Nitwits announce DNC prayer targets

Dear USRPN,

As the Democratic National Convention prepares to convene on Tuesday, one shocking reality has made news headlines around the nation. This afternoon the DNC is allowing a 2-hour session of "Jumah" Islamic prayer to commence the Charlotte, North Carolina meetings, and comes after Democrats denied a Catholic cardinal's request to say a prayer at the same event, according to reports.

Nearly 20,000 people are expected to participate, as top Islamic leaders are set to lead the prayer and also hold a conference from August 31-September 1 in which issues such as the Patriot Act, the NYPD, the National Defense Authorization Act, and anti-Shariah law sentiment will be targeted. Please click here to see more information. (Note: All information derived from [Link: www.theblaze.com)...]

Please be in prayer as this is occurring using the prayer points below:

1.) Pray for the breaking of the enemy's (Satan's) plans through this time of prayer.

2.) Pray for all Muslims within the United States to know the Love and Truth that is Christ Jesus.

3.) Pray against the advancement of Shariah Law in the U.S. government, education, and economic systems.

4.) Declare that Jesus is Lord over this nation!

5.) Ask God protect America from any destructive plans of Jihad.

Thank you for contending with us!

For the nation,

Mike and Cindy Jacobs

Um, no. Now go away.

Bryan Fischer Cancels Planned DNC Trip

Fischer's reason for the cancellation is that he and the American Family Association were concerned for his safety in light of the recent shooting at the Family Research Council in Washington.

"I was booked to go, and had space reserved on radio row to do my show from there all three days of the convention," Fischer told BuzzFeed in an email. "We'd already purchased non-refundable airline tickets, and had car rental and hotel reservations already made. But after the FRC shooting, Tim Wildmon, our president, came to me and said out of concern from my safety it might be better for me not to go. So we changed plans and I went to the RNC instead."

Right, I'm sure that was it.

How many businesses could actually be started with only a 20K loan though? To open a shop or any sort of restaurant/bakery,any sort of service or a small manufacturing type venture is going to require quite a bit more than that to be successful. Undercapitalizing the business could be the kiss of death in the first year.

I could see maybe a single person starting a lawn service or maybe some sort of consulting business doing ok with that 20K to start, but anything bigger than that and 20K won't even begin to cut it. Mitt pulled that number out of his nether areas.

This is what the brain dead wingnuts consider Obama and Democrats not supporting Israel. From the Dem Platform:

The administration has also worked to ensure Israel's qualitative military edge in the region. And we have deepened defense cooperation - including funding the Iron Dome system - to help Israel address its most pressing threats, including the growing danger posed by rockets and missiles emanating from the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran. The President's consistent support for Israel's right to defend itself and his steadfast opposition to any attempt to delegitimize Israel on the world stage are further evidence of our enduring commitment to Israel's security. It is precisely because of this commitment that President Obama and the Democratic Party seek peace between Israelis and Palestinians. A just and lasting Israeli-Palestinian accord, producing two states for two peoples, would contribute to regional stability and help sustain Israel's identity as a Jewish and democratic state. At the same time, the President has made clear that there will be no lasting peace unless Israel's security concerns are met. President Obama will continue to press Arab states to reach out to Israel. We will continue to support Israel's peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan, which have been pillars of peace and stability in the region for many years. And even as the President and the Democratic Party continue to encourage all parties to be resolute in the pursuit of peace, we will insist that any Palestinian partner must recognize Israel's right to exist, reject violence, and adhere to existing agreements.

No God, like the US Constitution, but...

Faith. Faith has always been a central part of the American story, and it has been a driving force of progress and justice throughout our history. We know that our nation, our communities, and our lives are made vastly stronger and richer by faith and the countless acts of justice and mercy it inspires. Faithbased organizations will always be critical allies in meeting the challenges that face our nation and our world - from domestic and global poverty, to climate change and human trafficking. People of faith and religious organizations do amazing work in communities across this country and the world, and we believe in lifting up and valuing that good work, and finding ways to support it where possible. We believe in constitutionally sound, evidence-based partnerships with faith-based and other non-profit organizations to serve those in need and advance our shared interests. There is no conflict between supporting faith-based institutions and respecting our Constitution, and a full commitment to both principles is essential for the continued flourishing of both faith and country. Blackwater (now Academie) got booted, but we still have at least 2,500 contractors there teaching the Iraqi Army ans some other protecting the civil programs still in operation. The Iraqi desire to get rid of non-trainer contractors (though understandable) is most of why we've cut back no civilian aid to Iraq: The security contractors are needed to protect the accountants and oversight people who ensure that such aid is not stolen.

Barney Frank: Mitt Romney on every side of all issues

Veteran Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank said GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s positions should come with “expiration dates” and that Romney’s current stances are good only until “2013 or ‘14.”

“Mitt Romney, he was a businessman,” Frank said on CNN. “He brings certain business techniques to government. One of them is the notion of an expiration date on the product. When Mitt Romney takes a position, it’s good only until a certain point, and you should be told: ‘Don’t buy this after April of 2013 or ’14.’ I don’t know how anyone can say otherwise. He has been on every side of every important issue in American history since he’s been around.”

