in response to an item about contraceptive research on the Gates Foundation website, The Catholic Herald’s Phillips wrote, “A horrid image comes to mind, of white-coated boffins hard at work in diabolical laboratories, devising new ways of depriving men and women of their conjugal dignity, their culture and their traditions.”

How exactly does contraception "deprive men and women of their conjugal dignity?"

And "culture and traditions?" Like trying to feed and house 6,7,8 or more children in the garbage dumps of Manila?

49 Patricia Kayden  Tue, May 8, 2012 2:03:42pm

Republicans appear to have nothing to lose by pushing birtherism or by engaging in a war against minorities, gays, women, science, etc. If Romney wins, I fear what they will do to this country.

By removing the "spiritual" part of the union --is my interpretation of the statement.

Hard Core True Believers think that God is only only when a man and a women married in Church have sex in the missionary position with the express intention of creating a new life.

My answer is, "I don't give a shit if G-d is there or not. It's none of my business."

If there is one term that Dems ought to push back on, it is "job creators." Rather than giving in to a term that reeks of quasi-religious reverence, Dems should de-sanctify them and uniformly call them what they've always been called, "employers."
