#Breitbart.com Bombshell Exclusive: Professor Did Not See Barack Obama at Bill Ayers’ House!

The parade of derp continues
Wingnuts • Views: 42,561

Yes, they’re at it again; breitbart.com is recycling the Bill “Booga Booga” Ayers scare story with yet another ridiculous post in their “Vetting” series: Exclusive - the Vetting - Senator Barack Obama Attended Bill Ayers Barbecue, July 4, 2005.

You may have noticed that most of their “vetting” stories involve recycling debunked right wing memes: Birtherism, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and Barack Obama’s supposed secret radical communist ideology. This one is no different, but it’s even dumber.

As a presidential candidate in 2008, Barack Obama disavowed any connection with former domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, the Weather Underground radical who was one of Obama’s early backers and his colleague on the board of the Woods Fund in Chicago. We now have proof that Obama’s association with Ayers continued even after Obama had been elected to represent Illinois in the U.S. Senate—in the form of a now-scrubbed blog post placing Obama at the home of Ayers and his wife, fellow radical Bernadine Dohrn, on July 4, 2005.

Dr. Tom Perrin, Assistant Professor of English at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, was a graduate student at the University of Chicago at the time, and maintained a blog called “Rambling Thomas.” He lived next door to Ayers and Dohrn in Hyde Park. He wrote at 8:44 a.m. on July 6, 2005:

Guess what? I spent the 4th of July evening with star Democrat Barack Obama! Actually, that’s a lie. Obama was at a barbecue at the house next door (given by a law professor who is a former member of the Weather Underground) and we saw him over the fence at our barbecue. Well, the others did. It had started raining and he had gone inside be the time I got there. Nevertheless.

Read their BOMBSHELL EXCLUSIVE discovery closely, and you’ll find that the author of this blog post did not see Barack Obama at this Fourth of July barbecue. Other people told him they saw Obama. And despite watching for Obama to show up again, Prof. Perrin never saw him at all.

That’s it. That’s their BOMBSHELL of the day: a 7-year old blog post by someone whose friends told him they saw Barack Obama at Bill Ayers’ house, but who never actually saw Obama himself. That’s what they are calling “proof.”

Here’s the full text of that blog post, by the way:

Guess what? I spent the 4th of July evening with star Democrat Barack Obama! Actually, that’s a lie. Obama was at a barbecue at the house next door (given by a law professor who is a former member of the Weather Underground) and we saw him over the fence at our barbecue. Well, the others did. It had started raining and he had gone inside by the time I got there. Nevertheless.

Despite posting someone on Obama-watch at the window, we didn’t manage to spot him again as we had our rained-off picnic in the living room. Instead we all went outside again and sat about under umbrellas. All around the south side sounded like it was involved in a small war, so presumably lots of people had been to Indiana to buy proper fireworks, which are illegal in my corner of the Midwest. We, however, made do with party poppers from Osco Drug (which you have to be 21 to buy). Then everyone ritually beat me up and threw me out for being British. Actually, that’s a lie.

In a nutshell, what we have here is a tasteless 7-year old nothing-burger on a stale fake outrage bun. FEAR THE VETTING!

Meanwhile, one of breitbart.com’s commenters reacts to this stupid article by calling for the President to be “put against a wall and shot.”

Birds of a feather …… Of course Obama hung out with Ayers and many, many more radical treasonous terrorists, It’s his nature. They all, every one of them, should be put against a wall and shot. I’ll even pay for the bullets. It’ll be well worth it to be rid of this scum.

This is getting more and more comical. What's next? Obama had an affair with Ayers? Hey some of them have implied he's gay so why not that.

If a theory validates previous bias, then the greater the number of scientists agreeing with the theory, the more likely the theory is the word of god.

If a theory invalidates a previous bias, then the greater the number of scientists agreeing with the theory, the more likely the theory is just a conspiracy designed to redistribute money to the poor by the coming One World Government.

If it didn't work in 2008, why think that it'd do any better in 2012? Derpier followers who will believe anything published on Breitbart's site (if they can find it?)? Or, have the Breitbart folks decided that if they repeat stuff enough times, they'll implant the meme and it becomes a meme that has staying power, even though it is pure BS?