That story almost sounds like they were pretending to be whatever they thought actual poor people did while working their way though school, like playing house or something(or making fun of people doing it,I have no idea,I doubt seriously they did without a thing). Didn't Ann talk about her parents asking why they were living like that when there was no need for it(after her parents showed up at their apt for a visit)? Yeah right, they had to eat tuna noodle casserole off an ironing board because they had no table. Bullshit.

I really don't get the "eating off an ironing board" thing. Young couples may have used ironing boards as tables back when ironing boards were made of wood. By the mid 60's they were metal and would have made dreadful tables. If this was a built in, fold down type ironing board, it might have been wood, but at a very uncomfortable height for a table. I'm a few years younger than Mitt, but I didn't know anyone in college, no matter how poor, who used an ironing board for a table. They went to the thrift store and bought a $5 coffee table or something.
I know it is a small thing in the Romney's inspiring personal story, but it bugs me. It's like they heard stories from their parents generation and decided to recreate the "struggling newlyweds" story.

me too, and i lived in some pretty basic college hippie living situations in the early 70s

in nyc as well as some cities on the west coast, unwanted furniture is left out on the street for collection on designated nights, and some of my friends used to furnish their apartments that way. in the early 60s a perfectly serviceable table could have been had at the goodwill for, i'm sure, $20

also, mac and tuna fish? we ate a lot of brown rice, tofu, yoghurt, tuna, and chicken, and didn't consider ourselves either wealthy or victims of hardship. food is cheap in the united states. as a matter of fact, i considered the whole grains, fresh baked whole wheat bread, and veggie curries topped with plenty of yoghurt to be distinct improvements on my parents bland wonder bread and mashed potatoes from a box diet

in those days i used to work as a dish washer in a steak restaurant. would bring home lots of leftover steak that didn't need to get dumped out the used plate into the garbage. paid $75/mo rent and saved money on the $2.50 minimum wage that a dishwasher got

Current counts, and this party just got started.

Topic - number of mentions - percentage
RNC:
Romney The Great 213 22%
Patriotic Platitude 219 22%
Obama The Terrible 411 42%
Wedge Issue 123 13%
War 14 1%

DNC:
Obama The Great 65 51%
Patriotic Platitude 19 15%
Romney The Terrible 30 24%
Wedge Issues 8 6%
War 5 4%

It's pretty obvious which party likes their candidate more.

Mitt never does say in which industries the job creators are waiting in the wings, but unless average people have money to spend, there won't be much job creating going on. You can't have a growing economy with a shrinking middle class, even if you let the "job creators" pay 0 income tax.

I have a relative who believes with all his heart and soul that regulations are what is keeping employers from hiring, not a lack of demand. He apparently feels that people will buy stuff if there is a lot of it stores. They will realize that these consumer goods exist and will desire them. This will make them work harder and make more money so they can buy them. Makes no sense to me...

Israel not happy with Dem allegations.
Oren ‘categorically denies’ he singled out GOP as taking partisan Israel shots

Israel's ambassador to Washington, Michael Oren, "categorically denied" that he specified the Republican Party when he described as harmful making Israel a partisan issue.

"I categorically deny that I ever characterized Republican policies as harmful to Israel," Oren said in a statement emailed Tuesday to reporters. "Bipartisan support is a paramount national interest for Israel, and we have great friends on both sides of the aisle."
...
Oren has repeatedly said attempts to make Israel a partisan issue are detrimental to the bipartisan support the Jewish state has for years enjoyed, but he has never singled out one party as more responsible than the other for promoting such divisions.

Which is also why I found Biden's comments yesterday about Republicans and Iran a bit troubling. Israel does not want to be a political football. Playing these sorts of games with foreign relations is not wise.

Unemployment is at 8.3%, Obama's approval is 47%; his negative at 49%. In a normal election cycle, the incumbent with numbers like these would be six points down in the polls. Minimum. But the race is a pick 'em, and I find it striking. I think it says more about Romney than it does President Obama.

I'm a bird lover. I currently have only a cockatiel that has been with me for the last 17 years.

About 5 years ago I was building a wall out in the country. As I'm on my knees with a screaming circular saw shooting dust everywhere, out of the woods, the cutest and most pathetic black kitten ever came right up to me while sawing.

Long story short I brought him home and upon first gazing at my cockatiel in her cage, he lept, must have been 6-8 feet onto the cage. Hanging on the cage like one of those stuffed cats on a car window. Splayed out with jaw quivering. No cats for me.

Mom took him though. She loves him dearly.

I was a kid during the 60's but I remember that even back then we could get cheap card tables if needed for about 10-15 dollars to eat on. Not to mention those tv tray tables and folding chairs.

Another thing: when you have parents that are affluent, you can borrow the extra and unused stuff. That slightly unfashionable set of furniture, that extra set of dishes, those teatowels-stuff from the vacation house, all you have to do is go get the stuff on a truck. It's already been paid for, and is just sitting around unused. On the equivalent of 90 thousand a year, even if you had to use the stock for tuition, there was still enough money to buy decent stuff.
