National Review’s Advice for RNC Watchers: Ignore the Fact-Checkers

At National Review Online, where they’ve had to fire or distance themselves from at least two self-avowed white nationalists so far this year, the editors are advising their conservative readers to pay no attention to fact-checkers while taking in the sights and sounds of the Republican National Convention.

Facts ruin the narrative, you see.

The website PolitiFact is going to be truth-squadding the Republican convention speakers this week, delivering verdicts on which claims are “mostly true” and which deserve a “pants on fire” rating. Our advice: Pay no attention to those ratings. PolitiFact can’t be trusted to get the story right.

The Republican backlash against facts is gathering steam.
