Daily Caller’s Neil Munro Yells, Heckles Obama During Announcement

Right wingers are cheering, of course
Wingnuts • Views: 25,729

Stunningly crass behavior from The Daily Caller’s Neil Munro at today’s White House announcement, yelling and interrupting the President in the middle of his statement.

Youtube Video

Note that Munro was not “going rogue” — the Daily Caller officially approves of this kind of crude behavior:

All over Twitter, right wingers with Andrew Breitbart and Gadsden flag avatars are cheering like classless goons, making Neil Munro into their new hero. You can’t go wrong with the right wing by disrespecting a black President.

It's great to know that the far-right still respects and honors the office of the President of the United States.

I'd have expected the powers that be at the Daily Caller not to be stupid enough to openly endorse this behavior, even if Monroe or whoever was privately instructed to carry it out.

Conversely, if the POTUS was a Republican and the reporter from HuffPo, these same paragons of patriotism would be demanding that his citizenship be stripped and that his ass was sent to Gitmo.

No double standards there at all. Nope.

Munro reminds his goombah friends that they do not consider Obama to be the legitimate President of the USA.

They are of the unshakeable opinion that he should have been impeached years ago, actuallly, he should never have been allowed to campaign for the office in the first place.

Therefore, any dissing is perfectly acceptable.

Tucker probably got asked to respond to his reporter making a nuisance of himself, not hearing it was while Obama was talking, and gave a scripted response that makes him look clueless at best, a fuckwit at worst.

I always go to the White House prepared with questions for our president. I timed the question believing the president was closing his remarks, because naturally I have no intention of interrupting the President of the United States. I know he rarely takes questions before walking away from the podium.

You just asked the president your last question, Skippy.

And Tucker invokes Sam Donaldson...

I don’t remember Diane Sawyer scolding her colleague Sam Donaldson for heckling President Reagan. And she shouldn’t have. A reporter’s job is to ask questions and get answers. Our job is to find out what the federal government is up to. Politicians often don’t want to tell us. A good reporter gets the story. We’re proud of Neil Munro.

Morons.

37 Our Precious Bodily Fluids  Fri, Jun 15, 2012 12:36:46pm

It would be funny if Obama had one of those old-timey horns that go aaah-ROOO-gah! and then intentionally honked it to drown out reporters while they ask their questions. Then ask them to repeat themselves and do it again.

The reason I say it would be funny is most likely because I've been approximately 12 years old for the past 25+ years.

The shoe was not thrown by a Democrat.

And I don't remember many instances of heckling, let alone 'constant' heckling - mainly because Bush's people heavily screened his public appearances, even to the point of removing or denying entry to people who might have caused trouble.

Bush got nowhere near the amount of disrespect that Obama is getting. Not even close.

Glenn Beck Vows To Single-Handedly Destroy ‘Glee’

“A year ago I was watching the show ‘Glee’ with my wife and we watched it like this,” Beck said making the motion of his jaw dropping. “It’s horrifying some of the things that they’re teaching high schoolers. But it’s brilliantly done. It’s brilliantly done.”

At first, Beck says he was despondent.

“I said at the end of it, we lose,” he said. “There’s no way to beat that.”

But it didn’t take long for Beck to snap out of his funk and start devising a way to defeat “Glee.” Beck’s secret weapon: what he jokingly calls “the Oedipus Project” (“because the left will be making out with me,” he explained to BuzzFeed this week). Essentially, the plan is to produce a conservative alternative to “Glee” that is covert enough in its conservatism to not turn people away.

“We’ve spent a year now trying to put together a push-back with artists with music, but not the stereotypical conservative Lee Greenwood music,” he told the crowd at FFC.

The Oedipus Project? Well, good luck with that.

I don't think conservatives really grasp the concept. No, saying "you're going to go to hell" isn't covert at all.

I'm running into a few fence-sitters who are whining because "Obama's going over Congress' head." And? Congress has moved with all the speed of glacier in addressing problems with our immigration system these last 3 decades. You can't deport them all, but just the suggestion that those who leave voluntarily might get preferential treatment in acquiring citizenship or work visas draws cries of "AMNESTY!"

