Jim Hoft’s Ridiculous Misleading Headline of the Day

Flat out dishonest
Wingnuts • Views: 28,529

DERPJim “Dim” Hoft, the World’s Dumbest Wingnut, has a classic example of the “Liberals Are the Real Racists” argument today, a blatantly misleading post with the title: Arkansas Dem Congressional Candidate Gene Jeffress Talks N*gger Babies at Campaign Stop (Video).

Arkansas State Senator Gene Jeffress won of the House District 4 Democratic runoff earlier this month. He’s running for US Congress.

Here he is discussing n*gger babies at a campaign stop.
(Warning on language)

It’s OK, though. He’s Democrat.

I already knew what I was going to see before I watched this clip, and I wasn’t mistaken — State Senator Gene Jeffress said the words “n_gger babies” because he was quoting and calling out a racist woman who used that phrase in a rant against the Affordable Care Act.

What this lady told me was, she stood up and said, Senator, and she looked me right in the face and she pointed at me … said, “I don’t want to pay for no more n_gger babies in Chico County.”

Boy, that got quiet. You know what that really sounds to me like? Racism. Racism.

As usual, it’s hard to tell whether Jim Hoft is so dumb that he actually believes the disingenuous garbage he writes, or whether he’s being deliberately dishonest to manipulate the emotions of his right wing readers. I lean toward “dumb,” though.

Hoft is the dumbest man alive. I'm still not really sure how he gets the attention that he does. He is literally NEVER right about anything he says. And the thing is, like this latest little story, he POSTS the information that disproves what he's saying.

I've seen this before, and often. This happens a lot to trolls and or wingnuts, or just conservatives in general. They find some article, or a website somewhere that they think supports their ideas, and then they post the link without reading it, or viewing the video. Lo and behold, the link and video almost ALWAYS refutes what they just said.

Happens like clockwork. Just like anytime a right wing talk show host gets into trouble for saying something stupid, you can be sure they're going to harp about their first amendment rights being trampled.

Of course, looking at the comments section of Hoft's derpitude, it's painfully obvious that the people there either didn't watch the video, or didn't care that it completely disproved The Dim One's point.

I would say it's a little bit of both. Considering the cocoon movement conservatives have been living in since the first black president took office three years ago, it's not difficult to assume that Hoft - like other wingnut bloggers - hears a Democratic politician using the "n" word, and that's all he needs to hear. "SEE, DEMOCRATS ARE THE REAL RACISTS!!! LOOK HOW THIS GUY JUST USED THE 'N' WORD!!!"

He has had his moments of Derpitude, but he's smart enough to know that these racial air raid sirens are his - and other wingnut bloggers - bread and butter. Who cares if he looks like a schmuck for saying it. His site gets hits, and that's really the only thing that matters...to him at least.

Allen West: Obama Wants Americans ‘To Be His Slave’

From WPTV’s report on a West campaign event in Port Saint Lucie, Fla.:

“He does not want you to have the self-esteem of getting up and earning and having that title of American. “He advocated for energy independence and criticized President Obama on a variety of issues, using phrases and language guaranteed to get attention.

“He does not want you to have the self-esteem of getting up and earning and having that title of American. He’d rather you be his slave,” said West.

Jindal’s Louisiana Vouchers Face Growing Legal Backlash

In a lawsuit claiming that the bill violates the state’s constitution, the Louisiana Federation of Teachers and the Louisiana Association of Educators are seeking to have the reforms struck down.

The Louisiana School Boards Association also joined 34 other school boards late last week in filing a similar lawsuit, saying that the imposition “put[s] public school systems in more peril than ever.” Preliminary hearings are set for July 10.

CPAC's boy wonder swings left

Jonathan Krohn took the political world by storm at 2009’s Conservative Political Action Conference when, at just 13 years old, he delivered an impromptu rallying cry for conservatism that became a viral hit and had some pegging him as a future star of the Republican Party.

Now 17, Krohn — who went on to write a book, “Defining Conservatism,” that was blurbed by the likes of Newt Gingrich and Bill Bennett — still watches that speech from time to time, but it mostly makes him cringe because, well, he’s not a conservative anymore.

“I think it was naive,” Krohn now says of the speech. “It’s a 13-year-old kid saying stuff that he had heard for a long time.… I live in Georgia. We’re inundated with conservative talk in Georgia.… The speech was something that a 13-year-old does. You haven’t formed all your opinions. You’re really defeating yourself if you think you have all of your ideas in your head when you were 12 or 13. It’s impossible. You haven’t done enough.”

From page 2 of the Krohn article:

Those old memories sometimes come back to haunt Krohn, as when HBO’s Bill Maher recently included Krohn in a biting bit about young conservatives.

“I have no problem with what Bill Maher said,” said Krohn. “He’s funny. But all these people took it seriously instead of a joke.… It hurt me in the sense that I was compared to some kid who said that Obama is turning kids gay. And that kind of stuff is what happens. I have to explain to people over and over and over again that I’m not a conservative and I have my own ideas and I’m not just agreeing to everything that every conservative said. It’s very hard to break a stereotype like that of yourself.”

“I’ve been trying to tell people,” he added, “but it’s a lot harder to get stuff out there when your mind changes on things because a lot of people who supported you when you’re on one side of the issue aren’t really going to help you get your changing ideas out there when people still think I’m that conservative kid. … People don’t realize I was 14 when I wrote that book. I’m 17 now. In terms of my life, three years is a long time in a 17-year-old’s life.”

60% of the commenters didn't even listen to the video clip - they "duck-spoke" the party line. 30% of them rationalized the posting as OK since "libruls go crazy anytime one of us says the n-word". I bet there's going to be a more than a couple pastors out there trying to be cute and clever with that name this Sunday.

Why don't churches like talking about particle physics?

They're uncomfortable talking about invisible forces which actually work.

God' Particle Does Exist, Says CERN
Scientists at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) will be reporting this week that the ‘Proof of God’ particle does, in fact, exist.

It may be a bit more difficult to be an atheist this week.

According to The Associated Press, scientists at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) will be reporting this week that the 'God' particle does, in fact, exist.

Proposed in the 1960s by Scottish physicist Peter Higgs, the Higgs boson particle has been defined by theory, but has never been identified. This particle – so-called the ‘God’ particle – is what gives some particles mass, and leaves some massless, and can explain the origins of the universe. It is the Holy Grail for physicists, and is key to the understanding of physics and the universe...

How does a the existence of a particle that removes the need for a god for the existence of the universe make it hard to be an atheist. I think the author of the article misunderstands the significance.

Funny as it is and as deserved as it might be, I think for the sake of reputability you should remove the "DERP" caption from silly ol' Jim's pic. Just one man's opinion.