Heritage Foundation ‘Expert’ Cannot Cite Any Examples Of Actual Voter Fraud

In an interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC’s The Daily Rundown this morning, Heritage Foundation senior fellow Brian Darling argued for the importance of Florida-style voter suppression laws in order to stop potential voter fraud. But when pressed by Todd to identify any actual examples of voter fraud, Darling appeared stumped.
...

DARLING: Yeah, but it’s very hard to catch voter fraud. Look at what James O’Keefe did. He walked into DC, he didn’t have any ID. One of his guy video…
TODD: Did he vote?
DARLING: No, he didn’t vote.
TODD: See?

Were my vomit bucket?

Darling joined the U.S. Congress as an aide to Idaho Senator Steve Symms in 1992. The following year, Darling worked for Georgia Senator Paul Coverdell.

Darling became General Counsel to New Hampshire Senator Bob Smith in 1999. In January 2000, he and Senator Smith visited Cuban refugee Elián González before proposing legislation to grant González permanent residency. He was also a member of the Bush-Cheney recount team in Florida during the 2000 presidential election controversy and co-chairman of the Conservative Working Group, a weekly legislative strategy meeting of staffers from House and Senate offices.

In 2003, Darling became a partner in the Alexander Strategy Group lobbying firm, where he advocated for gun rights and other issues. He was a chief strategist for Senate legislation permitting airline pilots to carry handguns on the job.

In 2005, Darling became a legal counsel to Florida Senator Mel Martinez. He resigned from the position in May of that year following a controversy involving a strategy memo he had written based on the Terri Schiavo case. Later that year, Darling became director of United States Senate relations for The Heritage Foundation, where he is responsible for educating Senators and their staff about Heritage's latest research and policy recommendations.

Darling began writing a regular column for Human Events in 2008. He is also a contributor to the web sites RedState.com and BigGovernment.com.

and

The Schiavo memo was a talking points memorandum on behalf of the Republican party, which described the ongoing Terri Schiavo case as "a great political issue" that could appeal to the party's base.

Just like Obama closed Guantanamo?

Well he did try, but found he had no other place to put the detainees. Several options were offered and discussed but each time a suit was filed locally to prevent any possible transfer that would take years to resolve, then Congress weighed in and banned him from transferring or releasing any of the detainees to American soil...
[Link: www.au.af.mil...]

What is it that you want him to do? He did try, Congress simply didn't go for it, he is only the President, not the emperor or the king and so is unable to rule by whim or fiat. Blame Congress for it still being open, they are the ones who decided it should be, this one really is not Obama's fault.

Mitt Romney is quite radical; from talking about class size being unimportant, to his joining in the denial of AGW, to his desire to further tear down the barrier between church and state, etc.

Or maybe he's not radical, but he's a good employee of radicals. It makes little difference. He's not some strong, decisive leader that can take the GOP in hand. You thought he was; he's proved, over and over, that he isn't; he can't even keep Donald Trump in line (or he's really going full racist birther for the election.) It's disappointing, but hardly surprising. There is nothing in his record to really suggest he's an actual moderate.

Rep. Jeff Landry Baselessly Claims the Obama Administration offers Muslim Airline Passengers 'Waivers' to bypass TSA Screenings

Today on Jay Sekulow Live, Rep. Jeff Landry (R-LA) discussed with the American Center for Law and Justice’s Chief Counsel an amicus brief that the ACLJ is putting together on behalf of the congressman in the lawsuit against the Obama administration’s mandate for health insurance plans to include contraception coverage. Landry maintained that the Obama administration is showing its “hypocrisy” by mandating that religiously-affiliated hospitals and universities cover contraception in their health insurance plans while also “granting special status or waivers to Muslims as they go through TSA screenings.”

The congressman’s allegation that the Obama administration is giving Muslim passengers “special rights as they go through the TSA screening” doesn’t seem to have any basis in reality, as the TSA on its website gives no mention of religious exemptions and TSA administrator John Pistole testified that anyone who wants to avoid a pat down based on religious reasons is “not going to get on an airplane.”