It's time for folks to grow the fuck up and realize that "compromise" can't be a four-letter word anymore. Even Reagan realized that tossing good, decent, hard-working folks whose only desire is to provide a better life for them and theirs is not the way forward.

I think most of them just repeat it like good little dittoheads, but those who actually try to argue that he's violating the Constitution pull the "strict constructionalist" bent. Michigan GOP: Dem Who Said ‘Vagina’ Silenced Because She Made A ‘Rape Reference’

“It has nothing to do with her using the word ‘vagina,’” Adler told TPM Friday. “The Speaker Protempore at the time was John Walsh. It was his judgment at the time that when she finished her statement by referencing her vagina, and then saying ‘no means no,’ that was drawing in a rape reference, and he felt that crossed the line.”

So you can abort a debate in case of rape, but not a pregnancy.

Angry Daily Caller person shouts at president

[...] Munro is an Irish-born naturalized American citizen who had a very boring gig as a science correspondent for the respected National Journal for ten years until he went to the Caller, where he was finally allowed to unleash his inner asshole. Fun fact: In his role as “science” reporter at the journal, he wrote two major pieces lending credence to anti-vaccine conspiracy theorists! So he’s vile and moronic in a variety of ways. Also various people who have met him socially and people who have worked with him seem to agree that he’s not a particularly pleasant or respectful guy.

The Caller, obviously, is very proud of Munro for shouting stuff. So now let’s agree to not talk about him anymore, ever, because that is what they want.

Nobody except the looniest of fringe wingnuts really believes that deporting every last illegal immigrant and their descendants would be realistic. It's just not possible. Some form of amnesty (by whatever process) is going to be necessary along with better border control.
I haven't been following very closely today but Obama has said he's going to stop deportations of certain illegal immigrants, correct?
That still leaves a very significant problem. They are still illegal, many are abused and exploited by employers because of their immigration status, they don't pay taxes, etc. Immigration reform is very complicated and sadly we are partially dependent on an illegal immigrant workforce for agricultural work, service industry and construction in many states. It's how we maintain our lavish lifestyles. Simply halting the deportations doesn't do much to solve the problem or provide a long term solution.

I dunno, I say it's a far more loony position to advocate "voluntary deportation"...in which the legal and social structure of the country is configured to harass undocumented immigrants such that they no longer want to be here. I mean, an actual push to use law enforcement to deport folks would have measurable results...the former would be throwing money into creating systematic discrimination (coincidentally playing into the hands of employers that treat their undocumented workers like helots) with no guaranteed results....

What's that? Romney supports voluntary deportation, too...?

Yeah, I mean, all of his statements are kind of looney. Seeing it as a positive good for every illegal immigrant to leave the country is idiotic, and it's lying to the country to pretend that that would be possible, or an economic good.

Given the way undocumented labor is just completely wedded to the success certain industries...particularly agriculture and building...I'm never sure about the sincerity of "kick them all out" advocates who hold office.

Then again, the experiments with using prison labor in Alabama (or Georgia?) agriculture may point to what's being imagined as a solution...particularly if one pairs the idea with the for-profit prison industry. So far the actual practice isn't going well.

I think a lot of "kick 'em out" people really aren't thinking about how few degrees they're separated from undocumented labor. I certainly live in an area where everyone doesn't like the "Mexicans" but guess who makes up the roofing crews, kitchen staff, landscapers, et cetera. And the same people make up excuses for why the local Tyson (chicken processing) plant shouldn't be held responsible for employing undocumented workers, getting caught, and hiring new undocumented workers....

I'm glad one of the real reporters (you know, people with attentive looks instead of angry glares and hands on notepads and pens instead of in pockets) called Munro out on his lie. Anyone watching the video could tell Munro didn't "mistime" his question. Obama was clearly not done talking, as Munro alleges, nor was he getting ready to turn his back on reporters and walk away, as Munro also alleges. Pants on fire liar. His sole purpose on being there was to interrupt the president and create some kind of scene. For what purpose, I can only guess. Munro was not there to report -- no camera, no pen and notepad. Besides which, his posture and facial expression just oozed defiance and contempt. Reminded me of the look rebellious teenaged boys get when a teacher calls them out for making trouble in school.

I hope the WH press corps shun Munro like the pariah he should be. He's operating at the same level as that sniveling con artist, James O'Keefe.
