Fox Nation Commenters Spew Paranoid Hatred, Call for ‘Mass Attack’ at DNC

Violent paranoid fantasies about civil war fill the Fox Nation comment section

I haven’t looked at Fox Nation comments in a while, but when I happened to see a tweet about their article on the Family Research Council shooting, I clicked through — and I think they might be getting even more insane and full of rage, if that’s possible.

Fox subtly titled the article: SOURCES: Gunman With Chick-Fil-a Bag Opens Fire at Conservatives - Family Research Council - Fox Nation.

Commenters immediately started spewing a deluge of hatred, racism, homophobia, and paranoia. This is a tiny selection from the flood.

Note that one of the comments I saw in the first page seems to be advocating a “mass attack” on the Democratic convention. (And notice again how they deliberately misspell certain words like “black” in order to avoid the automatic word filters.)

You have to wonder why the media is already squashing the fact that is was a big angry BLLACK man that did the shooting.

A vast array of far left groups are planning a big protest in Charlotte.

We'll see - I doubt the nutty left will be able to draw very many people. With the recent spate of wingnut-related violence, though, I'm more concerned about an attack like the one suggested by the Fox Nation commenter. I'm sure security will be very tight.

As bad as the shooting is, in a moral sense, it's still not at the level we've seen from loons listening to Glen Beck, et al.

There will be uncontrolled and some uncontrollable people across the political spectrum, but there should be a population of events that forms a normal distribution. When the majority seem to be significantly from the right something is prodding them beyond normal.

I haven't done the math, but I expect the number of episodes of right wing violence is at least 2 std. dev. from the mean.

I can't find where Factcheck takes a look at the $716 billion Peter/Paul putative scandal the Reps are on about, and I can't find a report from the CBO where looking at pages 13 and 14 as Sununu suggests makes any kind of sense. The only report I found with the July 24 date is a report from Elmendorf, as Sununu specifies, that is all about what would happen if Obamacare was repealed as attempted by H.R. 6079 on July 11.

That report says nothing about what is being enacted but what would happen if the laws went back to what they were before Obamacare.

I found another report published in July call "Estimates for the Insurance Coverage Provisions of the Affordable Care Act Updated for the Recent Supreme Court Decision" but there is no indication it was presented by Elmendorf on July 24.

Nothing on pages 13 and 14 indicate the $716 Billion was 'looted' from Medicaid, but they do mention 6 million people will not be eligible for Medicaid because of the Supreme Courts decision to move parts of Obamacare to the States.

To me the Tea Party inspired push back really disturbed me. I saw racism concealed with dog whistle politics hidden behind conservative rhetoric lead to the GOP - a disgraced and failed party after the economic collapse it oversaw - almost win back power against the Democrats and Obama.

The Tea Party GOP came so close to winning all over again - and doing so by doubling down on its failed ideology and blatant bigotry.

So, while I love making fun of these FOX nation comments it is also scary because this population maybe is what is making America ungovernable.