U.S. District Judge Rosemary M. Collyer dismissed the suit, calling the Esquire post a “satirical comment on an issue of public concern.” WND and the co-plaintiffs named in the suit had been seeking $120 million in damages — $100 million in compensatory damages and $20 million in punitive damages plus legal costs.

“Having become such well-known proponents of one position on the issue, Plaintiffs cannot complain that the very intensity of their advocacy also became part of the public debate,” wrote Collyer. “Those who speak with loud voices cannot be surprised if they become part of the story.”

Meet The Romney Birthers

The Romney birthers' predominant theory is that because George Romney was born in Mexico, his candidate son is not a natural-born citizen, and therefore Constitutionally ineligible to occupy the Oval Office. (This theory has the unfortunate side-effect of disqualifying President Chester Arthur, the son of an immigrant from Ireland.)

Others believe the younger Romney was, himself, born in Mexico; others point to supposed evidence that his birth certificate is a fraud — and a few even contend that he was raised up by Mormon polygamists to be a presidential plant. But the bottom line for all of them is that Mitt just isn't American enough to be president.

In its relatively short life, the story — perpetuated in the fever swamps of the web — has been deeply developed, with conspiracy-mongers tracing Romney's ancestry back four generations, and citing chapter and verse of the Constitution to support their claim. (Romney's father was, in fact, born in an American colony in Mexico to two U.S. citizens, and left the country as a young child. Mitt was born in Michigan.)

The theory, which started to gain traction shortly before the Republican primaries, has also attracted adherents of various ideological stripes, from left-wingers to Ron Paul libertarians.

Mittastrophe: Romney Tells Students to Borrow Money from Their Parents

This afternoon at an event in Ohio — which students apparently were forced to attend, if the gentleman falling asleep in the front row is any indication — Mitt Romney yammered on about class warfare, and how President Obama is always attacking success, and why don’t kids today have the bootstrapitude it takes to up and start a multimillion dollar sandwich chain like Romney’s good friend Jimmy John did by borrowing $20K from the parental units.

90 jaunte  Mon, Jun 4, 2012 3:01:25pm

Jimmy John's operator MikLin found guilty of violating labor law

Administrative law judge Arthur Amchan ruled Friday that MikLin violated the National Labor Relations Act by firing six employees and issuing written warnings to three others on March 20, 2011, after those workers pressed the franchisee for paid sick leave and posted about 3,000 posters calling attention to MikLin’s sick-leave policy.

Mittastrophe: Romney Tells Students to Borrow Money from Their Parents

What a great idea! Why didn't I think of this in 1972 when I started to Cornell? Possibly because my parents' entire gross income and savings at that time would not have paid my tuition, let alone books, fees, etc. I had to rely on government handouts like the GI Bill and assorted scholarships provided by rich people who were not fundies and who therefore did not think my family's poverty was ordained by God, or required to be permanent.

The only people who are kind to Snow White and a male ally are a group of people whose women wear niqabs (full-ninja Muslim face-veils) and whose men wear kufis (Muslim hats). So, Twitter is basically like the elementary school playground. Maybe I should join.

it's like a faster BBS, or usenet with fewer characters

re: #32 Killgore Trout

I love that site. It's like a right-wing version of the Poutraged Left that keeps attacking Obama for being just like Bush. This comment really summed that up:

[Romney] gets elected and tells the rest of real conservatives to go suck lemons. Just watch.

Still have to vote for him over the other guy, though. Lessor or two evils.

Vote Team Romney: Driving America into Tyranny slower than the other Guy!

re: #51 Expand Your Ground

Good point. So it probably won't matter if we vote for Obama or Romney. They're all the same.

In the economic sense, yes, they are beholden to the same moneyed interests.

Really? You are going with "The economic policies Obama is following, and that the Republicans are doing everything in their power to block, and that turned the economy around after Bush completely wrecked it, are exactly the same as Bush's economic policies"?

If this is how Breitbartlians want to spend their time until November, that's fine with me. They can't get any crazier than what they are now anyways.
