Breaking Exclusive Newsflash! #TwitterGulag Is Still a Paranoid Persecution Fantasy

Mass wingnut hysteria continues

Gulag via Shutterstock

We’re going into the second straight month of the bizarre wingnut paranoid conspiracy theory they’ve dubbed #TwitterGulag, and the raving right wingers show no signs of re-entering the atmosphere yet.

They’re utterly convinced that I am the ringleader of this non-existent plot; if you follow the link above, you’ll see dozens and dozens of tweets ranting about my evil schemes, many with totally innocuous screenshots that are supposed to PROVE my evil liberal guilt.

I’m starting to think that if they’re going to blame me anyway, maybe I should hatch a diabolical high-tech plot to send them all to a commie forced labor camp. (Insert mad scientist laughter…)

And today, they’re also spreading more false claims about me: that Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik was a “regular visitor” to LGF, and that he was “inspired” by LGF. Both of these claims are completely false; I don’t know if Breivik ever visited LGF (anyone can look at a web page, of course), but he certainly never had an account here, and never posted comments.

As for the smear that Breivik was “inspired” by LGF, all you need to do is read his ugly manifesto to discover that he considered me a traitor to his twisted ideology; he included several articles full of vicious attacks against me by the leading lights of the “counter-jihad” blogosphere. Breivik himself never wrote a single word about me — all the mentions of LGF in his manifesto are in the articles by “Fjordman” that he republished.

Of course, we’re very familiar with this tactic from the right — they accuse their enemies of exactly what they themselves are doing. The fact is that the people circulating these smears about me are themselves the true inspirations for Breivik, and they remain bigoted anti-Muslim fanatics to this day.

But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we banned of twitter;
For he today that is banned with me, shall be a TWIT!!!

What good is a diabolical plot if it doesn't make you richer or ruler of the world?

I don’t know if Breivik ever visited LGF

This will be confusing to those readers who don't know that links to LGF in his manifesto are parts of Fjordman's articles which he had pasted wholesale, sometimes unattributed. (I would also say there is no doubt that Breivik visited LGF, although there is no evidence of "regular" anything.)

As I wrote, Breivik may have visited LGF, but I have no direct evidence of this at all, and neither do the morons trying to claim that he was a "regular visitor."

re: #4 Charles Johnson

Indirect evidence is quite strong - he evidently was an avid reader of anything "counter-Jihad", so the chances that he never loaded LGF, which is mentioned in discussion of the Fjordman affair, as well as in other contexts, are nil.

That said, there is direct evidence that he did visit. He cites LGF as a source (among others, both "counter-Jihad" and general, like wiki) in his document.no comments:

Hagee Tells Atheists to Leave the Country because They are not Wanted and Won't be Missed

Tomorrow, June 6, will be the 68th anniversary of the D-Day invasion at Normandy and Pastor John Hagee used his sermon this past Sunday to reflect upon sacrifices made on this day ... and also to tell atheists to get out of America "if our belief in God offends you" because they are not wanted and won't be missed while also calling on Congress to "outlaw the practice of witchcraft and Satanism in the US military, lest we offend the God of Heaven":

Of course all of these accusers were regular visiter themselves, and think that your greatest sin was wising up to and distancing yourselves from the far right hate bloggers like Fjordman, Geller, Spencer, etc. Principles, consistency and logic go out the window, their only goal is to launch an attack no matter how hypocritical. The fact that they continue to support Fjordman and deep down are sympathetic to Breivik is secondary to their need to lash out at you for rejecting them.

I don't think I've ever seen a greater assemblage of grown children.

Yes of course, atheists by dint of their belief system have no choice but to practice satanism, and lard knows there were no atheists in the trenches of WWI and under the guns of WWII.

Sticking to your beliefs is one thing, but doing it in a case like this is stupid. This poor vet had NOTHING TO DO with starting the War, it makes no sense whatsoever to take frustrations out on him.

29 Mich-again  Tue, Jun 5, 2012 12:21:34pm

I was around back in the day when Fjordman was an occasional visitor here trying to spread his "All Muslims are evil and must be deported" strategy and I was one of the first who harrassed him for his 10,000 word manifestos of hate-filled bullshit every time he showed up. Same for his dickhead buddy Robert Spencer who actually pretended in these threads to not know that Fjordman favored mass deportations. The LGF community puked them out like rotten mayonaise. So to come around now and say that they hung out here without pointing out how they were rejected shows their agenda.

#TwitterGulag = Double Digit IQs.

Of course we know who is behind the smears and this began long before they got their ape hands -- sorry apes -- on Twitter. Ironic since they are by and large admirers of Breivik and continue to read Geller and GoV to this day. This also includes the admiration of the genocidal war criminal, and thankfully long dead, Milosovic.

I believe there is a concurrent pathology with the anti-Jihad bloggers. Much of which caused permanent brain damage through repetitive behavior and exposure to mentally toxic environments. When you come down to it. The very same people at #TwitterGulag have a lot in common with Anders Breivik.

There's no way to know for sure whether he actually visited LGF. I agree that it's probable he did, but a list of "counter-jihad" websites isn't really direct evidence -- you can compile such a list without actually visiting the sites on it.

It's not a list of sites, it's a reference to a particular LGF page used as a source for demographic data (along with wiki, etc.). So it's direct evidence, unless it can be shown that the whole comment was a copypasta.

Basically, it was hard not to bump into LGF even accidentally if you were just following news of the US politics, esp. elections; and if one was interested in specific topics LGF happened to cover back then (both more general, such as radical Islam, and more specific stuff, like Fjordman's posts), a visit was assured sooner or later, even if by accident.

It's a non-issue, since nobody except Breivik can prove he was some sort of a regular reader, but I think there is no question that he did visit at least several times. The stronger point is that in those document.no comments he is explicit about the source of his inspiration - he lists Geller et al., but not LGF.

Anyone, anywhere, anytime, who claims to be a Christian yet claims that "God Hates" someone, or some group of people is quite obviously sorely lacking in their understanding of the Gospel, not to mention being a fraud.

"God" simply does not hate, he may be disappointed, you may arouse his wrath (if your especially evil and try very hard), he might feel sorrow for your future plight, but hate? No, the God of the New Testament does not hate...sorry fakers.

Religious Right Author Claims Environmentalism Will Destroy America, Introduce Fascist Tyranny

Janet Parshall in 2010 narrated a right-wing “documentary” about the “Green Dragon” menace, where Religious Right activists said that environmentalists do not believe in science but superstition, calling environmentalism its own anti-Christian religion. Yesterday, Parshall’s radio show was devoted to exposing the supposedly sinister origins of environmental science with guest Mark Musser, whose works include: “The Nazi Origins of Apocalyptic Global Warming Theory”; “Green Lebensraum: The Nazi Roots of Sustainable Development”; “Enviro-Baalism-Fascism” and “Nazi Oaks: The Green Sacrificial Offering of the Judeo-Christian Worldview in the Holocaust.”

Essentially, Musser’s main argument on Parshall’s program was that evolution, animal rights and environmentalism were the main forces behind Nazi thought and dehumanization of non-Aryan groups. He told Parshall that environmentalism inevitably leads to fascism and tyranny, and warns that the U.S. may be destroyed like ancient Israel if American society embraces environmentalism:
