American Family Association Caveman Bryan Fischer: We Seek to Take America Back to Genesis

Forget black and white TV, Fischer’s going back to “the dawn of creation”
Wingnuts • Views: 22,026

Meanwhile, Bryan Fischer (the most obsessed and hateful religious right caveman of the whole tribe) helpfully explains: “We seek to take America back to the Stone Age.”

Oops. I mean, “back to the book of Genesis.” Imagine hanging out in the Garden of Eden with this head case.

Can't they just go back to Genesis all by themselves and leave the rest of us alone? The country is actually large enough that they could find a nice place in the middle of nowhere and they'd never have to see another minority, woman or liberal ever again if that's what they wanted.

I'd hate to see what's gonna come slithering out of his dark, nasty closet when it's opened up one day. (((shudder))) He gives me the creeps.

12 engineer cat  Thu, Sep 6, 2012 1:26:42pm

stone age

neolithic, for genesis, i guess, so stone age would be correct

by the time you get to exodus, you're clearly in the bronze age

13 darthstar  Thu, Sep 6, 2012 1:27:01pm

No need to go all the way back to Genesis (can't stand Phil fucking Collins anyway). We could just go back to Exodus.

Who will their kids marry?

15 Kragar  Thu, Sep 6, 2012 1:27:42pm

And I say no, we're going way, way, way back further than that; we are going all the way to the dawn of creation. God is the one who created us male and female; God is the one who formed marriage, who created marriage, who designed it to be a union of one man and one woman for life. So we're going way past the 1950s; we're going clear back to the Garden of Eden.

So is that before or after Lilith tells Adam she's not going to put up with his shit?

Does Mr. Fischer know that going back to Genesis means giving up the few thousand years of scientific and medical advances, some of which no doubt are the reason why he's lived past the age of 30?

I think the rain is bad enough. You don't want your supporters spending all day, in security lines getting into the stadium and then huddled on bleachers, watching the hours of programming, all the while being rained on periodically. While the President would have just been briefly rained on, the attendees would have been bedraggled & miserable and the optics would have been terrible.

I wish the GOP would make up its mind what disaster scenario they'd like to use as a talking point and stick with it...it's getting impossible to mock them all.

What is the problem? They are easily combined in all sorts of fear generating combinations...

"The end of the free world that will engender 1000 years of darkness and a holocaust amongst God fearing people!"

"1000 years of darkness which will start with the holocaust of the White ruling class and finish with the end of the free world!"

"The student loan holocaust was created by the government loaning young people money to get a higher education. But it was a slippery slope and soon the government was loaning money to people to build private death camps, crematories, and gas chambers. This was the end of the free world era and the beginning of 1000 years of darkness!"

Hmm...on second thought that last one does sound rather silly and perhaps just a bit farfetched.

Shit, even if it was a short monsoon downpour, I wouldn't hold the speech outside. Folks not living in the South have no idea what a downpour like that does to the humidity even an hour after the rain stops. Harvey: 'Seriously Evil' Bill Restricting Ex-Gay Therapy Puts Youth 'At Risk'

Mission America’s Linda Harvey is weighing in on the debate over California’s SB 1172, the legislation detested by anti-gay activists because it will prohibit counselors from engaging in discredited sexual orientation conversion therapy with minors. Harvey said the bill is another move by the “aggressive homosexual lobby” to keep children and teenagers from hearing the truth about sexuality, and she is hoping that more Americans will begin to “see how false and harmful the gay agenda is and it’s our youth who are particularly at risk” before other states consider similar bills. Later, she decried the legislation as “seriously evil” as it could lead gay and lesbian youth “down the road of spiritual, emotional and physical tragedy.”

Police: Angry Ex-Girlfriend Triggered US Airways Bomb Hoax

The ex-girlfriend and a man believed to be a current boyfriend are now in custody, sources said. According to sources, they appear to have perpetrated the hoax bomb threat and are being questioned by federal authorities in Philadelphia. Neither the FBI nor the US Attorney in Philadelphia would comment. No charges have been brought against anyone at this time, sources say.

"This is no joke," Sullivan said. "These will be federal charges...they're going to be very serious charges."

He said authorities did not yet have a motive for the hoax.

"It's just an incredibly foolish and irresponsible thing to do," he added. "And bottom line, it's criminal."

It's sad that for a major news org like AP fact checking is a completely alien concept. They should already have researchers and editors on staff for the task but it seems they can't even find people who understand the basic concept. It's pathetic.

I suspect you're probably correct. They put that in as a dig at Bill and it's completely unrelated to his statement. This is where the fact checking concept gets watered down, when partisans start using it dishonestly as a tool. From MSNBC, Think Progress, Fox or other partisan outlets I would expect something this stupid but there's no excuse from AP. They should know better. A retraction and an apology are in order.

Hurricanes can generate storm surge, heavy rain, and also through that rain and their winds raise river and lake levels. So Mitt's question was intended to find out if Hurricane Isaac had exposed any points of concern in the Crescent City's recently improved flood protections. It was reasonable and not clueless.

Clinton is a proven liar. AP should fact-check if there is a question about his speech instead of going off half-cocked.

Uhh sure, except that None of the flooding occurred within the area of the Federal (Corps. of Engineers) levy system which all worked exactly as it was planned to. The only flooding was in areas outside of the Federal flood protection district that were protected by privately owned and maintained levies. Anyone paying the slightest attention to the national news coverage had already heard that the overtopped levies in Plaquemines Parish were not part of the Federal flood control system and were privately maintained at least a hundred times before Romney asked that idiotic question.

They didn't "Fail," the water just rose higher than the levies and ran over the top of them (hence "overtopped"), an eight foot AMSL levy simply cannot stop a twelve foot AMSL storm surge. Again these were not Federal levies but ones privately built by the property owners and developers with the cooperation of their local Parish council. There is no Federal interest or responsibility here, this is simply the free market at work, it would have cost the property owners more to build a taller levy, so they didn't. Case closed.
